[Q] need good bluetooth headphones for my n4 - Galaxy Note 4 Accessories

i need a good pair of bluetooth headphones (music and voice) for ny n4. I tried out over the ears and didnt like the pressure on my head. i tried the lg tones 7 and 8 series and either the bluetooth didnt work well or the audio quality wasnt great. i want to try the infinium, the new lg tones but cant justify to pay that much for similar types of headsets on thr market.

buy the sony sbh20 and add whatever headphones or earbuds you like

I ordered the JayBird BlueBuds X Sport from Amazon along with a case for the phone. People seem to like the BlueBuds X.

Any BT that uses apt x codec will sound great for being bt headphones. The jaybird x are nice as they support apt x. As well as many of the LG tone headphones. I know the Tone 730 I used sounds great for music. I wonder if your old phone did not have apt x support. Not all of them do. What price range are you looking at?

i have the z10 currently therefore i am estatic to get my n4
my budget is up to 100 but the more cost effective, the better so i can spend more on other accessories!

I have own the jaybirds x for a while now. Couldn't be happier with them. Sure they are a bit expensive but in my opinion worth every penny. My backup pair is the Motorola s10. The range is awesome on them. I could run a 1/8 mile track and never lose signal with my device.

I love my jaybirds bluebuds x they have amazing sound

The jay birds are the best, i found the next best at a fair price to be the Plantronics backbeat 2 to be the next best thing. Great sound good range and small footprint. People have claimed poor battery life. I avagerage about 5 to 6 hours of constant use. They claim 4 to 6 from the company i believe. Can be purchased around 50 dollars.

I've tried two models of the LG Tone with my Note 2. At times they sounded horrible, and also frequently cut the microphone out; the people on the call thought I hung up but I could still hear them but they couldn't hear me. That seemed to be a software issue on the Note 2. And it also got to where the headphones were staticy or went out even though they were only 2 feet from the phone. A reboot 90% of the time fixed those problems for a while.
So far I haven't experienced that with the Note 4 thankfully.

I have a pair of these under the anker brand. Not bad for only 30 bucks that I paid for them.

But i know the jbird x sound much better then these. Do you have to have bt headphones? Maybe get a cheaper set for working out and a better set like these?
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HUNUOJW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have these and they are great for the price.
I think my next headphones may be something like the samsung Level on set. Just waiting for a better price on them.

For those with the Jaybirds, how is the battery life?

AS long as they don't cut out/mute when wifi is on.. Had that issue with my Note 3 and LG HBS-750

I got the jaybirds. Love them. I've never ran them completely out of battery before charging, so I don't know the exact battery life. Have gotten over 5 hours many times though.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A

I want something unintrusive, to take advantage from android wear to actually control the device: so earphones, sound quality and almost no cable... right now the only thing I found are the Jaybirds.
JasonJoel, may I ask how fares the mic and noise cancellation system? The only complaint I've ever heard is about poor voice in-call!

I think the noise cancelation is pretty good. The mic quality is ok, but not great.

I just purchased the Plantronics Backbeats 2 about 3 days ago. Had never seen them but I went into Vzn to look for Note 4 accessories and saw the last pair hanging. I thought to myself, WOW only one pair....that's a good sign, right? lol. Anyway, I have to say I am satisfied with the sound quality. I love the pouch & fact that it is a on the go charger as well. I had plantronics before as a bluetooth earpiece about 10yrs ago and that was a good device way back then. I have issues with finding the proper sized buds to use. Oddly enough the large ones work best as fully plugging my ear for best sound quality. I am still gonna try Sammy' s Circle Gear though.

I have these http://www.amazon.com/MEElectronics...qid=1414287587&sr=8-1&keywords=airfi+matrix+2 MEElectronics Air-Fi Matrix2 AF62 Stereo Bluetooth Wireless + Wired Headphones with aptX, AAC, and NFC . They sound great with BT 4.0 and aptx codec and there isn't much clamping force

Thanks! I have the Platronics Backbeat Go 2, but the ear tips are terrible. There isn't any Comply Foam I can order either. No budget earbuds seem to have better fit and audio quality than the good old Klipsch S4a. I'll definitely pick these up to use with my Klipschs.

