Amlogic Next8P12 (NXM805MC) Modified Recovery - Stock Rom - Root & Gapps
These files are for the Amlogic Nextbook Next8P12 (NXM805MC) also referred to as the "Black Friday @ Big Lots" model.
This is my first release. Here is what you get:
Modified Stock 3e Recovery:
This is the stock recovery, dumped from the device, unpacked, modified to use Google Test Keys instead of Private Nextbook Keys and then repackaged for your enjoyment.
Unzip and place the uImage_recovery file on your external SD Card. Reboot to recovery by holding Volume and Power. You won't notice any visual changes, but you can attempt to flash any .zip signed with Google Test Keys.
Your mileage may vary. If something won't flash there is a compatibility problem between the updater-binary or updater-script and our kernel/recovery.
Stock Rom:
This is a close as I could get to a flashable stock rom.
This contains a stock bootloader.img, boot.img, logo.img, and aml_logo.img dumped from the device. The system partition was also dumped from the device. I believe all of the Nextbook bloatware is here, with nothing added and NO ROOT. Everything has been packaged into an update.zip and signed with Google Test Keys.
Place the update.zip on external SD Card and flash using the modified recovery above.
Stock Internal SD Card:
This is just a .zip containing the stock files from the SD Card. It includes the .pdf manuals, intro video, free public domain e-books, demo photos, etc... If you deleted this stuff and wanted it back, just unzip and copy the desired files to your internal SD Card.
Root Package:
This is a flashable .zip that installs the su binary and has been signed with Google Test Keys.
Put it on your external SD Card and flash it using the modified recovery above. Then install your preference of Superuser.apk or SuperSu.apk from the Google Play store or elsewhere.
Gapps Package:
This is a flashable Gapps package from Goo.im, with a modified updater-script and resigned with the Google Test Keys.
Put this on your external SD Card and flash with the modified recovery above.

Volume down would be the correct key. You should the android guy and a menu that you navigate with the volume keys and select options with the power key. Please note, that this modified recovery look EXACTLY like the stock recovery. The only difference is that it checks for google signatures instead of nextbook signatures, which allows us to create our own updates for this tablet.

To owners of Amlogic Next8P12 have you tried to use a VPN (eg: OpenVPN) on your device that uses the VpnService API?
My girlfriend has the Next8P12 tablet and I'd like to root it for her. I see this cancan only be done from an external SD card. My question is: does the NextP12 have a slot in/on it for an SD to be inserted? Or do I need to get some kind ofUSB dongle that houses an SD card?

PHM727MC (i dunno what that means )
Also tried update.zip by BOB. Some .img file too. When in stock recovery it keep showing segnature verification thingy.
Can anyone please tell me what to do next as i am hell bent on either flashing it to CM10.1 or BRICK IT !!!

Hi, I'm super new in all this about rooting. I have a Next8P12 that my wife got last year, we have not been using it because it doesn't come with the Google store app. Could you give help me out in how to do this, step by step?
I downloaded all the files and put them into a SD card. I can boot the tablet into recovery and all that. Now, which files should I use first? in the SD I have Modified Stock 3e Recovery, Stock Rom, Stock Internal SD Card, Root Package and Gapps Package. I have no idea about what to do next. I will so grateful if you could help me out with some more directions.
Thanks!!

Pull the file out of the recovery zip file and have it sit on the root of your SD card. Boot into recovery.
You can probably just flash the root package, then the gapps, then reboot. You can then add a Google account, if you haven't already done so, in order for the Play Store to work. First app to install might be a superuser app (SuperUser, SuperSU, etc...).

Unzip the modified stock 3e recovery and place the uImage_recovery on your external SD card.
DO NOT UNZIP the other files. Just place the other zip files on your external SD card.
Reboot to recovery. The tablet will automatically detect and load the modified uImage_recovery file from the SD card instead of the stock internal recovery.
OPTIONAL: For Root... flash the root package .zip file.
OPTIONAL: For Gapps... flash the Gapps .zip file.
OPTIONAL: To return to Stock... flash the ROM .zip file. (There's no need to do this unless your tablet won't boot or you've messed something up after rooting.

