I have same [big] problem. SlimKat 8.8-8.9. Device MB865 AT&T. Normal micro USB cable, flash card.
Reboot when device connected to PC or reconnect in 20-30 sec. when UMS is ON while file transfering.
Reboot, reflashing, wipe [dalvik-]cash is not helps.

As pointed bu @ShurikKb , the battery drain is experienced when the device is re-booted when USB is connected...and i second that...i have been running PA 4.1 beta 2/CM11/Slimkat 3.8 and i had bad battery only when i reboot with the charger connected or USB to PC connected
When something like this happens....just Put you phone in Airplane mode ....for 10 mins and re-boot the phone couple of times....
If still no avail , then re-flash the ROM...but re-booting helps mostly....

Hey guys! On all the latest roms, I've been getting huge battery drops
I'm aware of the bug but it's just that there are two drops
1) 65-49 pc
2) 36-19pc
So technically I'm loosing like 30 pc of battery like this.
At first I thought it was my battery but I even tried a brand new sealed battery and experienced same drops. Screen on time is just above 2 hours:crying:
Also, while charging the battery jumps from 70 pc to "charged". Is it my charger? Or usb wire? Or rom bug?
Sorry for copy paste! But read admin note!
I thought q & a was given a RIP. LOL

Every rom gives me the same problem. Also, I can hear clear a sound from my charger (like coil whine or something). I'll try different Charger & cable

Thats definitely is an indication of everything is not alright. Something seems wrong during charging. Lets hope the different charger fixes the issue. :good:

I don't really think there's a battery % bug in this ROM because I haven't experienced such since I flashed the 8.14 build even the 34-19 bug isn't present. This ROM is just cool ,smooth and smart ! I'm using a 4000 mah battery

Bootloop after flashing Slimkat 4.4.4 on Atrix 2
Hi all,
I've got some issues with my Atrix 2. I tried to flash, via CWM 5.something, Slimkat 4.4.4. The install said it worked ok but on reboot it got stuck in a bootloop. I saw threads and videos about going flashing back to Stock 4.0.4 (which is what it had before) so followed those using Fastboot. Didn't work.
I'm now in the spot of having no CWM any more, just the built in recovery manager, and no installed ROM. Plus it won't flash anything via Fastboot (using RSDlite 6.1.6) because it gets stuck on cdt.bin every time, in various roms.
I started with:
> Slim-edison-4.4.4.build.9.0-UNOFFICIAL-20141222-2026.zip with minimal gapps - Ended up in bootloop. Did a factory reset and cache wipe via built in Android Recovery.
> Then I tried 6.7.2_EDEM-18-MEARET_cfc.xml.zip via RSDlite which wouldn't go past cdt.bin (about step 7) (I tried this as some other kiwis (am in NZ) had success with it)
> Just for sh!ts and giggles tried 6.7.2_EDEM-18-SEARET_cfc.xml.zip in RSDlite but again, wouldn't go past cdt.bin.
It's now not even charging the battery as it goes straight into FB saying Flash Failure.
I've read somewhere that cdt.bin has different versions, mainly 2 and 3. Once you've installed ver 3 you can't go back to 2 so could that be my problem?
What I need is a ROM I can flash from FB with RSDlite that'll get it going again.
Thanks for any help!

I'm bored, nothing to do on the weekend ...
I'm tired of having only < 1GB for app storage (because I install SlimKat in system 3)
So this morning I decide to install SlimKat 9.0 to system 1, forget about 4.0.4, quite smooth and stable, but sorry, I prefer 4.4.4
Ok, so this is how I installed SlimKat 4.4.4 ver 9.0 on system 1 from the scratch:
(Maybe you don't have to do step 1, 2, 3)
1. Reinstall official 4.0.4 ICS by RSD:
Stock ROM for AT&T final version ICS 4.0.4 67.21.125:
InlineFlashing_Edison_67.21.125_CFC_P3_APBP.xml.zip
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4g...llWGtvZWc/view
2. Root ICS:
Settings > Developer options > Tick USB debugging
Settings > Security & screen lock > Tick Unknown resource
- Plug in USB cable
- Choose MTP
- Run ROOT.bat (from below attachment A2_ICS_root.zip)
- Leave the phone restarts for a few times, then the terminal window will transfer something and tells that you're rooted
3. Install BMM
4. You can refer this topic
Reboot, go to BMM

