Hello there,
I have had the OPO for a while now and initially successfully gained root access, unlocked bootloader etc. However, I now have lost root access and SuperSU says the SU binary is not installed. I have tried re-flashing the SuperSU zip through TWRP several times (and I tried CWM too), I reset my phone completely, tried restoring through nandroid but It still comes up with the error. I'm not sure if this is relevent to this problem but /data will not mount for some reason as well. Is there anything you might know that could help me out? Please Help.
Thank you,

While attempting to switch to CM11 I tried upgrading TWRP from 2.4.4 to the newest 2.6+ and it messed up my recovery. Then, while trying to re-flash an older TWRP, I accidentally installed SuperSU over an existing install, and lost root. Tried re-rooting the device using motochopper and it gets to the last part, "rooting device" and it says "failed". Device the reboots, I try to open SuperSU and it says "no SU binary installed". All I'm trying to do is put back TWRP 4.2.2 so I can restore my device. Please help
EDIT: Tried using fastboot to install image, everything looks good, then my tablet freezes up. I do a power cycle, it reboots, and the recovery didn't flash.
UPDATE: Recovery flashed and wiped EVERYTHING. I am back on recovery 4.2.2.0 but nothing is mounted and I can't mount anything, I can't make backups or restore images, and ADB Sideload does not work. Any help would be really, really awesome. I have SDK Manager, and I can currently use ADB on my computer, I just don't know what commands, blobs, or images to use.

Can you use fastboot to reflash the stock ROM?
As title says... I had unlocked bootloader and flashed TWRP then SuperSU and ROOT was working fine.
- Last OTA I got which was yesterday (as only just got the phone) was XNPH33R.
- I used TWRP to install the update which went fine except I lost ROOT access.
- Went back to TWRP and reinstalled SuperSU which shows as installed on my phone - however no apps that require ROOT can get ROOT access and RootChecker shows that the phone is not rooted.
- Rebooted to System / Tried to Fix Permissions / Tried to reinstall newest SuperSU - nothing works
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can regain ROOT or is not possible on XNPH33R?
Further issues I have now got no ADB access in Fastboot no matter what drivers I install... don't know if this is all linked!!!
Jesus christ
Any help appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Too much work if you do a full wipe and re rooted ?
Also try to put zip file with airdroid and flash it in download mode
So I've found out that although adb was telling me that it couldn't recognise any devices in fastboot mode - all the actual commands from the OnePlus One toolbox were actually getting through as I relocked my Bootloader to see what would happen and then tried to Flash Recovery and it told me Bootloader was locked - so that confirmed adb commands were working.
To solve my ROOT problem I did the following:
1) Flashed CM XNPH22R
2) Installed all OTA updates
3) Unlocked Bootloader
4) Installed TWRP - then chose REBOOT TO SYSTEM (this told me I wasn't rooted and then followed prompts)
5) I chose to install SuperSU from Play Store
6) Opened SuperSU and updated binaries
7) Turned off Update CM Recovery in Developer Options
8) Rebooted and installed and ran Root Checker....
9) Success!
Remove the respect CM root settings from the SU settings menu and your root will come back i had the same problem until i found this out.

Thanks - wish you told me that earlier!!
I assumed it should be on because it's CM right!!! Doh!
Oh well - this might help someone else...
TWRP thinks I have root (it's not prompting me to install the SU binaries when I exit recovery).
SuperSU thinks I don't have root (it says I don't have the SU binaries installed).
I've tried re-installing TWRP, I've tried re-installing SuperSU. Neither worked.
Other than wiping everything, I can't think what to do.
Any suggestions?
I'd rather leave wiping 'til a last resort; and, just my luck, the last nandroid backup wasn't all that recent.
EDIT: I've just thought, I could do a "fastboot flash system", but I can't seem to find the system.img for 44S. Anyone able to obtain it?
EDIT v2.0: Found it. Flashed it. Sorted. I guess this can be closed now!
Last night i tried to root my phone. I installed twrp, supersu, and everything needed, but supersu was not working and put my phone in a bootloop. I got out of that and tried to restore my phone to before i did anything, but it wouldnt let me. I then stupidly installed crDroid, which worked, but now i cant get any cellular service, which defeats the purpose of having a cell phone. I wiped my phone and tried to install a stock firmware multiple times that was correct for my phone, but that didnt seem to work in twrp either. I tried to adb sideload, but i'm too stupid to even get the right file name for the stock firmware? i need seirous help so i can have my phone back. I dont even want to root anymore.

When you're rooting stock, remember do not wipe cache and dalvick partitions after root and before first boot

For resetting to stock goto
1)recovery
wipe menu --> advanced tick all the options except sdcard
Then reboot to bootloader
Flashing Firmware
http://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/general/index-moto-g-factory-firmware-images-t3169639
here you can find the firmware and download it(size will vary but greater than 600Mb).If you cannot find firmware just pm me and i will give you the correct link.
Procedure for flashing -->
http://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/general/guide-fastboot-flashing-factory-t3187750
will installing super su use version
https://download.chainfire.eu/751/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.62-3-20151211162651.zip?retrieve_file=1
You cannot just flash SuperSU on stock marshmallow, it will boot loop you. What you need to do is, go into advanced tab in twrp and enter the terminal and write this before flashing SuperSU zip
echo SYSTEMLESS=true>> /data/.supersu
This will move root to data and avoid the boot loop

Use the supersu version attached in this link.
Hi guys I'm about to blow my brains out, I've gone through so many guides and nothing has worked to help me with this catch-22 like loop I'm in. Any help would be most appreciated.
So I want to install a custom ROM, but to do that I need to decrypt my phone's storage, right?
So TWRP is giving me an error that my password is invalid even though it is the correct password (when trying to decrypt on TWRP recovery startup.
So I format data to fix that, but if I format data then I lose ROOT access.
I can mount the zip fine after I format data, but if I try to install the ZIP I get ERROR 255, which I found is related to not having root.
If I go and reboot into my stock boot, everything's wiped obviously so I need to re-install magisk to grant superuser/root access. But in doing that it RE ENCRYPTS EVERYTHING, DELETES HAVOCOS's ZIP, and basically I'm back at square one if I try to reboot into recovery and decrpyt everything???
What the heck am I missing here? Surely it has to be possible and I'm missing something simple? Please?
If it wasn't already clear, OEM is unlocked as well as USB debugging. I can boot into bootloader and have no trouble flashing imgs.
I have been trying to do this for 3 days now to no avail. I will not give up, but I could really use assistance.
