Discharging ("deep-cycling") your battery? STOP doing that.

If you like to deep-cycle (fully drain/recharge) their battery, you should stop doing that. Many of us got used to deep-cycling the Ni-Cd batteries, and didn't notice the smooth transition to Li-Ion batteries.
In fact, I can't think of a phone (or any other gadget) that would use Ni-Cd battery today. AFAIK, all modern phones/PDAs have Li-Ion batteries (including Raphael) which you SHOULD NOT fully discharge.
Here's a quote from wikipedia.org (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Li-ion_battery):
Like many rechargeable batteries, lithium-ion batteries should be charged early and often. However, if they are not used for a long time, they should be brought to a charge level of around 40%–60%
Lithium-ion batteries should not be frequently discharged fully and recharged ("deep-cycled"), but this may be necessary after about every 30th recharge to recalibrate any electronic charge monitor (e.g. a battery meter). This allows the monitoring electronics to more accurately estimate battery charge.[27] This has nothing to do with the memory effect.
Li-ion batteries should never be depleted to below their minimum voltage, 2.4 V to 3.0 V per cell.
Li-ion batteries should be kept cool. Ideally they are stored in a refrigerator. Aging will take its toll much faster at high temperatures. The high temperatures found in cars cause lithium-ion batteries to degrade rapidly.
Li-ion batteries should not be frozen [50] (most lithium-ion battery electrolytes freeze at approximately −40 °C; however, this is much colder than the lowest temperature reached by household freezers).
Li-ion batteries should be bought only when needed, because the aging process begins as soon as the battery is manufactured.[27]
When using a notebook computer running from fixed line power over extended periods, consider removing the battery[51] and storing it in a cool place so that it is not affected by the heat produced by the computer.

bought 1900mah batteries capacity shows stock batteries1500mah?

hello,
i replaced the original battery 1500 mah with 1900mah battery by ebay. but the capacitiy of the new one shows 1500 mah wich will not be true.
so what to do in order to show the 1900 mah.
thx
Your phone cant show battery capacity, maybe you are using some software that shows standard capacity (because it was written to show that).
oh realy? its not possible to display the real capacitiy after replacing in different batteries in differen mAh?
hence i cannot determine the capacitiy of the battery, i must blind trust what written on the battery?
thx
U have to mesure it more professionally or your software is good and your battery is really a 1500mah. But most of all - check it in real life usage and compare.

[Q] Battery Capacity in mAh?

Does anyone know the exact battery capacity of the ASUS TF101?
It's not written anywhere!
All I see is "9.5 hours of battery life"
The battery is 2S (2 - cell) 3300 mAh Lipo
here are the info:

and the battery:

How big is the S7 battery actually? Android OS Battery stats make no sense

I've been getting horrible battery life and have some bad wakelocks from System, OS and Play Services....but my question here what does the OS see as the battery size? I thought the S7 had a 3000 mAh battery. But when I look at my battery stats, I see 456 mAh calculated for Android System. If that has used up 25% of my consumed battery, that suggests that the OS thinks I've used 1824 mAh. And for the OS thinks I've got 13% remaining after using 1824 mAh, the OS must think I have a battery that's only 2096 mAh in capacity. When I do the same calculation for the other listed battery users, I keep getting a number roughly equivalent to 2100-2200 mAh capacity. So is it a 2100 mAh battery, or 3000 mAh?
See here for screenshots - that's with only 1hr 23min SOT. This is a Verizon S7 (not Edge), so it's SD820.

Battery mod

I have a pixel 3 with a fairly small battery capacity of about 2900mah, and I want to try adding a new battery with a larger capacity (8000mah) I want to know how to change the settings in the sys/class/power_supply/bms/charge_full, so that it can be increased from 2900mah to 8000mah so that when charging the 8000mah battery capacity can be fully charged. or will even if I don't change the chage_full setting the battery will still be fully charged?