Well, the China tabs like the NextBook is probably not the best device to first start mucking with Android... manufacturers such as these fail to release source code making it difficult for aspiring developers, such as shaunmt, to tinker and guide users with hacking and flashing custom ROMs etc.
I happen to learn a bit by owning devices that had a solid community base on a forum such as XDA, and then took the risk with messing around on those devices.

Agreed. It's been a long slow process of research and experimentation with these tablets. A Nexus device would probably be the best supported device to really learn from.

I just put everything on the SD card, I formatted it first. I don't think it has a root directory, or maybe it does and I don't know it.
Can you explain the steps to me please so I can have a better chance to get it right?
Thanks,
Chuck

By root I meant on the SD without being in any folders.
The contents of the recovery zip needs to be unpacked onto the SD, only then can you start flashing.

I flashed the leaked froyo firmware I897UCJI6 on my samsung captivate using odin 1-click method. I have a working 2.2 now. My phone is not rooted. I am planning to flash a custom ROM and try other custom ROMs out there in the market. I've gone through a three part video series by mobiletechvideos on how to root and flash a custom ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884364). But, i still have a few questions.
1. For rooting, do i need to flash the phone back to the stock JF6?
2. In the xda link given above, i am fine until step #4. Step #5 is a little bit confusing to me. After i copy the root file to the root directory in the internal sd card on my phone, i rename it to update.zip. Also, i copy the clockworkrecovery to the root directory in the internal sd card in the phone and rename it to update.zip. Now, after i am doing with rooting and clockworkrecovery, i have to proceed further to flash the custom ROM. Now, the steps mentioned in the xda forum does not say anything about moving the custom ROM file to the root directory in the internal sd card on the phone. My question is: Do i need to copy the custom ROM zip file into the root directory of the phone? Do i need to rename the custome ROM file to update.zip as well?
Someone please help.
Yes rom goes on sd, no do not rename
If you are on ji6 you will not be able to install clockwork because of 3e recovery. Two option, flash back to stock using
http://www.fileserve.com/file/emnCn2j
One click odin, provided you are at&t and build number is 1009 and lower located under battery
2 look for modded 3e recovery in. development for captivate posted by exist

Thanks for the reply. What is 3e recovery by the way? I am able to flash back to stock (jf6) using odin 1-click by following the volume up + down method to download. My build number is not in that 1000 series. Are you referring to s/n number found under the battery? In many threads I have seen ppl saying if u r under 1009 build # then you need to use 3 key combo method. You are saying the opposite. I am confused now. Sorry sir but I think I need.more explanation. I thank you for your time

Are you on at&t
If you can get into dl mode issuing volume and usb then you have three button combo. Later builds can not use jf6 stock 1010 and up. Your build had to be there, and I do not think it its possible it is not in the 1000s if you have a captivate

Pls clarify if s/n # found under battery is actually the build number. Also, according to many posts in this forum, three buttom combo is
1. Vol up

2. Vol down
+
3. Press Power button
Since when USB slot became a button? I am sorry but I dont understand.

WOW! I clicked on the xda link from my phone and the update.zip got downloaded into the download folder in my internal sd (i deleted it). I see the point now. I need to root only to back up all apps and system data such as contacts, sms, media etc. Otherwise, no need to root. Please conform the steps one last time if you don't mind:
1. Copy the update.zip into the root directory of my phone (how to get to the root directory, by the way! Sorry it is a dumb question). Also, copy the custom ROM zip file to the same root directory.
2. Using 3 button combo, follow the remaining steps.
Now, after I successfully flash the custom ROM, can I use the android market and install all the apps I use.

