More than likely, you need to have the TWRP Big Part Recovery in the "Download" folder on your internal sdcard. Let me know what your results are.

Motorola Zoom 2
Hi,
Will 4.4.4 OmmiRom - Everest works in Zoom 2 3G
Thks.
black video on web
I recently installed the omni_everest 4.4.4-20141130-1724+0100-everestHOMEMADE on my Xoom 3G with kernel 2.6.39.4-ElementalX-Xoom-2.0+. On all the videos on the Internet (youtube, vimeo etc) can hear the sound but no video and black screen , only the bar with the running time of the video. If i play a video directly from my device localy through BS Player or MX it's working fine.
Any ideas?
Thank you so much
Thanks for doing somenthing so lovingly that could revive my Xoom 3g, however, 3g doesn't work but wifi does.
Thank you so much Schischu..
Dear developers!!
I thank you so much as a person who uses xoom. The new tablets are so expensive so I still have to use xoom. And now due to you my xoom is updated. You're just great! And you're so important for us! Whole companies are shameful because of your efforts!
Newbie question about how to install this rom
Hi all, first of all thanks for your patience
I tried to follow the steps, I put all the files into an SD card and after boot the xoom and get into the recovery mode I got the "android with the red triangle"... so I understand that I can't go forward with all the steps... so, as a I'm a very, very, very newbie in these, this is the question: "My xoom has to be rooted first?"
by the way, I tried to root it and the adb didn't recognize the tablet (maybe drivers, maybe cable, maybe... maybe... )
Anyway, Thanks a lot in advance...
mic not working
Help please - everything working fine - love Everest - except mic not working except for skype and phone. I use dictation for word docs so need this to work again please.

Hello Guys!
Today is my second day with this wonderful device. It´s really awesome, I played with her all day and started trying new things.
I rooted my Xoom, installed new Apps and I wanted to install a new theme, which I found here.
The description said that I have to copy the files on a micoSDCard, which I dont have. No Problem! SSHDroid -> Win.
Well..at least..that´s what I though. I couldnt acess the systemfolder.
I copied all the files in the SSHDroidfolder and transfered them with RootManager to the right folders - copy and paste.
After I pasted one app in the system/appFolder the Xoom freezed with an errormessage and the bar with the three buttons disappered on the next boot.
Than I tried the factoryreset, but I´ve got the same problem.
What should I do?
Reflash the device with the system.img and boot.img with fastboot. With that said it will take you a bit to find the correct system.img and boot.img for your device. Then you will have to learn to use fastboot. To me if your going to play these are the necessary tools you need to learn to use. BTW you might not need the boot.img but it can't hurt.
---------- Post added at 02:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:07 PM ----------
or if you don't want stock you can flash CWM recovery (using fastboot) and then wipe the device and flash a ROM from the Development section.
It´s working now (with Android 3.01) - thank you very much!
DominusD.
Now I try to figure out how to install tiamat without a SDCard..
if you do not have a sdcard yet, install rogue recovery, then you can backup, install... from the internal ssd
Hello everybody.
I've scoured these forums for a few days now, in hope that I can resolve this very frustrating problem but, alas, I've failed in my mission and have had to resort to picking your brains. (sorry about that!)
I'm running Cyanogen mod 7 on my T-Mobile G2 GSM and so far the ROM has worked brilliantly. The only reason I'd like to change is because of the poor GPS. I've tried a patch and the command fix but both of them didn't work for me.
Anyway... When I boot into Clockwork mod recovery (and wipe all the necessary files) and try to load my new ROM, I'm presented with an error message similar to this:
------------------------------------
finding update package...
opening update package...
E:error in / [ROM NAME & LOCATION]
Install Aborted
------------------------------------
I've tried downloading the rom several times via different websites, tried different ROMs all together, followed every bit of advice I could muster on here, and even purchased a new memory card... Just in case.
It's really frustrating though because I have to use recovery to get Cyanogen back (I need it to tether or I have no internet at home!) and that takes so long each time.
As you can probably imagine, it's really frustrating .
Any help would be massively appreciated!
Thanks again,
Bacoon.

on sdcard /mnt/sdcard/clockworkmod folder there is a log take a look at it
I think you have to flash a corresponding CWM by fastboot utility
Thank you for getting back to me!
There are 2 that I can see. Should i go for Recovery.log or Report.log?
It's also giving me lots of options to view it... Should I use html viewer? It seems like the only thing that'd work.
Cheers!
EDIT:
I used the HTML viewer on "Report.log" and it came up with a HUUUGE list. Anything in particular I should be looking for, mate?

report.log is generated from cwm recovery menu to report them errors
It says open ROM Manager to repport the issue
recovery.log in a general log to describe CWM activity
I think easy way is to change to a CWM that will allow you to flash that ROM
(I can't tell you exactly because I don't have links)
Code:
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
to see/edit files use notepad or better Notepad++ that's a decent editor/viewer best Notepad replacement
I don't know give me a link to that log or better think to change CWM recovery...

