Hi,
I wanna buy a wallet case and I'd like to use your help.
For those who have a wallet case, can you say please how (not) convenient is it to take pictures with the case?
I believe if you fold the case on its back it blocks the camera so you probably need to leave it open and I wonder if its annoying (too much)?
Also on the bills pocket, can you insert a dollar bill without folding it? like in a real wallet.. that you can put it flat in?
In my country the bills are as size of the phone it self, exactly (136.4 mm), if you got the same or close to, can you say please if you can insert the full bill into the slot?
And generally, can you recommend about it? and advise what to look for.
I mostly care for having:
1) transparency slot for ID cards
2) atleast 3 slots (prefer 4 but never saw one)
3) As much as elegant as possible, (its for a man so no sparkles and diamonds )
I found this one that seems nice:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Luxury-Wall...Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&var=&hash=item5b0702e0dc
What do you think?
edit: I also found this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/White-Walle...AU_MobilePhoneAccessories&hash=item53fc82894f
which one you'd say looks better?
Really really thanks for any help.
Few months ago I was looking for such thing. Sad that its hard to find it for Xperia Z, and most of them are just like in your links, a bit bulky and its hard to use camera.
I saw one of those and its way to big, and hard to use sometimes if you put there more than few bucks, ID card and creditcard.
I would love to get one of those instead:

or something like this:
sad that companies think only about iPhone users(probably because they like to spend even 190 euro for such things, yes some of them cost that much xD and bear in mind that its just a case)
I was thinking about making such wallet-case, by buying simple Chinese case. So I would take that plastic fastening, and use it as a support for hand made fake leather wallet(like in first image). I have some experience with needlework so I think I could made something that would not break down after few days xD
But then I realize that I have so much stuff in my wallet that even with this on my phone I still would need my wallet...

wow such a cool cases.. wish they were available for z too.. I think the better reason for lacking cases is because its less popular phone so less customers to sell them these cases.. the cases companies prefer investigating cases for bigger croud aka better success rates of selling..
somehow z1 is more famous than z and its cases are more qualited and variated.. I guess I'll just go for the 3 cards slots..
1 more tiny thing.. I have white phone.. will a brown one like my first link fits it? and will a white case get dirts easily? any experience with white leather cases?
I had few years ago white case for my SonyEricsson w890(i still love this phone....) I had "mocha brown" color of phone and even if im allergic in some way to "look of some stuff" it was pretty good looking with this white case.
But XZ is way bigger and its reversed situation but I think if its gonna be leather case with good quality and overall look of it would be "premium" I think brown color should fit to white device, but like always its all depend on personal taste...
And Yes, very often it was dirty, but it wasnt real leather so its hard to tell if real one would get so much dirt like fake leather.
Mine has 1 slot only for cc, it'll all come down to how many cards ie bank/points cards
Well eventually I bought something.. It came out with no clear slot for id as I thought so I improvised and made one..
I also cut a place for charging it while closed..
Few weeks with this and it feels pretty good..
hmmm looks cool. But still it would be nice to pack there more stuff than just few cards :/ that why those "external" versions would be much better, but as we discuss it, its damn hard to get one of those for xperia.
I bought both links Ive shown.. The second 1 came out with 3 slots and 1 of them is clear..
But it was much thicher case and felt really bad holding it or carrying it.. It is thich as a real wallet but I still cant put anything special inside..
I put 1 bill in the pocket of the case for just in case the credit card wouldnt be available..
I have to fold it on 3 thirds and make it extremely flat otherwise it will fatten the case..
On both the big one and the brown one thats all I can insert without fatten it too much but the brown 1 is much slimmer and tighten and much more elegant so I sticked to it eventually..
If you want pictures let mw know and Ill make small catalog

Pros:
-Makes typing easier
-Protects phone from scratches
-Makes phone a lot less slippery
-Nice feel in the hand
-Actually makes buttons easier to press for me
-Disguises phone (if you don't want everybody to know you have a N1)
-Stopped me from lightly tapping the outside of the screen while holding it so I don't have those inaccuracy problems because of lack of multi-touch
Neutral:
-Seems to block the bottom microphone a bit but people say I still sound crystal clear.
Cons:
-Phone doesn't look as good
-Blocks dock connectors
Should you buy it?
I think so it made my N1 a lot more usable and I feel a lot more comfortable with it now because without it my N1 feels very fragile.
I ordered this case, im glad its good, one question, is it a lint magnet?

As far as I can tell, no.
Whats' the name of that cool clock & weather widget? Been searching the market for something like that...
slightly off topic.... are you using HTC's Sense or some other apps/tweaks?

