Quick Review On My N1 Case - Nexus One Accessories

So I picked up THIS case from Amazon there what I think...

Pros:
-Makes typing easier
-Protects phone from scratches
-Makes phone a lot less slippery
-Nice feel in the hand
-Actually makes buttons easier to press for me
-Disguises phone (if you don't want everybody to know you have a N1)
-Stopped me from lightly tapping the outside of the screen while holding it so I don't have those inaccuracy problems because of lack of multi-touch
Neutral:
-Seems to block the bottom microphone a bit but people say I still sound crystal clear.
Cons:
-Phone doesn't look as good
-Blocks dock connectors
Should you buy it?
I think so it made my N1 a lot more usable and I feel a lot more comfortable with it now because without it my N1 feels very fragile.

I ordered this case, im glad its good, one question, is it a lint magnet?

As far as I can tell, no.

Whats' the name of that cool clock & weather widget? Been searching the market for something like that...

slightly off topic.... are you using HTC's Sense or some other apps/tweaks?

It's called Weather Widget(s) you need to get the donation version for the flip clock. No special workarounds for Sense it's just a widget that looks like HTC's flip clock

Thank you so much on that review. I just might consider on buying that case.

I have the translucent version of this case. I think it looks slightly better than the black one, though not by much.
I pretty much agree with the OP's review. The dock connectors at the bottom are blocked, so I guess after the docks come out I may be looking for something else. It's fine for now.
It does keep the camera from getting scratched up when the phone is laying on a table.
And no, it's not much of a lint magnet.

I have the same case as the OP... and I agree on his spot on review!
But... (at least for me) it is a "lint magnet".... as I think most silicon cases are.
When the "docks" come out, I think you will need to remove almost any case in order for it to fit. All "external" cases add some bulk.
My plan it to install a full body film and *still* use the silicon case.
Here is why...
I am a little anal when it comes to "protecting" my phone. I paid full price for this bad boy, and want it to last. My G1 after about 16 months still looked like it was just out of the box.
When you use these silicon cases... dust and other crap still get inside of them. Then when you take it in and out of your pocket, that stuff acts as a really fine sandpaper and after a while you will notice some wear. Now, I am not a big fan of the whole phone film protector, but I plan on keeping it hidden under my case.

How is taking the phone in and out of your pocket? Does the silicone make it more difficult?

Maybe a little microfiber or felt inside the case would make for a better fit and better protection? I'm assuming the inside is just plastic...?

Just got mine today and it feels great in my hand. Its a little bit loose around the sides, but I feel it's much more protected than with out one.

not really, its a smooth rubber.
...with the case on, it will not fit in the nexus one soft sleeve, but it fits perfect in my g1 sleeve

Crystal Skin Gel Case?

Does anybody have good photos of one of the crystal skin cases on their N1? I'm on the verge of ordering one, but I want to get a better look at how much bulk it adds. Most of the pics on the sites I've found are low res or at a bad angle.
Thanks.

If so, I'm wondering if anyone has tried these..?
i have one... its really nice. Very snug fit and has all the cut outs for 2nd mic, speaker, flash, ect...
well made and highly recommended. especially at such a cheap price.
attached a couple of pics with the case on my nexus... hope this helps.

Its similar to the cases for the mytouch/ magic but not as sturdy, probably because the phone is thinner and is really really snug. Unlike the silicone cases you cant pull this off just taking it out of your pocket.
The case thickness is slightly higher than the camera on the back which protects it somewhat from scratching the plastic lens cover.
On the front the ridge is high enough to prevent accidental screen touching tap the edges of the screen.
The buttons are still easily operable and does not interfere with the charger, mics, or speaker at all. It does cover two of the three gold connectors so it might be a problem when the docks come out.
I just ordered the very same case on ebay, along with the clearfreak screen protector.
Case seems to fit snug. Nice!!
Looks a lot better than I imagined.

Can you try your slip in case that the google nexus came with and let me know if it slips it quite well?

It doesn't fit, if your force it in, it might go in but you would have a tough time pulling it out.

Anyone try this case with the old G1 cover since the N1 cover did not fit?
It will do until Otterbox or Seido come out with something.. Picked up Phantomz screen protector..

How easy/difficult would it be to remove the ugly (in my opinion) pattern from the skin?

I bought one because I'd rather not have my phone all scratched up. I will be attempting to remove the pattern when it arrives, probably with some nail polish remover first and then onto some acid.

This is what my wife is wanting... just want to make sure its snug, looks of quality, and has all the necessary holes cut out.

Agreed +1.
Yeah. I love the material, clarity, and fit (I have the green one) but I don't care for the pattern. However, I realized that I don't actually see the pattern all that often so it doesn't bother me. I'm thinking of getting another; I got mine from Amazon (it was on there at least the day before the phone was announced) and I might get the blue one next.
I found a smoke-colored one on Ebay. I guess I'll pick up the smoke one, as the back of the phone is dark-gray, the checker pattern doesn't stick out as much as the white (or green or blue or red or purple) one.

