Title says it all. I'm rooted and have tried changing roms over and over again but the problem still occurs. My g2 constantly reboots itself. It doesn't go for usually more then 10 minutes before it restarts. Sometimes it won't boot up. Is this a hardware problem? Could it possibly be a battery problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I might possibly be hardware....have you reflashed your phone via LG Flash tools? or only via custom recovery? I recently used LG Flash tools to get back to "True" stock....I was having issues with my phone hanging up right after I answered the phone and using LG Flash tools method it fixed all the issues I was having.

That is a good place to start....remember this is for AT&T D800 only.

Hello, I'm having the same problem after a year of using my phone without issues, do you find a solution?
I noticed that my phone gets hot on the back where is the camera, after rebooting.
Please someone give me an advice, I love this phone
G2 constantly reboots
Hi, I'm having the same problem Is there any solution please?
Just like the previous poster, my phone gets hot on the back where is the camera, after rebooting.
Ditto on mine as well. Gets hot on back near camera (that's where the cpu is) and reboots so bad it even happens during lg tools download to phone. I think it is hardware failure in a power chip, or the cpu is shot. Maybe heat damage from hot car? Too bad, I loved this phone.

Hey ppl. I have a really BIG problem with my G2x and I was wondering if you could help me out. I ran the LG Mobile Support Tool to update my G2x to 2.3.3. After the process, my phone is stuck on "S/W Upgrade Please wait while upgrading..."
I tried using to LG Support Tool and it's saying that I'm running V21e
I can't boot into recovery. All I get is "S/W Upgrade Please wait while upgrading..."
Before doing this I had done a backup through the recovery. How do I get it to bootup?
Any advice and assistance would be greatly appreciated.
I have the same problem! Stuck on "S/W Upgrade Please wait while updating..."
So pulling the battery out, unplugging the USB and pressing vol-down + power doesn't boot to recovery? Did it freeze at 4% or get all the way through and now you're having this problem?
I'd suggest shutting the phone completely off and trying to root it again using NVFlash: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054492&highlight=nvflash
I think that's the only real option if you can't get into recovery. I'm not guaranteeing it will work, but it's worth a shot.
If you can get it rooted again and get back to CWM, flash 2.3.3 using this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179748 instead of LG's awful garbage updater.

It went all the way through.
I did the battery pull and pressed Power + Vol-Down and it didn't boot into recovery.
Same issue.
I've been working on this since about 1:00 PST.
I've tried 32 bit laptop. 64 bit desktop.
When I had initially got it going after about an hour, it basically had gotten to the "download" tab and constantly got stuck a 4%.
I have never had root on the phone, no custom roms or anything. Just a $543 brick.
Called LG was told to "Pull the battery and put it back in". Seriously? You guys had me on hold for 5 minutes and wasted 15 minutes of my time to tell me that?
Then I was told by the same guy if that doesn't work there are no other current workarounds other than sending the phone back to them.
No thanks.
Then I was live chatting with an LG guy named Jorge at the same time. He told me we needed to hard reset. Told him can't do that because the "S/W Upgrading" screen will just flash back after a power plus volume up hold. He said he believes we're having issues because it is so new, they seemed to have been blind sided by this. He said that they think that everyone was trying to update at the same time, possibly suggesting server overload.
Anyway, I've tried multiple computers, multiple USB ports on each. Multiple USB cables, and I even tried using a KDZ file that apparently housed the entire update. But for the life of me, I have no clue how to flash a .kdz file.
Any suggestions are MORE than welcome!
Thanks guys, and good luck.

Yea. I tried it and still nothing.
I'm at the same place. I have CWM installed and can access it. I've flashed different ROMS and tried to restore my old one. It all works, I'm sure, but I can't get past that S/W Update screen to find out!
Sorry guys, wish I could help more but I'm stumped. I'm sure there are people on here smarter than I am who can figure this out. It seems to be a widespread problem so hopefully someone will figure out a fix. Damn LG s/w updater. This isn't the first time it's bricked phones.

Sorry, I know nothing about LG phones. You might be better looking for a thread for the ROM you flashed or for your phone's thread. You will probably get better response and help.
Good luck.

Try pressing vol down and then power, so you will get to the recovery.
From there, do all wipes and formats and then reboot.
Theoretically, this could solve your problem.

There, fixed.
th LG update tool is absolutely horrible. I was updating my firmware with this tool and wifi disconnected a few times, (on talktalk, horrible provider) it continued with the firmware download nonetheless, it seems that it does not check properly that the downloaded firmware file is corrupt or not and continues flashing regardless.
Suffice to say, the wifi disconnect happened at around 10% of the download and when the firmware was flashed, it generated the error at around the same time resulting in a phone that looked completely dead. black screen, no lights etc.
Thankfully got it working via the powerup and cable insert and reflashed the recovery from the lg tool.
I wonder how many LG optimus phones get sent back to the company for fixing. I have flashed many phones and devices, never had this type of problem before.
Hey, guys!
First post from me in this forum, although I have been searching for some things for some times.
So, the problem is that I had Cyanogenmod 7.2 on my LG P500 for couple months. And ROM was working ok, but there was some problems and I thought I should get back to stock ROM, because actually it was working better and smoother. So, I searched for stock roms for my phone, found one and started to flash. Everything flashed well, phone booted up and then wave of errors started to come. So I thought that it ain't gonna be usable and tried to install a stock rom through official LG Updater, which obviously wasn't a good thing to do. everything, downloaded, installed, phone booted up and I was waiting with hope that it will boot up (android loading screen at least was showing), but it didn't happen. After that I managed to power phone off with getting battery out and then I tried to fix everything with one tutorial I saw in this forum with kdz updater. but at the begging it couldn't connect with my phone and after that screen showd Emergency Mode. nothing I could do, again took out battery to power it off and now phones doesn't show any signs of life.
What does it mean (maybe my phones is same as brick) and what should I do?
I would appreciate your help.

