Maybe, just maybe Verizon is starting to get that slow updates suck. Maybe. Did I say maybe?
I can't wait for this, will run stock rooted & check out the battery see if its amazing. Might also convert to ART to help out battery.

Seems a little more than just a camera update. Verizon has done a good job at locking down Motorola devices running 4.4.4, just saying I wouldn't take the OTA without already being s-off if you ever want to root again, I guess time will tell...
Also it improves the sound. the OTA changes firmware of audio components to newer than on Harman/Kardon version. It's first audio update I think for the "normal" version of One M8.
And fixes the cracking that can be heard at high volume with some headphones.

Please send pics of the new themes.
Edit: Nevermind. I just updated my phone. Looks like the 5 new themes are for the dot matrix case. I thought the new themes were for Sense. The 4 themes they have are nice, but more customization would be appreciated.

Yes, that is one thing I saw that was missing. However if this solves the stability issue then GB might be an easy push for them to get out. Or, they forgot to tack it onto the flyer

seriously? the GPS on the tbolt is a complete fail and it's a software issue. Using a third party GPS app to "fix" it that worked the first few times and now it locks in minutes (or till i just give up) rather than a couple seconds.
Sorry. I guess i was just spoiled being on the Dinc that locked instantly every single time.
But since you question it, i am jealous yours works.

Later then on At&t....lol... But I hope very soon..
I'm hoping within a day or two, but you never know with the Canadian carriers. I'm pretty sure we got 4.3 first though, so I'd imagine that it's ready to go.
hope the update will come soon, at&t has already the update....:highfive:it still indicated soon on roger site. hope it will come in the next two weeks:fingers-crossed:. What I like in kitkat above all is the mail, gmail like, and google now is integrated to the launcher. will see how samsung put it in their touchwiz.
Hope it comes to Fido soon. I'm thinking that if it comes to Rogers, then it should be ready for Fido also.
Even though I'm not using any SIM in it yet lol, wonder how that goes. I tried with Keys3 and it tells me I have the latest version (4.3).
I'm mostly excited for the snappier speed! It is sluggish in some parts in 4.3 and touchwiz really makes it slower than it's supposed to be!
Waiting on Telus
Then I'll be cookin'!
Edit: No S4 - 4.4.2 on the

One of the reasons I left HTC for Samsung is faster updates
(I know there are Nexus for that, but Im not really interested in stock Android, except for the Nexus 7)
And now they are making us wait ?
3-4 weeks after ATT updates
Last time I chatted with Telus, the support team mentioned they generally release updates 3-4 weeks after AT&T. So looks like it will be end of March

Hi guys, did you notice that HTC has choosen a new way to offer some of their HTC apps for everyone?
Actually with their launch of M8 they put HTC BlinkFeed, HTC Sense TV, Zoe and more into Google Play. Also a "Service Pack" can be found.
They will be downloadable for everyone, but they aren't at the moment.
HTC want to get an easier way to update apps without updating the whole rom. Same way like Google or Motorola did before!
Isn't it what some people wanted here? Happy with Android 4.2.2 but wanted the latest Blinkfeed?
Let's discuss here (but please without flaming about update states, only the apps on Google Play).
I've seen these few days ago and you know what? I don't care if we will get this 4.4 or not - we will have THIS! Fudge the updates - 4.2.2 Sense 5 with Sense 6 features - THAT'S THE WAY, I LOVE YOU HTC! <3 Hahahaha.
Yep I noticed too. But I really don't like that. Not because I don't want to have the newest blinkfeed but because HTC should be the only phone who have them and they shouldn't release almost all important apps for any phone. Then all phones can have HTC's look and breaks the originality of HTC itself.
That's my point of view, hope I expressed well what o wanted to say

To be honest - you're right guys. If they'll do that, they'll kill themselves as company, because everyone will have it no matter what phone they have. And there will be no point to buy HTC, whenever you can have HTC goods on any Android phone.
You can see it in two ways:
either the one you described, or people think "Wow, well done app. Maybe the whole phone is like this and i'll try the next time a device from this company".
I'm also excited about what service pack brings.
Guys, let's face it, people don't buy HTC phones for their software only. They buy them for their quality, too. And ever since HTC has moved to aluminium alloy phones, it has almost no competition regarding build quality in the Android market today. My guess is that are putting those apps on GPlay and making them free for all because of two reasons: they want to get faster updates on their customers' phones and they want to introduce potential customers to the well polished look of Sense UI. It won't harm the company at all. If anything, it will increase sales and make customers happy.
I wonder, though, if they will care for our One SV too with that Service Pack. Any info on that, on what it does and what it's supposed to update?
Edit - WOOOOOOO, BlinkFeed updates! I will finally be able to add my own feeds to it!