What earphones/headphones are you using for your N1?

er, are you just looking for headphone suggestions? Same as any other PMP?
I use Sennheiser CX300, cheap enough on Amazon (** below) but amazingly better than my previous pair, but my next pair I'll go ahead and spend a little more I think. These are really the low end of the mid-range. They spend 98% of their time in my Creative Zen, but hey, I've used 'em on the N1 a time or two.
** Be very careful buying headphones anywhere, there are tons of fakes out there. If you buy 'em on Amazon for example, only buy them from Amazon, ie: Amazon LLC is the seller. At least that way you'll have a better chance of them being real and returning them if they are not. Do research into any set of headphones, but also research the fakes so you can identify if yours are fake when you receive them!

Audiophile headsets?

I use my headsets about 80% of the time... that said the oem headsets are not as loud as I would like them to be. They are ok and just that.
So I'm wondering if anyone knows of any good audiophile headsets for around $50-$70 bucks? I saw Zagg has some but I didn't like that the volume on the headset used a sliding mechanism. I would have preffered a rocker or buttons.
I liked the zagg because it had the mic and everything. I wouldn't buy a headset without the mic for my phone.
I do use the phone as a media player (movies & music) so does anyone have any sites I could check out?

Headphone.com is my go-to source for headwear. There's a bunch of headset options in your price range.
look up Grado. they make great headphones... they have entry levels in your price range if you find them on sale.
here's a good site:

they're also on amazon for the same price.
Check the impedance (given in ohms)
The volume issue most likely has to do with impedance. Headsets with high impedance will have less volume than those with lower impedence. Higher impedance models will tend to last longer, though. Just something else to keep in mind.

The grado's are too expensive with a mic. Its redick and the reviews I have read aren't that positive compared to the sonys.

I haven't had a chance to use those specifically, as I have the "normal" version of those to listen with (and they sound great with nice, tight bass). I went to test my v-modas with my G2, and they keep launching Subsonic rather than the stock music app, but I assume that it works just like it did on my Nexus One. The volume buttons will NOT work on the Sonys (or any others that are for the iPhone 3GS/4), but the call button should work with the music player and answer phone calls.
Kicker makes some of the best headphones. I have the EB91M. The fit very deep in my ear and have tons of bass. I got the M series so I would have a mic to use with my G2.

I have V-Moda Vibe Duos for awhile now. They've went through 3 designs the past 3 years I think. So far, the headset works pretty well but the headphones are more tuned for dance music meaning you'd have to boost midtones in the EQ to flatten the spectrum you hear. Otherwise, it has been pretty good so far.
A pair should set you back $40 - $70 depending on where you find them sold.
whenever this conversation comes up, I have to pimp the Head-Direct RE0.
$350+ sound for ~$70
I currently use:
Sony Ericsson MW-600 Stereo Bluetooth headsets -- they have a mic clip with OLED display that clips to your shirt and a stereo jack to use any headphones you want to it. They work great. Also has an FM Tuner built-in if you want to use that and can pair to two BT devices at once.
I also use Sony MDR-NC7 noise canceling headphones. They are fairly inexpensive for what they are -- $50-$70 USD (I paid 50 at Target). They have decent noise cancellation and are very comfy for long airplane rides. Sound quality is above average. Great for the price, but its not the best.
As far as earbuds, I use the ones that come with my SE BT headset and they sound pretty good. Again, not great, but good enough. The real limit factor is the phone itself. It's not the best audio player in my opinion.
Where can I find these?

NOTE: There is no microphone, which might make this pointless.
Also, if you want accurate sound reproduction, these are EXCELLENT. However, if you need ear-drum bursting bass, look elsewhere. I can honestly say these phones are some of the most accurate I've ever used, and I've bought some EXPENSIVE cans in my day.

