S View cover and taking pics - Galaxy Note 4 Accessories

Did we lose the ability to take pictures with the cover flipped all the way back? This is what happens when I use the flash...

And before anyone says anything, this was right after my kitten thought she was Tarzan... lol

anybody?

Did you take off the little layer of film that's on top of the camera lens? And also (I'm assuming that your referring to a S-View Case) you can always just pictures with the case completely closed through the S-View window.
It's never gonna look that great if your taking the picture through the plastic opening in the case - smudges from hands, dust, etc.
EDIT: Just saw that you said you were using flash - the light from the flash is just gonna reflect back at the camera lens and blur your photo out like it did there. Has that not always been the case? It should look decent enough if you don't use flash.

Come to think of it I don't ever recall using the flash with the cover all the way back. Tried the same pic with my wife's S5 with S-View and got the same result... oh well, better late than never lol

Just don't cover ur camera with the s view cover. Problem solved
Sent from my SM-N910C using XDA Free mobile app

I notice when I take a picture with the s view window when it's flipped closed the picture is smaller resolution than a picture when the flip is open. Is there a way to change this?

Sorry about hi-jacking your thread.

Case Vs Cradle

I want a case , or a rubber encasing perhaps (just waiting to see all the accessories once this goes global) BUT I love the idea of a cradle..
If I were to give you one.. which would you choose? I want both but it isn't really feasible hey..
The case no need for a dock yeett ....
I wonder is the front and back for the galaxy S easily exchange able ?
I got a silicone case on ebay for <$3us. I know it might stretch if I'm not careful, but it would let you keep your phone safe without precluding a cradle.
Check out these. I bet you could think of something better.

The back is just a piece of plastic, you just pop it off with your finger, nothing fancy at all. I fully expect a wide variety of cheap replacement backs for this phone in a very short period of time. That is why I am not worrying about scratching the back much, just the screen.

If anyone gets this, please report back, I'm only interested due to the backing/kickstand. I dislike the front, screen cover. The link provides some pictures, even more can be found here: http://www.bb.co.kr/main/model/model.php?model_id=2373993&qword=SHW-M110s

There are two different models in the pic I posted - the kick-stand version doesn't come with the fold over screen cover

[Q] Defaulting screen to be flipped?

Hey guys - I have the Kevikev case, and as we all know the device is upside down the case. With that being said: Can you make my default screen orientation to be flipped? Before you say flip and and lock it, I do not want to do that, I still would like to take advantage of being able to go to portrait too. Wondering if there is a hack or a command I can run that will make my XOOM default be upside down?
Thanks.

I posted a comment on your review of the case in the other thread.....the case isn't upside down. You're holding it upside down. When you fold the front around to the back and insert it into that slot, the short side is the bottom and not the back. It doesn't give the greatest angle for typing, but you're supposed to stand it up on the short end.

Could you please tell me what you mean by the case is upside down? isntthe front facing camera SUPPOSE to be out the top in landscape mode? im reffering to when you have it the video call stand position.. if the xoom was inserted the other way the camera would then be pointed at your chest. thus it is not backwards. why are we not placing blame where it belongs? the auto rotation lags not the fault of the case thats a system issue that hopefully will be fixed along with all the badly needed updates we all are sooooooooo in need of

Nillkin Flip Case with "Smart Window"

Not so "Smart". It's just a cutout so that you can see the clock in the lockscreen and maybe the phone number when someone calls you, but only that. I have one, and the only thing I don't like are the cutouts for the buttons, they are not well placed. I prefer having a silicon flip cover instead of this one
So I found an alternative with cutout

Well, that looks quite better, but still hard plastic case, the buttons in the right side are hard to press, just like in the Nillkin XD
If there would be something like this, but with a cover over it... LOL

maybe there as app for that that could concentrate important concent into the small window. but anyways, windowed cases are utterly pointless on non-AMOLED screens

Absolutely correct. In the M2, all the LCD goes ON, not like in AMOLED, where 0 equals fully off pixel. However, just to check what time is it, or who is calling you is nice, and the screen is protected..

What can cause that to the Camera ?

I replaced the back glass cuz it was broken and the new one is not glued right on the camera side. Can that be the case or there is a problem with my camera ?
I think it is just dust that gets inside the back glass in the camera but I'm noit sure :/
Its called flashbleed, when material around camera leed flash light near camera sensor.
Probably this "replaced" glass its higher or in same level as camera lens, and it takes light as light flash turn on.
Solution is to replace it with original part, or to glue it better. But i would advise to repair it with original parts only.

Thank U for Your reply
So now if I take it to my local Sony branch I should just ask them to replace it with original part. and not ask them about the camera, and this problem will be fixed as result of the replacement of the glass ?
And these shadow dots aren't visible in my first pictures cuz I took pictures of a black object. What is their problem ?
Well honestly, for this i have no rational explanation. Only i can advise is to clean it with soft fabric material on both side.
So know one knows what cause the dots ?!
I Tried cleaning it but it still there

That looks like dust on the sensor (deep inside the phone - you won't be cleaning that yourself)

Look at the picture of the bird. The smaller the aperture the smaller and more noticeable the black circles.

Possible Flash Reflection from Case Cutout Fix

Some of you have heard of the flash issue with pixel/pixel xl cases, where when the flash is used, the light is reflected off the case cutout and shows up in the image. If the camera/flash were in a hump, that would allow it to extend pass the edge of the case and avoid all this. But anyway, I may have a fix.
It doesn't involve cutting the case to increase the camera opening. What we need to do is to prevent the flash from reflecting off the cutout of the case. So just take a black marker and start painting the internal edge of the cutout. I used a sharpie but perhaps an actual paint pen would be better for more opaque ink.
The case I just bought is one of these common styles:

The part that the phone actually sits in is a clear TPU part, so that makes it super reflective. I wonder if many of these issues can be solved if the internal case were simply black. So I had to blacken the edge of the outer case as well as the inner case. The inner case was harder to color because its surface is slippery and takes may layers to get the sharpie ink dark and wide enough.
Good idea for camera. That's a nice case, is it wallet with card slots?

It's this case:
https://smile.amazon.com/Feitenn-Premium-Leather-Kicstand-Magnetic/dp/B01M5JF48V
There is one slot on the cover, but I would not use it for anything other than a single business card. The pocket area is not indented so cards will cause the pocket to bulge toward the screen and push the cover far enough away to keep the closing magnet from working.
Also, the magnet in the cover serve only to keep the cover closed when in the front and when flipped to the back, but will not trigger the sleep/wake function (magnet needs to be near the bottom middle for that to work). But I specifically picked this case because it doesn't support the sleep/wake function so I can close the cover and have youtube continue to play, which won't work if the device locks. I then use another app to turn off the screen when the proximity sensor detects that the cover is closed (http://bsol.derpdeveloper.com/).