It's called Weather Widget(s) you need to get the donation version for the flip clock. No special workarounds for Sense it's just a widget that looks like HTC's flip clock

Thank you so much on that review. I just might consider on buying that case.
I have the translucent version of this case. I think it looks slightly better than the black one, though not by much.
I pretty much agree with the OP's review. The dock connectors at the bottom are blocked, so I guess after the docks come out I may be looking for something else. It's fine for now.
It does keep the camera from getting scratched up when the phone is laying on a table.
And no, it's not much of a lint magnet.
I have the same case as the OP... and I agree on his spot on review!
But... (at least for me) it is a "lint magnet".... as I think most silicon cases are.
When the "docks" come out, I think you will need to remove almost any case in order for it to fit. All "external" cases add some bulk.
My plan it to install a full body film and *still* use the silicon case.
Here is why...
I am a little anal when it comes to "protecting" my phone. I paid full price for this bad boy, and want it to last. My G1 after about 16 months still looked like it was just out of the box.
When you use these silicon cases... dust and other crap still get inside of them. Then when you take it in and out of your pocket, that stuff acts as a really fine sandpaper and after a while you will notice some wear. Now, I am not a big fan of the whole phone film protector, but I plan on keeping it hidden under my case.
How is taking the phone in and out of your pocket? Does the silicone make it more difficult?

Maybe a little microfiber or felt inside the case would make for a better fit and better protection? I'm assuming the inside is just plastic...?
Just got mine today and it feels great in my hand. Its a little bit loose around the sides, but I feel it's much more protected than with out one.

not really, its a smooth rubber.

Hello everyone! Just wanted to share this with the people here. Bought an Orange mesh case on ebay via London Magic Store and have been very happy with it. It's so nice that I am considering buying the white and possibly the blue one as well.
It doesn't provide as much protection as the gel cases, but it makes the device easier on the eye. It simply looks sleek.
Now on to the photos:

this orange one looks great!
i'll wait until my red one dies, if ever... LOL
have anyone wondered.... Why the hell the cases does not cover the bottom of the phone??????, we just need a pin size hole for the mic
all these slick great looking hybrid (soft/hard) cases are like that... why?
not like we have any connectors there
I thought the mesh cases were the ones with holes in them? Usually, on Ebay, these are just referred to as "rubberized hard back case" or something like that.

But somehow, I prefer the real mesh design (the ones with holes all over) but they don't come in orange.
As for the bottom opening, it's most probably to retain the flexibility of the case, so U can snap in and out easily. Mine came with a hairline crack at the bottom.. but it's a minor thing.. so Im not bothered.

maybe that's the reason
otherwise i can't understand why the soft gel / rubber ones are fully wrapped, but the nice stylish ones are butt naked
i already have a full gel one, it's great for protection, but sometimes it gets a bit on the edge, when the finger is too close to the end of the screen.
so i prefer the stylish models like the orange one, makes using the phone easier, the finger doesn;t get caught in the way of the gel/rubber cases when sliding close to the edge of the screen

Naiveness ;> It's to save money, simple as that. Making a case which covers the top and bottom requires more precision work in order for it to snap in/out easily enough and beside that it also require more material and design work.
Back to topic though, you tricked my expectations Not nice playing with people's mind like that, saying it's a mesh case review when it's not. Anyhow, t'is a nice case, I should be getting the black version within a day or two.
As far as protection goes... Not really expecting much, if any at all. Pretty sure I'll end up buying a case mate tough case or something similar for the scenarios when I know I'll be more likely to drop things. Too bad they're pretty expensive, in comparsion.
but the mesh case and this case is identical
just different colours
the mesh has holes, this one is solid

But can U confirm the quality and finishing is identical?
Coz if I'm not wrong, the mesh cases are official Samsung accessory, made by Anycall. There's a shop here (set up by some China nationals) that sell cheap cases and they happened to have something similar to the one shown here, with various colours... They're S$15 and look cheap. Not sure if they are the same.
Do note the price varies alot.. U$11++ for the mesh ones and U$3++ for this with free shipping..
ihave the same case from london magic store but in purple and its great, gives the phone a lot more solid feel without making it too chunky.
also recived an orange mofi case to keep it in and even with the case on it fits in fine, very pleased
Anybody knows if this cases fit Samsung Galaxy SL (i9003)? I would love to buy one, but I don't know if it's going to fit with my phone!
Thank you mates!!
Nice looking case. Im stuck with some half metal half plastic pile of depression that scratches after the slightest graze. Seems like i got what i had for the money......
I guys,
For the almighty sum of about £6 ($9.50) I put together myself this case, which for the price I think looks pretty neat, and shows you dont need to spend mega bucks to get stylish protection (however i have just order carbon chromatics skin from phantomskinz )
The products i used were as follows:
1.) Armour Case UK LINK US LINK
2.) 3m Carbon Di-Noc Wrap UK LINK US LINK
3.) A little bit of patience! It took me roughly 1 and a half hours of applying, particularly stretching round the edges in order to get a smooth finish, all it needs however is some heat from a hair dryer to get it round, but it is straight forward even for someone like me who has had no experience with the 3m Di-Noc products.
Hope people find this useful, as personally i think it looks great ,especially for the price!
Thanks
(apologies for webcam photos!!)

