are you retarded? do you even read other threads before posting a thread? What does this thread has to do with apps and themes? if you even used the search button, or even looked in n5 general forum, you would see tons of threads with this topic. hope you get banned for this!

AOSP Kernel

i know this is the "wrong thread" but we all know Q&A doesn't provide many answers to questions like this.
Why do we not have any AOSP kernels after that last source release? there are a few Sense kernels that have come from it.

No development basically. Everyone moved on. There will be a new aosp kernel released soon. I know that much.

Q&A is extremely useful for all questions.
There's not one thread on the first few pages without some response.
thanks lithid.
to the other individual...you may want to note that i said "questions like this". even when EVO development was in full swing Q&A was of good yet limited use. it is a good place to get answers...but not ALL answers. but thank you for chiming in.
Sometimes the questions have already been asked and answered, so sometimes it may be necessary to search.

As far as I can tell most if not all genuine questions get answered usually within a few minutes.
Dev section is for development I'm sure this will be moved

Sounds like we have a bunch of wanna mods, or post count whores. Its not our job to maintain threads, reguarless of this being in the wrong section or not, we should still try and work together. This might be the only thing that will continue to make android stronger, having a great support community.

Official CM?

Now that CM has released an official build for hammerhead why do they not have a thread here? I didn't want to post in any roms threads in case they said there is a specific reason or not. Have they just not gotten around to it? I much prefer xda threads to google+ to watch a rom develop.

In my experience, they have always had a thread in the past, saw no reason for that to change. I don't like everyone doing their own thing, its impossible to find Roms and dev nowadays. What happened to a good old fashioned changelog? Everyone is too good to write the features of their rom or a changelog. Idk I am a bit frustrated with nexus 5 development right now. The gs3 always had nice devs willing to post everything
Edit: yes I fully understand they owe me nothing as I do not pay, but I do support and donate to any dev who works hard and I have committed my own time to a free kernel that I spent hundreds of hours on, so please read this as me being whiny

So someone from the CM team should create a thread for each device they maintain, update it daily for you along with actually working on the builds? Why can't you read the change logs, gerrit, or github yourself and let the devs do what they do best? They shouldn't be wasting time updating threads here when they are supporting so many devices. They would need a secretary just to maintain the threads.

I created a CM 11 Discussion and Q&A thread for the Nexus 5 below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2562110
It's not a development thread, it is simple a place for people to go that want to discuss CM, chat, ask questions etc. Since I didn't see a forum for the Nexus 5 on CyanogenMod's official website, I decided to create one here for the time being. :good:

Usually, the maintainer for the device does start an official thread in the relevant forum but it would seem this time no one has done so

I find it interesting that they would have time to build for it (and I am sure several of their devs have the nexus 5) and test for it yet not make a forum. Even without a maintainer present the community would be able to solve a lot of issues

ROM That Works

If you Verizon S5 Developer Edition owners are looking for a ROM that works go here: https://www.elementalxdesigns.com/eclipse/showthread.php?12016-ROM-TW-VZW-SV-Dev-Ed-SM-G900V. This ROM is a WIP but everything works and it runs smooth. It's a TW based ROM but it runs pretty nicely and every function works. The developer makes no promise as to the speed with which he continues to develop the ROM, but it is a pretty good ROM at this point.

Sorry, I didn't intend to break any rules. I know finding a stable ROM for the S5 (developer edition) is like finding hen's teeth so I thought I'd share. If I should delete this post I will.

Been using this rom for a couple weeks. I haven't installed any of the updates yet. Everything works on it.
Can't wait until the retail S5 gets Safestrap as we should see a few TW roms. I've also been watching the unified development section. I'l looking forward to CM working out the bugs so those roms will be come stable enough for daily use.

people who have the dev edition most likely have already seen a few ROMs here that are posted in the correct areas of the Verizon thread

The operative word in the OP is "works". The five ROMs listed in the thread you provided all have major issues such as can't receive or make phone calls, camera doesn't work, no data etc. To me that is not a stable/working ROM. But, it is a start so I'm not complaining.

Yeah, I tried a lot of AOSP ROMs on my S4 and was never really satisfied with any of them. The TW ROMs just seemed to run smoother and everything worked on most of those ROMs. But, I hold out hope for the S5 and AOSP ROMs , maybe there'll be a break through

[OFF-TOPIC] The one and only S4 off-topic thread

Hello everyone,
There's a huge amount of off-topic posts even if not declared with "OT" around threads in this XDA section.
So, I thought it's best to give a dedicated place where to talk about everything, hopefully this will reduce OT posts around forums, making them a better place for us as there should be less junk while trying to find what we need.
Now with that said, this doesn't mean that there are no rules in this thread, all of XDA rules still apply.
Flaming and the belittling of other users (of any title) will not be tolerated and dealt with harshly by the moderating team.
This should be a fun place for us all, to have a chat and a general vent of frustrations.
Lol :silly:
Fair point fella, but what's wrong with people posting in the off topic forum?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/off-topic
The s4 forum is for device specific threads..

i got tired of all this roms backups and restore and lose data and wifi. once you instal a rom always there must be a weakness points even if tamirda's phoienx once you add (some) exposed moudles you will face system ui crash and reflash your rom. so in my opinion the official fw is better than custom. [Discusion]
maybe but I hate tw and it's far from perfect in my opinion

Any Android 6.0 Marshmellow ROM for OPO?

Hi guys.. now that android 6.0 is officially rolling out.. I am wondering when you guys think we'll have one for OPO. Or does anyone know of any 6.0 rom for OPO?

Found this in ten seconds:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/help/odds-6-0-rom-soon-t3217188
That's also an index thread:

My thread is actually asking a different question. But nevertheless, feel free to delete the thread and save 87 KB of server hard drive space and more importantly, justify your position as the hall monitor, instead of ignoring it and moving on.

You're essentially asking the same question. Plus you can see in the index that there is only one 6.0 ROM for this device, and that's the one that was built from the dev preview. There's no need to delete the thread, I'm just saying that if you had looked properly you would have found your answer. I'm not sure why you're becoming combative simply because I'm reminding you of your responsibility as a member of this site.
