[Q] What is the best gaming spec'd tablet? - Shield Q&A

Hey guys, I'm just browsing to all the forums asking what is the best spec'd gaming tablet that's maybe over $300-400. A tablet that can run smooth on Heroes of Order and chaos, order and chaos, asphalt 8, all those high end games. Please help me find the right one.

Nvidia Shield Tablet I play Asphalt 8 without a hint of problems, even at max processor power. If you want a larger screen, it will cost more than $400.

The Shield Tablet has the best graphics performance of any tablet you can buy right now. The Nexus 9 should be very good for gaming as well if you want something slightly larger.

Either nexus 9 or nvidia shield tablet
Both the Nexus 9 and Nvidia shield are stellar tablets. Both have the same processor and come with a practically native android experience with android 5.0. However, I would buy Nvidia shield any day over Nexus 9 because of the streaming, and recording feature built into the OS. Not only that but you can also stream and play PC games right to your tablet (if your PC has a Nvidia processor). You can play PC games on your tablet, stream them to your TV, and take them on the go (look into it its pretty damn cool). All in all Nvidia did a better job than Google in my opinion. However, Nexus 9 is still a great choice. Personally, I will probably get the ipad air 2 simply because of Vainglory lol.

[Q] Nexus 7 vs Archos Gamepad

Hi Guys,
I want to buy a new Tablet, which is good for gaming. First I decided to the Archos Gamepad, because it's cheap and has controllerbuttons like a psp or any pad of a console. Then, today I saw the Nexus 7, which has a better hardware and is not much more expensive. The tablet would be in use for surfing at home and for gaming at home and at travels. Personally I like the Gamepads design very much, although the nexus is pretty too. Games like Dead Trigger stutters only at the archos one, but not on the Nexus.
Now I don't know which one fits better to me, should I buy the Gamepad because of the Buttons, or the Nexus 7 because of the better Hardware?
I look forward to hear from you
pushing allowed? I'm new here..
Tegra 3 is not much HW better than RK3066 (only CPU performance is better in T3 - 4cores>2cores)
Significan difference is: 44mil polygons/s(Mali400) vs. 129mil polygons/s(T3 GPU)

£99 Gaming Tablet - Acer Iconia B1

Hey all I picked up one of the Acer Igonia B1 tablets from Asda yesterday just for giggles. The specs looked reasonable and it really dosent disapoint. You can play a fair few games on this thing without it lagging out.
Video proof:
Hi,
although it is a nice review (though I don't get why you had such a long intro and then said a lot of things again plus the constant "hi" made me feel like it was supposed to be in like 5 different videos, not in one review), I don't think that this tablet is suited for gaming. Now, at 99 pounds, it may be the best thing out there today, however, that is only due to the dualcore processor becoming mainstream (just as one core 1Ghz procesors became before) and Acer is only among the first who gave the dual core to its low end tablets... Now sure, the dual core can run a lot of games but call it a gaming tablet is a bit too much if you ask me. The games you showed were... Well, the Need For Speed was a bit slow, if you ask me (now I'm really sensitive about FPS and I get dizzy if I play a game with 20-24FPS only) and the other games weren't HW demanding at all. For example, the Dead Trigger is excelently optimalized (at least for all the dual cores) but when it comes to more intensive gaming, like GTA, I don't think you're gonna have a good time. It can run a lot of games - today, but after half a year? It's gonna breathe hard not only because of the dual core, but mainly because of only 512MB ram. People from acer didn't sit down and said "well, we need great tablet for the lowest price possible, what can we get" but sat and said "well, what parts can we get for the lowest price?" This is the outcome. I wouldn't really buy that for gaming (at least if it had 1GB ram) but I can see a lot of less demanding people happy with that (dual core is excellent for browsing and "not so hardcore" games).
People want a lot for £99 these days!
Anyway, good review, more in-depth than others I've seen, glad that it can handle many of the popular games & will be picking one up soon enough