Plug in the wall charger for about an hour, and then try the buttons - press power button+ volume up button + back button together
keep pressed all three for long duration (maybe 8-10 secs you see yellow screen with written Emergency Mode). Then you are in Emergency Mode.
If no screen yet, then bricked - only LG repair center option.
Hey guys
So a couple of days ago I was browsing on facebook when suddenly my One froze and rebooted. After that I suddenly didn't have any connectivity.
I figured I might be able to fix this by rebooting the phone, but after the reboot the phone worked for two seconds and then froze, restarted etc.. It keeps doing that.
Now I looked up if this was a common problem and it is, there is also a fix for it. The fix requires fastboot, but I can't get fastboot to work because I get the QHSUSB_BULK error on my PC.
This usually indicates a hardbrick but my phone still starts up, I can also boot into recovery, I just can't use the fastboot.
Is there anyone who can help me?
Thanks in advance.

I believe there is a way to recover from hardbrick by installing colorOS and reinstalling CM.

No problem. Do let us know how it goes.
I accidentally dropped my OPO face first from about chest height earlier today. The screen didn't break but now my phone is acting weird.
First, it was okay but after a few minutes, it hanged up and was on a boot loop. I tried a factory reset but now I'm unable to get wifi (wifi button is off with a orange square around it) and the boot loop and hanging still persists. The phone does heat up and seems to go out of the loop if its cool enough. Hangs up if it gets hot.
Any help on fixing this? I'm going to try a fresh install in a few minutes but I'm kinda feeling this is a hardware issue already.
The fact that it still does it even after doing a factory reset is concerning. Try doing a complete factory restore as per this thread and then also try this. If both fail to resolve the issue i suspect your hardware has been damaged and i don't see you fixing the issue one your own unfortunately.
Yeah, unfortunately I did both already. Installed stock build and the Audio FX fix. The Audio FX bug is still showing up though. Not sure if I have done anything wrong in replacing persist.img

You could also try flashing this. Though i think its unlikely to fix the issue, you don't have anything to lose at this point...this also re-flashes the reserve4 partition.

Just an update, my phone is now dead. After rebooting several times this morning, it suddenly lost power. Not even charging helps. No response from power button and can't even fastboot. I guess the main board got affected when it fell and fried itself up in the process.
Crap. I'm really sad about this..I'll probably try opening it up and see if anything got dislodged. You think that's a good idea?

I sorry to hear that bro, its a bummer. You might as well open it up yourself and see if you can find anything obvious wrong with it, or you could try and get in contact with OnePlus and find out if they can do a repair of sorts, but i wouldn't get my hopes up on that though.

Well, it seems there's power. The phone is slightly hot when touching it. I tried plugging via PC and Windows recognizes there's a USB device although after trying to install drivers, it prompted me that the device was not recognized. Not sure what to do at this point though.

It could perhaps, but lets start here: Can you boot into fastboot mode? If YES does it reboot itself while in fastboot or is it actually stable as in it stays in fastboot?

It's actually quite stable. I had never seen it reboot when in Fastboot. It's also worth mentioning that if I'm in Recovery Mode (TWRP installed), the phone also doesn't reboot.
I also noticed that ever since the drop/boot loop/hangs, my phone reboots very long (around 2-3 minutes it it does boot into the system; which happens less frequently than the boot loop). Before it took probably a minute at most to reboot.

Another update. So here's what I found out. My phone needs to be super cooled for it to work. I tried putting it in front of the air conditioner. If it's really cool, WIFI works. When it gets slightly warm, my phone hangs up. When it reboots, I lose wifi. After that, if I still don't cool it down, boot loops happens.
I'm not sure what's happening but it seems that it's an overheating issue perhaps?

Well that is possible, i suppose. Maybe the heat-spreader moved away ever so slightly of the CPU, or isn't making good enough contact with it anymore which would lead to it not properly dissipating the heat. Unfortunately that i wont be able to know.
Lets assume that this is a software issue for now. Have you tried this yet by any chance ?
If not it is definitely worth a shot. Before flashing it i recommend clearing cache partition & dalvik cache in TWRP first then reboot into bootloader mode and then run this as per the READ ME file which is included.
There are essentially 3 batch file you need to run and it will recreate all the partitions on your device etc.
PS: You need to register on the OnePlus forums to actually be able to view the thread.
PPS: If for some reason the download link is bad let me know and ill mirror it for you on my dropbox.
