First of all hi I'm new here and I know nothing of android development,
I had started some work on earlier symbian platform but this is just different totally different and better than the brilliant environment.
Yesterday I bought a phone in $50 its MTK6589 291ppi 1GB RAM. I know these specs. are not very good these days buy in 50 bucks can you believe it?
So. here's my first question.
If you want to upgrade from like JB to KK then how do you do it. Do you have to build another kernel as well.
What are the tools you all guys are using to get the things done.
Mediatek vs Snapdragon for which should I go for.
Is there a method to by which if the manufacturer does not releases the source then you can port CM to it or like L preview to a device running Cupcake {theoretically}.
Does XDA-University has a quick start PDF.

Its been a while since I posted here Last device was a Samsung Note 10.1
I have just ordered a phone for my wife - KINGELON N9800 5.7" IPS MTK6592 8-Core Android 4.2.2 Phone 13MP CAM 2GB RAM 16GB ROM
Afterwards I read about the spyware/malware which has sometimes been found on these phones.
As I am totally out of touch with rom etc now and will take a long time to read through all the forums I'd like to ask how best to ensure that there is no dodgy installed software or backdoors in the OS?
Is it possible to root the phone and add a new ROM, and if so would that guarantee there is nothing nasty left lurking in the device?

So I am thinking of porting a custom rom for my MT6572 device which I am sure you have never heard of: QMobile A170. I already have it rooted using Farmaroot 1.9.3 (thankgod for generic tools) and seeing as there are no roms for this specific model out there, was thinking of porting one myself. So here are my queries.
1. Which ROM do you suggest I port (in terms of features, ui, stability and chance of success etc)? Where can I find an android 4.4+ rom? I only found one but it has an annoying dev picture everywhere: droidbuzzz.blogspot(dot)com/2014/10/mt6572-custom-rom-pure-l-custom-rom-for(dot)html
2. Which porting guide do i follow for MT6572 porting? there are alot of guides out there, and more alarmingly, with different steps and procedures.

3. Should I use a porting tool or something?
4 Any tips, wise words etc?

Hi,
We are currently trying to port CM11 to the Samsung Galaxy Beam Gt-i8530. This phone has practically zero support from developers nor does a device forum exist for it on XDA. We have problems with the camera on CM11. The cam crashes a couple of seconds right after it starts up. I have the logs but I would like to know in which XDA section I should post a specific CM related question. In the general Q&A?

How can i flash my phone if I can't find the stock rom online ?
My problem is that wh I I boost my phone I get an unfortunately message that every single has stopped most times. And when I go and try to update through settings it crashes. I have posted a number number off threads on this site but I can't get an adequate responds to my problem.
Is there any way to flash without a stock rom ?
Because factory reset does not work either everything is still there when i do that

The problem is that i cant even find it on the Huawei site i can find 520 Roms but not for my specific model and i can create a custom Rom because i dont have any base .
Sorry about that but for more relevant answers you must ask in the forums I gave you links above.