Sweet! Totally gonna do this.
Very good work!
Thanks for the feedback guys, i'm happy to do a tutorial if the demand exists as i appreciate some parts were quite fiddly and it did take me several attempts and 3 pieces of wrap!
That would be appreciated. I just ordered a piece of the CF stuff & while I'm pretty good with stuff like this, tips are always welcome.
This is cheaper, had one for my Nexus S.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Carbon-Fiber-Case-Cover-HTC-Sensation-G14-/230668774526
That case doesn't protect the front edge of the phone! When you drop it, its a 50:50 chance that its going to land on either the back or the front, no point just having one side protected, surely?! At least with the one i linked the screen is protected by few mm around the edge and They come with free screen protector
Oh and another point, where's the fun in just buying that!? Its all about adding your own touch to these sorts of things!!
looks amazing. it would be better for me to replace only plastic pieces( leave aluminium piece). anyway it looks good.
Another tip on how to put the CF on clean around the edges is to use a lighter. Just run it across the material a few times then stretch and push

Really?! Wont that just melt the CF? I just held the hair dryer to it, till it was soft then it was a lot easier to manipulate around the edges!
Also guys maybe thinking of making a few then possibly selling, what are your thoughts?
Thanks!

I'm not really sure man, apart from a few people, no one really seems to be interested! Would have to work how many to make, how much bulk buy discount i could get etc. If say 5-10 people were interested i would definitely be interested, but there's also the issue of the majority of you guys living in the US, which adds postage etc doesn't seem completely worth given (as linked you can get similar for $5 posted.
Also do i need special permission if i were to sell products through here?
I'm interested....I guess make a thread in the marketplace as well. Might boost more people.

For reference, phantomskinz products + service = ****!
I'm also interested!!
From amazon http://www.amazon.com/Released-Arte..._15?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1426901338&sr=1-15
The case has a very solid, tight-fitting plastic enclosure for the phone. I'm quite sure that it's solidly ensconced and won't fall out. It appears to be an inexpensive plastic case married to the wonderful leather wallet. I'm all about taking care of my phone, so the struggle to get the phone in was actually a happy event. It means the phone is solidly in the case.
The leather is distressed and really nice. Solid and elegant in the same way that a beautiful brief case from the 20s is elegant and solid. The distressed patina makes it feel comfortable, yet durable. Then again, I carry a fountain pen, so perhaps you should take that into account during this review.
I'm currently carrying three insurance cards (don't you love the modern age, wherein you can't carry ONE card because that would be too easy) in the upper slot. The lower slot has two credit cards (well, really, ONE credit card and one debit card, but who's counting?!). You can fit cards behind the window ID slot, but I don't. There's also a full-length slot behind the card slots. I keep some cash there, but it's not really capable of holding your hordes of filthy lucre. I may end up buying a money clip, but I'm ok with that, honestly. And while you store 4 cards in the case , it will still be closed flat as there is a invisible close at side.
One of the questions asked variously in the Q&A section is whether this phone comes with a wrist strap. If you have small hands, yes, but my meat hooks couldn't even begin to get into the loop. The case also comes with an attached elastic loop for holding the wallet closed. It's already frayed. I'm dismayed. I looks flay...er...I'll stop now. I don't think the elastic closure loop will survive the first 28 days, and we all know what happens 28 days later...Anyway, the wrist strap and elastic closure are superfluous to me, so their failures don't matter much to me.
The ONE issue that you'll find throughout the reviews is shipping time. You can use amazon prime or choose seller fulfillment , you will get it within 2 days if you are a prime member in amazon.com , anyway , seller shipping will be quick too as they are from Arkansas.BUT The release day is 15 April
I'm the weird guy who carries fountain pens and a saddlebag briefcase (I want to distress it myself!). I live digitally for work, but I appreciate analogue and patina and function. This wallet meets my needs nearly perfectly. Why doesn't it rate a 5 star, then? It isn't life-changing. That's my requirement for 5 stars. Something that completely alters my worldview. It's a phone case and wallet in one. This isn't monumental, but it's very worthy of consideration. Now, a Kitchenaid Mixer, wallet, phone case...THAT could be a 5 star!