[Q]headphones for moto x 2014

You're not going to believe me but these are GREAT. Nothing compares to the sound of these within at least $30. And I have tried a ton of brands. Don't let the price deter you. It comes with 3 sizes of rubber fitting things.
Edit: No mic. Still recommend for excellent audio.

Over-ear, traditional buds, or in-ear? Wired or blue-tooth.
My preference for workout is wired buds (I don't like the rubber in-ear ones as much). I have some Motorola, Senhouser (sp?), and an old pair from blackberry. I actually like the blackberry ones best. I see them offered all the time for $5 or so.
Degauss Pocket headphones don't work
I'm also on the hunt for headphones after switching from iPhone - I want in ear wired buds that let me use in-line controls. I ordered the Sol Republic Jax from the motorola website, which are single button version. With the headset control app, it works ok, letting me pause and play music, pick up calls, and even skip tracks and control volumes although with an annoying two (forward), three (back) and four (volume) clicks. But i think the mic is too far down the headphones, it knocks against my jackets and doesn't pick up sound well when i make calls outside, which is where i mostly use my headphones to make calls from.
So I ordered a pair of Degauss Labs Pocket headphones, advertised as 3 button android headphones. Got them today, they don't even work as single button headphones, so annoying. With the headphones plugged in and nothing playing, I can hear soft clicks when i press the buttons so I know something is being transmitted by the buttons, but nothing happens on my phone, even with the Degauss headphone controller app. Sad, because they're great looking headphones with good sound and the mic is positioned (logically) close to your face.
And the hunt continues - any suggestions for good earbuds with at least a 1 button but ideally 3 button in line control that isn't set up to be the Y splitter of the headphone cord (ie halfway down my body)?
Wired headphones I would like one with a mic so that. I. Don't have to touch my phone. I would like to be able to just leave it in my pocket and say " ok google play..." and well I guess use the same features as if the phone was on the table. Not sure if it would do that with just any hardphones since I don't have any yet.
I have seen the jay bird bluetooth ear buds are a winner with most people but don't know how they work on the moto x
LG HBS 900's.
Yuin Pk2 with Yurbuds sleeves. I own thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of headphones and those are my go-to set. Hands down the best sounding, most musical, and just downright fun pair of buds you can get for under $100. And the Yurbuds sleeves make them comfortable enough to wear all day long and improve the bass response a fair amount. They don't have any buttons, but I'd much rather have an amazing set of headphones with no buttons than a mediocre set with them.
I've got Shure E2Cs that are a decade old (amazing build quality), VSONIC R04 Pros and a couple sets of the $7 Monoprice earbuds. For the gym, running and general wandering around town, the monoprice ones are what I use. Pretty darn durable, sound pretty good and so cheap I don't worry about 'em. When you're moving you're going to be hearing your body and the cord and not paying that much attention, so why spend $$$ on anything other than good fit, decent clarity and some good bass?
I have Yamaha EPH100SL for mobility and Bowers & Wilkins P5 for everything else.
Jesus does anyone have anything reasonable in price that has a mic and controls?
These threads always turn into a brag fest who has the most expensive stuff.
I just got the Aftershokz Bluez 2 Bluetooth headphones and they are seriously slick. They use bone conduction and rest on your cheekbones in front of your ears so there is nothing that goes in or on your ears leaving them wide open. You can listen to music and still hear everything making them great for work. The sound quality isn't the greatest but considering their convenience, it's more than acceptable. They work as a normal bluetooth headset too so you can make calls with them too. I'd check 'em out, they're really neat!

