Hi guys, this is my first post on this forum.
I have a problem that is making me CRAZY. I will try to explain to you, and I will be sorry for my english (I am Italian).
I have 1+1 since two weeks, I had unlock bootloader, TWRP recovery, stock rom 38R and rooted.
Yesterday I lost my SIM card signal, so I rebooted my device. No sim card PIN asked to me, no signal again.
I've tried to make a phone call and an alert told me "To make a call disable flight mode".. but I don't have flight mode activated!
I have tried with my girlfriend's sim card, same thing.. no pin required, no signal.
I've tried anything.. wipe cache, dalvik, total, re-flashed rom (I have used this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/rom-stock-rooted-4-4-4-xnph38r-t2898098)
I don't kwow what to do..
More info:
I have my IMEI, I've read something about losing the IMEI code, but it's not my case.
Thank you.
I know that you have reflashed and everything , but could you try this once ?

not tried this solution, do you think it can helps?
someone? please..
Stupid question, do you actually have the SIM in the right way? It's very easy to put it in the wrong way on this phone.

I am sure...
opo doesn't say to me "no sim", he tells me that I have to disable flight mode to have a call..!
I have tried anything

Did you try the "stock " thing i had posted above ? Doesnt hurt to try as it is a 5 minutes job..you just have to double click the batch file
in your case that would be the firts thing i would have tried..
I did. I've made my 1+1 back to stock with One Toolkit, with 33r. Nothing happens.

This.
When I got a new sim at AT&T, the guy was telling me how he's seen a handful of OPO and none of them work on this network. Sure enough, he puts in a new sim and it doesn't work. Then he starts playing with mobile settings etc. After a few minutes I ripped the phone out of his hand, eject the sim and discovered he had it backwards. Worked fine after that.

yeah, ok, but my sim card is in the right way.
When i open and close sim slot it ask me for the pin.
And then... nothing.

I have the same problem
Mine has a ROM stock, I didn't changed anything from when I received it.
Today I decided to have a lock screen with a pin code (because I must have a pin code on the lock screen to allowed reading my job emails via MS Exchange).
After defining it, I rebooted my smartphone but it does not ask me for the mobile pin (the one I just defined), it does not ask me the SIM pin code, and it displayed the normal screen (with all of my widgets and shortcuts).
Because I didn't enter a SIM pin code, the network could not be found
I removed the screen lock protection, but the SIM pin code is still never asked, so I cannot send or receive any call.
The only way I found is to remove and reinsert the SIM card while the mobile is powered on.
So, there is 2 problems:
The SIM pin code is never asked
The lock screen is never displayed
Airplane mode turning on when sim inserted
Hi,

Hey guys, today I installed a new game and started it and came to the screen where you download game files and got "No Wi-Fi Connection"
Then I pressed the home button but my phone froze so after waiting some minutes I took out the battery and booted it.
Since then its in the Airplane Mode and nothing will turn it off..
I wiped dalvik, data, even flashed a new ROM but NOTHING.
Then I took the SIM from a different phone and the airplane mode was turned off and everything worked.
So what you guys think the problem is ?
I mean a game cant mess up my SIM Card right ?
It's possible that the game messed up a setting on the phone that lead to a SIM card defect.
Tried the SIM card in another phone?
a) If it's working, try reinserting into your phone and booting again. Sometimes it's just the swapping fixing your SIM again (registering to a new phone with the carrier)
b) If it's not working, I'd exchange the SIM.
a2) In case a) didn't fix it: factory reset, battery pull for 30mins, in case those two fail as well --> b).
Nothing worked :/
I guess I got to change it
A couple of times now, when I'm out and about I lose my cellular data connection. It just stops working. In the past on other devices when this has happened a reboot will usually fix it. But on my Atrix 2, when I reboot the phone comes one with Airplane Mode enabled (please note that I did not turn on Airplane mode). If I try to turn Airplane Mode off, it will just sit and say "Enabling wireless connections" but never actually turn them on. I have to actually do a battery pull to fix this problem. The first time it happened I went and got a new SIM card (as mine was pretty old), and it just happened to me again this afternoon. I'm past my 30 day return policy (bought the phone at Best Buy) so I can't return it.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this?
Just to reiterate, I did not turn on Airplane Mode, the phone powers on with it enabled and then won't actually turn off Airplane Mode when I tell it to.
i have the same problem too. After it happens couple times, i find out it might be the problem from the at&t address book issue which cause the phone cant read the sim for some reason (as it result, airplane mode keep enable). I also believe it is because the phone has been unlocked so the at&t address book crash. Is your phone unlocked?
Well, i am not quite sure it work on ur phone, but here is how i do it usually.
Way 1- plugin another sim card(sometimes i dun even need to do it), load the at&t address book, it will force the phone to load sim card cause of the contact from sim (then it should work right after that or after reboot)
Way 2- pull the battery for 1 day, it will work after that(but this is kinda dumb)
Hope this can help you XD.