I just got mine today. I love how snug the skin fits on the N1 and also the pattern isn't so ugly in person. IMO this is currently the best body protection for the phone and it's worth every penny spent on it.

Short Review and Photos of Mesh (Hard Case) Casing

Hello everyone! Just wanted to share this with the people here. Bought an Orange mesh case on ebay via London Magic Store and have been very happy with it. It's so nice that I am considering buying the white and possibly the blue one as well.
It doesn't provide as much protection as the gel cases, but it makes the device easier on the eye. It simply looks sleek.
Now on to the photos:

this orange one looks great!
i'll wait until my red one dies, if ever... LOL
have anyone wondered.... Why the hell the cases does not cover the bottom of the phone??????, we just need a pin size hole for the mic
all these slick great looking hybrid (soft/hard) cases are like that... why?
not like we have any connectors there
I thought the mesh cases were the ones with holes in them? Usually, on Ebay, these are just referred to as "rubberized hard back case" or something like that.

But somehow, I prefer the real mesh design (the ones with holes all over) but they don't come in orange.
As for the bottom opening, it's most probably to retain the flexibility of the case, so U can snap in and out easily. Mine came with a hairline crack at the bottom.. but it's a minor thing.. so Im not bothered.

maybe that's the reason
otherwise i can't understand why the soft gel / rubber ones are fully wrapped, but the nice stylish ones are butt naked
i already have a full gel one, it's great for protection, but sometimes it gets a bit on the edge, when the finger is too close to the end of the screen.
so i prefer the stylish models like the orange one, makes using the phone easier, the finger doesn;t get caught in the way of the gel/rubber cases when sliding close to the edge of the screen

Naiveness ;> It's to save money, simple as that. Making a case which covers the top and bottom requires more precision work in order for it to snap in/out easily enough and beside that it also require more material and design work.
Back to topic though, you tricked my expectations Not nice playing with people's mind like that, saying it's a mesh case review when it's not. Anyhow, t'is a nice case, I should be getting the black version within a day or two.
As far as protection goes... Not really expecting much, if any at all. Pretty sure I'll end up buying a case mate tough case or something similar for the scenarios when I know I'll be more likely to drop things. Too bad they're pretty expensive, in comparsion.
but the mesh case and this case is identical

But can U confirm the quality and finishing is identical?
Coz if I'm not wrong, the mesh cases are official Samsung accessory, made by Anycall. There's a shop here (set up by some China nationals) that sell cheap cases and they happened to have something similar to the one shown here, with various colours... They're S$15 and look cheap. Not sure if they are the same.
Do note the price varies alot.. U$11++ for the mesh ones and U$3++ for this with free shipping..
ihave the same case from london magic store but in purple and its great, gives the phone a lot more solid feel without making it too chunky.
also recived an orange mofi case to keep it in and even with the case on it fits in fine, very pleased
Anybody knows if this cases fit Samsung Galaxy SL (i9003)? I would love to buy one, but I don't know if it's going to fit with my phone!
Thank you mates!!
Nice looking case. Im stuck with some half metal half plastic pile of depression that scratches after the slightest graze. Seems like i got what i had for the money......

It looks like a spitting image of a Spigen case. It does look nice just wonder how much bulk it adds, I know I sound like a broken record but I do not like cases that add too much bulk.
I have a Spigen case for my Nexus 5, and it is very nice but adds a lot of bulk.

yea i agree with this i had a spigen neohybrid for nexus 5 made it thick. and since its not rounded like the case in the back you lose the functionality of the rounded back where you can tip the phone one way or another for the display when its on its back. but i like it too.

I also picked one up on amazon yesterday. Will post some pics once it arrives.
Got the case
I got the case in blue. The price is right for sure. I actually love the case because it makes it angled and square. The buttons on the side feel awesome to click now too. The cons are that after two days of having it in my pocket the outside blue plastic corners are picking up the black from my pockets. That's the only issue really, my headphones and charger fit perfectly on it and it feels snug, there is a slight bend in the rubber at the top but NBD. Also, the plastic outside is mat, not shiny though the pictures would have you believe otherwise. Let me know if anyone else wants detail or pics.
how thick does it make the phone?
anyone try the BRILA cases also?
I am getting my replacement today... I will post some pix
eh, mine comes tomorrow lol impatient
size
About 1.5cm, still fits in my pocket, all good. Gonna pick up a darker colour one today because the blue edges are turning dark.
It does some damage on the leather back

This company is legit. I got a replaced back for the color because it got messed up. They were super cool about it.

