[Q] Bricked htc one m8! - Verizon HTC One (M8)

I have a verizon htc one m8 and i tried to update the ota from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4 with ruu. First time it gave me an error and second time the phone didn't reboot. It won't charge and it won't eneter in h-boot. What should i do? I tried key combination, nothing works.

Will it power on at all? If you plug usb to your computer does adb devices command give output?

Yes, the screen doesn't boot at all. I observe that when i press for 15 seconds volume up or down and power one orange led blink once, and when i put on charge but it blinks only once.
This is what i get on adb ->
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>adb reboot
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
error: device not found

That does sound like a brick. Maybe enquire in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2363516

Are you sure you just don't have a really dead battery? That's what they do until they get a decent enough charge.
Check device manager for movement when you disco and reconnect the phone. Also see if you get it to show in fastboot money.

Alright, I didn't read everything, but did you try holding down both volume keys and pressing and holding the power button for a couple of seconds to boot it down? If not, try that and if it works, then maybe I can help you from there.

If it's not detected by your pc and after what you've tried you likely need to swap it.

Bricked my phone

Well, it was only a matter of time but while trying to fix my phone, it decided to brick itself. I was installing a RUU, and then it rebooted to bootloader but instead of loading that up, it just died. Completely. Doesn't charge, doesn't power on, no LED whatsoever. This was last night. However, this afternoon it randomly entered QHSUSB_DLOAD mode when I plugged it into USB, or I assume so anyway - as my PC installed drivers for "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM3)".
I downloaded an Ubuntu live DVD to try some unbrick methods, but while doing so I pressed the power button on my phone, now it's become undetectable again. Plugging into USB doesn't detect anything on my PC.
My question is, does anyone know how to get the phone back in QHSUSB_DLOAD mode?
Assume you ate referring to this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34076562
Dumb question but I assume you tried repressing the button again?
This method worked for me and I think we've had the same brick experience

I'm trying that method as we speak. I figured out how to get it back on QDL mode by pressing all three buttons a few times for a few seconds and it pops up. However, when I type the "ls /dev/sd*" command, I get this:
Code:
[email protected]:/dev$ ls /dev/sd*
ls: cannot access /dev/sd*: No such file or directory
Even though my device comes up as expected for that procedure:
Code:
Bus 002 Device 007: ID 05c6:9008 Qualcomm, Inc. Gobi Wireless Modem (QDL mode)
Just wondering - in this step:
Now, hold power down on your phone for about 10 seconds*,OR until you see (QDL mode) disappear and let go, Then go to your second window and repeatedly run the following command
Click to collapse
Should only the "QLD mode" part disappear or should the entire device disappear? Because when I press power for ~10 seconds, the entire device vanishes.
Yes it all sounds OK, but you start off with the QUSB message hold power down till it disappears (about 10 secs for me) then do the list command.
Should work

Basically when I press power, the entire device disappears. And when I do ls /dev/sd* I still get the same error, there's nothing found.

If you're phone is read as an mtp device that means it's not dead and the rom is loaded. The screen is black I take it and won't come on?
reboot to bootloader
either using adb (adb reboot bootloader)
or
manually (hold power button until capacitive buttons blink a bunch of times and the phone shuts off then let go of power and press and hold volume until bootloader comes on)
If you still can't see the screen while in bootloader, then your screen is dead.

Are you saying the buttons are actually not working properly?
MTP mode plays havoc with adb, and sometimes fastboot. Of course, if you are not able to access recovery, adb, or fastboot, you are in a very tough spot.
Is the device S-off or S-on?

So you can start your M2 in fastboot mode, the led light should turn into blue.
You can try to flash TWRP recovery and then the ROM again, download twrp.img from here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767112082
Then to flash it to the M2 from a command line run:
adb reboot bootloader (to enter in fastboot mode)
fastboot flash recovery /path/to/the/twrp.img
Then try to reboot into recovery mode running:
adb reboot recovery
And then from the TWRP menu -> WIPE -> INSTALL the ROM file again.
When I type the first I get a error - error: device '(null)' not found
The device is connected by the way (I got the blue light).

Ok, so adb is not recognizing the device.
When you connect the M2 make sure you hold the VOLUME DOWN before connecting the USB-cable and hold it until EMMA detect it., this can take up to 1 minute. If this didn't help, force a shutdown holding the POWER and VOLUME UP buttons at the same time for at least 10 seconds, then connect it to the wall charger and charge the M2 for two or three hours. You can also try by pressing the OFF button on the MICRO SIM slot.

And have you tried the other suggestions I"ve given above ?

My phone stopped charging. Keep showing the red light no matter how long of charging.

My FRD-L14 was stuck at boot logo. I kept trying the volume keys + power button combo in able to enter eRecovery and dload flash but can't until it drained my battery. Now I charged my phone for almost 3 hours but its always on the red light. Low battery won't let me go to eRecovery it just shows the red thunder icon after polding volume up and power button. (Yep I disconnect the power cord when trying to boot into recovery)
I dont have custom recovery cos I did rollback to MM.
EDIT: Nevermind. I think it was because the phone is trying to boot which drains battery. But my phone is now okay. Bootloop gone

Pixel 2 brick after Uninstall Magisk

Hello,
My Pixel 2 was unlocked bootloader and Rooted.
I went to Magisk app then pressed Uninstall All, then my phone rebooted and brick at boot (Screenshot "No command").
I tried to flash back to stock rom but computer cannot reconize the phone. (I supposed USB debugging was not turned on yet).
Please advise how I can make my Pixel 2 back to work?
Many thanks in advance.

Forget about ADB, you need Fastboot access. While in the bootloader interface, connect your phone, look for it in the Device Manager and change its driver to Android Bootloader Interface, or something of the sort. Next try "fastboot devices" on the command line, see if it detects your device.
I brought my phone to repair shop and they detected that the hard disk was dead.
Just bought another Pixel 2 to have more awesome photos
You have no fastboot I guess.
Boot into fastboot, plug in the usb cable and press and hold the volume down button for like 15 seconds, and then it will be recognized by the PC. You can flash back the stock rom after that.
Hey I had the same problem. Just stuck in bootloader mode. In my case, the boot slot changed itself from b to a (access denied, same as your problem). What I did:
1. I boot my phone, then it'll be in bootloader mode (same as the first picture when it says 'operation denied')
2. I kept pressing the power button, then my phone boot into bootloader again (bootloop). I kept holding my power button until my phone boot into right boot slot. (It took me 10 bootloop to boot into right boot slot, I just keep holding my power button when in the bootloader mode)
You can add my telegram : (@)Djkuns if you're confused. Hope I can help! Goodluck!