When you open my files app you are looking at the root of your sd. You will see your download folder, go to it long press either file select move phone will direct you to root if sd, select paste.
You are correct you need root to run programs like titanium backup to backup your apps, but when you flash stock they will all be gone either way. So unless you are rooted now you can not back up your apps. You can dl them again do not restore any system data just user apps. Backup contacts by exporting to ext sd, or sim
I am checking out so I won't be responding again for the night. Good luck
The simplest way there is to root/ flash a rom is to use a one click root program.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=739304
If you use this, it roots your phone for you. After you root with the program in the link above( there are videos on how to use the program if you get confused ) Download Rom Manager from the market. open up rom manager and select flash clockwork mod recovery. After that in the program rom manager click reboot into recovery( easier than holding volume buttons) the stock recovery will pop up when the phone reboots. Click reinstall packages. It will bring you back to the stock recovery, click reinstall packages for a second time and you will have cwm (clock work mod ) recovery. In clockwork mod recovery there is an option to back up your phone. do this before you flash a rom. after you back up turn your phone on. Make sure it is in usb debugging. connect to your computer and on your phone select mount sd. drag the downloaded rom .zip file into the sd. the root of you phone is just what ever drive your phone shows up as. unplug your phone reboot into recovery and in cwm recovery there is an option to factory wipe, do this and after it is done, click the option install zip. then choose zip from sd. highlight the rom . zip file you are flashing and select it. it will take a minute or too and when it is done just reboot the phone. First boot will take a while but once it boots your all set. any questions you can pm me and good luck.
^ That's a way. .... OR you could use my program to do it all (Flash to stock, root, install custom ROM, etc.). Link is in my signature.

What should I choose first from the toolbox? If I choose, flash to stock then do I need to select thw JF6 firmware file from somewhere or the tool itself will do the job? Sameway, if I click root, then do I need to select a root / clockwork files to finish rooting or again the tool itself will do the job? I understand for flashing the custom ROM I need to choose the the ROM .zip file. I watched the video about your program on mobiletechvideos on youtube. I think I need to watch it again or if you don't mind then can you give me the steps to use your toolbox (given what firmware I have currently running). Thank you

