Got the Verus Thor Case - Galaxy Note 4 Accessories

Here are some pictures of the Verus Thor case that I got today from Amazon. I'm not sure why this case was sent to me since I cancelled it last week and bought the Spigen Tough Armor case instead. I was quite surprised today when I opened the package since I thought it was the tempered glass screen protector that I bought off ebay. However, I am very impressed by the craftsmanship of the case and the way it fits the Note 4. I like it a lot better than the Spigen Tough Armor because it is significantly slimmer and lighter, and the buttons are more responsive and easier to push. Plus the back of the Spigen case was scratched on the first day it was on the phone. It's definitely a keeper. It's $16.99 + $2.00 shipping on Amazon if anyone is interested.

Looks great... Screen protector? A little hard to tell

Looks like no screen protector to me too!

I have the Spigen screen protector but I have been waiting to install it until I get the one I bought off ebay. I'm not expecting much success based on what I have been reading about the current screen protectors. I've been using the Verus case all day and it is great for the price.

Dimpled case always remind me of band-aid.

Looks good

How is the grip? I have a tough armor, and I always feel like I am going to let the phone slip out of my hand

I've been using the case now for three days and I definitely like it. To me it is much better than the Spigen Tough Armor case that scratched after the first day I used it. This is case so much slimmer the the STA case and the back is a lot mire durable. The back is a little slippery, but that is offset by the sides that are kind of sticky. I have no problems recommending this case.

Just ordered one thanks to this review!! ????

Just ordered one in silver

I actually ordered 2 of these from Amazon last week so that they'd be here in time for when I got my Note 4. I echo your statements that they are slim, sturdy, attractive, and well formed to keep from obstructing any of the mics\sensors. I did a lot of research on existing cases before buying and I'd say without a doubt that these are the best out there right now. Just wish that they carried them in red.

I have a blue Thor. Won't look at anything Spigen has to offer. Still waiting on my Titanium Iron Shield.

Received my Charcoal Black Thor yesterday. Nice case. It is actually a bit smaller than the same model I have for the N3 and it looks better. It was purchased as a stop-gap until I could get a UAG case. I can wait on the UAG case.

Thanks for your recommendation. I have the Spigen Tough Armor and it also scratched within a short while. Very disappointed. Glad to hear all the pluses with the Verus Thor.

I ordered the Thor a few days ago, and now I'm having doubts. I have the Verizon Note 4 variant, and now it seems that Verizon was removed from the Verus Thor description as far as being a compatible device. Not only that, but they raised the price. Can anyone confirm this case is working okay with he VZW Note 4?

I have the same blue case, really like the way it feels and looks. Also have the Spigen tough case, but thought it was to slippery, plus I recieved it without the kickstand. Spigen never replied, luckily Amazon took care of it for me. I feel the Thor is an overall better looking and feeling case.

It is. No issues with the Verizon variant here. Calls are still crispy both ways.

Curious - How is it with the heart rate and fingerprint sensors? The Tough Armor is a fail.

Loyal Diztronic user and have my S4 wrapped in one right now. Very sleek.
I have always liked the Incipio Dual Pro cases particularly the button feedback on those. But, it makes the S4 look like a brick.

oh yes ive seen that version of incipio. i like cases with the hard outter shell and the softer rubberized inner shell. thats the reason i bought the slim armor! slimmer, sleeker looking, and still great protection!
When I had my iphone I always used SPG cases so pretty sure I will be getting them again for S4
im a fan of the cheap $3.50 soft rubber cases... i got one on my s3 since last sept. dropped my phone probably 3 times on bare cement from 2-4ft height and not a single scratch on the phone. not to mention no screen protector..

Received the Rearth ringke slim today. Nice materials, but took it off after 5 minutes and put diztronic back on. The s4 looks blacked out with it on and handles better than the Rearth.

I would highly recommend the Incipio DualPro case, or really any of their cases. I have the DualPro and I loved it the moment I pulled it out of the box. Very smooth feel to it, but very sturdy as it comes with a rubber like case that goes on first, and then a hardened case that goes on top of that. It's not bulky like most dual protection cases, it doesn't add a whole lot in weight, can't tell at all honestly. For $29.99, it's a great case for a great phone! If I had to get a case other than the DualPro from them, I would recommend the Frequency case, just a typical TPU case, but also a great product.
I'm obviously new at posting stuff on here, so I can't post a link to their site, just go to incipio.com and I'm sure you guys can figure it out from there
I prefer Trident for my main case. I have one on my S3. It really protects well & looks cool. I'm also giving spigen a shot.

