Promo video (I made it myself too!)
A Home Screen replacement that can be easily activated/deactivated so you can switch your mobile/tablet to a child mode.
Features:
You can turn your tablet/mobile in a family device by just enabling the app. It behaves as a launcher so it blocks most of the access to unwanted features (it even blocks the taskbar without being root, only in Android 4.0, 4.1 has disabled this).
Dads can filter which apps are available for their kids, so they can avoid them to access to unwanted apps.
It recommends new apps for installing (from third party at the Google Play Store), reviewed by the Cience Education Institue of the University of Girona (Spain).
The desktop, called MILAN Playground is an interactive environment, with a lot of elements that react and move by touching them, so the desktop itself is like a game.
Parents can protect the configuration with a password.
New scenarios/desktops coming in future updates.
Now the story behind this (you can skip it, is not that interesting but I wanted to share it):
Not so long ago, I decided I wanted to develop games and interactive apps for different platforms. I got really lucky, and a company hired me as a freelancer to develop a software they were planning to include in a tablet for launching next August. This was at the end of the last year.
I suggested them an interactive desktop for kids (the tablet was family oriented), with a lot if interactive elements so the desktop could be like a game itself. They liked the idea and I started to work on it part time, combining it with my full time job and family.
Some weeks ago, I got fired from my job, and instead of feeling miserable (well I feel like it a little bit, but not too much: being fired never is easy) I realized how lucky I am now for being able to work full time in something I like and, hopefully, will pay the bills (for now).
So here it is, an interactive desktop for Android, that can be easily switched by changing the default desktop (just press "exit" and it will ask for your default launcher). I'm really excited as it is my first big app designed and made by myself. It maybe has some rough edges, so here's where I need your help, I need your feedback.
The company that hired me is called MILAN (like the Italian city), so the app is called MILAN Playground.
PS: They are considering to add some specific features available through an unlocker. I'll update the post when I have news about this.
woowRescue is an app for mobile devices which is designed to be an Integrated Emergency System, in areas ranging from healthcare to police matters. For everyone! Sure!

What type of emergency does it detect?
The system can automatically detect accidents involving movement, in cars, motorbikes, buses, etc. This means it can also detect sports accidents. The system can launch the mechanisms needed for effectively monitoring the situation, as well as facilitating healthcare attention, speeding up the response times of the different Emergency Services.
It can also detect when people go missing or get lost, providing valid, sensitive information to police services, maximising the possibility of finding the lost person, or in a worst-case scenario, reconstructing the events leading to their disappearance.
How does it work?
The app is installed on any Smartphone (currently Android only), and does not need to be configured by the user to work. It can be active 24 hours a day, constantly monitoring for any possible emergency situations. Everything is designed to work independently and automatically without the active participation of the user.
How are the alerts produced?
The app can send alerts via text message, phone call and notifications in the style of messaging programmes.
It includes a very innovative element which allows notifications to be sent to nearby devices whose users have medical expertise, even if they are not known to the app user.
What happens if the user is unconscious after an accident?
The app functions normally. In fact, it was conceived and designed from the start to offer a system which can send out alerts in the most difficult moments, even when the user is unconscious.
In the most extreme cases, the app can speak by itself and communicate verbally with the person receiving the emergency call, giving them information about the accident. The verbal communication is produced by a voice synthesiser installed in the Smartphone, and can be in different languages (English, French, German, Spanish and Italian).
For more information on functions and features, download this PDF document.
Please download the APP.
I downloaded the application and am testing. I'm a bit surprised, it seems intuitive and very useful.
My phone is rooted, the application has encountered this feature, and installed itself as system application.
How have you developed that feature for rooted devices? Do you use any special library for this?
Here is a minimalistic brain function app that i'm currently developing. "Multi-task is an app that helps improve cognitive function by teaching your brain how to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at the same time. By using a flashcard and confusion technique we can force your brain to make the most efficient choices based on the tasks you face and how long you have to complete them, while stimulating specific areas of the brain to create what is known as a 'hot brain'".
The idea here is to try and make you split your attention while making you conduct critical decisions to be able to let you navigate your mind a lot better than before (think lumosity on steroids without the drawback of having static events).
Features:
- FREE
- Minimalist design
- Levels focused on different trains of thought
- Online Profile
- Graphs and statistics for your brain
- Leaderboards
- Works best on ART runtime (Android 4.4+ only)