Why ji6? What are the benefits other than the audience chip will work?
STOCK GB ALL THE WAY TO JB CUSTOM ROM
If you run Gingerbread, start from A directly
If you run un-rooted Jellybean, start from B
If you run rooted Jellybean with a custom kernel, start from C.
If you run rooted Jelly Bean without a custom kernel, start from B, but skip number 1 and 6.
You might want to read this before starting, it is optional though, but will give you a better idea of what you're doing.
GUIDE
This guide shall guide you through turning your suckish GB i9070 (not i9070p) to Custom ROM JB Awesomeness.
Unless your phone shipped from Russia, it probably has Gingerbread preinstalled... so, let's first Jellybeanize it.
A) JELLYBEANIZATION:
Download Odin3 from here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...1&d=1341114315. Extract it into a folder.
Download Stock JB firmware from here. http://hotfile.com/dl/222710569/1f2...m-GT-I9070-TSR-I9070XXLQE-1365486223.zip.html . Extract it into a separate folder, you will get a .tar.md5 file.
Make sure you have Kies installed, but not running.
Turn your phone off, and boot into Download mode, this can be done by holding the Vol.Down+Home+Power buttons together at the same time, till it boots.
Press Volume up to continue. Plug in your phone (make sure it's at least 60% charged) . Wait till Odin recognizes (It should say something like COMORT... to the left).
Click on PDA and choose the firmware (.tar.md5) that you extracted in step 2. Click start.
Right now, a virus which will fry your phone's internals is being installed... Calm down, joke.
When your phone boots into JB, and Odin says "PASS". Unplug.
NOTE: There is a chance that you will get a bootloop ( i.e. Android won't boot ). No, no, no... your phone isn't broken! Simply reboot to stock recovery by powering off, then pressing Vol.Up+Home+Power buttons together and wipe data/factory reset. It'll boot nicely
Now, you are currently on a stock Samsung Jellybean firmware, which is not rooted. This basically means that you do not have access to modifying the system files in your ROM, which means that you cannot install any custom kernel, custom recovery or a custom ROM... In section B, you will learn how to gain root access, install a custom kernel with a custom recovery.
B) ROOTING, KERNEL & TWRP/CWM:
Download Shaan's root from here http://d-h.st/ook
Download Temporary cwm from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1987313
Download CoCore + TWRP (TWRP is one of the two recoveries available, we will use it in this guide because it looks less intimidating, and it's touch-enabled ) from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...8&d=1363518705
Place all 3(or 2 if you're rooted) zip files in your external SD card
Power off. Boot into recovery by holding Vol.Up+Home+Power.
By navigating via volume buttons, choose install zip from external sd card, and install root.zip... shouldn't take long.
In the same way install update.zip. Now in a few seconds, you will get a different screen, this is Clockworkmod recovery, albeit a temporary one..
In this recovery, go to install zip, then install zip from external sd, and choose CoCore+TWRP. After installation, keep going back until the main cwm screen, and hit reboot.
NOW, Everytime you boot into recovery (which is the way to backing up and installing custom ROMs) you will get TWRP.
Now, you are rooted, with a custom kernel, and TWRP ( a custom recovery). You can either stay on stock Samsung firmware, or continue through section C, and get yourself a custom ROM.
C) INSTALLING A CUSTOM ROM:
Download any custom ROM (Recommendations at the end of the thread) zip and place it in the root of your external (or internal, but i prefer ext.) sd.
Boot into recovery.
Navigate by touch, press backup, and slide as instructed to make a backup.
Go back to the main screen and choose install. If the zip has been placed in ext. sd. then press on external sd and choose the appropriate zip and slide to install. If placed in internal sd, then choose internal sd from the top and go to /emmc folder, and choose zip and install.
When finished, navigate to the recovery home, and press reboot sytem.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q- Which of the above will increase my binary counter?
A- None! Let me clarify how the binary counter is tipped. The only way the binary counter can be increased is if you flash anything that is non-official Samsung signed, via Odin.
Q- How do I unroot?
A- You can unroot simply by following the steps in section A and not continuing with the rest of the guide.
Q- I encountered a problem, what now?
A- If the problem is related to this guide and the steps followed in this guide, then post it here, I'll try to help when possible. If you encountered a general problem not related to this guide, please post a thread in the Q&A/Troubleshooting section.
ROM Recommendations
If you want a fully stable ROM, with everything working, Cyanogenmod or Cyanogenmod based ROMs currently do not fit the cirteria, as they some bugs still remain in these. So, you may try one of the stock based ROMs.
[AOSP Themed] - JellyMod - by martin_carpio17 Link here
[S4 Themed] - Light JB - by petraru1 Link here
[AOSP Themed] - Pure Vanilla - by ikaster17 Link here
[Xperia UI Themed] Galaxperia - by Achyut Link here
However, if you'd still like to go for most change, and don't mind the small bugs, then you may try Cyanogenmod or the Cyanogenmod based ROMs below.
Cyanogenmod 10 - by diego-ch and other contributing developers Link here
MIUI v4 - by fedevd Link here
Paranoid Android Port - by nlygamz Link here
Cyanilla - by ikaster17 Link here
This is basically it for this tutorial! Finally eh? But really now, all the above is very very easy once you get used to it, I mean, all the sections in the guide, A, B and C can all be done in 5 minutes, but I've simplified everything as to suite everyone's experience.
Hopefully this guide was useful for you...

A million thanks for the guide .. I've installed Jetmod 4.0 and it's running fine. My only concern is that I created a backup of my previous ROM in the internal storage and now just 33MB space is available for installation of apps. Can you please tell me how to 1. Remove the backup, or 2. Move it to the external storage ?
Thanks !
Go to "my files" - internal (sdcard0 I suppose) select what file u want to move an move to external memory (sdcardExt).

