My personal steps for make your phone as fast as possible (not placebo tweaks) - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

Im not responsible if something happens to your phone.
So yeah, I'm going to get a new device this christmas because my Tipo is just... crap. Till christmas I have to survive with this phone, so I want to share for all you guys my methods to make it faster, which I have been doing since a long time ago. I'm not going to explain anything, if you want to know how to, read tutorials. I will not be using useless placebo tweaks.
Let's go:
1. Get a clean stock ROM with the earlier version you can get and flash it. (version doesnt matter if your bootloader is locked)
If you have locked bootloader you don't have to install the older, but since the most recent versions are incompatible with Vengeance Kernel, you have to install it.
For my tipo (ST21i, if you have ST21a remember to download a ST21a firmware!!!) I use this:
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B-yM_qnM8ZPRdmZ2WTVpQlNyeEk/edit?pli=1
You can install it using flashtool, take a look at this thread to see how to do it; http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-j-e/general/xperia-miro-tipo-flashing-dummies-how-t2246059
2. Install Vengeance Kernel Reloaded (BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED ONLY)
Download it from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...ent/kernel-vengeance-reloaded-paused-t2540952
You should download this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.sineo.android.noFrillsCPU if you want to properly set your max frequency to 1305MHz
3. Root your phone
- Vengeance Kernel has CWM so all you have to do is flash this http://download.chainfire.eu/204/SuperSU/
- If you can't install vengeance kernel, this should root your phone http://www.unlockroot.com/ (ALERT: IT WILL INSTALL MAANY ADWARES IN YOUR PC, SO IT WILL TAKE SOME TIME TO UNISTALL EVERY OF THEM)
4. Download ES File Explorer and give it root access
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop
Nothing much to tell; open it, slide the left side, and mark "root explorer".
5. In ES File Explorer, go to /system/app
6. Delete every FACEBOOK/TIMESCAPE/TWITTER/SONY NON ESSENTIAL STUFF (If you use this services instead of the official FB/Twitter apps then don't delete them.
If you don't really know what to delete, then just delete all apps with the facebook/twitter icons, and in your phone settings -> applications -> all and disable Timescape. *If you use them, remember, dont uninstall it, but I consider them a big resource-eaters.
**Timescape is a the widget that gives you social network updates, pretty useless imo.
7. Use fstrim app
Flash storage gets slower and slower with time if your android version is <4.3, because you don't have the linux's fstrim, (roughly explained, this feature discovers where the empty blocks are to don't overuse only a few and **** your flash storage).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grilledmonkey.lagfix&hl=es
8. Use only essential apps, not more. Clean your internal storage.
1. The less free space you have, the slower your flash storage. This is not a conventional Hard Drive that doesn't slow down if you have 99%. Flash memories like SSD, phone storage, etc... gets really slow if they are full.
2. Android has a small version of every app already open and storaged in the Cache. The more apps, the more cache ram used.
9. Don't use custom ROMs
All of them have deodexed apps, which makes the app slower to launch.
Also usually they have extra resource-eater features.
10. App suggestions
- FFS don't use SwiftKey. It's a resource eater, Google Keyboard https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.inputmethod.latin&hl=es is a nice keyboard.
- Xperia stock launcher is fine, custom launchers tend to be slow.
So... that's everyting. Most of those steps are just common sense, but I see much people installing 92345 apps and themes and everyting and complaining his phone is slow as hell.

[Q] ST26a uninstall uninstallable apps

Hate to post this, but spend sometime looking and reading different posts and site and need some direction.
OS: v4.1.2
Kernel: v3.4.0 [email protected]
Firmware: 11.2.A.0.33
Bootloader unlock allowed: No
Left the carrier I get the phone from and am on a different carrier. This is my first cellphone as I cancelled the landline since my mom passed and cell is cheaper and more convenient. Tried Titanium backup, but it stated phone needed to by rooted.
There are apps from the original carrier that were useless even if I stayed with them and just taking up space and can not be uninstalled. Example, Satellite PVR. I had added a couple of apps that I needed, but needed to go through and clean data on the phone since there was not enough room as updates were failing. Have about 200MB free now on the internal memory. Going to use the SDK to change the install location to 2 so I can move the apps and will probably install some app to force move some for them to the SD card since Sony does not support moving app to SD (did not know this until I did some searching).
Not really looking at installing a custom ROM as I only use the phone to talk. Besides each ROM has it's advantages and disadvantages and do not want to start messing around with what is currently working as one of the needed app (the reason I needed a smartphone) was not working and need coding work to get it to work on the JLo.
Thanks
hi,
you can't uninstall system apps without root permissions :/ you can root your phone using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2366577
rooting your hone isn't install custom rom or hacking system , it just give administration permission to you. like on Microsoft windows computer normal user & Admin user.
Also, one day you need to install custom rom for your phone, you can't do it. because "Bootloader unlock allowed: No"
however you can install stock based custom roms
Thanks. I read that post about rooting it.
The apps I am trying to uninstall are not android system apps, but carrier added apps that serve no purpose. The example I gave Satellite PVR is if you have as have a satellite system from that carrier and control it remotely (I am sure you knew that!). I have no satellite from that carrier so app is just taking up space.