- DONOT flash back 2.3.x
- DONOT use bootstrap anymore, ONLY BMM
- DONOT touch system 2
5. Reboot and hola, now you have SlimKat 4.4.4 (or other custom ROMs) on system 1, and also have ~4GB for app storage.
Now I'm gonna to reinstall and reconfig all apps, boring job, zZZ

did everything you said

[Q&A][ROM][Jellybean] CNA 3.6.6 for Samsung Infuse [PORT]

Welcome, everyone- this is the place to ask a question about the CNA Jellybean Rom- Port for our Infuse and more importantly hopefully have that question answered.
You may also discuss issues you are having such as can't download, which g apps do I use, getting a FC on xyz ap, and so on.
A few general Q & A's you may find helpful:
Q: What is CNA ? Any screenshot and more info?
A: Code Name Android info here: http://codenameandroid.com
Q: Where can I download this?
A: Info is in the OP, or you can go here: http://goo.im/devs/Th3Bill/CNA/Infuse
Q: After flashing or using for extended periods my phone seems a bit slow- what to do to make it faster?
A: The test build for this port ( and MIUI v4) was done on my phone since Th3Bill (OP) does not have an Infuse. (Think about that for a minute, no Infuse and to date has brought us 2 roms to enjoy )
Four things I have done that work for me to make the phone faster: 1. Update Superuser ( if applicable.) 2. Choose a static (still) wallpaper rather than a live wallpaper. 3. In developer settings, change animation /transition to "off" or "0". 4.Use the app of your choice to clean up the phone, I use Cachemate.
One other tip for better battery life - this rom will let you download and use CM 10 themes. Using one that has darker backgrounds throughout uses less battery than themes using a lot of light colors.
OK - it's all yours !! I will help as best I can, Th3Bill has a link to this page and will be checking in as often as he can - you will find he is involved and supportive and there will be updates as new things are pushed to source. Regards.
Thanks for the start of the Q&A. Let me be the first then...
I am coming from Scott's CM10, do I just wipe, wipe, wipe and reflash or do I need to Heimdall (maybe with ICS) back first then flash the CNA ROM?
Which GAPPS do you recommend?

You are correct, should be able to wipe x3 and flash - one person also "fixed Permissions" to clear a FC issue.
Edit; I used the 7/26/2012 g apps, you might need to get the gallery2.apk
Here is what I used for gapps. Works just fine. v3
http://www.jokersax.com/developer-pages/jokersax/cm10-gapps/
Wiped/factory reset a couple of times, wipe cache, wipe Dalvik, another factory reset, flashed CNA ROM, flashed jellygapps v3, fixed permissions, rebooted, rebooted again and have an X, then
USB Mass Storage Toggle
App info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389375.
Usage: Tap on the Droid to switch UMS mode.
Tapped Droid but I cannot connect to this PC (work PC). I have to wait to I get home. Or suggestions are welcomed.

Guessing your work PC does'nt have phone drivers - I have been using that USB Mass Storage Toggle for some time, including on this build.
That's correct. So no big deal, another hour and I will be home and hopefully up and running once I connect there. I will post again with the results.

Okay, I am home, USB is connected, tapped the Droid, it says UMS is currently enabled. I downloaded the app from the link...
For the devices listed above, the App works like a charm.
•Latest stable version (1.1.4): Download APK (you'll probably want this one!)
Now what? Reboot and flash it?

