I recently tried to downgrade my Boost Mobile Moto G from 4.4.4 to 4.4.2. well, it soft bricked, and the only way for me to fix it is to flash the GPT.bin from the 4.4.4 update to my phone.
I have very poor internet that cannot download large files, like the entire firmware package. Can someone please link me to the GPT.bin from 4.4.4? Just that file, not anything else?

Right guys here's what's going on....
I converted my UK retail XT1032 to the GPE rom using the Moto Tool AIO, Managed to do it just fine, upgraded to the 4.4.4 GPE OTA and as I wanted to sell this phone on I wanted to restore the stock Moto G UK firmware, however it soft bricks every time I try.
Basically the GPT partition from the UK 4.4.2 stock Motorola firmware refuses to flash.
As due to that not flashing the system files, boot image and motoboot image basically fail to flash and the system files come up with "Invalid PIV image" or something close to that.
Can anyone help me to figure this out?
Thanks in advance.

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem. Has anybody got a fix?
Okay so my moto g is on lolipop gpe converted, but i want to go back stock. i know how to flash it and stuff but is there a chance i can brick it due to bootloader differences or anything? like how do i go about this do i need 4.4.4 or is 4.4.2 ok? thanks. *URGENT*
To be safe, flash a 4.4.4 ROM but don't flash motoboot.img even if you don't have the 41.18 bootloader.
I was able to flash my xt1032 with the 41.18 bootloader back to stock Telus 4.4.4. I was even able to flash stock US Retail 4.4.4. I never tried 4.4.2 and I never flashed motoboot.img.

how do i know if its 4.4.4 or 4.4.2??
You'll have to look at the Moto g firmware names. Sometimes, you have to guess. It;s important because you want to ensure that the modem in your phone supports the ROM and carrier.
Do you have the xt1032 (i.e. falcon)?

yeah mate thats the one
What bootloader is on your phone? If you have the 41.18, you'll experience the ripple effect on your phone until you lock/unlock your phone using the lockscreen.
Hi,
My search skills are very bad so pardon me if this has been asked too many times.
I've read somewhere that downgrading is possible by manual method without flashing the gpt and motoboot file.
Once downgrade is done. is it possible to install a custom kitkat rom afterwards?
You should be fine. Flashing gpt.bin file is necessary when coming from a GPE to non-GPE ROM. GPE and non-GPE do not use the same file format for user data.

I have a moto g global version xt1032.
Thanks. I actually installed lost101's optimized 5.02 which i did not think was a gpe version. however, I downgraded to 4.4.4 using a script to 4.4.4 gpe. I am getting ota for 5.0.1. If I do want to update to it sometime, will it work?
If you are on stock 4.4.4 with stock recovery and unrooted, OTA should work.
Hi, i've been reading a lot of posts explaining how to do "GPE LP to KK", and other things, but i want to know if i can flash the BR 5.0.2 firmware image directly above my 5.0.1 GPE without any problems. Thanks in advance
If you manually flash the stock BR 5.02 to each partition using fastboot commands, you should be fine. Every file will flash except for the motoboot file. I say this because I was able to flash stock Telus 4.4.4 on an xt1032 that I converted to the GPE edition.
So doesn't matter if motoboot refuse to flash, because GPE and Stock LP have the same included, right?
For me, stock 4.4.4 and stock 5.02 both worked on my xt1032 with bootloader 41.18.
Even if you tried to flash an older bootloader, it would fail the validation check.
Ok finally i managed to downgrade to EU retail 4.4.4 and then OTA to 5.0.2. All the process was great. Thank you for your help [emoji4]
I have a XT1032. In the past it ran Motorola (not GPE or anything) Kitkat 4.4.2. Three months ago I upgraded it to GPE 5.0.1, because of my stupidity for not realizing what "GPE" meant. I hate this GPE and have already done with it. Could you guys, please, show me a way to go back to Motorola firmware Kitkat 4.4.2. I don't want anything relating to GPE anymore. :crying::crying::crying:
My XT1032 is en-us version, FYI.
Download the stock 4.4.4 ROM for your phone from here: http://www.filefactory.com/folder/c6cdedc45a775d27/?sort=filename&order=ASC&show=100&page=1
Flash it manually using fastboot commands. Do no flash anything below 4.4.4 as doing so may brick your phone.

Thank you. Instead of downgrading, can I upgrade GPE 5.0.1 to Motorola 5.0.2, then wait for Motorola 5.1 OTA update? Is there any risk to switch between GPE and non-GPE (Motorola)?
The partition layouts are slightly different and I believe the data partition on gpe (ext4) and stock (f2fs) are not the same.

audit13, I really don't understand all the commands I need to type when using mfastboot. When upgrading my phone to GPE, I followed this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/gpe-ota-lrx21z-5-0-1-xt1033-xt1032-t2969847). Is there any difference? Could you show me some links to learn about how to use those commands? I don't know what I should type, what I should do step-by-step. Thank you.