I just picked up the Dante Red - Neo Hybrid case by SGP. I think it its a beauty!

Otterbox Black Defender
Got the case yesterday. Absolutely stunning quality. The S4 is easier to hold while using the phone and gaming. Case itself seem to have good fit and it has no potential gaps for dust or dirt sticking between the phone and the case. Also the screen protector is amongst the best there is, it just aligns perfectly and the feel of the screen is pretty much as without it.
The only con for someone would be the size, but for me in need of a case that really protects while on a motorcycle and in the garage, this is it!
I will order the Glacier (White / Gunmetal Gray) version when released also.
I think my choice is pretty obvious, although we sadly are not in your poll
I personally love SGP's screen protectors. However, I've bought their cases numerous times in the past only to be disappointed. They have a very talented CAD guy that makes all their products look specular, but the quality was just not there when I actually got the cases themselves. That said, I have not used their S4 cases yet.
I wonder why they go by SGP if their name is Spigen. Shouldn't it be SPG?

Trident Aegis Cases
I always get these cases as I think they are the best overall quality for protection and its not too bulky like the otterbox. Had on my S2, S3 and just ordered one off amazon for like 19 bucks. Cant beat that! my s2 and s3 are still in mint condition cause of that case!

The same here. I was not a case fan (making slim devices so bulk or useless protections actually) but after my GS3 took a light hit with shattered screen, I found only a hybrid (soft material with hardened shell) case should be the way to go. After a few hours on forums and YT review, I ordered a Tough.
Has a good grip, feels really tough (didn't tried a 200€ crash test though) even if the soft layer collects dust, it's not as bad as silicon shells and the phone don't get stuck to the pocket when you grab it.
Then, still owning my brave & tough S2 (not so easy to break one, what it endured!) and before stock went down, I bought one for it. Nice one.
Then I went for a GS4 and already had its Tough cover when I received it.
Because of the GS4 design, Case Mate had to lessen the lip/edge around the screen and to cut off the hard shell over both side buttons but all is nicely done and never clutter face buttons (as it sometimes happened with S3) nor affects the screen sides touch.
Because of the straight frame, more rectangular GS4 design, I feel it less bulky in the front jean pocket than GS3 one that had to come around the pebble bezel.
Urban Armor Gear w/ Fly Grip on S4 (still fits Smart Dock), rocked the Aegis on my Note 2 prev
I rock the trident kraken ams case. Awesome protection and good price. One of my favorite featured is being ablr to take the kickstand off and put on a windshield mount or the bike mount. They have like 8 diff accessories to attach to the case.

UAG vs Spigen Neo Hybrid

I'm having trouble deciding between the UAG and the Neo Hybrid. Does anyone have both of these cases that can do a comparison?
It looks like the UAG is a little thicker, but would have better grip and protection.
The Neo Hybrid seems slimmer, but people have mentioned it makes the phone feel wide and not many usb cables fit.
Would love to see both side by side!