I suppose the best route would be to start over. There should be no problem coming from Scott's excellent build.
Having said that, try installing a CM9 rom, let it settle in for 5 -10 minutes and reboot, wipes, flash and see if it will boot. Go back later and get the g apps. This is what worked for me. I can tell you that during the install, phone will cut off before making it back to the "reboot system now" screen, however it will restart and take you there so just hit power button to reboot. This rom does take 2-3 times as long to boot for the first time as opposed to other roms.
I'm not so sure you want to flash since they are .apk's

Bill did include the USB Mass Storage Toggle in the build. It should be there when you flash the rom. It was there when I flashed and it works. No additional d/l's were necessary.
Also, I didn't have any of the restarts you mentioned. I had a black screen for about 30 seconds when it went to the new CWM and then a black screen for about 30 more seconds when it rebooted to the Nexus X.
I did think I had problems because it stayed on the Nexus X screen for about 5 minutes before it booted up to the lock screen.
Edit: Also it booted itself to the Nexus 7 screen without asking after installing the rom package. Had to go back in and add the gapps.

Post the issues found in the Android 4.0.4 (ICS)....

Its real nice to have ICS finally for Galaxy R, But we have found some issues.
List of Issues:
1. MMC_CAP_ERASE is enabled by default (eMMC brick bug).
2. Only Tegra optimized Games are working fine, Other Games are lagging a lot (eg: Temple Run).
3. Pinch to zoom in gallery is lagging.
Hold and drag simply doesn't work. First I thought it was a bug in the TW-launcher, but tried with Apex and the same issue is present. I'm trying to solve this with my kernel.

Yes its RAM usage causes bit more battery drain. But jus wan to iterate the importance of Factory reset for ICS update. Without a Factory reset, the upgrade may FC of some of apps. Apart it wil cause a lot of battery drain too. So always do a factory reset before this upgrade from GB to ICS (It will clear the older battery stats file). Also, at the initial stages, there will be some battery issues as the system will be building the battery stats file. With few days, the battery will be back to normal.
When pushing the screen 2 seconds in xda app (just to reply or say thanks) the screen gets black and unresponsive.
And my baseband is I9103NELA1,is it ok?

I tried with my kernel that I created approx. a week ago for JB. It doesn't work (as I expected) because of the framebuffer changes. This is just a beta build and Sam releases src's after official release so we've to wait.

NELA1 is the baseband that came with austrian XWLA4. According to Machram's post it should be XXLQ3. That's because you just restored a nandroid backup and not did a regular installation process which is required to change modem (basedand/radio). (you can flash the modem via cwm or Odin separately) Restoring backups doesn't affect modem, bootloader (this can be crucial sometimes) .. not sure about sales code.
I'm happy to share that I encountered the first SOD. That could be because of too much of install uninstallation while charging. Yes, it is eating RAM but battery backup is good as gb.

Sorry for reposting it here again but I really need to know ... I leave for a weekend trip tonight and want to be carrying a stable build. These are the issues I am facing.
1. Lockscreen doesn't work at all.
2. The music kept pausing frequency on my way to office (AUX cable). Will try earphones soon.
3. A 2 sec press on power just restarts the phone and doesn't give the option to set the phone on vibrate (maybe a feature)
4. I am still getting the wrong baseband in About phone ( did anyone flash modem.bin. where is it?)
Maybe I was half asleep when I flashed it. Will flash it again once I reach home. But i did wipe dat and cache
Is hardware accelerated video decoding working confirmed in ics ..?
Anyone tested ..?
How to confirm ..?
In mx player i am not able to play 1080p video..

+1 for cLock weather issue but honestly I'm so thoroughly impressed with this ROM that I only see that as a minor hitch. I really never thought a fully functional JB would make it to the Atrix! Thank you Devs!

Thanks for creating this thread to keep the dev thread clean.
I got the black screen after I flashed the ROM and the boot logo. How to get past tge black screen? I had to FXZ back to ICS for now. I did a couple of battery pulls but it did not help.

