HTC Touch Pro Camera Templates

Hi,
I thought I would be able to crack this one for myself. But somehow I can't get it to work.
I would like to make some Camera Templates of my own. However the "how to" descriptions I have found won't work even though they should.
This is what I have done:
I made a animated gif (using Gimp I was able to see the structure of the deliverd templates)
The first picture (in the animated gif) is the template with a black area for the actual photo
2 The second layer is an empty transparent layer
3 This is a transparent layer with a a black area for the actual photo surrounded by white.
What happens is first I don't see any open arears while taking a picture. After taken a picture anyway the photo will be shown but not in the arears that I want wanted it to bb.
What am I doing wrong?
I have googled for two nights now and I have tried several ways to create this (GIMP and Photoshop CS3) I'm on some kind of track but is it the right one? This shoud have been so easy to create right?
Regards,
AJ
I cracked it ;-)
The secret is in how you save it.
This is how you do it:
Make sure that the background is set on transparent.
Take any picture and cut out for example a hole for the face by making this area black.
Make a second layer and make the same area black
Now draw a white line around this black area (not sure if you really need to do this so try it out)
Now create an animated gif that only runs once.
Now the big secret, I use Photoshop for this example but you'll probably regonize these settings for other programs
color reduction: Windows
dither algorythm: Pattern
Transparency: No transparency dither
Interlaced
Colors: 256
Matte (I made this black play around with it to see what happens)
Web Snap 0% (if you change this you get a more ghostly effect)
Regards,
AJ
These kind of things are very easy to make.
Just go to a website. Print screen it and past it in the 640 x 480 canvas. Then modify it until it is to your satisfaction.
Use the rectange tool to create the black area that will be used as the hole for the picture.
Now duplicate the rectange and go to "Layer Style" choose "Stroke" and make a white outside stroke of 1 pixel.
Now all you need to do is create an animated gif.
Go to "Windows" and choose "animation"
Make 2 frames in the animation box.
The first one is the picture with the black area
The second one is nothing but the black area with the white stroke, and save this as an animated gif.
color reduction: Windows
dither algorythm: Pattern
Transparency: No transparency dither
Interlaced
Colors: 256
Matte black
Web Snap 0%

Hi, I'm sorry for this noobish question, but where do these things go?
I saw somewhere on the internet that there should be a couple of "beeldthema's" or templates standard on this phone, but I only have the one of "Woman best buy top 10" and "MAN Person of the year" (this is 1 template with 2 pictures)
Is there a website where i can download these templates the other touch pro's have? I saw there was one on some Touch Pro's with a cook and some others too.
Thanks in advance
Hi, Ali3nSt0rm
On the Touch pro, and my gues is on the Diamond as well these things go in "my documents" "Templates"
(dutch)of "mijn documenten" en waarschijnlijk heet het in het Nederlands ook template en anders iets van Beeldthema ofzo.(/dutch)
Or you could just search your device for gif files and you'll find the spot where to put them.
For the internet:
Search for "camera templates" and you'll find lot's of free templates (like this one: http://xda-v.6te.net/)
You can also Google: [camera template site:xda-developers.com] and find a lot more templates.

VGA- GoogleMap/MSLive Search issue

Now that we have VGA screens, I noticed (and maybe it was doing this before) that you can zoom in all the way in "aerial" views.
Google Maps seem to have 18 layers of zoom. But the closest zoom, and I'm guessing is because of the VGA screen, still far out. I can only get in to a block radius.
MSLive search has 17 layers of zoom. Here's the weird part. Certain locations I can zoom all the way down to its lowest zoom line on the left of the screen.
But if I look at my city, I'm missing the two lowest zoom. I can only get it to about a 5 block zoom? I could go all the way to my house before.
Did both google and MS change the way you can zoom, or is this something new with VGA screens?
Also, is there a way to adjust text on the screen? Its formatted for QVGA so on a VGA screen, all the street names are micro small.
I'm guessing that you're actually getting the same zoom level as on a qvga device, but it all looks much smaller on a vga screen due to its smaller pixels.
The "zoom level" is actually about photo resolution. If you were able to get a high-resolution picture of your house on a qvga device, that same picture will look about half as big (but sharper) on a vga screen, and the vga screen will show a lot more of the surrounding scenery, so it seems like you're not "zoomed in" as far as before. But resolution-wise, you get the same level of detail.
Or, to put it the other way around: on your qvga phone, the picture of your house was displayed bigger because of the screen's bigger pixels, but it was also blockier so that the "bigger" picture didn't provide more detail.
As to the zoom levels missing in the MSLive app, that has nothing to do with your screen; it's just that MSLive doesn't have the high-detail sattelite data for your region yet.
I guessed that too, but that still doesn't explain why I can't zoom all they way like before in my town, yet I can zoom all they way elsewhere.
These two apps have always needed the ability to adjust the line thickness on maps with vga devices too. Sometimes it just gets too hard to read.
i wonder if theres a hack that someone could do...to fix the line thickness...

look for S2V,its just like the iphone. one little tip 4 ya, next time try using the search button. this program has been around for a while and been talked about a bunch of times.usually when questions like this get asked noone answers cause it is so simple and all you gotta do is search.
edit: the stock album from htc is pretty good imo, its just like S2V.

HTC Album 3.2 does all that and it's fast as heck.
It's too big to attach but here's a link:

Resco Photo Manager is the beast of photo editing/viewing/management - does everything & is super fast - free trial but it does cost after that ...
when combined with the resco file explorer you get thumbnails everywhere so you don't even need to fire up the photo app

Photo App that can use a Half transparent image as "background" "gauge/pattern/jig".

Photo App that can use a Half transparent image as "background" "gauge/pattern/jig".
Hi,
1st of all, excuse me if beeing in the wrong section.
I tried some "PiP and Panorama" photo apps already, but I search for somethign different.
I need a photo app, where you can put any image as a half-transparent background, while taking photos.
The half-transparent image should act as an "gauge/pattern/jig" and should not influence the photos taken while using the half-transparent image.
I remember the panorma app from my old Sony w800i, where, while taking panorama photos, every next photo beeing shot, was shwoing a half of the previous photo, so you coudl attach the next shot properly.
What I am trying to achieve with this ? It is for a little project, to add images into another image, which otherwise would involve lots of photoshopping i.e. Distort/Skew/Perspective and so on.
Whit this app Im searching for, a lot of photoshopping would not be needed, as I could use the half transparent image in the camera background, to take photos from the right angle without needing to use Distort/Skew/Perspective later.
I really hope humans understand this wall of text
Thanks in advance.
Photochron from the PlayStore did the job...more or less :/

App for taking similar pictures using reference from previous picture

So i am hoping to find a camera app that will help me take near identical pictures each day. I am doing a weight loss challenge with some friends and want to take a picture each day and be able to string everything together into a video showing weight loss over time.
I can do my best to stand in the same place and snap a pic. But ideally I would like to be able to overlay yesterday's pic with transparency in a camera app so that I can have a reference point for distance, position, zoom, etc. For the next pic. Basically so that whoever is taking the pic can line up the daily pic with the exact position of the previous pic by overlapping the real image with yesterday's image..... Hopefully I'm making sense.
I've been searching for an app that will let me do this. Does one exist? or one of you bright people out there could write one and make $0.99 of of me. Any thoughts? Much appreciated!
