hi everyone, i saw some days ago that the One M8 get the update of Android 4.4.4 with sense 6.0 and the new HTC Eye experience. i think a porting like this will be very good but for a full fonctionnality of the camera it will required a good kernel developmen i think..
i will and i think some others users will be very curious and greatfull to get this kind of porting on the mini .

the good stuff is that we get back the video and picture snap on same screen like old sense 4.0
For all the people who think the eye experience will be available on one mini then i think a bad news is the answer .. by folowing the Llabtoofer rumors, here is the list of device that will get the features for this

ive been running cyanogenmod 11 nightlies and its been a good experience so far, fast and hardly any bugs. the only problem i have is the stock camera. its not even close to the quality of sense roms. it has trouble focusing and the quality is just subpar. Is there any fixes or mods to help improve quality or is it just one of the drawbacks of running stock android?

I understand that sense camera can't be used on aosp ROMs, but is there any way to improve the camera quality of aosp ROMs, such as cm11?
Well from what I noticed, the image does not look sharp in the camera app, but after I went into gallery and zoomed in, it loads and looks a lot better. I'm not really disappointed with it.

Snap Camera HDR is built from the same 4.4 source, but has many enhancements and performance improvements. It's significantly faster and has a better burst mode. Worth the $2, and you can even install a trial version.

I would also say to go with a paid camera app. I've heard good things about procapture but too cheap to buy it myself yet. Currently I'm use Camera MX. I installed it while I was still running sense and I had the opportunity to compare the two head to head. I'd say the sense one was definitely better but only ever so slightly. Certainly now that I compare Camera MX to the stock one on 4.4, it is like night and day. Camera MX is waaay better.
Finally, I should mention that some camera app makers are starting to tune their apps to the flagship phones (eg. HTC One, S4). That doesn't really help us, but it's something to consider when making your next purchase. Things like the camera really need to be tuned to the hardware to get the best performance.

I run on CM11 and I think the stock CM11 cam is ok.
But I have a problem when the cam needs the flashight in dark environments. The Cam doesn't use the flashlight to focus the image. Only when the image is being recorded, the flashlight is used. That's why I have bad, fuzzy results if the pictures were taken in the dark.
I have also tried another camera apps like the Camera MX but there is the same problem.
Are there others who have the same problem or can it be solved by the settings?

Camera is not the same in 4.4.2 roms. Some have more options, some ar thin in facilities.
just switched to cm11 from an older sense rom. Big feature I'm missing in the camera is the ability to take pictures while recording. This feature is supposed to be included on the camera now, but I can't seem to figure out how to make it work. Am I missing something?
I have the latest version 2.2.024.

i`m current using 4.4.4 since update on 4.4.2 the camera can not zoom. I can zoom on the screen but the picture isn´t zoomed.
That ist with both apps (cm11 app and google camera).

Camera have HD option. Foto not so good.
Picture is way better with Deviant Xone camera.

,sincerly i got a problem,since the new update of the camera and eye experience ,the pictures became fuzzy,the matter fact that the front camera is working very well but the two others i don't think so,i have never met this kind of problems before.i had a chance to visit turkey on november and i made a beautiful pics and i update the new features of the camera there.i tested the new features 3 days ago and when i opened the camera i was chocked,here are some pictures that i took from diffrent places to understand what i mean.actually i made a factory reste but the same.seems like the focus doesn't work properly. .thanks

Today was a day of bad news. I just read this article and apparently the Lollipop update does not bring the new camera API to the Xperia Z1/2/3 series. I could cry!
Now I was wondering, since Custom ROMs can alter so much for a device, whether they can enable the camera API even though Sony doesn't. It would be awesome if there's a developer who could manage to do this - if at all possible of course. I was planning on making a video of these potential new camera controls, but I was surprised to see that Sony just didn't allow the API to be used (I don't know the technical details so correct me if I'm wrong about the actual phrasing there).
Do you have any thoughts on this? Are you a developer, and do you have any experience with this or similar APIs? I for one have no idea if it can be made to work with the Xperia Z1/2/3's camera at all. I'd love to know! :highfive:

I'm not entirely impressed with the camera either, and can't believe we have waited this long for Sony to release the lollipop update, which not only doesn't improve the camera, but its also just 5.0.. i thought the whole delay in the lollipop update was due to the initial quirks in the 5.0 build meaning they would roll out 5.1?
At this point in the game with the competition you cannot be releasing flagships marketed as the worlds best camera which is actually very mediocre. I'm truly disappointed in Sony and will likely not be holding on to my Z3 for much longer.
As it stands, have you tried the 20mp SuperiorAuto xposed module? I have seen quite a significant improvement, if you can live with the occasional crashes...

i'm visiting xda time to time to check custom rom developpement for the K-Zoom (so sad that the stock rom is so buggy (radio/modem and reactivity are the two big issues on my phone...). Back on the S4 for about two months because of these problems (phone not waking up on incoming calls, etc.) but i love my k-zoom !

What? Why are you talking about Asus Zenfone?. It has NOTHING on KZ!.
would be so cool to have raw on this phone :/ but it's dead in the water eitherway and the zoom mech breaks, but I guess every lens does.