My phone is not unlocked. I could see the AT&T Address book thing contributing, I've NEVER had that thing work right, and thus I don't even have it set up on my phone (it's on there in my Accounts, but it's not configured that I know of because i do my contact syncing through Google).
Battery pull definitely solves the problem, at least temporarily. The only other SIM I have is the old one they took out when they replaced the SIM after this happened the first time. I also don't store any contacts on my sim (again use google for that), so I don't know if doing a SIM swap would solve the problem in a more permanent way since I've basically already done that.
I tried battery pull, but it doesn't work sometimes. The reason i run at&t address book because it would force the phone to detect the sim again(cause of the contact). Lucky it doesn't always happen. hoping Motorola can fix this issue on next update.
**I just think about it, it might be some stupid mistake from motorola that overwrite the memory about the phone status section.
have you guys tried factory resetting it?
I tried to reset but it doesn't help at all

Hmm, I did this just yesterday, I'll give it a week or so and see if the issue happens again after setting my contact storage to my Google account.

ok just inform us what happens.
I have and identical problem.
My phone would turn with the Airplane mode ON and I can't deactivate it, or even if it shows I can, it's not in the menu and I won't get any signal.
I can't recall If it happened because of a change but I doubt so.
I tried factory reset / cache / dalvik, also flashing numerous rom from neutrino to cm7 to cm9 and even MIUI (which worked the first time I flashed it for a day and then same error).
And It will also occasionnaly reboot If I try too hard checking for networks and such.
Any help ?
While navigating the hboot menus on my HTC Desire S, 2.3.5 Stock, Sense 3.0, I accidentaly pressed "simlock|"
It reported:
FAT32 init OK
Open MCCMNC file fail
Open CID file fail
It has definitely messed something up: my phone boots, accepts my SIM pin, unlocks my SIM, displays my Mobile Provider as one of the network options to connect to, but fails to register with the network every time.
So it doesn't mention that the phone is locked, or ask me to enter an unlock code or anything... but the sim that was previously working is now not working at all...
Any ideas? Will an RUU or anything get my phone back to a working unlocked state?
First of all I would try this: remove SIM card, SD card and battery (everything actually), put them back and reboot the phone to see what happen.
As the last resort, If you don't mind reinstall all your apps and data (it will erase everything), you could simply execute and hard reset:
http://www.knowyourcell.com/htc/htc...77971/how_to_hard_reset_the_htc_desire_s.html
Thanks - did that - but no luck - the phone totally reverted to factory settings, but the SIM is still not registering on the network... it seems a change has taken place at an even lower level...
The error that you wrote gives you "fail". Doesn't look like it has been done something to the phone.
Do you have any other option in hboot?
How about turn off the radio a couple of times (airplane mode) then reboot?
I found this by the way:
http://www.simonjstuart.com/2011/05...not-allow-a-connection-to-this-network-error/
I remember I solve it by playing with airplane mode and turn off the phone few times, with my friend Desire S.
It definitely did something - for 4 hours, no ability to get onto mobile network. Seems it mayt have actually modified the SIM card. I managed to get it working again - I put the SIM in another phone, booted, and then put it back in my phone and it's working again - do you think that's possibly what fixed it?
Could it be.. you never know..
That's interesting thus, looks like the SIM card got somehow "resetted" by the other phone.
I'll keep this in mind for the future.
Hi to all, I'm writing here because I had my first problems with my v970 (with etotalk rom). This evening I checked my mobile and I found that none of the sim was active (I was not in airplane mode) and I could not activate them, as if they were not in their slots. Meanwhile the upper part of the device began to heat up, so I tought it could be an antenna/receiver problem. I almost forgot to say that I installed Truecaller (deleting Contapps) and updated facebook and few others apps less than one hour before the event, but I already uninstalled them to exclude some of the possible causes. I'll gladly listen to any advice. Thank's in advance. GL
Restart, and see if it continues.
Already tried a lot of times, with or without sim cards. I also noticed an abnormal use of battery.
When did the problem start? What did you do before it started? Does your cellphone always have no signal, or does it come & go (sometimes SIM works, sometimes it doesn't)? Have you checked your APN settings?

The problem started yesterday and I never experimented It till now. As I Said, before I encountered It, I updated some apps from the market and I changed the default caller manager (should I call It in this way?) with Truecaller. I also deleted my sim contacts
. I can't check apn because there are no apns to check (Android shows me the voice "mobile networks" but I can't select it
Update: I tried to restore the original rom, but the problem persists. I also made a check with the recovery, and it shows me that the device cannot detect sim cards. I begin to think that it's an hardware problem (ouch). Am I right?
What did you do in recovery that checks SIM cards? Are you talking about CWM recovery?

Nope, it's the faulty recovery that etotalk sent me with the phone. I would like to install the cwm and flash another rom, but I'll leave that as the last option
If the recovery they sent you is faulty, then what good is it? If there's a custom recovery available for your phone, you might as well go with it, not that it'll solve anything by itself.
You might try inserting some kind of shim along with the SIM card to see if the extra pressure help make contact with the leads. Careful, of course, that whatever you stick in there doesn't stay behind.

I know about the recovery, but I was trying to don't invalidate the warranty (as if I'll ever use it...). Now I'm charging the phone, it's already the third time today...
Aw, heck. If you've got warranty, just send it in.