I have already tried that, but I am not able to identify the backup. I had used to TWRP to backup and then flash JellyMod. I had looked up on some threads that the backup will be in SD -> TWRP -> Backups (or something similar to this), but there is no such folder in my phone.

in your file manager browse to ext_sd. from within ext_sd you should have a folder labeled nandroid..
also, by default, the backups should be labeled/dated accordingly..
you could also get details on each file from within file manager that will give you more specific info. date created, etc..
hope this helps..
Thanks guys, but I think I didn't make myself clear. The backup is present in the 2GB memory reserved for installing apps. How do I access that storage and remove the backup? I'm an android beginner, so pls have patience with me.

Always have a NANDROID Backup before changing anything on your device!
Please make a backup of your APP´s with e.g. Titanium-Backup to restore them after flashing!
Also it is advisable to make a backup of your contacts!
Note: You might have ROOT before getting custom recovery (CWM, TWRP, PhilZ) to work!
Flash MGA based Pre-Rooted ROM from DjeMBeY or ROOT your Phone to get it!
Users with NEW Bootloader simply flash a MI8 or higher pre-rooted ROM!
You have to build your System completely new to get a 100% working ECHOE ROM!
No "dirty flash" without wipe! Make it like I describe now or leave this Guide immediately!
You need the following for your Galaxy S4 I9505:
Device fully charged! =D--._.-----
Samsung USB connection cable to connect phone to PC
Micro SD-Card Reader for your PC (only if you have a micro-SD Card in the phone)
Samsung USB driver for PC Click here!

I can't find an .android_secure folder anywhere on my SD card.
Just checked and the checksum is correct:
MD5 (/Users/Hate/Downloads/Echoe Illusion Rom v6_28Oct.zip) = 0fba4efafe95457a934cb50946bf552e
Same one as listed at http://d-h.st/AX5 the download link.
Prehaps the upload is corrupt?
Can anyone provide me with an alternative link? I don't want the themed version.
I'm trying downloading it with a different browser however I really cant see chrome being any problem at all?
Please someone help, I'm stuck with an expensive brick currently Well semi-brick :'(
I'd ideally like to fix it as its my only alarm clock!
Thanks

Thanks

Did flashed the ROM like described above?
Did you use the inbuilt Faux Kernel?
Have you flashed the Modem like described in Point #18 ?
What is your Bootloader (old or new (with or without Knox)?
This works flawless! Many people have confirmed! :good:
This flashing method is beyond any doubt, it MUST work if you dont have made thinks wrong!

Flash a stock ROM with Odin first and then go ahead!
For new Bootloader you have to flash stock .tar.md5 XXUEMJ5 Firmware with ODIN.
For old Bootloader you have to fllash stock .tar.md5 XXUEMGA Firmware with ODIN.
Flash stock ROM with my Guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46399517#post46399517

Hi, really like your threads and just discovered this one.
I have a android.secure folder on my external sd card but am wondering, why I can't just delete that one, boot into recovery, wipe and flash the new ROM. In your steps you recommend to take out the card, put it into a card reader, delete the folder, put ROM on external sd card, put card in phone and boot into recovery. Wouldn't that be the same as if I delete it on my phone with a file Explorer and booting into recovery?
Or is this folder recreated while shutting the phone down?
Also, could you explain a bit why this particular folder can make problems?
Thanks in advance!!

