[Q] How to update OS on rooted phone

I want to know how to update my OS on my s2 LTE. I got my phone rooted in the first place to get ICS on it but its been glitching recently and a lot of apps crash or dont work. My messaging also crashes. I need help I dont know much about this all this, i wanna keep all my contacts, texts, apps, pictures, videos, everything if possible. All help is appreciated!

You need to read the stickies. You'll need to learn how to use Odin and flash a recovery. Don't keep posting New threads.

Make sure to read everything thoroughly! You have to be sure on what you are doing otherwise you will end up with a paperweight. The stickies are a great place to gather the knowledge and there are a multitude of detailed guides out there to help you along the way. If you have questions after already doing your "homework" then everyone will be more than happy to help you out.
To answer some of your questions, your contacts should be linked to your Google account and thus will come back as soon as you sign in. The apps can be backed up on titanium backup. Pics/vids/etc can be moved to external SD card. You can use my backup root from play store (free) to store text messages.

Working photosphere camera on aosp d2vzw?

Was there ever a fix for photosphere cameras freezing when taking pictures without focising first? Seems to be the same with the new nexus experience camera apk as well.

I use the new stock camera pulled from the google edition phone
It works on Carbon for me.

Did you flash the zip or manually install it? As a system app? When you open the camera and take a few pictures if you dont tap to focus it still works?

I had to disable stock camera, renamed it to bak and then manually installed it. Just tested taking about ten pictures without tapping to focus and had no issues. Photosphere even works

Have you tried the new camera, think it's from 4.3 Google rom that the gs4 will be getting

Just tried this method same issue, tried a few different sources for the apk as well. Can you link me the one you used? I'm on the ladies carbon nightly as well really weird how others can get this working.

Auto Rotation not working

Hi.
Thanks allot experts to provide us a plateform to ask the questions.
I have CM 12 (Android Lollipop) on my LG G2 D800. Every thing is working fine. Just Auto Rotation is not working.
I have flashed D800_KKMODEM_AOSP.zip

You have flashed the CM12 nightlies. There was no fix so it got annoying besides other issues with CM12 that made me revert to LG stock firmware.

So only solution is to revert back to Stock..

Sorry to say i didnt find any other solution but to revert back to Stock then do a FOTA update to Lollipop and found it better than any other custom ROM. You should try Stock LG G2 Lollipop and wont regret it.

I installed the latest cm12 and the auto rotation is working fine

You're gonna want to flash the LGD800_10D_RADIO. zip and that should fix it. I had the exact same problem.

Could you please upload to Android File Host or Mediafire because Usercloud s*cks... Even with uBlock which allows Google Analytics tracking I get pop-up ads on it ...

You again... Could you, please, check "your work" before posting it? It's easy to just grab apps from various roms and post them here, anyone could do it, and if it were the case, the forum would be flooded with such topics.
That said, they have not been ported and they are not "for all devices"

Trebuchet not working on both galaxy j5 and grand prime..means not working on phones running touchwiz

You should clarify that this is NOT "for all devices." The apps you posted needs a minimum API of 21. It means only for lollipop and above.

Not necessarily, even with higher API, it may not work. I have 2 devices running marshmallow (LG and Samsung) and didn't work.

@megh1982 , I think its neither. Its an independent project I guess. Just like Cyanogenmod is written from scratch, even slim is like that... Entirely from scratch.

This is now my Daily Driver even alpha it's pretty slick. Chriszuma kernel works.
