This app uses VpnService provided by Android OS(4.0 ICS).
Captured data are saved as a PCAP file format in the external storage.
If you need detailed analysis, please transfer the files to your PC and use the software handles PCAP format(such as Wireshark).

Hi.
tPacketCapture uses VpnService provided by ICS.
So this app requires Android OS 4.0+ and GingerBread is not supported.

hi tao, thanks for the great app. works good on the sgs2, although it sometimes disappears from the status bar. so i have no way of turning it off. might wanna take a look into that.
i note from the pcap that the phone keeps calling into google's servers in canada. do you have any idea what app is causing it? also, there seems to be quite a bit of data transfer to some servers in china. perhaps you could help me decode what is going on with more detail?

I will try to fix status bar issue, so please teach me below.
1. Do you use a custom rom?
2. How often it happen what notification icon disappears from the status bar?
tPacketCapture can't identifies that what apps transfer to servers.
So please try capturing with minimal apps that you think bad.
I will try research how to identifies what apps transfer to each servers.

I am running on a SB104SH phone running ICS 4.0.3. So far your app is quite impressive. I do have one question though - I have been unable to ping a server while tPacketCapture is running. Is this expected?

Yes, this is expected.
tPacketCapture receives ping(ICMP) data from other apps, but can not send it.
To send ICMP packets, tPacketCapture needs to use raw socket, but it needs root permission.
So tPacketCapture discards packets except TCP/UDP.

Ok, I think I understand.
Do you mean if I root my device then ICMP packets will be forwarded and ping will work? If not, is there any way to configure this to capture all packets with root?

Hi, thanks for reply.
tPacketCapture does not use a raw socket.
So if you will use a tPacketCpature on root device, it can't forward ICMP packets and ping won't work.
Sorry..
If you want to capture all packets on root device, I think it is better that to use a raw socket in your app.

The app looks pretty nice and I've been looking for a way to use my phone to control my computer but I haven't been able to get any other app working for me. Thanks for sharing your work either way. I'm surprised no one else has tired this out since it's free.

The link isn't chinese. You've probably just got some sort of weird redirection. Try it again. It worked fine for everyone else...

Are you connected to the same WiFi network? Did you type in the same IP address as your computer says? Have you tried it via a VPN?

The app works like a charm. Bit laggy on the PC side, but that's probably just me (Pentium IV 1x2.8GHz)
Oh, and you should get rid of those pop-up ads. They can be a bit annoying. The ones on the mobile side would do you just right

OK! just tell me how to connect your mobile to PC? I installed the app in the mobile, when open it, it has the space to enter the ip address, I entered the ip address of my wifi host (connectify's local ip address). It says connection failed.
I think I need to install the server in my PC like gmote, so I went to mnect.com and its all in chinese..

After making the Anti Spy Mobile, I had some questions from users how to track the actual connections from Spyware apps, or comments like "Anti Spy Mobile says my phone is clean, but my device is still tracked". Then I decided to make Network Connections - an app that monitors, captures and logs all connections from an Android device in order to show where the "data goes". Playing with it, I found some interesting "unexpected" connections:
For example - the ES File Explorer (one of the best file managers for me) is connecting to IP in Beijing, China on the HTTP port 80 ... ?
There are no ads in their app, probably they are using some kind of tracking, but why in China? Most of the apps are using Flurry, Google Analytics, etc. With a saucy list of permissions granted to the app it's scary ..
So, I was thinking that probably a place on the web that explains the network connections of the apps (at least the popular ones) will be a good source of security for those that want to know. What do you think ?

However, this IP hosts many other China web-sites, so I'm still not sure what exactly they are using this connection for: http://sameid.net/ip/202.108.23.200/

Hi,
Connection grouping is more or less made in the APP Log tab - cumulative per app or by clicking on the Chrome app in APP Details screen, where you see all IPs used by the specific app.
Filter is good - I have to think how to make it from UI side of view, as I don't want to use menu buttons etc. in user navigation.