Actually there's no specific reason(at least till now) and hence solution for this black screen bug. Some of the guys who have it have reported to come around it by taking out the battery and rebooting until they get rid of it.But again the number of battery pulls varies from just one time for some to about 40 minutes of battery pull for some others. So can't really say if you tried enough or what else might be the solution. This is the situation as is.
Keep trying or wait till it gets fixed there is really nothing else that you can do at the moment.

Is there a way to keep the capacitive key backlight always on? Didn't spot anything in the main thread about this.
What is with this "♫" symbol?? It's very annoying, ugly, and it's everywhere on this ROM. in instagram, when entering passwords, in descriptions of apps in the playstore.
Loving this so far, but I do have a few concerns. I did make sure to install correctly (CM recovery -> wipe data, flash, reboot, flash gapps), but I'm running into some minor issues.
- My phone seems to be sluggish at times, especially noticeable when turning the screen off and when it vibrates (anything that vibrates twice in a short amount of time). There's a good half-second delay with each of these, much slower than on CM10. Is this normal? Other than that it runs pretty quickly.
- This is the more major issue, the alarm. Everything else in the gapps package works properly except for the alarm function of the clock. When an alarm goes off, there's no popup or anything, and pressing power stops the vibration from the alarm, but it doesn't actually turn the sound off. I have to kill the Alarm Klaxon service to shut it off. Any idea what could be causing this? I haven't heard of anyone else with this bug yet.
Will try flashing once again with BMM this time..

Will try with BMM this time along with the patch. Fingers crossed! (I went through the threads and it appeared that people with BMM probably had a greater success rate with installing in the 3rd system - getting superstitious now! )
Will update the results.

Need help flashing the 4.2.2 ROM
My Atrix 2 is on the JB 4.1.2 leak. Model No. ME865. I have ROM Manager installed. I have copied the zipped ROM and GAPPS files to the external memory card. When I boot into Recovery mode, I cannot see any option to Wipe Data / Factory Reset. I am pretty new at this and so if anyone outlines the steps in detail or posts any link to point in me in the right direction, it would help me much. Thanks in advance.

If you are new to flashing ROM's stay away from this because currently a lot of users face black screen issues etc. Also it should not be installed over JB base as well. Read the entire thread from post one till current and you will see for yourself as it will enlighten you on a lot of aspects what people have already tried & which may save you from heartburn. JB gives a great user experience, enjoy it for a while & then get on the bandwagon when you are more of a informed user.

You were right. I watched the video on flashing ROMS from here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kumkZiGbTFI and tried it out. Got the black screen issue when flashing over JB. Then FXZd back to stock ICS and reflashed, but got the same thing again. So i'm back on ICS now. I suppose i'll upgrade to JB later and stay there for a while till this thing is sorted out.
Anyone getting YouTube problems.... Freezing... Could not stream at all with March build.

CyanogenMod Install Problems SGH-i727

Rooted fine a SII SGH-i727 samsung AT&T Skyrocket. I edited in-place the file to remove the reference for the phone model (prev. error on installation). Next repacked the zip with changes to the file. All looked good.
Copied files to SD card, rebooted holding vol/power. Able to browse using vol. keys to wipe data/rom, then install zip from SD. Waited a couple min. after no errors presented. Next updated the Google Play installer, waited again a couple just in case.
Turned off, then on, sits on CyanogenMod spinning circle forever and a day. Originally 25 min., then said OK, WTH?
Rebooted again, holding power down, then on, same just sitting there issue.
OK.... Repeated procedure again, wipe, this time did the davik and cache wipe, then installed zip, then Google. Reboot, STILL sits there on spinning circle for boot.
I don't get it. Several posts on this, but I redo, and get same results - insanity is setting in... Please advise, someone
I have my own computer repair business, but not as versed in Android/phones, at least to the OS/ROM level.

