[Completed] Hangouts Question - XDA Assist

My girlfriend just recently switched from an iPhone 4S to a OnePlus One. When she wants to send me a message in Google Hangouts, she starts to type my name, and a dialogue box comes up with two choices. One with just my email and a Google Plus photo (which I thought I completely deleted my Google Plus account) and another with my email and phone number as her contact that she just added to the People app. How do I get rid of the "Multiple Profiles Found" dialogue. Its rather annoying as selecting one will start a Hangout while selecting the other one with default to SMS.
When I start to type her name, only one choice comes up and it will start a Hangout, not SMS.

Allow me to Restate XDA Assist Mission from the Sticki thread.
The mission of XDA Assist is to provide basic help to those who have tried searching but can't find what they are looking for and need assistance. This is not a "helpdesk" providing technical assistance but more to point you in the correct direction with your problem. Perhaps you can't find posts on how to root your phone, install custom recovery or maybe you have questions about how to navigate and use features on the site.

You'd know where to post the questions on OnePlus One. Having said that, it sounds like messed up contacts setup or duplicates in her Google Account Contacts.
Thread Closed. Thank you.

Complete sms integration with google voice?

Ok, I have dug and dug on this issue so I am turning to my fellow members to help me out a bit. On my wife's iPhone I have installed the sms and phone integration addons from here: GV Extensions for iPhone | SMS. This allows you to use the stock messaging application to send/receive texts. No special stuff is needed and it just plain works. What I would like to know is how can I accomplish this on my android phones? I currently have an Optimus V and just obtained a Triumph that I will be activating in the next day or two.
I strictly use Google Voice for my phonecalls/sms as I did not want to lose my cell number when I moved from AT&T to Virgin Mobile earlier in this year. So I have the GV app on the phone and I have it set to dial out so my # shows properly to the receiving party and I use it to send/receive texts. Well recently I have been trying out various apps like Iris and they only use the stock messaging app no matter what I have set in preferences. Plus lets be honest, the GV app leaves alot to be desired in terms of looks and it is laggy most of the time.
I know I can forward texts to email but that is just clunky at best. I can also send the sms's to my phones # via the GV interface but what about when I want to text someone that I don't normally text? I don't want to have to go through my entire phonebook and text people and hope they reply just to get the "gv textback #" that I then save to my contacts and set as sms default.
What I would LOVE to be able to do is just open the messages application, choose compose, select my contacts cell #, write a message, and when it sends it not hit my SMS at all but rather be sent directly through my data to GV and then to the recipient.
Is this possible? It seems odd that an iOS device can do this but an android can't. I know it should be but I know it may just be a matter of the right developer taking the time to do it. I would gladly pay the same price as I did for my wife's iPhone apps ($3/each) for this functionality on my androids. Anyone have any insight into this?

Failure to comply with forum rules will result in an infraction and/or ban depending on severity of rule break.
Sorry about that. I thought I put it in the most relevant location. Thanks for moving it though. Now just to see if anyone has an idea on how to do it!
Sorry - I don't have a solution for you, but I second this. I have been trying to find a way to do this for a long time.
BUMP
I really do love Google Voice and can not figure out why they offer a better solution for iOS than Android. Major beef with G over this, especially since they offer partnered with Sprint 6 months ago to offer more integration and have not offered the same option to other vendors or the open source community.

Well, TextMarkter.co.uk provides solution for any Google contact to SMS, you may refer to textmarketer.co.uk/software-partners/ as well.