[ROM] Semi-stock/Super-clean/Tweaked/Rooted

I've been learning how to build a custom rom for the S5...
Finally got my first stable version that I'd love to share!
Special Features:
Stock Base
Rooted - SuperSU
BusyBox integrated.
zip-aligned
Build.prop tweaks for speed, battery, usb debug
Removed all Verizon/Samsung apps that I could possibly strip out - without having any problems in settings, etc.
(Except S Voice - I just skipped including that because it's useless to me.)
WiFi Hotspot - WITH NOTIFICATION TOGGLE
**** Almost all apps have been moved to /data/app - which means you can uninstall them, not just turn them off.
Replacements:
Replaced stock launcher with Holo Launcher HD
Chrome replaced with Firefox
Messages replaced with Handcent
Includes:
AdFree (Root)
Titanium Backup
I DO NOT WARRANTY THIS ROM IN ANY WAY.
INSTALL AT YOUR OWN RISK. DONT HATE ME IF IT DESTROYS YOUR DEVICE.
I've been running it on my device for the day and it's doing great!
Install instructions:
Use safestrap
Any ROM slot should be fine. I know it's not possible currently in safestrap to make a smaller system partition, but really only 2GB is needed for system.
I'd highly recommend a clean slot -- for some reason while testing safestrap wouldn't fully wipe the data partition.
PLEASE NOTE:
After initial boot, you will be sent through the Setup Wizard, as usual.
Immediately following completion of first boot, your phone will "go crazy" for a few seconds. The select wallpaper window will open (dont do anything), then the screen will go blank for a second.
* Setup Wizard may force close. DONT PANIC!! Everything i still working right. Just click OK.
I have set up a One-Time Init script to install the WiFi Hotspot toggle into notification panel, change the default lockscreen/homescreen backgrounds, enable USB Debugging, and to set up the initial Holo Launcher icon layout.

MediaFire Old Version
Still being uploaded:
Odex Version Does not include Setup Wizard. If you can't live without it, get the old version.

I know there is a link somewhere here on xda where you can download a zip with all the original apks. Check in the Verizon S5 general section.
Found it! Look in OP Here
Note on my ROM, I seem to have forgotten to remove the security policy updates app. feel free to remove it yourself.

Sorry, maybe I didn't make it clear. what I was doing is fully wipe and flash CM11 ROM for HTC one X from scratch, and afte rall my google apps abd data is download back to normal from server, and then I flash your mod WITHOUT WIPE. But I don't see any app or other mod inside the system after reboot. I check it with root explorer. So I think I do follow your step, right ? Do you ever try to clean-wipe flash from scratch and then flash your mod ?
i checked it again and it works without aby problems on a clean install

Check if you had system partition mounted when you were installing the package, if there weren't any files installed thetn this might be the problem.
@shiftyHungary did it work for you
Good Luck !!
can any one confirm that it works
Wowza...just beathed alot of extra life into my ZTE Awe. Lolipop launcher and quickboot dont work on my device, but i can live without them. Well done
Quick boot mod only works on official cm11 builds and some other builds like armv6 build but the quick but apk works on any android device
The app just force closes whenever I try to open it. We at the Awe forums on androidforums are running an unofficial build, so it makes sense to me the mod wouldnt work but the app is not as well. Again, I can do without. Everything else, minus the launcher, appears to be working.
Though I can't find any difference when running the "boost" command. What is it supposed to do exactly?
its apically for games
Well again I didn't notice much of a difference with or without running it. Real Racing 3, GTA San Andreas and Modern Combat 4/5 run significantly better than before the mod. I was able to even record some decent game plays on each with Rec Screen Recorder with only about a 10fps drop and minor lag, something I struggled to do initially. All in all, I'll confirm this works and have already spread the word to my fellow Awe users.
Many thanks for your hard work

Using Nokia 6 with maximum potential (every feature working_VOLTE).