That bit with the see through compartment ruins it for me. And so many slots for cards, surely thats too many pockets than you actually need.
You're going to have either loads of empty slots to keep the case looking thin, but once you've got all the card slots filled up, its going to be like carrying a Gameboy from the 90's in your pocket.
Don't get me wrong, the leather on this does look nice but I think the manufacturer has gone a bit overboard with the number of card slots, should have kept it to 2 max three.
Thanks for posting though, not seen too many wallets around.

Thanks for testing that out. I guess these days most people only carry 2-3 cards so this case will be fine to fulfil that purpose. And if you say it closes flat then that's pretty good as normally the more cards you put the bulkier the case gets.

cool
I picked up the Moto Mod Case from Verizon a couple of days ago and figured I'd do a quick review for anyone else who was thinking about getting it.
I tend to be a person who likes to carry a lot of things with me just in case I need them. For a couple of years now I've had a small camera bag kept in my backpack that I take with me to and from work or anytime I travel. In that camera case were chargers and cables, some memory cards/flash drives and a multi-card reader. This was my "just in case" bag and worked well, except that it was relatively bulky and fat. Now that I have a Moto Z Force and I've picked up a couple of mods, I figured I'd look at the Mod Case as an alternative to this.
The case it's very nicely sized for me... while taller and wider than the camera bag I was using, it's about an inch less "fat", which means it fits better in my backpack where I have plenty of vertical space but didn't want my bag bulging so much.
The case itself is a relatively rigid shell wrapped in fabric. It feels like it's good quality. There's a carry handle at the top and a loop with a carbineer attached. The loop doesn't feel SUPER solid, so I don't think I'd ever risk hooking it on the outside of a bag and not worrying that it might get ripped away.
The zip feels good quality and has a double zipper head on it. When open you're presented with three "zones." The first zone is the inside cover. Here is a soft mesh pouch that closes with a zipper. In this pouch you can put chargers and cables, etc. There's a decent amount of space here, but do note that it's not overtly deep, perhaps a cm or 1/2 and inch. You can put bigger things in here, but they will bulge beyond the the normal thickness.
The next zone is a Mod "Folder." This is a flap that is attached to the case at the handle end. It's wrapped in a soft fabric/foam and has pouches for four mods, two on the top, two underneath. All three of the modes I have (JBL, Projector, Incipio Battery) as well as a couple of back fit very nicely in these pouches. Tight enough to hold them securely, but loose enough that it isn't super hard to get out. You will need to hands to remove them generally.
The final zone is the bottom of the case. Here are a couple more pouches made of the same material mounted to a board that is held in place by velcro. This is a nice option as you can use 'em for more mods if you want (or other small things) or take the bottom piece out all together to put in a larger item like a laptop chargers. The bottom is a little deeper than the pouch in the cover, but remember it's designed to handle two mods more or less touching each other.
Over all I was very impressed with the quality of the case. It feels really nice and seems like it'll do a good job. Further, I'm happy to report that it isn't branded as Verizon... there isn't a single Verizon logo on the bag at all so if that's would be a negative to you, you needn't worry. The bag is mostly black with a few red highlights (nod to verizon there I guess), and it has a small metal logo plate on the front that simply says: DROID.
Let me know if you have any specific questions and I'll do my best to answer them.

Nice review! I didn't even know this case existed as I just picked up my Moto Z yesterday. I might have to take a look at this case as I to carry around a bag (I have for years) and one designed a little more for Moto Mods would be handy.
Also, do you know any good sources (besides Verizon that is...) for reviews of Moto Mods?
They seem to be slim due to the phone's lack of popularity...
Probably the best place would be right here. I have three mods (other than the back plates).
Projector: I have a bit more involved review of the projector in another thread. But the short version: Cool toy, but not really worth the price unless you do a LOT of presentations. Works okay in a dim room, needs a pretty dark room for things like movies an TV shows that aren't really bright. If you've got the extra cash lying around it's nice to have an works great if it's dark enough.
Battery Pack: Highly recommended if you're a power user or often away from an outlet for extended period of time. Wireless charging if a nice add on. Doesn't add a lot of thickness and some (myself included) keep it on all the time except when using other mods.
JBL Speakers: Great sound and really nice if you use your phone a lot for music. Probably more expensive than comparable BT speakers, but also nice to not have to worry about pairing, also has a battery but can draw from phone battery too, so, unlike a BT speaker, if you run out of battery but still have some in your phone, you're okay. The kickstand is nice too... I actually used the Speaker mod on a plane trip just for the kickstand!
this case looks cool
just re-read that, and it is a great review. i bought this case this week, it is pretty cool, just need more mods to fill it up
Got the case and love it