I know mate!
I couldn´t delete the .android.secure folder from phone within! I think its used from System and should not be deleted while the system is runnig.
I don´t know what errors/problems this folder could make, I always removed it first.
I think friedrich420 has written that it should be deleted because of making problems when switching from stock ROM to e.g. ECHOE ROM!
SLIM - Yes, Full - No
Hi!
Huge Fan of Echoe Rom. I have a very weird issue with the echoe celstial voices goint to echoe illusion v7. Flashed celestial voices and worked like a charm. Then Illusion V6 Full came up. So downloaded and flashed it. Again worked like a charm. Then I tried the slim version and from there, something weird happened. echoe illusion v6 slim with no kitchen worked out fine, but game me random resets and freeze. So i tried goin back to full. But I cant flash the full version. But can go back to slim without a problem. tried it 20 times now but still getting stucked at boot logo. then v7 came out and still same results.
Cant post to echoerom thread directly due to restrictions. Please advice as to what should i do. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, me with another question regarding external sd + android_secure.folder:
I should take out the external sd, delete the folder and put the ROM on the external sd card. Now when i boot right into revovery will the folder be created again? Cause then it would make more sense to leave external sd card out and put the ROM on internal sd card and flash from there.
As I usually do a fullwipe, including formating internal sd card the ROM would be formated as well. So the ROM needs to be on the external sd card, but then again the android_secure folder might be created while booting up in recovery...i hope you understand my dilemma. :silly:

Hi,
there are some different MTK Chipsets in the Tronsmart TS7.
If your device is a MTK6589 take a look at here
For the newer device based on MTK6582 i want to share my experience, mine is a 4GB version:
Root
- Activate USB debugging
- Download the Root Genius from here to your PC
- Start the 'root genius' and root the phone ...
- Install SuperSU
- Install a Filemanager with root permissions
- Move the KingUser.apk at /system/app/ to everywhere for backup or delete it
but don't deinstall the King User App
- Reboot phone
- Start SuperSU -> the SU Binary will get to update (method -> normal)
CWM Recovery
- Download the TS7_4G_CMW.rar from here
- Download the MTK Droid Tool 2.51 (or higher) & start it
- Click the root button -> permit the ADB Shell root access at SuperSU
- Go to 'root, Backup & recovery' -> activate 'To Use boot from phone'
- Click Button 'Recovery & Boot'
- Question "to make CWM recovery automatically ?" -> No
- Select the downloaded Gacier-TS7_130805__recovery_130815-142418.img
- Flash it & reboot to recovery
Remove the Google-Search-Bar from Homescreen
- Rename/Move/Delete these files, which are located in /system/app
QuickSearchBox.apk
QuickSearchBox.odex
Run Navigon Select (German D1 only)
Read this
Stock ROM released on 28/12/2013
This is not a new Rom, it's the rom on phone on factory default

Flashing on Stock Recovery, look at here
How to flash the Rom in CWM:
Take care, flash on your own risk, just flash it, if you know, what you do !
This method remove your root-access and any mods in your build.prop[/I]
- Unrar the downloaded firmware
- Repack all files in subdir 'update_1226' as a new .zip archiv
- Rename the .zip to 'Update.zip'
- Download the programm 'Auto-Sign' from here
- Unzip the Auto-Sign
- Move your 'Update.zip' into the Auto-Sign Folder
- Start Auto-Sign & sign the Update.zip
- Flash the signed Update.zip in CWM
For Auto-Sign you need .net Framework 3.5 & Java

Dont worry, try this
www(dot)htcmania(dot)com/showthread.php?t=732745
Regarding the new update, what are the changes? Also, I have installed CWM. Is that file compatible with CWM?
update in 1st Posting
Thanks for the guide
However looking at the contents there appears to be a recovery folder. Would it be correct to say that if I were to flash this zip as it is, it will replace my current CWM recovery?
Also, has anyone actually installed the update? Any changes noticed so far?

i have a question regarding the 3g frequencies of the phone:
it says that it supports the 850 wcdma frequency, however someone i spoke to told me that he checked and the phone doesn't support 850, but 900 wcdma instead. can anybody here check it and see if they get the same result?
thanks.
So I managed to put together a update.zip somehow and managed to update the phone. Disappointing thing is I don't see much changes, the phone is still as sluggish as ever. Also, I lost root, and Root Genius can't get back root, so I have restored my CWM backup.
This phone really needs 4.4 Kitkat stat!

