Hi Everyone -
I know that SBF files contain radio, recovery, system, and boot images, but does anyone know if they contain a bootloader image as well (in case you're on a newer bootloader than was paired with the firmware version you're trying to flash in RSDLite)?
Thanks!
My bad....wrong thread

If you are looking for the Odin-Flashable Image go here. These update files are based on that image.
These are recovery-flashable zips for the untouched Jelly Bean image that Nardholio provided.
They are as Samsung provided them with all the crap. I stripped the recovery though since i don't think anybody would want to loose theirs.
If you flash using TWRP (dunno about CWM), it detects that your current system is un-rooted and asks if you want to install SuperSU. If you want root, just let him do it.
I've split the update into three files:
JB stock modem (md5: 932407773cb6e0e5bd133da49ba8a442) as provided by Nardholio. This is just a mirror. Didn't touch that.
JB stock bootloader (md5: 2a980ce6d3f109f56e86b663f03fd761) that came with the update. Seems like it's purely optional. You only need to flash this once (if you want it) as it is usually not overwritten by any updates.
and the actual JB stock image (md5: b70f44d4619391c8f0f4debaa6239fc3)
cache/data wipe is required for the image.
if you just want the bootloader/modem there's no need to wipe.
The Odin image also came with an empty persist partition. None of these updates touches persist as you might want to flash back and have a ROM that relies on those files.
I've tested all the images and they work fine for me. But, certainly, they come without warranty. Flashing things, especially bootloader and modem, always come with the risk of bricking your phone. Be aware of it and don't blame me.
Hi
On flashing the new bootloader i am not getting any network...do i need to unlock again?
edit: Got network after trying several different SIMs. weird eh?

Do you know where to find official Jelly Bean but not the latest one?
I think it was 4.0.4.
I need to test something with bluetooth related (as I am writing in other my post it might be worst in 4.1.2).
Regards
flashed modem and image. couldn't get Wi-Fi to work until i flashed the bootloader though.
froze a couple of times within the first 30min of playing with it, but whatever was causing it seems to have "healed" because it hasn't happened at all today.
much appreciated
Any idea where to get the stock recovery?
Just for completeness.... Both in update.zip form (unsigned):
https://googledrive.com/host/0B-v962-Q8Pd9VWtvN0VrTXlQaTg/JB-stock-recovery.zip
-- Recovery
https://googledrive.com/host/0B-v962-Q8Pd9VWtvN0VrTXlQaTg/JB-stock-system.zip
-- System & Kernel
(This is not the same form as kilr00y posted in the OP... His is a version that's been converted. This is the full filesystem, extracted to the block device. This shows up as official on the downloader. It is not pre-rooted. ... This also differs from an ODIN flashable version of this. Heimdall might be able to flash the resultant image, but this is meant to be flashed through recovery)
I am not a developer and I do not know how to code,
Just now i was messing with my old Photon Q (bootloader unlocked), and i installed twrp by changing the file name from "openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.1-asanti_c" into "recovery", downloaded and extracted the photon q sbf, replaced my twrp renamed .img file into the extracted folder.
Since I am not a developer, I am just wondering cant we do the same for this phone? install custom recovery through a modified sbf? or will it not work since the bootloader is locked?
the following links are for the sbf

Hi,
I´m a neewbie to Samsung. My phone is a S6 SM-G920F, Baseband G920FXXU1AOCW
I came form an HTC and I´ve seen that flashing things are very different. So here are my questions:
1. I think, my bootloader is unlocked but I didin´t know for sure. So how can I check this?
(My HTV showed me this by using fastboot, didn´t know if there is fastboot with Samsung and how to start it - only know the download-mode and how to enter TWRP recovery)
2. Flashing firmware via Odin (i. e. from sammobile.com) means to loose my root again, right?
3. If I loose root, where do I get custom Firmwares and how do I flash them (if this is possible)?
4. If not, is it enough to flash bootloader and modem through Odin?
All answers are appreciated. Thanks in advanced.
Maybe someone can link me to an step to step instruction...
Fastboot is android doesn't matter who makes the phone.
If you flash a rom from sammobile then you will go to whichever stock you pick.
Other ROMs are available here. The phone is new. There aren't many yet. Cyanogen mod isn't available yet.
Root is available by flashing cfautoroot with Odin. You will need to get the specific one.
You can replace the recovery by flashing twrp team win recovery project with Odin.
You can flash boot loader and modem. Make sure you get the right region. The modem frequencies are different in different places.
You may find flashing a whole ROM even stock will fail. This is because the partitions are not the same size for all s6 stock ROMs. Don't ask me why. You can open the tar find which file stopped the flash delete it from the tar and flash again.

Thanks for answering. My questions had an other intention, I think.
My S6 is already rooted and I have a custom recovery (TWRP) :good:
I would like to know if you have to flash a whole firmware or only bootloader/modem? Because I didn´t seen a post here for a full firmware yet.
I am not familiar with the differences between htc whole firmware and samsung bootloader/modem
Actually I am on Firmware G920FXXU1AOCW. But there are newer ones like XXU1AOE3 or XXU1AOE4.
In the days of my htc you couldn´t flash only bootloader or modem, you had to flash a whole firmware (like radio, drivers, bootloader, modem etc.)
Flashing only modem and bootloader will it update i. e. touchscreen drivers? If not, where do I get this ones? You know, because of root I don´t get OTA´s anymore...
The modem just controls how your phone hardware connects to carrier towers etc.
The boot loader is a tiny thing that tells the processor where and how to load the OS.
The software for pretty much everything is in /system.
Many of these releases are the same software, region specific. The dates are fairly unimportant for the same version number. They generally reference the time when they were uploaded by someone. Not that they have updates and fixes.
Just wanted to know can I change my phone logo MetroPCS to say T-mobile with all the T-mobile add on. I have a Samsung Galaxy s6 by MetroPCS
Hi,
Noob here, and this is not Galaxy S6 specific but I thought I'd post here since I at least have one to test. Anyway, is it possible to extract the KNOX boot loader binaries (aboot, sbl1, sbl2, sbl3, etc) either from a device, or from the firmware files (e.g. on sammobile)? And then, from there, is it possible to disassemble/decompile them with IDA Pro or a similar tool?
I've read some articles/guides but they are quite old and seem to be specific to Jelly Bean. I've tried extracting the files from the tar.md5 firmware files but I don't get the individual boot loader binaries.
Thanks.
I have a Moto G3 stuck in bootloader and cannot access recovery. It looks like Im stuck in that situation until Motorola releases a newer corresponding stock firmware.
My quesion is: Is there a way of making a copy of the updated Firmware of a friend that have the exact same model as me and flash it via fastboot?
Thanks in advance.
Assuming your friend is rooted and has the exact same hardware variant, the answer is complicated... We can access boot, system, and other basic partitions (data, caches, etc), but we cannot get the bootloader, recovery, radios (modem & fsg), or any other proprietary information (this device has about 25 partitions). You could theoretically back up and restore the accessible partitions via TWRP or other custom recovery.
All of this is worthless for fastboot though, you would need signed images from Motorola to flash that way.
So the answer to your question is a definitive no.