I'm using the clockworkmod, v5.0.2.6, Gapps 4.2.2, and CM-10.1.2-skyrocket.zip
Make sure you have twrp 2.5 or 2.6 (ditch cwm , it's buggy for JB and modern roms)
Make sure you're radio is JB friendly i.e. UCMC1 or UXUMA7
Copy cm10 zip and google apps zips to your sd,int or ext doesn't matter
Reboot to recovery
Wipe system, data, cache, dalvik, preload, android secure (do twice, doesn't hurt and maybe better)
Install(flash) cm10.1.2
Install(flash) Google apps
Reboot system
Notes:
1.Search , as this (and related issues) been discussed Gazillion times
2.Do exactly as above
3.Be specific when describing problems , your post is like an app log !
4.There's a dedicated cm10 thread in general forum..

OK, great, now it's working, but it reboots on making an outgoing phone call. Isn't the phone functionality the most important part?

Found that it reboots while Google Voice is installed --- and activated to make calls using GV.
If I turn off that feature in GV, the call will attempt to go through, no reboots. Enable making all calls through GV, phone reboots!

Yeah, thanks for that helpful hint --- read my other reply about this topic. :cyclops:
Found that it is the Google Voice App, when enabled on all calls, it reboots. Just found out now that when it's set to ASK, and I attempt to make a call, the call went through, without rebooting.

allright. So I'll pull the plunge on this one.
TWRP and the regular update process don't seem to work. So square one from what it seems

I updated with theOTA from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/shield-tablet/general/android-5-1-t3115536 just download the ota and supersu from that link and flash the OTA first then supersu and your done. I didnt even lose recovery after i flashed these!
Oh yeah and I used google sheets and docs for 4 hours this morning without a single freeze or crash normally i would've had at least 10 during that time. So yes its def. worth it.
So far.... I installed about 3 hours after release, it's much much smoother. Only once have I gotten the "what the frig is this thing doing" hang and sputter, while installing busy box. Colors are great. It's like flashing a new screen. Xposed super alpha for 5.1 working. Gravity box works, flat style colored bars works.
Now just waiting for custom kernels....
Depends. Update 3.0 has these issues:
1- Apps optimization on every reboot. (rebooting takes 5 or more minutes)
2- USB OTG not working (tried usb flash drives and nothing)
3- Controller not turning off when button pressed (by design)
I was on 5.0.1 rooted, I wiped everything, flashed 5.1 and rooted again, if you are wondering.

Something may have gone wrong. I've only had the optimization come up if I clear cache or install apps via recovery so far... And I've been trying to get it to crash at reboot....
Judging from the responses in this thread, it looks like it's finally time for me to unlock my bootloader and update from 4.4. Wish me luck, guys!

I've had it come up on several reboots. Many people report it too on the official Nvidia forums.
But the USB OTG thing did it, Im staying on 2.2.1 until a hotfix is released.
I stand corrected, =x I have 2 apps optimizing at boot.
No problems here
I installed ota 3.0 from twrp after wiping everything including internal memory and I have no problems....
No app optimizations after every reboot or havent encountered any lags or sound glitches + wifi performance is much better and no issues with hdmi or usb otg either, played half life 2 for like 2.5 hours straight and had no issues even for a second...
Don't now what happened with the people who are having problems with this update. I have 32gb lte version and the tab performance is perfect now, for me atleast.
So i would suggest wiping everything except external sdcard and flashing full rom + latest supersu
USB OTG is working for me. I can use my 8GB drive.
I also have the Apps optimizing at every boot bug. 189 of them nonetheless... So the wait is huge.
Full OTA dirty flash over previous 2.2.1, dalvik/cache wipe. I hope for a fix soon.
Wipe everything then install full rom, i am pretty sure u wont get apps optimizing every boot. For me after the update the boot cycles are the fastest yet and I also do have around 180 apps...

I wiped everything except internal and external storage, I rooted and I still had the optimizing apps every reboot. And not just 2 or 3 apps, all of them.

Well the only difference now is i wiped internal storage too and i have no idea if this helps but i have selinux mode set to permissive, if this doesnt work then i guess i am one of the lucky ones...
I also found that the speakers has a screeching irritating sounds when playing media on my wifi version.
Anybody else having the same problem?