[Q] Get more out of contact management

I've been using Google contacts and email for some time now and am surprised that there is not a more robust contact management solution from a sales perspective. Most people I think, have a need today to make good searchable notes about the people the they meet, and add reminders to follow-up with certain ones or groups of them.
I was reminded again today how horrible this contact management situation still is today, when I added a contact that I met at a Chumber of Commerce lunch. I remembered "Mark J" which is meaningless to me so I entitled the contact with a two letter code identifying the restaurant where we met, as much of the name I could remember, and relavant details. The title was Db Mark J Owner Limo Svc.
Now what I like about that, is that no longer are you forced to split the name into separate fields because that wouldn't fit.
What I don't like is that when I did a search immediately after adding the name for the word "limo' which is, for crying out loud, in the title of the contact, it did not come up! It wasn't even in the notes or some other field which should also be searchable?
How do others handle this? I know about SalesForce.com and others but monthly commitments are a small business owner's worst nightmare. Is there any way to improve this?
I'd like to at least be able to find a Google contact with a search.
I'd also like to add reminders to follow up on various groups or search matches.
I'd also like to be able let an email campaign interact with them without creating separate lists.
Assistance is greatly appreciated in helping me to get more out of contact management.
Learn java. Create new contacts app.
Or contact Google..
No one from Google will see your issues here.

Android text thread contact number error

After trying to find an answer to this for months I decided to make a post. After converting my contacts from my old Windows Mobile Phone to a Note 3 I have exactly one contact with an issue. The issue is only in the text thread and is a problem when I try to send a text to the contact from the preexisting thread. The contact number at the top of the screen (below the name) has a letter in front of the number for some reason. The letter is not present if I go into the contact or if I export the address book to a spreadsheet through Gmail or Microsoft Live. I tried deleting the contact from Gmail and Live to see if it will start a new thread or fix the error, but it does not. The issue is not present when I create a new text to send to the contact so long as I am not doing it from the preexisting thread, but then everything ends up in the preexisting thread instead of a new thread.
Hopefully someone here can walk me through a backdoor way of editing a text thread to fix this issue with the random letter in front of the contact's number so I can have regular text conversations with this contact without deleting the entire thread and message history.
Any suggestions? Maybe there is another location to post?
Nothing? This has never happened before?
Bump. Is anyone out there? Any suggestions on where to look for the answer?
Is there a moderator that is able to help guide me in the right direction if this should be posted somewhere else?
From the stickies I think this should be moved to Q&A. If I'm reading this right... Have you exported the text thread? That may clean up the database of bad characters. Also search your Gmail contacts for stray data. There might be some oddball associations that need to be deleted or merged.
Help!
I really could use some advice on this matter as I am yet to find a solution. If this thread needs to be moved is there a way to move the thread without making a new one?

I have a bot on my cellphone

Background info
My phone is Samsung s3
Rom is cyanonegmod( i installed it using the tool on their website)
My skill level a very low
The only apps im running are from google play store
I think i have a bot on my cellphone. Earlier today I was looking for an email that had room reservation information from the silver legacy hotel. I have my exchange email linked to my phone so i used the search function in the email app to search for the word silver. The reservation was in the results list. But there where also bunch of outgoing emails that i never sent. The emails looked like spam, i opened one but didn't click on the link. The email had been sent to me from me according to the email, but these emails don't show up in my inbox or sent mail folder. These emails don't show up on any of my computers that have the my exchange email account synced to them. I think there is some sort bot running on my phone. I tried searching using google and the xda forum search function but i couldnt find anything to help me. Is there anyway to remove the bot with out resetting my phone? I've never heard of this happening, but i figured it would only be a matter time before someone figured out how to get bots on cellphones.
Hi there, XDA Assist is mainly for navigational guidance within XDA. Your question is more general and would be appropriate in the General Q&A section. I have asked a moderator to move it for you. Good luck!
I would say they are in your spam folder, a lot of spam email spoofs the sender as the receiver email to get the person to open it. Check your spam folder and I bet they are in there.
I checked the spam folder, the emails weren't there.

[Completed] Contact Merge?

I have a N6P and Google, LinkedIn and Exchange accounts. I would love to merge all of the contacts into one named contact for each person (if this makes sense) within my Google Dialer. Is this possible and keep it updated and synced?
Let me know what you know.

Greetings, assist is for new members to be guided to the correct forum to ask their question. As a senior member you should know you way around xda. You need to ask your question in the N6P forums
Kind Regards