Well, I use a cheap pair of old Blackberry ear buds most of the time, as I have a bunch of them and keep a set in the car, my desk, etc. I prefer the ear bud style to these new in-ear things. My recommendation is always Sennheiser. The old MX line are my choice if I don't want a microphone (based on them being buds). The new CX 5.00 look really nice. MM70s are probably the best suited to standard Android phones. I have HD 280 Pros for home use, about 4 times the size of my phone.
To use them at the gym, I would go bluetooth. Something like a Motorola S10, S11, or SF 500. They can be had for $50 or less and let you put your phone down someplace safe.
EtymotIc HF2. Same pair I've used for M8, Nexus 5, MotoX (OG). Nothing specific or special per phone.

soundmagic mp-21, but it just has one button, soundquality is excellent expecially for a set less than 30 euros, there also is the E10M, which has 3 buttons but only one works in android they say (but that might be oem specific) for less than 50 euros. Google them, I think many audiophiles believe you cannot get better value for money
I have my old Motorola X 2013 headphones, great enough
How about Amazon headphones. Well better than their $10 price tag and the magnet feature is cool.
I'm going to post this again..
Trust me on these GREAT sound. Arguably better than most in ear headphones under $50. You can't lose for $8.

Which headphones are using with your 6P? How much did you pay for them?

Since the Nexus 6P comes without headphones, I was wondering which headphones everyone is using, and how much did it cost them? Would you recommend them to others? If you have tried more than once pair of headphones (wired or wireless) which one would you recommend?
I'm using the XBA-A3's at work and on the go: http://amzn.com/B00FJISZ28 They use a hybrid driver - pairing both a dynamic driver with two balanced armature drivers to create a fantastic sound.
I wear them about 6 hours per work day. They are by far the best sounding headphones I own. That's saying something, as I also own Sennheiser HD 650's, AudioTechnica ath-m50x, Shure SRH-840, Blue MoFi's, and Vmoda Crossfades which I use with my laptop and various portable/desktop headphone amps/dacs.
In searching for the best earbuds, I purchased and returned the RHA t20i, Shure 425s, Sennheiser Momentums, B&W C5s, and Audio-Technica ATH-CKR10... none of which were bad by any stretch of the imagination. The Audio Technica CKR10s are the closest to the XBA-A3, in my opinion. The XBA-A3's have an edge in mid and high end clarity in my comparisons. Balanced armatures for the win. I also prefer the over-ear wire guide and detachable cables. Also, most of those listed above don't have an in-line mic, which the Sony's do have. So, the A3's won, and I'm loving them daily.

Sennheiser HD800's with a chord Hugo amplifier.
~$2200 and sounds wonderful. Would recommend it any day.
I've always used my Audio Technica ATH-ESW9 for whenever I'm away from my T1 at home. They're around $200 new and I got mine for $120 like new off of Amazon a couple years ago. One thing I've always like is the sound signature of the ESW9 deviates from the rest of the Audio Technica offerings, and it's an absolute joy for listening to acoustic instruments. Brownie points for using real wood too. Along with the durable lambskin leather, part of the reason why I prefer them for portable use, the ESW9 provide decent isolation without muting your surroundings when they're properly seated on your ears. Call me paranoid, but too much isolation is why I don't use earbuds; I see it as a hazard.
LG HBS-810, paid about $85, plus $15 for some comply foam tips. Can't complain.
Sony XB-90EX (About 120$ import) with Gain ramped to 5 and the new powerAMP, I think I'm sold until the hybrid tips wear off.

I've just ordered a pair of these, how are you finding them in general?

I'm a basshead and this is my first "In-ear" monitors. I've also been and will be sony's XB fanboy and these pair just blew my mind.
JVC FX850s, though the phone's output & internal DAC makes them sound like crap (coming from Note 4). V4A doesn't make it much better. Placed an order for a cheap portable DAC, FiiO K1.