My review of the Orzly Air Stand Case with pics

Hi all,
Was able to get a hold of this case from Orzly for the Nexus 6P… Here's my review of it…
It's dual layered, both layers are made from the same material but they both have different properties. The first layer is a flexible rubber TPU and the back is a tougher harder material. The 6P is already quite a heavy device, the Air Stand case isn't too heavy so this helps to not turn the phone into a brick! The back also has a soft touch matt texture which feels good to hold in the hand, although made from plastic, it feels far from plastic. The matt coating definitely gives it a premium feel.
This is definitely the first type of case that I have seen with this particular type of design and I have to admit, it works and looks good! I have the silver 6P so through the tiny holes, you can see the colour of the device, it's not overpowering or doesn't end up looking like a pattern on a bad Christmas jumper. The patterned hole design is a thumbs up for me.
The case also features a simple kick stand to put the phone in a horizontal position. It's a feature that has been around for a while now, so although not mind-blowing, it's handy when watching anything on the phone or just keep on a table when I'm not using it.
I had a Nilkin screen protector on the device, but when I installed the case onto the phone, the screen protector began to lift. Wasn't sure if there was going to be compatibility issues so got in touch with Orzly who confirmed that the case will work with their screen protectors but can not comment on the compatibility with other branded screen protectors.
Overall I would definitely recommend this case to anyone who owns a Nexus 6P that's looking for something different. It's not quite used to what I've seen before but once tested it's grown on me and i really like it and am constantly being asked by people where they can buy this case
Here's a few pictures, if you would like to see more pictures or have any questions pls let me know

Thanks for this info, its look quite nice but I've not seen this case anywhere. Where did you buy it from and do they have them in other colours? And you mentioned dual layers, so does the inner layer have matching holes too - because i quite like the idea of the phone showing through. Final question I promise is this bulky? I know you said its not heavy but i am really not one for the otterbox style cases ...

It looks quite slim, I don't think it's too bulky. Also I saw this picture on their website which should answer your question regarding the matching holes on the inner layer.
It's dual layered around the edges which is good as the phones more likely to drop on the sides, edges or corners more than anything if you drop it!
Is the stand sturdy .... Or is it a flimsy piece of plastic? I hope to not notice it's there unless needed, then pull it out and it holds phone with no issue
What are your thoughts?

Based on the pictures alone, it looks sturdy enough, but bearing in mind it's a very small kick stand, but have seen something similar on other branded cases and not seen or heard any complaints.
Thanks for the review! Definitively one of the case's i will have to consider.
Can you use the kickstand to use the phone more easily one handed?

This looks like what I have been looking for but i am unsure of the terms used to describe it. Will this be OK for the "Honor 6 Plus" ?

Accessories Slim case without bulky lip around the front?

I use gesture navigation so I'm looking for a case that doesnt go around and up so much that it creates a 2mm high rim around the phone.
I was looking for a hardcase for that reason but I couldnt find any good ones and all the soft ones had this rim.
Any recommendations?
That's to protect it from face plants... and is a good feature. Google gestures suck; One Handed Operation plus is better, more robust, versatile with almost unlimited customization.
It uses the sides not the top/bottom and works well with the N10+'s curved display and Zizo Bolt case with slightly raised side guards. Top/bottom case guards are higher. I do most my navigation now from the side.
I believe you can load One Handed Operation plus on Pixels, it's on Playstore. Maybe not; can't tell for sure. If you can, try it. It uses very little resources or battery.

Sure it's a good feature, just not for me, I don't drop my phone a lot, I'm just concerned about the camera bar getting scratched when it sits on the table.
One Handed Operation + doesnt work for pixel phones or at least not for the pixel 6a.
I checked out the case though but its like super bulky and I'm looking for something that doesn't make the phone that much thicker than it already is.
Thanks for the reply anyway.

Thank you as well for answering my question. I was afraid that might be the true. The app then likely works only with One UI.
Alternatively you could machine, sand, file, cut, etc the extra material off to get the right height. Occasionally that's the only way you get it perfect.

Ok here's the Amazon case , yes it's thicker than the post suggests but thought I'd post it anyway rather than open another thread . The top lip looks thin cause I stuck a screen protector on , but phone fits nice n snug in the case . It'll do for £7.99

Torras Shockproof.... Best slim case out there
I got the one @PeterImmel has now.
Was a bit of a mess tho,.. my localised Amazon has other cases than amazon.com so I got the same kind but from a different manufacturer and even though I could find the Torras on amazon.com and buy it, it's nowhere to be found on the local amazon page.
Looks very nice tho, I'll keep it in mind if the one I got now is no good.

Can't stand bulky cases either. I got the 6a Grip from dbrand. I think it was a little expensive, but worth it. It starts off flush with the screen in the middle, then raises slightly near the top/bottom of screen on either end.
About 1/4 of the case (middle area your thumb lands to swipe back) is basically flush with the screen.
I could take pictures of it, if you're still interested, or some reviews might highlight it.
Maybe my Spigen Liquid Armor is 'low' enuff for you...the runner round the camera block is minimal....1mm maybe. Otherwise, it's just a thin, well fitted rubber 'skin' that REALLY helps with grip with really no 'bulk' to speak of...
