Google is your friend. Let me google that for you. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=android+change+build+number
However, you need to be rooted and modify build.prop. BE CAREFUL, you may damage your installation. Check these threads:
1) How to edit build.prop and change build number -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1219527
2) Explanation of every string in build.prop http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2503997

Me too, for android market compatibility issue since I've changed ro.build.name and ro.build.model in build.prof file to the original names with the initial belief that it would pass the compatibility check. It didn't since android market picked up the info from somewhere else like kernel version (I presume and hope).

I Have it too, I think it's called "A13" I'm not 100% sure. The only thing I know is that the WiFi is not working :crying:
I am interested to see if that can be fixed by an update or a new ROM.

A13 is the name of the processor. I have the same tablet and I am currently looking for a way to root it! If anyone finds a way to root it, please let me know!
My tablet came already rooted.
If your tablet is like this one then it should be already rooted.

i know how to root it! I have the exact same SoftwinerEVB Tablet which i bought off of eBay.
Some guy on android central or something said in a forum that if you factory reset the tablet (back everything up so you can restore after reset) it will be rooted, i followed the instructions AND IT WORKED!! to make sure I had done it I used SuperOneClick to try and root it and a message popped up saying i had already been rooted. Try this method to root it and tell me how it works out
P.S. It won't automatically get the superuser app so you'll have to download it off Google Play or something
this tablet comes rooted if you need to check to make sure all you have to do is get root checker from the play store.

Any idea on how to flash this device with CWM Recovery and is there any suitable Rom for this device?
There's an app on Google play which can check whether phone is rooted or not!
As for cwm and rom, u r gonna have to do a Google search!
Antutu benchmark can give full details of ur device with model no... Try that too!

Hi, I ordered the same tablet from Ebay and was also looking for info. Looks like I found it...
I ran "Root Checker" and by root access it states "access granted", so I am assuming it was delivered with a rooted Android OS.
MY question is, how do you install *.apk files to it?
...and by the way THANKS FOR THE HELP!

The way you download apk files to it is:
1. Plug in tablet to computer
2. Enable the usb file transfer thing
3. Download apk in file form
4. Transfer the file to anywhere on the internal (or external) memory (I prefer to put them in the download folder)
5. Disable usb file transfer thing
6. Open File manager
7. Navigate to the folder you placed the file
8. Tap the file listed
9. Press ok
10. Done
P.S. make sure installation of non market apps is checked in the security section of settings.

[Q] New ROM, now EA Games won't work

I just changed my ROM after months of running the same one, but now my previously purchased EA Games won't work. When I try to load them I get the message "This game is not authorised for use on your Android device". This is despite me restoring my Android ID using "Settings storage" in Titanium.
Any ideas? The games concerned are NFS Most Wanted, Real Racing 3 and Asphalt 8.
What rom did you change to? Change it back
Hi,
Maybe a change in the build.prop file compared to the previous rom you used?
Maybe a lot of time, but compare the two build.prop files, each line for "# begin build properties" and "# ADDITIONAL_BUILD_PROPERTIES" (/system/build.prop)...
No DPI changed, other mods?

Ok, it will take a while though because I'll have to restore the backup of my original ROM. I haven't changed DPI or any other mods really.

Yep
Like jd1639 asked, what rom?
Maybe ask in the rom thread, maybe you are not the only one with this problem? maybe a workaround/"fix"? Or at least an explanation?

I've moved from Cataclysm to Mahdi-ROM.
Not really sure what I should be looking for? There is a difference in the first line of the build.prop:
Cataclysm
# begin build properties # autogenerated by buildinfo.sh ro.build.id=KOT49H ro.build.display.id=KOT49H
Mahdi-ROM
# begin build properties # autogenerated by buildinfo.sh ro.build.id=KVT49L ro.build.display.id=KVT49L
"Settings storage" isn't how you restore your android id. In titanium > menu > scroll to penultimate set of options called "your device" > manage android id

I tried that and it told me that my Android ID was the same as the one in the only backup I have.
The problem is resolved now, although I'm not quite sure how. I uninstalled the games and then redownloaded them (well over a gig each :-/) and now they seem to be working.
Thanks all, for your help and suggestions

[Completed] [Q] I need help for phoenix refurbish

Hi,
I have nokia N8 and I recently managed to downgrade firmware from nokia belle refresh to scandinavian 11.05 firmware using instructions from this forum. Now I would like to refurbish it, but I want to use lowest possible firmware that is available for my product code. First I have one question, on mrcrab.net for nokia N8 RM-596 the lowest possible software is 11.12. I click on that link, and than I find my product code 059D6F4. And here I encounter my first problem there are 2 versions, V1 and V2. V1 has Variant ID: 4566463622, and V2 has Variant ID:4732303273. I don't know what is my variant ID, I searched on google and I can't find how to read Variant ID from my phone. So my first question is how to find Variant ID for my phone. Next I tried to write firmware from V2 version, although I am not sure if it is my Variant. So I downloaded all files from this page, put it in RM-596 folder in .../Phoenix/Products, renamed all files that contain RM-596 or RM596 in their name, so that all characters before these are deleted. But still there are some files with names without these chars so I left them as they are. Than I click Flashing, Firmware Update, than I click button with 3 dots [...]. In new window I get recognized my product code, in first column is 059D6F4, Description is empty, DP ver column shows 2.0. Since this is the only option I have, and only folder in Products folder is RM-596, I choose this and click OK. But here is problem and my second question, in Firmware Update window Product Code, and SW version text boxes are grayed, and Variant dropdown doesn't have any options. What am I suppose to do regarding this problem, thank in advance. Also I disable antivirus, run Phoenix as administrator, phoenix version is 2012.04.003.47798, the same one I used for downgrade from Belle refresh to Scandinavian FW. If anyone wants to help me via TeamViewer I would appreciate it.

Serial number changer not working - Xposed

Hey everyone,
I am using the Xposed serial number changer but it will not change my serial number. I entered the serial number and clicked update/apply and it said that the serial number was saved and will be updated upon reboot, however when I rebooted my device the serial number had not updated. Is there any way around this? I am running android 8.0 oreo on an SM-G950F (but I used buildprop to change the phone to an SM-G975U).
As always, any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Rifts
since exposed is pretty old and not really made for android pie i would suggest you to move on and look for a magisk module that can do the trick