I bought UAG because neo hybrid might be slim and looks good to, but the protection is very low for my needs
Does the UAG add much bulkiness? I think what its going to come down to for me is the thickness of each case. I couldn't find the dimensions but emailed support at both companies so hopefully I'll know soon.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
I had both cases for my S3 and both had pros and cons.
The UAG is no doubt tougher and more reliable but in that it also made the buttons next to impossible to press. I'm a very athletic guy and have strong hands but it was just a pain for everyday use. The thing I liked about it though is it looked very tough and attractive and got lots of manly compliments lol.
The Spigen was pretty solid but fit terrible!! The volume buttons were not spaced right, its hard to explain but you never knew if you were pressing the volume up or down. Best thing about the Spigen is it was very thin and I'm still sure it would have held up in many hard drops. Hopefully they have the fitment issue fixed for the S4 version.
I have already ordered the Spigen for my S4 since all the video tutorials on youtube seemed to fit perfect. I'll report back with pictures when I get it!
I have the spigen and man this case is the best. The quality is second to none and yes I love that it doesn't add any bulk to my phone keeps it slim. For protection I feel very confident that I can drop my phone about waist high and this case will do just fine. I also had the it uag for my s3 and looks like the s4 version is identical so even tho I don't have the s4 version I'm not going to buy one cause this spigen case is the bomb and I'm going to order another one for a different color as I have the yellow one and now want the red one as well,.
Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk 2
Only thing I'm noticing about the Neo Hybrid is that with it off, the phone feels like the perfect width in my hands (texting, browsing, etc...) But when I put it on the phone feels a bit too wide, almost awkward. Just my 2 cents...
i haf both cases and i have to said i like uag better. neo is good to look at but it too wide for my liking. the usb port opening is a problem too, fit e stock sammy cable but not the rest of those usb cables ard. Protection wise, doubled it will survive a fall, the rubber lip off e glass is super thin. The power button is also too easily activated when put in side pocket.
furthermore the 'sharp' edges is uncomfortable if u are those who 'pocket' ur phone instead of keeping it in bag. Bottom line tat case make my phone felt like a note2 wif a smaller screen.

I ordered UAG case I love it's looks and it's definitely more protective then neo hybrid anyone used the phone without case for like 2 weeks and then put UAG case on? The size now of naked s4 is just super for me. Did u get used to it fast?

Prices on the UAG have historically been driven down almost immediately when the listings on Amazon get fully stocked (usually just a few weeks) so I decided to start with the Neo Hybrid and wait to get the UAG once the price drops.

Here, how the same 3 cases will look with Spigen GlasTr laid down on top of the screen. Fits Slim and Neo, but not UAG. Furthermore, GlasTr is 0.4mm which is a bit too thick even for Spigen cases. I would probably recommend using GlasT (0.23 mm) which is thinner. Thicker glass should go with bigger bumper cases, if you find one that fits GlasTr. I'm going to post soon a more detailed review of Neo Hybrid, Aluminum replacement buttons, and GlasTr.
What screen protector are you rocking?
Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk 2
If you referring to pictures above, that one is Spigen GlasTr tempered glass. I only laid it down because I'm using display model of S4 for my review (not a real phone). On my Note 2 I have Seidio VITREO tempered glass which is INSANE in quality, but seems they are not making it for S4.

There is a separate thread about these already, and it's at the top of the forum, don't even have to do a search. I personally already offered my opinion about it - it's a cheaper copy cat. I can't comment on quality, so let someone else comment who has both cases. I don't have any intent to order it just for review purpose. Just my personal opinion...
Really like my UAG case. I have both the Slim Armor and the UAG. The Slim Armor is great as well, but not as protective as the UAG. For the protection it provides, I really don't feel the UAG is that bulky. Overall it's thinner than my GNex was with a case, so I'm happy.

I'm personally after a better protection, so UAG hands down. Spigen cases are awesome and I'm very happy they stepped up their typical minimal slim design to offer a much better drop protection. But still, in my personal opinion based on my personal requirements - I choose UAG over Spigen because I need a more rugged protection.

Good case that doesn't add to much bulk?!

I always buy a case before I buy my device (I'm just weird like that lol)... so I'm looking for a good protective case that doesn't add to much bulk to my S5. Preferably is raised a littl (to protect against screen cracking if it falls), and also camera and LED flash are protected as well on the back.
Thanks in advance to any suggestions!
I highly recommend the Urban Armor Gear cases. I had one on the S3/S4 and they are great. Protected it from many drops and adds very little bulk compared the amount of protection. Mine for the S5 should be here any minute now (on truck for delivery).
I use Body Glove. It's slim and protects all corners. Also, it doesn't interfere with the fingerprint scanner nor HRM.
Had otterbox, too bulky. Then found Spivey NEO Hybrid case for nexus 5, amazing case, slim yet very protective (dropped nexus yet only little scratch on case but not on phone). Now use Spigen Neo for this phone, check it out.
While you're checking out the Spigen web site, also take a look at their Slim Armor and Tough Armor cases.
I've got a Tough Armor case on the way through the glacial US postal service. Hopefully, it'll show up tomorrow like the tracking information indicates.
SO far I have narrowed it down to these 4 cases, but not sure on the color yet!! But if anyone has any more recommendations to make my decision tougher, I'm all for it!! So I have the UAG case. But I am finding that NFC doesn't work as reliably and the finger sensor is very hard to swipe correctly with the case because of the lip around the case/phone. So I may be returning it.