Great to hear, fan of the bass myself... thanks for the post..
They're currently somewhere between Japan and Manchester
I'm using Sony MDR-EX650 Earphones with Brass Housing, Smartphone Mic and Control. By far the best in ear headphones I've ever bought, and I'm really hard to please when it comes to sound quality. The sounds take is incredibly open for in ear headphones. I can hardly feel them in my ears, the bass Is punchy without making the sound muddy. Fantastic, really glad I bought the 6p, and these headphones. Got them for £60 but can get them for around £40 online
Bose QC 20's ("Samsung Model" which is their Android version) All of the buttons work (vol+,-, play/pause) and it has ANC with an 'active button'. The active mode gives you mild noise canceling with enhanced speaking level tones for running/working out. I paid $300 for them this past summer and I don't regret it at all. I own 5 pairs of Bose headphones total (QC 20's, Freestyle, SiE 2's, OE 2's and the True Sound over ear ones)
Been using the latest xiaomi in ear pro these past two weeks, it is a hybrid : 1ba and 1 dynamic. Bass seem overpowered (i'm not a basshead), mid a bit high and buttons (mic n vol) works with my music player (black player ex), build quality is great for the price. I would recommend this Xiaomi (i got it for around $28 ) for 'on the go' earphones. For 'serious listening' i use my red Shure 535LE with black oyaide cable.
I'm rocking a V-Moda Crossfade LP2 - picked them up as open box off eBay for $99 and added the XL foam ear pads from V-Moda, also an eBay purchase. They sound ridiculously good, and the ear pads make these comfy af. The inline remote does NOT work though, but it worked on a Lumia - go figure, as Apple and MS have a patent deal. >.> Get with it Google! I miss pausing my music or summoning Cortana with the Play/Pause button on the cable.

Since the Nexus 6P comes without headphones, I was wondering which headphones everyone is using, and how much did it cost them? Would you recommend them to others? If you have tried more than once pair of headphones (wired or wireless) which one would you recommend?

I've got a few hooked up for different purposes, Grado SR325i are my hands down favorite for sound but unless I'm sitting still in a quiet room they're not so wonderful.
Realistically though, my MPOW Cheetah Blueetooth get the most play time. $16 on sale. They don't sound anywhere as nice as my RE0's (which I bought so long ago I don't remember the price, definitely more than $16 though), but the whole wireless headphone thing is just so darn practical and the battery life is good enough that I would definitely recommend them.
I've been using Audio-Technica M50x's ($133) around the house and Klipsch S4's ($99) or Jbuds ($35) while out and about. Very happy with all of them.
I use some jbl wireless in ears, bose qc 20s, and sennheiser momentum in ears.
Beats PowerBeats2 Bluetooth for cardio. Paid $100 on Black Friday. I think at $100, its pretty good. Battery life is amazing. Sound is decent. But I wouldn't pay full price for them.
Shure SE215 for everything else. Paid $100 for them.
Bose QC15 for flights which I haven't traveled much lately so its not used ah much. Forgot how much I paid. Maybe $300ish.
I also have Bose IE2, Audio Technician M50 but those are rarely used.

For wireless listening, I use a pair of Jaybird Bluebuds X. They work ver well and sound pretty good.
For wired listening, I have a pair of Klipsch S4is that I use when the BlueBuds are out of battery, and mostly for calls. My favorite pair are the Vmoda Crossfade LP2. The Vmoda give me the best sound out of all my headphones, but I don't like wearing them for extended periods of time. The Vmoda inline controller button does not work on the 6P by the way, and the same applies to many stock headphones for some reason.
I backed The Dash on Kickstarter two years ago and it looks like I should finally be getting mine in the next month or two. I'm very excited to get them to replace the BlueBuds, but Bluetooth sound quality will never match wired units.

Unless you are an audiophile, I will recommend the Mpow Wolverine: http://amzn.com/B017I50T0K. They are cheap and the sound is excellent in my opinion. Additionally, they work perfectly with "Ok Google" commands, I mean detecting the "OK Google", which I have found to be inconsistent with other wireless or wired headphones. The microphone is on the volume control bar, so it is closer to your face and phone calls are really clear.
I also own the Mpow Swift: http://amzn.com/B00PW3B194, which I bought first. These are not as good, the sound is not the best in my opinion. I use them at work to listen to music and news podcast, so I don't need real good sound, as I keep the volume very low. The microphone in this one is on the right-ear headphone, so people have trouble hearing me if it is windy.
PS: No, I don't work for Mpow, I bought them because I found them on sale, so I paid $9.99 for each one.