Amlogic Next8P12 (NXM805MC) Modified Recovery - Stock Rom - Root & Gapps
These files are for the Amlogic Nextbook Next8P12 (NXM805MC) also referred to as the "Black Friday @ Big Lots" model.
This is my first release. Here is what you get:
Modified Stock 3e Recovery:
This is the stock recovery, dumped from the device, unpacked, modified to use Google Test Keys instead of Private Nextbook Keys and then repackaged for your enjoyment.
Unzip and place the uImage_recovery file on your external SD Card. Reboot to recovery by holding Volume and Power. You won't notice any visual changes, but you can attempt to flash any .zip signed with Google Test Keys.
Your mileage may vary. If something won't flash there is a compatibility problem between the updater-binary or updater-script and our kernel/recovery.
Stock Rom:
This is a close as I could get to a flashable stock rom.
This contains a stock bootloader.img, boot.img, logo.img, and aml_logo.img dumped from the device. The system partition was also dumped from the device. I believe all of the Nextbook bloatware is here, with nothing added and NO ROOT. Everything has been packaged into an update.zip and signed with Google Test Keys.
Place the update.zip on external SD Card and flash using the modified recovery above.
Stock Internal SD Card:
This is just a .zip containing the stock files from the SD Card. It includes the .pdf manuals, intro video, free public domain e-books, demo photos, etc... If you deleted this stuff and wanted it back, just unzip and copy the desired files to your internal SD Card.
Root Package:
This is a flashable .zip that installs the su binary and has been signed with Google Test Keys.
Put it on your external SD Card and flash it using the modified recovery above. Then install your preference of Superuser.apk or SuperSu.apk from the Google Play store or elsewhere.
Gapps Package:
This is a flashable Gapps package from Goo.im, with a modified updater-script and resigned with the Google Test Keys.
Put this on your external SD Card and flash with the modified recovery above.

Volume down would be the correct key. You should the android guy and a menu that you navigate with the volume keys and select options with the power key. Please note, that this modified recovery look EXACTLY like the stock recovery. The only difference is that it checks for google signatures instead of nextbook signatures, which allows us to create our own updates for this tablet.

To owners of Amlogic Next8P12 have you tried to use a VPN (eg: OpenVPN) on your device that uses the VpnService API?
My girlfriend has the Next8P12 tablet and I'd like to root it for her. I see this cancan only be done from an external SD card. My question is: does the NextP12 have a slot in/on it for an SD to be inserted? Or do I need to get some kind ofUSB dongle that houses an SD card?

Hi, I'm super new in all this about rooting. I have a Next8P12 that my wife got last year, we have not been using it because it doesn't come with the Google store app. Could you give help me out in how to do this, step by step?
I downloaded all the files and put them into a SD card. I can boot the tablet into recovery and all that. Now, which files should I use first? in the SD I have Modified Stock 3e Recovery, Stock Rom, Stock Internal SD Card, Root Package and Gapps Package. I have no idea about what to do next. I will so grateful if you could help me out with some more directions.
Thanks!!

Pull the file out of the recovery zip file and have it sit on the root of your SD card. Boot into recovery.
You can probably just flash the root package, then the gapps, then reboot. You can then add a Google account, if you haven't already done so, in order for the Play Store to work. First app to install might be a superuser app (SuperUser, SuperSU, etc...).

Unzip the modified stock 3e recovery and place the uImage_recovery on your external SD card.
DO NOT UNZIP the other files. Just place the other zip files on your external SD card.
Reboot to recovery. The tablet will automatically detect and load the modified uImage_recovery file from the SD card instead of the stock internal recovery.
OPTIONAL: For Root... flash the root package .zip file.
OPTIONAL: For Gapps... flash the Gapps .zip file.
OPTIONAL: To return to Stock... flash the ROM .zip file. (There's no need to do this unless your tablet won't boot or you've messed something up after rooting.

Well, the China tabs like the NextBook is probably not the best device to first start mucking with Android... manufacturers such as these fail to release source code making it difficult for aspiring developers, such as shaunmt, to tinker and guide users with hacking and flashing custom ROMs etc.
I happen to learn a bit by owning devices that had a solid community base on a forum such as XDA, and then took the risk with messing around on those devices.