Ok, I flashed a recovery and a custom rom, but nothing happened. The signal is still absent and the antenna heats up the same way as before. I tried to enter engineer mode and it shows me messages as "com.android.internal.telephony.CommandExcepti on: RADIO_NOT_AVAILABLE", "3G off. Cannot set", ecc... It also shows me "invalid IMEI" if I try to look at it and I cannot change it back with the AT +EGMR command (it says "Radio on" and "SIM State: ABSENT", altough the SIM card is in its slot).
I think you have to crack the case.

Hmmm... if your phone is reporting invalid IMEI numbers then I would try first to get that working as it should. Read this tutorial and re-write your IMEI numbers.
Then I would try the latest stock ROM, which is available on ZTE support website. Here is the direct link to the ROM.
If your phone still doesn't work after that, then I'm afraid you have a hardware problem.
I have had the telephone for more than one month with no problem. Trying every ROM made by Bruno with no problem at all with signal, but...
About 4 days ago, I started suffering exactly the same problems stated by ArcheoGian. I have tried everything (installing older Roms, rebooting, changing SIMs from 1 to 2, etc.) but unfortunately with no success. I just have to try to install the original ROM, but I supose it will be the same.
Afer a few reboots, I can make the telephone to search for a network, it founds it, it connects, it transfers data, I can make calls, but ramdomly (can be after 30 seconds, 30 minutes or maximum one hour) it disconnects and the red X of death (Xbox 360 times ) appears on top of the screen.
I can try to go and return from airplane mode, or search for networks that it won't re-connect.
I fear it can become a typical problem for this phone.
I am "delighted" to send it back to China and wait for two months to get it back (after explaining it to the seller and so on). Fingers crossed
@prinxo: did you buy it from eto...k? (I don't know if I can write the entire name of the seller)
Update: I tried everything it was told me (except to crack the case, at least not yet...), my last hope is to manually insert the IMEIs inside the data folder. There's just one problem: none of the methods suggested in the link posted by bcgngm works on my phone, so I need to generate the IMEIs whit my pc (I couldn't open the exe with windows 7, I'll try with win xp in a while, otherwise I have to ask someone to create it for me).

No, I bought it from another seller at Aliexpress.
As I thought: I tried to re-install an original ROM, and everything remains the same. I thought I was successfull but after one hour the phone disconnected itself from the network. After that moment, I need about 3 re-boots to get signal again and it lasts for just a few minutes.
At this point, I would disregard a software problem.
Happy happy to have to send it back to China.

Why do you say it is not working? My preferred method is to use the adb commands (and for that you have to install Android SDK). Don't forget that when you type the commands there is no output message on the screen. The phone has to be restarted so that changes take effect.

The third and the fourth ones are the only methods to restore IMEI I didn't try, just because I never used sdk and adb (and I'm not sure to be able to use them). I followed the others options (I also created the IMEI file with the russian program), but it continues to show me the "invalid IMEI" message. Can you help me, maybe showing me a good walkthrough?

Hello Experts
Just received my brand new Xperia XZ Premium international Dual sim on Sunday. I've been with Sprint for twenty years but wanted this phone badly and stepped into a T-Mobile store today.
They inserted SIM card in slot one and proceeded to activate phone. Everything seems to be there under access point except the enable/disable is grayed out even though is says APN enabled.
I contacted seller through Amazon and they said to do a factory reset. I have four times. What am I doing wrong?? Does the SIM card be active before placing it in SIM tray??

Um... Where exactly do you see "enable/disable" under APN settings?
Under Access Point Names
You might have to activate the SIM first. Make sure you select "LTE preferred" and when you search for service providers it should automatically choose T Mobile, if not, manually select it. It should also populate the APN settings automatically, but you can enter them manually. Check here:

Sim Card Working
Yes that was it. The Sim card must be activated first. You would have thought the genius at T-Mobile would have known this. All is well thank you experts. One more thing I updated the phone with the new Oreo and now every time I DL an app from The Play Store it crashes with message com.android. phone has stopped. Then it asks to close the app and takes me out and I have to finger print my way back in. The apps are downloading but this is getting tiresome. I've already factory reset twice so please don't ask me to do that again lol! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have the International dual Sim model 8142

You may want to get the Apn automatically then change the apn type to blank (don't fill in) and the apn protocol to ipv4/ipv6. I had an issue with hotspot until I changed those. The automatic update isn't accurate.
Can anyone assist? I have the international dual sim xperia xz premium. I had been set up an working fine on the T-Mobile network. Fingerprint scanner was working. Everything was working fine. Then problems arose. The phone starting having horrendous signal issues. When you made and received phone calls, you could not hear the other person well at all (to the point people would hang up in frustration). No matter who I call this was happening. I thought it might be a sim issue. I put that same sim in a nexus 6p, and had no problems. I tried factory reset a couple times on the xperia and nothing has helped. Another thing i noted, is there is nothing under APN settings. I alerted T-Mobile of this and they put the settings in, but they dont seem to stick (save). At this point my xperia is an xpensive paper weight. Can anyone guide me in the correct direction. Really in need of help. Everyone has been hounding me to jump to iphone because of this. Not giving up yet.
