Hey guys I'm new job here so give me a break if I don't certain things Loool,
I bought this phone recently and it came with stock jellybean (WW) 1.14.40.16 but when I tried to update the phone by downloading ththe update files from the Asus site (got the file unzipped it then moved the unzipped file into my phones root directory) when the update notification popped up on my phone I accepted it and it started to update but then said that there was an error
Could somebody help me find a solution, i really want to update my phone to kitkat

I really don't know what custom ROMs are supported for the ASUS Zenfone 5.This is really frustrating as I'm not at all able to find any.Would be of great help as i've already rooted my phone,its the T00J version with WW firmware.Someone please help.

Hi there
I have a lenovo s930 came with jelly bean and later I upgraded it to Kitkat using the official update from Lenovo.
Then I rooted the phone (in kitkat)..Now there is another official update from lenovo, 331Mb in size..
I have tried system restore, then also the updates gets downloaded completely but shows the update failure message after rebooting..
I tried to use Vroot to unroot the phone, but it doesnt get detected.
I am looking forward to unroot the phone and install the update..question is how can I unroot it..
Any suggestions or ideas please...thank you in advance

You need the stock recovery and an unaltered system partition to get the update. So xposed? That would need to be uninstall correctly if you have it.

Hello everybody ,I hope your doing well.
Here is my problem:
After installing "GL tools" app on my zenfone it brick ,it got stuck on the Asus (powered by android) display but without the USB logo .I'm not able to enter bootloader mode as it only display a logo of a battery (white color) ,the recovery mode is not accessible either .I wasn't able to flash the ROM using adb sideload as I'm not able to access the phone in order to accept the RSA key.I also tried the procedure described on the asus-zenfone webside (it's the adress of the website without the w w w and the . c o m ) but I'm stuck at the 4th step because the phone gets undetected when I click on 'Begin download'.
Please guys help me ,It's a brand new phone ,bought it one month ago :crying:

There's a good chance Gltools was not compatible with your device I am guessing. You need to be absolutely sure you flash files made for your specific device, our are well known to be compatible.
That said, you can ask for help here, in this thread dedicated to your device...