Agreed. It's been a long slow process of research and experimentation with these tablets. A Nexus device would probably be the best supported device to really learn from.

I just put everything on the SD card, I formatted it first. I don't think it has a root directory, or maybe it does and I don't know it.
Can you explain the steps to me please so I can have a better chance to get it right?

By root I meant on the SD without being in any folders.
The contents of the recovery zip needs to be unpacked onto the SD, only then can you start flashing.

Problem flashing RC3
Hey guys. I've been using RC2 for the past few weeks and I love it a lot. However, the browser bug is getting on my nerves since Chrome and even Opera are huge and slow resource hogs compared to what I had back in stock. So, I've been desperately trying to flash RC3...and failing. This is what I've done:
1 - Modify RC3 zip to move 40int2ext into init.d (just as I've done with RC2)
2 - Flash the modified aw3som3 recovery linked
3 - Wipe everything except sdcard
4 - Mount everything
5 - Flash RC3
6 - Fail to boot, stuck on CM logo
If I don't do step 1 it seems I'm able to boot, however after rebooting and flashing Gapps I get stuck on a bootloop again (this time on the HTC logo). I swear I've been searching these forums for days but can't find an answer for this issue. Thanks for any help, love your work <3
Charging animation
Hello! Please help me.
How can add charging animation when the screen is off in CM11 RC3, such as stock?

What about battery drain in RC4? Is it fixed?
RC4 working fine. Alarm clock bug though.

Thanks! RC4 installed just fine.
I seem to have found a pretty annoying bug though (but don't have enough posts to report it in the main thread), the alarm clock is crazy. It's constantly crashing and even though I erased all the alarms it didn't reset some and they keep playing. Seemed to have solved it by force closing app + clearing cache.

Even though some people in the main thread report it's still draining pretty fast, I think it has improved a bit. Used phone extensively today (read some docs in dropbox for about 4 hours in the morning, screen on the whole time, and played some games in the afternoon) and got home with 20% battery.
Is anyone having battery leak? in 23h of device on i have the battery at 29% without using it att all, i don't even have a sim card in it and the "cell standby"(battery used by cell radio) consumed 91% of it.

TWRP Recovery aw3som3 is necessary in this ROM.
Don't work with any other.

Hey Fufi,
thanks for the reply buddy!
I've recently encountered a problem with TWRP
- it opens, and just blinks in the "teamwin" image
can I know a way for setting this right?
---------- Post added at 10:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:16 PM ----------
more info on my previous quote
I guess the problem started after I changed the caching method from dalvik to ART from the system settings (under performance?)
after it rebooted, ART didnt work, lots of force closes and I had to reflash the ROM
after flashing ROM, the OS didnt go into systemui ( it just kept crashing)
after 3 times of reflashing the ROM, TWRP started to show this type of behaviour..
now I've reflashed TWRP, but it still shows this behaviour, but CWM works fine, and I can use roms flashable in cwm
So can I know where the problem is, and how I could fix it?
My suspicion is ART was the culprit, but how do I change back from ART to dalvik( or did it change back to dalvik automatically after reflashing ROM?)
EDIT:
after some searches, I used zip files to swap back to dalvik, and then reflashed twrp, but to no avail... same result ..
@Rocky1822:
Try to make a wipe (or flash superwipe.zip) with other recovery, then flash TWRP aw3som3 Recovery and do another wipe.
If recovery work fine you can reflash RC4.
After reflash the default runtime is the dalvik.

I had wiped using cwm then put in twrp, still shows same behavoiur ( it blinks on the teamwin image)
update: twrp 2.8.0.0 works, the problem seems to happen only with v2.7.0.0
but, the rom works on v2.7.0.0 right?
update 2: I had figured out the problem, it was due to my sdcard, I removed it an then put it back on and remounted sdcard, and it works!
Error executing updater binary
I flashed the rom in twrp awesom3 v2.7.0.0, and encountered this error
symlink: some symlinks failed
E: Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/OS ROMS/cm-11-20141020-UNOFFICIAL-pico.zip'
I have attached the recovery.log file I made after getting this error

