look at Settings>Accessibility>turn off the play sound after full charge
but I'm not sure if it still plays sound or not when charging
Unfortunately that only applies to usb charging. The dock (magnetic connector) still makes noise which is annoying if not on silent
Not working, any other help?

I'm allergic to useless and annoying noise like this, so I use tasker and temporarily mute all sounds for a few seconds when any charger is connected. Ie no more annoying sound! ?

Has anyone had issues with the audio output from the phone shutting off and not coming back without a soft reset? I have Sprint Touch Pro
Sometimes when I plug my phone into my cars audio system via the mini usb to 3.5mm audio adapter, sound output from the phone shuts off. I have tried to unplug it, stop the music playback, restart WMP but the sound doesn't come back. When I say there is no sound, I mean that the phone will not make any type of noise, not just music, it won't even ring when someone calls. If I soft reset it the sound comes back. It has done this to me about 5 times already. Any ideas?
Has this happened to anyone else?
Mine does that when I have a usb adapter connected - and I don't actually have a cable connected. Because it assumes output is going out through a 3.5 mm jack. But I've always gotten output to my headphones.
Is your phone going silent while connected to your car stereo - or only before connecting?
hi, this may be a silly response, but it happened to me, the system on the phone was on silent so no sounds play, sorry if this is obvious, but like I said I did it......doh

Dude this happened to me too I just got my phone yesterday and while playing music thru the headset it just suddenly went silent last time it did that but then again i've only had it 2 days
I just had the exact same thing happen. I used my TP in the car with the audio out and the phone has no sound. Soft reset fixed it but after 20 mins it happened again and I was not using the mini adapter.
Has anyone figured out why this happens?
EDIT
Ok... now since this happened the first time I can reproduce this behavior. If I send myself a test SMS I hear the alert. If I then plug the power adapter in the phone and charge it with the screen still on, I still hear the alert. As soon as the screen is powered off (still charging) and I send a test SMS I see the lights around the directional pad blinking, but get no audible alert. Then if I turn the screen on I cannot hear any sound at all. MP3's, alerts, ringers etc.
I would really like this feature as I have a modded phone to work with the touchstone. I would love to hear a notification sound so I know when it is attached charging on the touchstone.
Thanks for any help!
You can use "Llama - Location Profiles" but this might be overkill…
Thanks for the quick response but i was looking for a basic app to play a notification sound when connected to the charger. Any other suggestions?
Hi, just wondering if anyone know how to make the high bluetooth sound to stick?? Seem to me when it is connected to my car audio, the volume sound is very small.....I have to push the vol up (and it comes with that warning sound) and the volume will play ok. Problem is I have to do this every time it's connected to my car bluetooth. Is there any hack or something that will make it stick by default??? I am already using the sound mod, but to no effect???

I'm not sure if there is a hack for it. It does the same thing to me when plugging in an aux cord or headphones. There may be a hack if you're rooted, but I'm not sure.

I am rooted......so I am really opened to any solution/hack that can keep this option on without the warning or repeating.
Hi,
My old Nexus 5 (vanilla 5.1.1 not rooted) is malfunctioning.
There is no sound coming from the speaker in the bottom of the phone and the microphone is not picking up any sound when making a normal call and/or recording a video.
The speaker at the top of the phone however, is working. So I hear people in phone calls, but they do not hear me.
Now to the strange part: If I change to the loud speaker while in a call it's the opposite; I can not hear them but they can hear me.
If I connect headphones into the headphone jack I can hear sound both in calls and in video playback.
So to summarize:
Playing video or music (YouTube, video recording, dialer sounds): No sound
Playing video or music (YouTube, video recording, dialer sounds) with headphones: Sound working
Recording video: No sound recorded
Making a phone call: Sound but no microphone
Making a phone call with loudspeaker on: No sound but microphone working
Making a phone call with handsfree connected: Not tested (I have no headphones with mic).
And what's even more strange is that I just replaced the flex cable with the microphone and charging dock and also the entire speaker with new parts from eBay. And guess what... it's still not working!!!
Flex cable I replaced: http://www.ebay.com/itm/281669874921
Speaker I replaced: http://www.ebay.com/itm/252003488330
Followed this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPuCmfhzgbg
What now? I really thought the replacement parts would solve this. :crying:
Any help is highly appreciated!
Regards

Bump. Nobody?!
Have you tried booting into safe mode and testing the speakers?

No, I will try that. So you think this could be an software issue?

Maybe since replacing the parts didnt work
It's not a software issue. It's a loose flex cable issue. Holy hell this is annoying...
Found this video after an hour seaching: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Af5DvIZwSss
I pressed on the back of the phone where the flex cable connects and voilá; speaker and microphone working again.
Replacing the flex cable didn't solve the issue, very strange. I will now open up the phone again, clean the port on the motherboard with electrical cleaner and see if that solves the problem. If not then I will place something to press down on the connector, just as he did in the video.
It's most likely that the pins on the socket that the flex cable connects to are broken. Because they're so small, it's extremely hard to detect. The first few pins on the top left of the socket carry data for the mic and speaker. Pushing down reconnects the broken pins. Be careful that you don't push too hard, because that could bend them out of alignment permanently, and potentially break other pins.
Anyone having this issue?
Mic out only works if I have a charger connected to the phone.
If I don't have a charger:
1. I don't have any sound coming out of the microphone jack
2. I can only hear partial sounds meaning I can only hear background music and not the vocals from music.