The Rom has no upgrade ... because our Tronsmart TS7 this date with the latest version [G820_C1_F1_Tronsmart_V0.2_20131127]
The flash ROM is only necessary to leave the phone to factory settings and remove the ROOT
you should try the VROOT, with this method you do not have to delete the system APK's
Only download and ready SuperSU the application of the Play Store
the procedure in the Post in Spanish of [HTCMania]
The administrator of this post should update the 1st post and add a second method ROOT
EDIT:
In the post HTCMania, is the link of the Rom already signed!
Ready to flash with CWM
I can not post links because I'm new to XDA

Hello guys, I'm looking for Google Play Services for this tablet it's with Intel and Android 4.4.4. Here are some screenshots of all info. I just can't find working Services. I don't need root, but just Services. It was bought without Google Play Store and Services. I hope you can help me. Thanks.

Yes i thought about this, but how?? I think i need custom recovery for this, but can't install one. If there is other way of installing I will be happy. Thanks.
I don't know any other way to install gapp except using recovery.
Install recovery and find your phone gapp and flash using recovery
Hello guys, just wanted to let you know that after many hours of hard work I finally managed to get Google Play Services and root working. If anyone ever needs help with this particular model or any x86 based Android tablet/phone with unknown brand you can send me private message or answer in this thread. The problem with this type of devices is that no one makes custom recovery for them that's why I had to load a temporary one. Here is a link. By following the guide there you will get in recovery pretty much 99% of time. From there it's easy just flash SuperSU package and GApps. The best and only working x86 (Intel Processors) GApps with this version of CWM recovery are Franken GApps. You flash them and you are done. You now have working, licensed and usable tablet/phone! Screenshots below! :highfive:

Hey, I am sorry for the late response. I was away from XDA for a while.
1. To root I can't remember exactly, but there are a few ways I think. First, you can use Framaroot to root it or (recommended) you can directly push SuperSU package from the link I have given.
2. You download this GAPPS package. The download link is in the bottom of the post. You can also download a SuperSU package (ZIP) from here.
3. I see you have followed the instructions to some point. Here let me explain: First you connect your tablet with USB cable to the computer. Second you unzip the downloaded file and run the batch file. You then type "ACCEPT". Then you type "5" to run CWM recovery. Then you type "T4" to chose the forth option to load the recovery. This is basically a program that loads a recovery to your tablet without installing it. Your tablet should now reboot into CWM recovery. Be careful to not disconnect the tablet while you are performing operations since there is almost no way to recover from brick!
4. I guess you are at least a little familiar on how to work with recovery. In case you don't know: First - you very carefully navigate with the volume buttons up and down. You then go to install zip>from sd card>UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65-20151226141550.zip. You then wait a second for the file to be flashed. You now have root. Second - you again navigate with volume buttons and go to install zip>from sd card>FrankenGApps-x86-20140826.zip. You again wait for a second. Now you will have successfully flashed GAPPS. You then very carefully navigate to reboot command and press the power button.
5. Tips:
- be very careful to not disconnect the tablet while flashing;
- backup any important information;
- ask me before you do anything which I have not described so you can be safe from bricking;
*In case the recovery says something like "Not enough space to install zip" or something similar, please, write in this thread so I can help you.
Good luck!

Hello there,
Sorry for the off topic.
I also have the same tablet and I managed to do all the things listed above.
I was trying to update the Android on this thing by flashing a ROM of a very similar tablet (hardware-wise) and I semi bricked it but I managed to recover through the ECU shell(!). I have every partition in img using dd.
The thing is. Do you have any resources about a new ROM? I found the anzhen4_mrd7 source files on GitHub and I'm trying to build a CM build. Downloaded the source code etc.
If you want to collaborate send me a PM

Hello,
unfortunately I am not that good with Android. I don't know how to build ROMs etc., but I may learn one day. Sorry, but I can't help you.
