>Changing The Color Of The Status Bar
With Tinted Status Bar up and running, you can now find it in your app drawer like any other app. Best of all, you can make any changes you want and they don’t require a restart.
Some apps, like Google+, already have a defined “Action Bar” color and will change the color automatically — but most will not. To manually adjust them, find your app under Per App Tints, make sure the slider at the top is set to On, and select “All activities, below settings override this”.

From here, you can choose if you want to link the status bar and nav bar colors (if you have a nav bar on your device) and if you want the status bar to stay the same color even if the action bar goes away temporarily within the app.
You can then tap on one of the four colored squares to adjust their color and their opacity. If you’re having issues, make sure the opacity slider is all the way to the right. You can then adjust the value or type it in to reach your desired color.
But what if you don’t know the color code for Facebook blue? No problem. That’s where Color Picker comes in.
Once you download this app from the Play Store, you can take a screenshot of the app you want to know the color of (in this example it is Play Music) and then open Color Picker and select the screenshot. Simply tap on the screen anywhere on the colored portion of the action bar, and it will tell you the color code.
>Troubleshooting
If you’re using a custom launcher that allows for a transparent status bar and/or navigation bar, you may run into an issue where the bars turn black instead of transparent on your homescreen or lockscreen. If this happens, the fix is surprisingly easy. Set Max HS[V] for Black icons to most high as possible.
>Result Before & After
Home screen status bar is not transparent even after setting HSV to highest value.

There are certain icons (namely 3G Watchdog) that I want to not be on the status bar, but still visible if I open the notification drawer. Yes, I'm aware of the "hide icon" feature in 3G Watchdog, but that doesn't actually hide the icon, all it does is make the icon image blank. Android still reserves a space on the status bar for that icon, which leads to some ugly gaps like this:

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

I'm using CyanogenMod 10, if that matters. And yes, I'm aware of CM10's feature allowing you to completely hide notifications from certain apps, but that would remove the notification from the notification drawer, which is not what I want. Think Google Now and its weather notification, except with me being able to apply that function to whatever app I want.
I dislike bumping, but it's been a few months and I still need an answer.
I've since upgraded to CM10.1 if that matters.
I have the same question
I'm currently using NilS notifications and have no need for app notifications to show on the status bar. It's very annoying having these notifications remain after I've already read/acted upon them. Is there any status bar mod which will hide app notifications from the bar itself? I don't care if it just makes app icons in the status bar black so they appear to be invisible. It's fine if notifications still end up in the drawer.
I've looked everywhere and tried some alternate status bar apps. The issue I've had with the alternate status bars is they've all ended up being a mask and when you pull the drop down, the alternate bars covered half of the clock and clear all button. If anyone know of any apps that won't do that, please let me know as well.
I understand Android doesn't currently allow 3rd party apps to clear status bar notifications. From what I've read, this will be changing in 4.3 but I just can't take it anymore. Any legitimate advice would be appreciated.
also on CM10.1

This could help, I was looking through posts for the same problem and have seen this, as no one has replied or helped you I will reply to this (kind of old thread)
http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...us-bar-notifications-with-notification-clean/
Sorry to bring an old thread back, but anyone knows if this is possible? I would love to move Tasker notification to the drawer to free up space in the status bar.
Thanks,
Vic.
This is still very much an issue. I'm having this problem with the Quickly app - does exactly the same thing. Android still reserves the space for the icon even when invisible...

Thanks ... Figured it out but now i have to change the background of received notifications coz they r black
Might want to add Notification color #ffffffff and Notification Text color #ff354344
There have to be some settings you've missed.. since mine looks nothing like this! The top is stock, the icons are stock (yes ive installed and applied the android l theme), the bottom is lighter than the notification background itself! someone plz share a better detailed description!.
Please do NOT post these themes or link back to it anywhere else. Anything you find wrong should be posted in this thread. Please leave feedback or let me know if I missed/messed something up.
FEATURES:
POTATO GESTURES MOD
First, what this mod does is allow you to use gestures within your status bar. JUST SWIPE AND DOUBLE TAP ON THE CENTER OF THE STATUSBAR. ONLY FUNCTIONS THAT WORK ARE MUSIC GESTURES. SET DOUBLE TAP TO PLAY/STOP, AND SWIPE ACTIONS TO SWITCH TRACKS IN THE POTATO STATUSBAR GESTURE APP IN YOUR APP DRAWER. DO NOT REPORT SYSTEMUI FORCE CLOSES IF USING ANY OTHER FUNCTIONS. NOTE YOU WILL ALSO NEED TO SET STATUSBAR COLOR TO TRANSPARENT FOR THE GRADIENT APP TO WORK PROPERLY.
WHAT DOES NOT WORK:
CUSTOM STATUSBAR COLOR
SHOW AVAILABLE MEMORY
SLEEP
STATUSBAR GRADIENT MOD
What this mod does is allow you to select up to 4 colors for your stausbar. Transparencey is supported, and you can choose which direction the gradient goes
POTATO STATUSBAR CLOCK/DATE MOD
This mod allows you to put the clock and date wherever you want in the statusbar. You can choose multiple different formats including text clock. If you know java you can create you own display style! NOTE: IF YOU USE CENTER CLOCK THE TICKER TEXT WILL OVERLAP THE CLOCK. UNFORTUNATELY THERE'S NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT IT.
MIUI BATTERY BAR
Yep, its an MIUI battery bar. Select different colors for different battery levels or go one solid color. Adjustable width, and animations.
CPU SPIED
Shows realtime CPU info. Toggle info and governor on/off
POTATO INFO
Shows realtime phone info in drop-down
NETWORK SPEED IN STATUSBAR
Sorry this one has no controls. Its purdy though
ADDED 1% BATTERY
ADDED 3MINT QUICKLAUNCH

Are you bored of Android Auto UI? You can't stand the fact that on your car you have two clocks on the screen? Do you want to personalize your look of Android Auto tweaking the UI to your likings?
If yes is the answer to any of the questions above, you are in the right place!
Introducing my second Substratum Theme about Android Auto!
Extras For AA + Wallpapers For AA = :highfive:
Have you checked out my first substratum theme that changes Android Auto's default background? What are you waiting for? Get Wallpapers For Android Auto now and tweak Android Auto even more!
[/B]
In order to fully apply all the modifications, be sure to apply this theme on Substratum Lite
Don't know what the heck is substratum? Here's the official starting guide
Here's a preview of what this theme can do:
One button mode
Two buttons mode
L+N = Launcher + Notifications
L+Q = Launcher + Quick access app
Three buttons mode
Others:
Tweak dimensions of bottom bar and status bar
Hide Status Bar
Make heads up notifications smaller and/or translucent
Hide totally bottom bar
Known bugs:
Overlays built stays pink on Substratum Lite after reboot
Workaround: please build & install an overlay with just the custom colours and then pick another extra.
[*]Applying black icons to bottom widget will result in a tiny rectangle around the icon
I have no clue on why this happens and whether it's fixable
[*]Gradient won't apply
Woraround: if you choose a gradient, also pick the extra to apply the gradient to what you want to theme at the same time and build & install. This should fix the gradient being not visible
Also, you might want to play around with the priorities tab in Substratum Lite. If you want gradient bottom bar, put it at the very bottom.
Also please note that an Android Auto update might break the theme. So if you update Android Auto, be sure to disable theme first, or it might be unusable