Hey! I bought the tablet 2-3 days ago and I am really satisfied with it. For 3D gaming on the tablet I have tested the following games:
-Order & Chaos Online (Runs with absolutely no lag for me, however, graphics is not as good as it is on iPod and possibly other android devices)
-Shadowgun: Deadzone (Runs smoothly)
-Shadowgun (Same as above)
-Heroes of Order & Chaos (Does lag a bit at some points, but not much and it is playable)
-The Sims: Freeplay (Runs smoothly, but lags at menu screen)
-Six Guns (Runs smoothly, nothing to say on this one)
-Mass Effect: Infiltrator (Runs smoothly, haven't experienced any lag yet)
-Critical Strike: Portable (Runs smoothly)
-Minecraft (Runs smoothly)
I am going to try Modern Combat 3 when it has finished downloading and I will possibly try some other games aswell
Hiya I have this tablet and I've had a few sl101 and a few shanzai tabs and I can say this is one is good at gaming but I was really miffed as the capacative sensor went wonky so after loosing my temper with Acer support I decided to fix myself and it was amazingly easy I didn't have to do much
The back popped off simple and I discovered the black ribbon cable for the sensor was about a 1mm loose at one end and clip wasn't homed so I pushed it in and now its perfect good all rounder tablet I would say not a hardcore gamer tab but you wouldn't expect a 99 quid tab to be awesome
Just my tuppence

I just picked this baby up today, its great! Modern combat 4 works as well as it does on my optimus 4x. Just wish the internal memory was bigger, but if I can persuade my GF to root it I will no longer have that problem very recommended, poor mans nexus 7!

I to just got this tablet and it's okay for the price but found a lot of my games are not compatible with it like gta vice city and gta 3.
And I found that reading is hard to do because of the plastic screen I would say it's a 8 out of 10 tablet.

Update sold it due to compatibility with most apps so lowering my rating to 6 out of 10

Samsung galaxy tab 3 8,0 Vs Ipad mini

hello everyone ;
well i guess i need some help to choose between tab 3 8.0 or ipad mini coz they are kinda same price ,, i just looking for durable device without lags ,, i saw some reviews on youtube and some vs videos about both and ipad was little a head in some game like tumble run and kinda smooth but i am kinda noob coz i am an android user for one year :$
i am going to use this device just for reading pdfs ,, viewing some media and may be some games
so i want to help me guys
I had both. Both have similar performance. Both lag sometime when home button is pressed. It takes a few secs to respond. The iPad lagged a bit playing asphalt 8. The tab 3 doesn't.
If you want best performance in the 8 inch tablet have you looked at the lg G pad? I'm looking to go that route myself.

If performance is your priority, go for an Nvidia Tegra Note 7 or a Nexus 7. Both 7 inch, but perform great.
For me, the primary benefit of the Tab 3 8.0 was to get the LTE version for phone + texting usage so I can stop carrying around an old phone to tether a tablet.

I have both the TN7 and the Shield tablet. I will be posting my full review. But from my first couple of days with it, the shield tablet is wayyy faster. Not just in games but multitasking for sure. The shield tablet has a little more kelper cores, more ram, and slightly higher clock speed. While playing ppsspp games on both you will notice a big different in fluidity. More to come.

Can't decide between Nexus 7 2013 or ZenPad S 8.0..

I'm looking for a new tablet, as my HP Stream 8 stopped working a few days ago. I'm on a budget of $130 for a tablet, preferably from 2013-2016. So, it comes down to the ASUS Nexus 7 (2013) or the ASUS ZenPad S 8.0. I was thinking of saving up some more money for the ZenPad, because it has an amazing display, but the Nexus 7 is smaller and runs Marshmallow. I basically just use tablets to watch videos, listen to music, and do some lightweight gaming (Clash of Clans, Fallout Shelter, Jetpack Joyride.)
Any help/opinions appreciated!