It works on every Nokia 6 (2017) though my model is PLE (TA-1021 Indian variant) it helps mainly to bring back volte to users who are on Ta-1000 rom. Cast works fine as you know.
This tutorial is made keeping in mind that many of Nokia 6 users didn't unlock bootloader (anyway unofficial paid method is available) and also you should have been following other threads else it might be confusing.(read all steps fully before proceeding)
Step 1 : downgrade your device install 7 to forum recovery (you should know this step).
Step 2 : Flash any Ta's(I used Ta-1021) pie rom which has volte feature from recovery and just take an apk called networkconfig in system/product/overlay folder. (Copy to sd card then to pc or directly into external sd ) I don't have back up of this app if someone provide app alone you can skip this flash.
Step 3 : wipe complete system now and flash Ta-1000 rom and root it with magisk in advanced options (if failed for one time do it twice)
Step 4 : reboot system and install magisk manager 5.9.x or older now that you are rooted do whatever you want to have space in system for your modifications delete useless apps in product folder any way if your model is not ta-1000 you can't use most of them (I deleted all of them even replaced clock calender calculator with Google apps as these apps sucks)
[Note: In product folder you have music and voice recording stock apps to make them work for non D1C devices place them in system apps]
Then delete all apps in overlays for better experience and place app you took in step 2 in here. [For volte]
Step 5 : now that you are rooted uninstall powerg3 app use link2sd if you are not familiar to do manually. (This step is to bring back battery saver toggle for non D1C device)
You may uninstall powersaver and battery manager apps. In system folder for orginal Aosp apps to function (I didn't try this before unrooting but forums said it helps in saving battery) anyway I confirm this is true as i freezed these apps now by disabling these apps to modify system.
Step 6 : you can't root it again so make sure you did all modifications you want now download magiskuninstaller and flash it now flash boot image from rom zip and reboot. Now your phone has every thing.
(If you forget something you have to do everything from first again)
Process is not as confusing as it looks only thing is I'm in hurry I will edit it once I'm free.
If this helped you please do comment and say if you do any other modifications.
Ta-1021 is hybrid slot but still you can use both sims and memory card just YouTube ( It works)
If you can rewrite this with links to specific threads according to procedure, i think many people will do this.
Thanks

Is it possible to automate multiple Google Play app install?

I think this is basically general(not device specific) question so I am posting my question here.
I have Galaxy Note 10 Plus which got OS upgrade recently. I havn't upgraded my phone so currently my phone is at Android Q(10).
I don't have much time to do OS upgrade. More specific, I don't have time to do full wipe, manually download and flash firmware with Odin, install huge amounts of apps, configure those apps etc. Well, you might think: why don't use just OTA upgrade? That's because I don't trust OTA thing. It broke my previous phone few years ago. After that, I always flash firmware with Odin after doing full wipe.
The main problem is, I can't use 'Backup Apps' because it is OS upgrade and I don't think simply moving app data from Q(10) to R(11) is good idea. I have to configure everything one by one by my hand. That will consume a lot of time. Like I said, I don't have much time for doing this. I have to save some time.
If then, I might be able to save some time when installing huge amounts of apps from Google Play Store. I guess it is about ~80 apps. If I can automate those app installation, I might be able to save some time and use that time to configuring apps.
So here is my question: How can I automate app installation in Google Play Store? I've searched Google but only got disappointing result. 'Download those APKs and install them via ADB!', 'Emulate touch input in Google Play Store!' etc. are not what I want to do. I think there would be much elegant way to do bulk install of Google Play Store apps.
TL;DR
I want to know if there is simple way to install multiple(~80) apps in Google Play Store without doing these:
- Downloading those APKs and install them via ADB
- Emulate touch input with certain app
My guess is there is no other way than to download the apps in question and afterwards install them via ADB, what all can be done by means of a common Windows Powershell file.

Wait, can I download and install apps via ADB with single powershell script? If then, I can accept it if those app which were installed by ADB can be updated with Google Play Store...
If yes, can you give me hint about that script?
Don't have such a script at my fingertips ... And I have not the time to write it ... Think it shouldn't be too difficult for you to write it ...
