[Q] How to get in recovery mode without disabling fast boot? - Verizon HTC One (M8)

I messed up with 4.4.4 ROM and it stucks at HTC Logo, asks me for pin and that is it. It even doesn't start the setup wizard. I need to boot in recovery mode to get my nandroid backup.

You have a custom recover installed? Why not hold the power button and vol up for 10+ secs. Once off....hold vol down and power button then toggle to recovery.
HTC One M8

you could try using adb commands

You likely encrypted your phone which means you will have to wipe it to recovery.
App called quickboot on Google play. Gives choice of recovery or bootloader or normal.

Somehow it passed HTC logo and could fix it. About the app I couldn't get it to home screen. It was fresh install 1st boot and by default fast boot is enabled. That's why I asked how can I enter recovery with fast boot enabled. It can be useful in the future because I like to test out some ROMs.

[Q] Desire S stuck htc logo

Exprtes i have desire s S-Off
now i cant reach recovery mode to install new rom or do wipe
always restarting on htc logo
so if i will install new recovery problem will solved ................
thanks
What recovery did you have? Ext4 or cwm?
What happened to cause this? did you pull out the battery?
Have you tried to reboot the device into boot loader and then enter the recovery manually?
Stolen from previous XDA post, sorry no reference
"Basically it's business as usual. Hold [volume-down] and [power] when the phone's turned off. That last bit's the tricky part - because of a feature called fast boot the DS does not really turn off when you shut it down but just hibernates. So you have to either turn off fast boot (in Settings -> Power) or pull the battery before attempting to enter recovery."

Can't get into twrp, phone keeps booting

Hey guys, so I rooted the phone, unlocked bootloader, and try to install the twrp 2.2 on my phone, but i still cant boot into it from the hboot...it just reboots over and over until i turn it off.
I've installed twrp both from the ap and manually by doing fastboot recovery openrecovery-twrp etc etc
Fastboot in the settings is disabled.
I want to ultimately install clearrom4.1 on it and call it a day.
Any ideas? Cheers.

Try installing it from GooManager https://play.google.com/store/apps/...251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5zMHVwLmdvb21hbmFnZXIiXQ..
Open the app, hit menu and install the open recovery from there. Then boot while holding Power + Vol Down (or adb reboot recovery)
Edit: I'm stupid and can't read. I didn't notice that you already installed using the app...Try it again though and then adb reboot recovery to see if you can get there. Once you install a custom rom there should be an extended power menu where you can boot into recovery directly.
I'm sure you did but just asking, on goo manager, did you install " open recovery script" ?
AT&T OneX twrp2.2 CleanROM4.1SE
In power settings turn off fastboot. The turn off phone and boot into hboot.

Rooting and recovery

I have a problem when I reboot into recovery. The recovery that I am using on my HTC One S is TWRP. When I go into the bootloader and go to recovery, it will boot up to the HTC screen with red text on it. Then the phone will restart and boot normally. Then I would have to go to bootloader again and go into recovery and then it goes into TWRP. I don't know why I have to do this twice. I am not sure what I have done wrong and I can't find a way to fix this. Also I've been trying to flash CM10 and on the first boot, it stays on the animation for a long time. And one last thing. Root checker says I am rooted but when I use Apex Launcher and use a stock HTC widget, it says that it doesn't have root permissions. So can anyone help me with this? This is also my first time on XDA. Another problem. When I restore from a backup, it boots up fine. But then it stays on the lockscreen for couple of seconds and it restarts again. And when I rooted my phone by flashing SuperUser, It didn't say upgrading android. Was it suppose to?
Bump. I too have this problem with booting twice to get into recovery and can't find any answers. Thanks.
I have the exact same issue. I experienced it with both CWM and TWRP. Also when I reboot from recovery, the device seems to reboot twice, and it gets back to normal with a dialog asking if I want to send an error report to HTC. I was beginning to wonder what I have done wrong.

I would suggest downloading the newest twrp recovery IMG and flashing it with fastboot.. As far as flashing cm 10 make sure you flash the boot.IMG through fastboot before you flash the ROM..and wipe both caches after installation.. If you get stuck at boot animation go back to recovery and wipe both caches again...are you guys all using the all in one tool... Or flashimggui..?

[Q] bootlooping on carbon

I'm starting to have boot looping problems and I tried to flash carbon latest nightly. I did everything right but it gets stuck on "your boot loader is unlocked and/or it gets stuck on carbon boot screen. I can't get to the fastboot and adb/fastboot won't recognize the device. If any help that would be great.
Well let's take it one step at a time.
First, I would try to boot to recovery and flash a stable backup - you have one of these I hope? So power off the device, and hold vol up + power to turn it on. Should boot to recovery.
If you can't make it into recovery for some reason, you should be able to make it into fastboot/bootloader mode and use the FXZ thread to restore your phone to stock. To do this hold power + camera, should boot to a selection menu.
Good luck.

press both power + volume down until it boots on bootloader. then choose recovery, press power and do necessary steps to flash a new rom
You need to restore your cwm or twrp backup in this case...
You phone's not restarting properly coz the custom myt have been missing a file or you might have forgotten to clear the data, caches and delvik cache before installing the custom rom zip file...
As of now...i recommend you restore your backup first

In TWRP, I wiped everything but internal storage. I thought it was a norm coming from a S4 but I don't think I should have done that now. I have the factory image downloaded. Just trying to get into fastboot mode.
I got into fastboot mode. the mistake I was making was that I was stop holding the buttons once the phone powered off.
Yeah...this boot stuck thing happend to me too...during custom rom installation...

If you long press the power button to force a reboot as soon as the screen goes off hold down the volume down button and it will put you into the bootloader screen, Getting to recovery from there is a piece of cake. Holding the volume down button at the beginning of a reboot (when screen is off) to get to the bootloader and/or recovery screen has worked on every device I've tried it on. Just one more way.
