[Q] Custom sbf - Droid Ultra Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am not a developer and I do not know how to code,
Just now i was messing with my old Photon Q (bootloader unlocked), and i installed twrp by changing the file name from "openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.1-asanti_c" into "recovery", downloaded and extracted the photon q sbf, replaced my twrp renamed .img file into the extracted folder.
Since I am not a developer, I am just wondering cant we do the same for this phone? install custom recovery through a modified sbf? or will it not work since the bootloader is locked?
the following links are for the sbf

SBF Files - Do they contain bootloaders?

Hi Everyone -
I know that SBF files contain radio, recovery, system, and boot images, but does anyone know if they contain a bootloader image as well (in case you're on a newer bootloader than was paired with the firmware version you're trying to flash in RSDLite)?
Thanks!

[Q] Help! Advice needed for getting OTA Lollipop

I see many noobs like me being confused about how their root and custom recovery status should be before installing or even receivingLollipop OTA.
So my understanding is to receive OTA update and to successfully install it one needs to be on,
1. STOCK firmware of their respective device.
2.Custom recovery ( No TWRP, CWM or any other custom recovery ).
3.Bootloader should be locked.
Am i right?
So, my questions are,
1. I can understand why the first two needs to be done but why should we lock the bootloader?.
2. When i restored to stock firmware( Mine's XT1033 ) KK 4.4.4 from TWRP Recovery with this http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/rom-stock-motorola-rom-collection-t2854688 TWRP was still installed on my mobile. But when i reverted to stock 4.4.2( not 4.4.4 ) from fastboot using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2700502 it successfully deleted TWRP.
So when we flash Stock ROM with Zip file it only installs the stock ROM and won't delete TWRP? and when we flash with fastboot( and .xml.zip file ) it removes TWRP? So am i right with this assumption?
If i am right how do i get back to stock recovery( delete TWRP ) since currently i have Stock 4.4.4 from the above link.
Help me and provide some correct scenarios to get Lollipop OTA.
this mototool has a functionallity of retrieving stock recovery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50029015
it's pretty straight forward.
and as of what I've read, no need to relock bootloader for OTA to take place.. but I have no experience whatsoever..

USA 1032 update to 5.0.2?

This is my wife's phone, so she wants to keep it stock, unrooted, and WANTS, (for a reason that I don't know), to keep her phone bootloader locked, so flashing "Blur_Version.220.21.28.falcon_umtsds.AsiaRetail.en.03.zip", probably wouldn't work, (or would it), without losing all of her data. Is there a USA version available yet?
I believe stock firmware is usually an xml.zip file. The file you mentioned is only a .zip file. That .zip file may need to be flashed using a custom recovery which requires an unlocked bootloader.

[Q] Error installing cyanogenmod

So yesterday I downloaded the latest nightly version of Cyanogen Mod but when I am about to install it I am getting an error saying that I have a bootloader hhz12f and it requires a hhz12d... What am I supposed to do? Should I flash the needed bootloader or what?
Either flash the correct bootloader or unzip the zip, delete the bootloader check from the update-script, rezip, then flash. It's easier just to downgrade the bootloader or you will have to change the zip on every update until it moves to CM12.1.

How to flash a decrypted ozip stock rom file?

I managed to decrypt the ozip file of the stock rom RMX1971EX_11_A.16 using https://github.com/bkerler/oppo_ozip_decrypt,
mentioned in here https://forum.xda-developers.com/realme-2-pro/how-to/convert-ozip-to-zip-installing-stock-t4065277
How do I flash the contents?
Also, how do I know if I need RMX1971EX or RMX1971 rom?
On my phone, in about phone, model is RMX1971. I got it in Thailand.
Updated: i know it's possible to flash it through stock file manager or recovery, but it doesn't work as it checks if the payload's version is prior to the installed rom.