I would like some feedback in terms of features and different timings that users can handle. I'm planning on adding multi-player (for those that just want to use it as a game), multiple user profiles on one device, more levels and themes. I would even like to be able to allow people to create their pack/levels if they want to. If there are any bugs i'd like to know to iron them out before I put this app on the Play Store.

Updated the app to include high scores right after a level. Also to bump this from the thread cemetery.
Bug: brain pack freezes up when showing all three puzzles
Hi!
I like the concept of your game but I've encountered a strange bug.
It happens once I get to all three puzzles being shown, and it seems to happen most often when the paradox "This sentence is false" is shown.
The game seizes up and I can't select anything any more, or exit for that matter.
A general usability feature would be to be able to cancel/exit the game once started. Having to kill the game is a bit annoying
The concept is quite interesting, can't wait to see how you develop it further!

Are you using the build from this thread or the new one on Google Play?
This app was started to solve a pretty basic problem I was having - wanting to know the time while riding my motorbike into work. The first version simply read out the time with Text-to-Speech after each song in a playlist.
It quickly became apparent that this idea of having things read out in between songs had a lot more potential than just that.
Imagine having your text messages, missed call info, new emails, weather updates automatically read out to you when you're out listening to music while riding/driving/running and not able to safely or easily check your phone. (Think JARVIS from Iron Man or a radio station where the broadcaster only talks about stuff relevant to you.)
That's the premise for this app. Currently it can read out:
New SMS messages (incl. sender's name or number and full message)
Missed call info (incl. caller's name or number)
Local weather conditions, including wind speed, temperatures, tomorrow's forecast
Current time
Device battery level
Another thing - if you're wanting to just hit the road, it's a pain having a set up a playlist or configure your music player. To address this, there is no setup necessary - to use it you can literally just open it and hit the Play button. By default it'll shuffle all the music on your phone and give you notifications from time to time or when new messages come in.
Other features
4x3 home screen widget
Lock screen player controls
Hardware media button support (e.g. headphone, bluetooth controls)
Automatic pause on low battery (to conserve power for your phone when on long rides)
Edit your play queue with gestures - swipe to remove songs, drag to rearrange
It's still early in development, so give it a go and let me know what you think via the "Send Feedback" option in the app or in this forum thread. I'm interested to hear feedback - the more nit-picky the better.
It's completely free (as in beer. No ads either) for the foreseeable future. I want to get more feedback from users before beginning to think about charging for it.
I'm also considering open-sourcing it, or at least making an open interface for 3rd party apps to implement their own types of announcements (like Roman Nurik's DashClock widget). This would really depend on interest from developers though. If you're a developer and think you may be interested in extending the app, please let me know.
WARNING/DISCLAIMER: if you do not already listen to music over headphones while riding, you are NOT encouraged to start doing so with this app. Obviously there may be extra risk involved. You are responsible for your own safety and if you choose to do so it's probably best to keep the volume low.

Hi @johnyf, I'm using 1.4.3 version of the app and have some problems.
First, as I can see, when apps are blocked (there is no running process), they still show up in recent window? Is this normal? if it's not, how can I get rid of it?
Second, there are some apps (xda, twitter and onefootball in my case), they're not blocked when first time launch. After minimize and open again, they're blocked as normal.
Thirdly, for some apps, the blocked announcement window show up "twice" for some apps instead of "once" normally.
I'm using android 7.1 and enabled both notification access and accessibility in settings so I really don't know what is happening here.
Hope you could help!
Thanks.
