I'm running stock. Not rooted. Disabled most of the junk. No Facebook. Medium use. No phone calls. Connected to WiFi, 4-5 signal bars.
9hrs total up time.
3hrs 50mins screen on time.
Is it about right or alarming?

You can get better battery life. See attached screen pics. I took readings on two different occasions and have achieved 5+ hours SOT at 54 and 55 percent screen on usage. Battery usage at 40 hours with 31% remaining and 36 hours with 26% remaining. I turn off auto sync, location (only turn on when needed), 2 minute screen shut-off when idle, turn off circle clock. Phone usage includes calls, emails, messaging, youtube, flixster, web surfing, xda, camera, no facebook. Display at 60% auto.
Ah. I have sync off. Location is on battery saver. I'll try turning off location.

Hello guys,
Have a small question about battery use when phone is idle, e.g. at night. I loose 1%/hour with 3G/WiFi disabled, sync disabled, and 2%/hour with 3G/WiFi enabled, sync disabled. So no sync, no apps updating or refreshing. When I sleep for 9 hours I lose 18% with 3G on, which seems quite much to me. This also used to be only 4-5% with 3G on. While using the phone my battery is fine actually, I lose 2-3% an hour idle with sync enabled (whatsapp, push gmail, hourly weather, tweetdeck every 6 hours). The battery seems to be a bit worse then before 2.3.4, but I'm not quite sure about that.
So I downloaded BetterBatteryStats to see what might keep my phone awake at night (see pics). The slow decline is at night, no sync. As you can see there is one blue block in which the phone is awake but the screen is turned off. However, this wakelock is not present in the BetterBatteryStats output afaik. Anybody has any thoughts on reducing battery use when idle? Cause I see alot of people who lose like 1-2%, I would like to have that as well!

When in normal use my phone doesn't show any abnormal wakelocks, it's just that the battery drains quite (too) fast when idle, can't seem to figure out why.

Battery life is a difficult topic as comparisons are so difficult and what not, but generally I must say that I'm getting fantastic battery life. I've used my phone quite a bit today and after 13 hours I still have 51% left. This is with my new UTB Rom.

How much screen on time? Go to battery stats and tap on the screen field to see it.

The battery on this thing seems amazing. On my first charge, I went down to 42% after 1 day and 2 hours with 1h 45min screen on time. Not the longest screen on time, but still fantastic overall imo.
First charge and usage was; A few texts, 10-20 min of video, fair amount of browsing, installing lots of apps, tweaking and changing everything about, GPS, camera etc. and brightness was at 70-85% brightness for about 1-2 hours and dropped to 50% for the rest of the time, however, I didn't have my SIM in for the first hour of use (testing the mobile first to make sure it worked ok), wifi was on constantly as well.
Second charge and usage was; the same as above but a fair bit more browsing was done and a few games (angry birds and ROM emulators) and brightness was at 50% the entire time, plus this time the SIM was in for the entire time.

About 2 hours.

I went from 7:30am to 3:35 PM max brightness. with 43% to spare!
I've never had any problems with my Nexus S until my battery took a hit with 4.0.4 and now with 4.1.1 it's being a total pain in the ass.
For reasons I cannot figure out Exchange goes nuts. I turned sync off and didn't even check email yesterday but my battery had 10% left after 5 hours. With Gingerbread my screen was almost always the #1 battery user but since then others have taken away the crown. Exchange or Mediaserver with Android OS being runner up if not finishing first on occasion. I've been consciously trying to not use my phone for much because using it for much of anything means I'm down to like 3 hours on a charge. The phone never goes to sleep, the "Awake" bar is solid or a very intense bar code while the screen is more black space than anything by a large margin.
I am also finding that sms notifications aren't notifying me like they should be. Like I received a text 30 mins ago that I didn't know about until I went in and checked and seen one there waiting. Notifications are enabled. But I don't get the sound or the notification in the notification bar.
I flashed JB stock soju 4.1.1 (JRO03E) and I am having amazing battery life as you can see in the image with mild usage of 3 hrs 25 min screen on time. Usually with active use of browsing on 3G I reach 4 hrs screen on time.
I also don't have any problem with notifications.

Hi guys, I've flashed the 4.2.1 ROM by albinoman887 and only when the screen is on the lowest brightness it uses a lot of battery, really quickly.
Thread can be found here
When it's on standby the battery lasts for about 7 hours, but when it's on it lasts for around 45 minutes. Please help
I've tried
- Wiping battery stats
- Calibrating battery.

Your horrible cell signal is at least part of the problem. Your phone is constantly pinging the towers looking for a better connection. That's a serious battery hog.
You may have the wrong radio for your carrier. Or you may live in a dead zone for your carrier.
Also, is this your first battery cycle after a full wipe? I get results like that for the first discharge cycle after install. But then it becomes fantastic. Drain the battery all the way until the phone shuts off. Then charge it using a USB cord on your computer (not the standard power charger) for an hour past when it says 'full'. The slower USB charge can help to give it accurate voltage readings while charging so it doesn't stop charging too early. See if that helps.
The battery on Albino's 4.2.1 is pretty spectacular for most people, so the good news is that this is probably a fixable issue on your end.
The signal was when I'm out and about, most of the time I have 3-4 bars on HSDPA, I may do a full 24 hour charge or get a new battery
I have this problem too.But if i flash last build, baterry life is good.

3000Ah battery lasts only 3 days with basically no usage. Also percentages don't add up.
What could be the cause? Any quality apps that can determine the cause?

and what seems to be the problem ? its fairly normal. you thought the battery will hold 3 months ? what cause ? well the wifi and mobile network. those also consume battery. turn on airplane mode and you will see 4 days.
I had phones with 2500mAh batter lasting almost 7 days with minimal usage.
Also app usage was: 12% + 5% + 3% + 2% + 2% + 1% + 1% = 26%
so something is sucking 74% of battery??
Turns out WiFi connections sucks the battery even if you're not downloading anything.
Android/Google battery usage calculation is just terrible.