Wireless headphones?

So I know the Note 7 does not support aptX. I'm seeing Samsung list UHQ Audio as a feature. Is that a high bitrate streaming thing? I see the Samsung Level U Pro Bluetooth Wireless In-ear Headphones on amazon support it and is reviewed well. I know i've been disappointed by blutooth streaming in the past so i'm hoping this UHQ thing is a better alternative.
I have the over ear Level On Pro, with PowerAmp beta, I get flawless 24\192, wireless, play back. It is particularly good when playing native hi-res music from the SDCard. It is better then AptX. I have had many bluetooth headphones over the yeas and this is the best I've heard. I also have the Level U Pro when I need less gear. They are also quite an improvement over similar configured, behind the neck, equipment. UHQ is the real thing.
I'm using sennheiser pxc550 and they are very good quality. No issues at all.

Thanks, think i'll treat myself to the Level U Pro. I need something to play music while i'm working on cars and do prefer higher quality stuff.
Hows the range on the Level U? I grabbed some lg tone 810 last night and the range sucks. Step 5 feet away and it's crackling, 10 and it's searching to reconnect and in clear line of sight
If your looking for sound quality, my Bose SoundLink (Bluetooth) are amazing. And, you can use them for calls too.

Well I had the phone inside my car while I worked around it. I would guess I got like 10 feet away from it and had no issues. They sound great and were only 60 bucks off amazon.

I assume you need to have DVC disabled in poweramp settings, otherwise it might override UHQ?

which is odd, because Samsung did include some apt-x system files in the note 7 firmware.
why would they include the files, if they're not supporting the feature they're for.
i didn't find the apt-x reference at the time.I must have missed it. I have 3 APT-X headphones. UHQ is lots better.
Cant go wrong with bluebuds x2. I also use a UE Boom2 and love it... I am looking for completely wireless so im looking at Bragi right now. I have heard good things
I purchased a pair of Plantronic Backbeat Go2's almost 4 years ago for about $175.00 when there were only a few options out there for bluetooth in-ear stereo headphones. The sound quality is still top notch, the range is alright (I get a clear signal 20 - 25 ft from my phone), the battery life sucks (at the time 4 hours was phenomenal, though).
Most importantly, Plantronics customer service is unbeatable. They've replaced 2 pairs for me outside of the 12 month warranty period- the first was in response to a tweet where I praised the sound quality but was "bummed they called in quits after 16 months". The entire replacement process took place over twitter and I got a new pair within a week. The second just took another private message via twitter to the person that had previously contacted me, and I had another pair a few days later... Unfortunately, my lawn mower got the better of them this weekend.
At $39.00 on Amazon now, they're well worth it. I've got a pair on the way and am just waiting to test the Backbeat Go3's to determine whether I'll spring for a pair of those as well or go for the over-ear Backbeat Pro+.

Got those and Jaybirds x2, the UFO Plus are very good and has nice bass.
I've been using a pair of Olixar X2 Pro for about 6 months now, I'm not a sound quality nut but my dad is a bit of a sound snob and he was quite impressed with them
Absolutely no complaints from me and they were under $60 if iirc.
Thanks for all the replys and input . I ended up grabbing some Platonic backbeat fits.
I do construction and they stay on great with my daily activity. VERY comfortable when in ears and the range is great as well.
I had the LG tone 910s tandhe day before returned them , I couldn't get 5 feet from my phone without it crackling, 8 feet and I lost connection totally.

I got a kitsound manhattan wireless headphone and it sounded great. Bass doesn't break on the loudest volume and treble blends well.
But when I got my Sony SBH70 wireless earphones, I have the best audio experience ever. It's not bulky, sweatproof and lasts long.
I wonder if on the SD 820 variant the Aptx does work as I am suprised by the sound quality of my N9300 .