Xtreamer Wonder - Android media player
Rooting guide
DISCLAIMER
Everything you decide to do with your device is at your own risk.
I take no responsibility for any damage caused by any of your root-related activities.
Introduction
This guide will help you to gain root on your Xtreamer Wonder Android media player.
It has been tested and confirmed working on all firmwares currently available.
How it works
Rooting method takes advantage of amlogic system update facility that can be activated using
Reset button. Rooting package contains my special modified version of original recovery image that installs all the necessary root components during recovery boot.
Highlights
- easy to use
- low risk of bricking - possible to reset device whenever needed
- won't void warranty - unroot possible by simply resetting device
- won't wipe any system or user data
- won't replace original recovery
Requirements
USB stick/SD card formatted as fat32 (NTFS will not work).
In case procedure below fails try to use smaller USB stick/SD card up to 4GB.
Instructions
1) Download proper rooting ZIP package matching the version of Android system installed on your Wonder (Kitkat or Lollipop)
2) Extract ZIP package directly to the root of micro SD card/USB stick and insert micro SD card/USB stick back into Wonder.
3) Turn off Wonder and unplug power cable
4) Disconnect all other devices from USB ports (including airmouse receiver)
5) Use paper clip to push reset button located below Ethernet connector
6) Plug in power cable keeping reset button pressed until device boots into recovery; then release reset button
7) Recovery should show either "Wiping" or just a progress bar without text
DO NOT PANIC, NOTHING WILL ACTUALLY BE WIPED APART FROM CACHE
DO NOT INTERRUPT THE PROCESS.
Wait patiently for couple of minutes for the process to finish, Wonder will reboot automatically.
Next steps are necessary for older KitKat firmwares only. In Lollipop fw, SuperSU will be installed during rooting process automatically.
8) After reboot, use play store to install SuperSU by Chainfire
9) Open SuperSU and confirm to update su binary when asked (choosing Normal method)
In case rooting fails
Grab supersu.log from /data/local/tmp directory on Wonder filesystem and attach it within this thread.
In case your file manager app is unable to navigate to that directory, you can use terminal emulator app to cd to that
directory and use copy command to copy out the log to /sdcard where you can access it from file manager app.
Unrooting instructions
Flash original firmware following Xtreamer's standard firmware upgrade instructions.
This will wipe all user data!!!

Cool... many thanks for your work!

AFAIK, it's not currently possible as OpenELEC does not officially support AmLogic chips.
There are some ports for AmLogic here on XDA but not sure whether compatible with Wonder.
Btw, I have built custom clockworkmod recovery for Wonder so it would be possible to flash different system if people want to get adventurous It's currently experimental but I have successfully made a nandroid backup/restore test with it.

Yesterday xtreamer released a new firmware (see in the forums) and i could not resist to experiment a little bit, because i was now safe that i have something for recovery. So i took an Openelec build from Kerber (google for kerber openelec) for the 812 chipset and replaced the the wonder firmware and flashed the openeelec build. You simply need to exchange the zip file.
System is coming up and so far everything was working fine, network, moview, audio, however, and thats the reason why i have gone back to android, the air mouse control buttons are not properly mapped and after some time the system begins to stutter. But I assume this ws coming from pressing different buttons at once. I hope someone will do some reconfig for the airmouse.
Flashing back to the wonder firmware was not problem.
Thanks for your job. I've rooted my wonder but now Kodi doesn't work. How about?
I don't think root has anything to do with kodi working or not. My stock xbmc works just fine. What are the symptoms?
@c0ldsun
Thanks for sharing your experience. I was afraid of flashing openelec as the installation package also replaces bootloader which could brick device easily and prevent reset from working
The stock XBMC work fine but the new Kodi for HEVC video file doesn't open when i start it and stay on black screen

I had too many issues on Kodi 14 even before rooting. Lag, black screen which could be solved only with reboot. That's why I went back to stock XBMC.
Of course but stock XBMC doesn't read HEVC h265 file
Thx for the root image, works fine!
But I am unable to write to the external sd-card, I tried to fix the permissions.xml but it did not work.
("SDFix: KitKat Writable MicroSD" from Google Play Store can not solve the problem.)
Can you write to the external sd-card? Any idea for a fix?
I was thinking we can solve this kitkat limitation with root permission....
Thanks for your help!
Greeting,
Wille
Yeah, it's kind of weird. I couldn't make it work either. Seems like ext SD is mount read-only so permissions.xml fix is not enough. After doing some tests I found out I can only write to SD when I use terminal to issue:
Code:
mount -o remount,rw /storage/external_storage/sdcard1
The same issue I experience in my custom built clockworkmod recovery. I can't make backups to external SD. I believe there's something at kernel level driver that makes SD card mounting always read-only.
boot loop
Hi, where i cant get stock rom?
Any idea?