Protective case
I bought from T-Mobile Tech 21 Impactology and is very thin and protects great
I have the Spigen slim armor on my phone and love it. I hate thick cases and usually find the thinnest I can. I went on a chance and love this one. IT is a very tight fit and adds minimal bulk. My wife bought an incipio and now wants my case as it is a lot less bulkier.
Take a look at the otterbox commuter series.
http://www.amazon.com/Otterbox-Comm...3&sr=1-4&keywords=galaxy+s5+otterbox+commuter
I had the NeoHybrid for the S4. I loved it for the first month, but after that the paint started wearing off tremendously on the edges. It was an official Spigen directly from them, so I was not too thrilled with that. They don't seem to dye the plastic, they paint it. At that time, they were also charging around $29+ for the case.
Something to consider, as I doubt they changed this for the S5. I might give their Tough Armor a try, as it doesn't have the edges of the NeoHybrid, so the breakdown shouldn't be as severe.

Slimmest Case Available for the S6

If I end up getting an S6, I'll probably want the slimmest case possible since I won't need uber-protection nor do I wish to add a lot more bulk.
These are the three I'm currently considering:

And just an FYI - I bought a Ringke SLIM case for my Note 4 and what I noticed was that it leaves scratch marks when you try to remove it.
I now use my Note 4 naked, but for the S6 I don't think that's the way I'll go, especially with all that glass material and the phone itself being such a finger print magnet.
Let me know which slim cases you're considering and if there's others out there.
the slimmest would be the Spigen Ultra thin, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QU4N7AK/, which Spigen claims to be the "thinnest on the market"

I ordered that one yesterday
The last one looks pretty nice.
That's actually quite nice, but not sure if I'm a fan of the buttons. I like using the actual phone buttons.
I'm planing to purchase Ringke or Spigen cases but I'm not sure about their wireless charging capability. Any ideas?

in this case is where thin would be best. hard to say which will work and which won't but im pretty sure the one like i posted above (spigen) will work because it's fairly thin.

i am the opposite. after having the Spigen Neo Hybrid on my S4/S5, it make pushing the buttons so much easier than having them recessed due to the case.

So, basically, what you're saying is that the "clickity click" feel when you press the button is still solid and pronounced?
May have to give it a try then...
the obliq slim case for this phone looks extremely nice. i'm probably going to pick that one up as it offers protection on top corners for the phone and fits snug all around it. just my opinion
Obliq went down to 9.99 on Amazon
Picked up that and spigen to test them out. Will return one of them

This one looks really slim! The Smoke-White version on a white Galaxy S6 looks amazing and also invisible! I just don't like the logo on the side, i wish they didn't put any logo on it... If i buy a 700€ phone, then i really don't need the logo of a 10$ case on it.

I purchased this one as well. I really can't tell from the picture, but do you think it has a lip to protect the front screen?
Ugh, all these cases have that nasty huge cutout for the camera and sensor. I've seen a couple that actually have two separate cutouts one for each but they're bulkier.
Any suggestions?

yeah, it does wrap around the front a bit for protection.

the Spigen Neo Hybrid is probably one of the best cases because it's fairly thin, has nice "clicky" buttons and offers all around protection without all the bulk. it has separate cutouts for camera and sensor.. plus it's nice as hell, especially the slate color, i ordered one and received it yesterday...
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QU4Q31A/
Spigen also makes just a bumper (Neo Hybrid EX) without a backing which is also pretty nice..