Hi, Your question is OK, as the app still don't have a doc-related material. The Current connections tab shows in live time all connections made by your device.
The Connections Log tab shows only accumulated data for the captured connections - e.g. you may start and stop the live capture over time.
Unfortunately the D/L U/L rate is not available per IP, as the app is not using netfilter/iptables logs.

I have 2 others 3rd party file manager and all of them is using full network access. I think it is because they using bluetooth or wifi direct when we share files. Correct me if im wrong

That, and ads need network access as well.

Make a paid version then. Im tired of every app requesting full network access. Its completely unnecessary. At what point did we as a community accept this as the norm?
I would rather you release a free version with less functionality then a free version with ads that requires full internet access. If the app turns out to be usefull then charge a buck or two and people will gladly pay, myself included.

It is simple, as much you want to believe people can make money on android without ads, you are mistaken. Regardless of how well the app is, people are still not going to pay for it. If you find my app doing something it shouldn't, then report it. Thank you for at least looking at the app. I am sorry that it just for you. Is there anything else I could do to appease without removing the ads? There are only two ways to make money on android, people paying for them, and people using ads. Sadly, more money is still made on ads and not enough is made in paid versions. My app doesn't use the internet unless its the free version for ads. I can't thank you enough for the response. v1.0.4 updated to fix loading up Settings on KITKAT

Latest Fearch update as been posted to OP. Get it before its even on google play. Fixed a samsung storage issue, added a new feature for pro users to exclude folders, and I removed ads. That is right no more ads!

thanks for a very useful app. Note that it does not show on the play store, even when I search the store for 'fearch'. There is another app called fearch that appears to be something completely different.
in any case, I was able to download the apk and install it. but the link to the pro version launches the play store with an 'item not found' message.

What it is:
ApowerMirror is a powerful program performs well in mirroring phone screen on the desktop and controlling Android screen from PC. With this tool, users will win excellent experience on a larger screen instead of phone's limited size.

What it can achieve:
1. Display your phone screen on PC
Mirror the movies on the desktop. (Display quality can be adjustable.)
Display mobile games on the computer.
Present documents on the PC in a meeting or class.
2. Control Android screen from PC
Play the mobile games with mouse
Type SMS and WhatsApp messages with keyboard and mouse
Check the new messages or notifications instantly without logging in on the website.
3. Record phone screen. (Video quality and format can be reset.)
After recording screen such as online lessons, users can save to local folder and share it to Facebook, YouTube or Twitter directly.

How to use it:
Download the app on PC and run the software.

Via USB cable:
a. Connect the phone to PC via USB cable to finish the installation on phone.
b. Hit "Don't show again" and tap "START NOW" on phone.
Via WiFi:
Tap "WiFi Connection" and hit "MIRROR". Then choose the PC name with "Apowersoft" inside.

Our application fails to support audio streaming via USB connection for the moment.
But you can make it via WiFi. You need to find out whether your phone supports Chromecast. If not, you can install Google Home on your phone. Activate our app first and run the process in the background. Launch the Google Home and you will hear the sound.

I installed last night. And I am excited about this app. This tool makes it easy to display my phone on PC. Haha, I enjoy using mouse to play games. cool!

hi, sorry to tell you that this tool can't support KitKat. You'd better use the Android device running Android 5.0 or above.

It really depends on the speed of the network. So it might happen sometimes. But we will work on it. You'd better use USB connection if you don't want to be interrupted.

It's nice. I use it to display some documents on PC. It really saves me a lot of time. wait for the fullscreen mode.

it's a really nice app. I almost use this tool every day. There are no ads at all! Great. Just a little confusing about the keyboard modes. wait for the answer.

hi, thanks for your question. yep, we provide various keyboard patterns. You can choose the ApowerMirror Keyboard to enable computer's keyboard or select the phone keyboard. If you enable the phone's, you are supposed to use the mouse.

Hello.
I can't connect my phone to PC. Both USB and WIFI does not work.
USB debugging is enabled, PC app is trying to connect to phone and goes to 11% and fails. I have galaxy s6 edge+ on android 6.0.
Any ideas?
P.S. when I choose cancel I see name of my phone and can click to connect but it also fails.
