[Q] Need help! Downgrade from HBoot 3.01 to 2.16 - HTC One S

Hey! I'm new at XDA so excuse me if I'm ignoring some kind of rule or something like that!
The problem itself: I have a Ville C2 phone, bootloader unlocked, with SUPERCID, and S-off with HBoot 3.01, but i want to downgrade to HBoot 2.16 in order to try other custom roms. Currently I'm using CarbonRom 4.4, but I noticed that almost every other custom roms require Hboot 2.16 or Hboot 2.15. If someone knew a way I could do that It would be really helpful! Thanks in advance and sorry for the english, I'm Latin American.
PS: I tried following the steps on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2666221 but it didn't work, I guess it was because the HBoot file there it's only for Ville S4, but I'm not really sure. Help!

Actually it's not possible to downgrade your hboot to 2.15 or 2.16 since they are only for the ville (s4 processor) and not for the ville c2 (s3 processor). I'm sorry for having to say that but you will never be able to flash roms that require those hboot versions on your phone. You can find all roms you are able to flash in the c2 development section.
Edit: I just read that you already tried to flash a ville recovery on your ville c2. Dude, if you continue flashing mods, recoveries, hboots, rom, etc. that are made for the ville on your ville c2 you are going to brick your phone.

Oh alright then, thanks for the heads up anyway! Good thing I didn't brick my phone already I guess.
Care to recommend any good custom roms?

Sorry, due to the fact that I own a ville I don't know which rom could be the right one for you.

Flash radio?

I just did the downgrade from 2.00 to 0.98 and S-off
Now I have to flash a new rom (I would try ics)
I have to update the radio?
Now is the old version(20.28b.30.0805U_38.03.02.11)
if I flash it, should I first flash the rom or radio?
which can I use, from ota or from ruu?
sorry for english

No, you don't need a new radio for ICS - this is not samsung. As a general rule, don't play with the radio unless absolutely necessary.
It's risky business, and the benefit is not worth the potential hazard.
Cheers
EDIT : As a general piece of friendly advice, I would suggest you flash stable GB ROMs and play around for a bit before jumping into the world of beta ICS ROMs. Get a feel of the stable stuff before you spoil your flashing experience with random reboots and system freezes at the onset.

which country do you llve?...and on which network?
I'd recommend the radio that I'm on (see my signature)
But to back up what has just been said, don't bother changing radios unless you experience issues.
thanks for advice
p.s.: I'm from Italy, H3G network

The reason why I asked is so that you can get a local user from the same location hopefully on the same network to recommend you a radio rather than someone on the other side of the planet

i would also higly recommend flashing the 2.00.2002 ENG HBOOT here.
it helps with the post sense 3.0 ROMS as they need the new partition table created by this HBOOT

If he's already s-off on hboot 0.98.xxxxx, won't flashing the eng hboot 2.00.2002 return the device to *locked*?

I disagree I'd flash the ENG 98.2 hboot instead.....as that works fine....unless you intend to flash a stock sense 3.0 rom all of the customs work on either.
I know that I'm on the later one, but I can't be bothered to downgrade

Hello as it happens I believe that I've already come across your question and commented on it.
You shouldn't really go off-topic in someone elses thread like you just did, you could always use PM to identify your thread to me, or wait until your thread is answered.

[Q] Update hboot and firmware?

After some extensive searching both in and out of XDA, I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. So if the information has already been posted, please cut me some slack - I did do some leg work first before posting.
I am currently on hboot 1.09 and have s-off, running ViperXL (Sense based ROM). I was wanting to flash some of the new ROMs with the 3.4 kernel which all require 1.14 hboot and 3.18 firmware. While I was looking for instructions I did stumble into some threads where people have bricked their phones flashing the 3.18 firmware updates and etc so that gave me some cause for alarm.
Bottom line...I couldn't find any exact instructions on how to update the firmware and hboot with steps to insure I don't bork my phone. If anyone's got a link or care to help me out I'd appreciate it.
You're s-off so you should be fine. The cases where users have bricked their phones happened they were SuperCID and s-on and ran an RUU, bad idea.
Is your phone an att model? Or Rogers? Or an unlocked Hong Kong version?

Hi, I tried to to S-Off my European Vodafone-Branded Ville C2, but until now I didn't find any solution:
My ville c2 is rooted and I got TWRP installed. My CID is VODAP102 and my Bootloader 3.01.0000. My Bootloader is unlocked with HTCDev-Tools
I read the moonshine Prerequisites any couldn't find any solution to install JB Firmware (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2234559), because I got another CID. Therefore I can't install JB-ROM.
TheRootNinja (Sunshine) is not support for ville c2.
Is there any solution for me to S-OFF my ville c2?

[Q]Get HBOOT 2.22 with Vodafone_DE

Hi, Today I got my HTC one mini. I want to flash InsertCoin, but as I heard, it needs Hboot 2.22. I've got 2.21.
I found this Thread:
[FIRMWARE][AT&T 3.10] 2.22 Firmware ( New Partition Layout )
But the Title says AT&T. I'm running Android 4.2.2 which is branded by Vodafone(germany).
Can I still flash it without breaking my Device?
Sorry, I'm new to Hboot updating. Never done this before.
Thanks for your Help