I don't really understand the idea of bumpers. All of the size is still added both around the phone and in depth so there is no value not having the back
I ordered the rearth slims and the spigen ultra slim clear tpu one. Supposed to be here this coming week.
I've always been a fan of the rearth/ringke slims on all recent phones. They are the best compromise of decent protection and slimness imo. Looking forward yo trying out the super thin spigen clear tpu one too

while that is kind of true, bumpers allows you to have some protection while still keeping the device fairely naked so you don't cover all that "fancy" glass back.
The spigen ultra slim looks and feels very nice on the phone. Sending the other clear cases I have back. They all came with a protective film you're supposed to slap on the back of the phone to protect it from the case itself. The spigen has this micro pattern embedded into the back of the case, it's hard to explain but it looks good and seems like whatever they put on the back of the case protects the glass on the back of the s6 from smudging up against the clear tpu

good to hear. this is why i tell everyone to just buy Spigen and save the hassle from buying a dozen different other cases to still not like them, buy once and be done, Spigen rarely ever disappoints and if you're not happy for whatever reason just contact them and they will take care of you.

Diztronic S6 case

i haven't seen this one mentioned yet. I had diztronic cases for several of my prior phones, and they've been quality cases. When I saw they were selling cases for the S6, I had to pull the trigger.
Just got mine today, and I am not disappointed. Quality case, does not add any bulk, but still provides protection for the screen and the camera. The buttons feel nice and similar to prior diztronic cases that I've had. The material is a TPU type of material, but not shiny, and provides decent grip. All ports and openings line up correctly.
There are better pics of the case on their website and on Amazon, but I am attaching pics of it on my phone.
Looks decent. I had Diztronic cases on my Galaxy Nexus and my Nexus 5 and was always happy with them. Unfortunately they didn't have a case out when I pre-ordered my S6, so I ended up getting a Spigen case instead. The Spigen one looks fairly similar to the Diztronic case, with the exception of some additional textures on the back.

Yeah, that Spigen case looks pretty nice too. I decided to go with the Diztronic since I've had positive experience with them before.
Check out this one.

I bought this one from Labato. http://www.labato.com/46-samsung-s6-cases-Really slim and looks cool, the best part is it only cost me $6.99.
Yes I'm a fan of their cases. Great value. I could not wait and bought an incipio from the TMO store. It was twice the price of the Diztronic and has an overall similar feel and design. I don't like how they put their brand on the back though. I wish they stuck with their logo on the back like the older ones. The one on my Nexus 6 has the branding on the edge which was far better.
Don't be fooled by the slim form factor! It definitely protects the device!
got mine this morning! ugh much better. Returned my Spigen and Obliq cases
I've had diz on my fiance iphone 6, and my nexus 4 and 5. I've always loved their cases
This feels much better and now im protected on the top and button unlike the spigen which had no coverage. It just feel better to hold
I got a Diztronic Ultra for my S6. I love the matte texture and the accurate fit, plus I'm sure it protects the phone well. On the other hand, I hate holding it because the edges are very flat and they cut into your hand, kind of like the iPhone 5.
Any suggestions? Thanks

I had Diztronic on my last three phones (Galaxy Nexus, 2013 Moto X, 2014 Moto X) and really liked them, but agree with you on the S6 - it was too sharp on the edges and the bottom portion (near the headphone jack, charging port, speakers) was too thick. I ended up with the Incipio NGP (http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-Incipio-Resistant-S6-Frost/dp/B00TRN9IEK). It's so much better feeling than the Diztronic for the S6. And it's only $3 for the black one!
The NGP looks very thin. Is it protective enough? Could you post pics of it on top of and next to a Diztronic case?
Thanks

Sorry, the Diztronic is long gone. And I don't have an easy way to take pictures of my own phone right now, but maybe these will help:
http://www.amazon.com/review/R135D0...etail-glance&nodeID=2335752011&store=wireless
http://phandroid.s3.amazonaws.com/w.../Incipio-NGP-Galaxy-S6-Edge-case-DSC09503.jpg (this is an s6 edge, but you can see how it looks at the bottom of the phone)
For me, it's protective enough - I don't drop my phone very much, plus I'm indoors most of the time, so I don't worry about concrete/asphalt drops.

Thanks, that's pretty helpful
From memory, would you say the Diztronic was about the same as the NGP in terms of thickness and protection? Or is the NGP thinner?

Pretty sure the Diztronic is thicker all around. I'll put it this way - when I had the Diztronic, I wanted to take the case off all the time. With the NGP, the phone almost always feels better ON than off.