Ok, i got it
This is an intresting thing that HTC is doing..Although I can't install any of the apps on my real HTC devices. The only option for the Service Pack app is the LG Optimus V. Not amused by this at all :|
So what happens when you install the Service Pack on the V? Does it do anything or is it just presenting you with a "Coming Soon" screen when launched, like Zoe does?
Sent from my HTC One SV using Tapatalk
I was able to install the service pack on my Asus Tf 101 and extract the apk. Then installed it at my One SV, but it does not even show up in appdrawer. So i can not use it.
Weird as hay. I've seen from the comments that somebody with an Explorer has been able to install it, also somebody with an HTC One S. We'll just have to wait.

It appears the apk is listed as not being compatible for our device as of right now. Has anyone attempted to modify the apk so it doesn't think that anymore. Been running the latest update since this morning.
How funny. I was in Best Buy on Saturday and visited the Samsung Kiosk. I had issues with my multi-window randomly popping up without pressing it. Anyways, I took it in and got them to reflash the device. Didn't notice till now but I got the update on that day, which solved my problems that I have been having since I got the device.
Can't wait until VZW pushes this out 6 months from now.

So you don't want to update to a better performing phone, in hopes of rooting to get a better performing phone minus features. You may miss out and continue waiting until the s8. Just saying you should just try enjoying the phone.

I can confirm after almost a full 2nd day of use that this update does wonders for standby. My phone came off charger this morning at 8 AM, its not 4 PM and I am at 87% battery remaining. Actually i retract my statement. For whatever reason the first couple of pictures i took didn't work well perhaps the conditions weren't right. I just took some that worked AWESOME though.

Well, had my S9+ for about a week and am not impressed by this phone at all beside it being an Android. For me, Android auto has been a nightmare. Updating to the latest patch and hopefully it fixes some things with Samsung. I use my XS Max more than my S9+ which is a shame, but more reliable in a Carplay sense. Hopefully there are more fixes than just a camera update. Looking forward to this update

The night mode in the camera seems to work pretty well. No complaints here. It took a pretty nice dark picture and brightened it up nicely. Nice update so far. Looking forward to what else is new
Is that the update they dubbed "System Update 14"? I clicked learn more and they only have info for up to 13's.
I just randomly checked about a half hour ago and boom there it was.. But I can't find ANY info ANYWHERE about it. Also on VZW S9+

Yeah I tried searching during the download and couldn't find anything. Night mode is nice and it's now bootloader 6. That's the only things I found so far

G965USQU6CSGF. Bootloader 6. Night mode was referred to in camera
I've got an factory unlocked SM-G965U1 which I currently use on T-Mobile. If I find a buddy on Verizon and pop in his SIM, might that mean that I'd get offered the Verizon version of the update, which would include night mode?
I know that method works for getting monthly security updates.
Or is this special feature update ONLY for people on the Verizon-modified rom?

To answer my own question in case anyone else comes across this in a search, I borrowed a friend's Verizon SIM card, popped it into my Snapdragon/factory-unlocked S9+, and was offered 3 consecutive updates to jump me from a patch level of January 1 (where I started yesterday), then to May/June, then to July 1, then finally to Aug 1 - which is pretty awesome, because the Aug patch was literally just released yesterday.
So, I'm definitely blaming T-Mo for this, because with this Verizon sim, I literally got a day-old Samsung-released update.
However, I didn't get Night Mode. Just the security updates (and the new charging animation). Oh well.

AT&T finally included night mode with the latest update earlier this month and I really didn't notice much to write home about either...
Until I took this picture last night using night mode (it was pretty dark outside like 10 minutes before the sun set)
