(It's my first thread here so forgive me for any errors or unspoken rules that I have broken )
Hello XDA! Today I have come seeking help.
I own a D2303 M2 with a locked bootloader without root sitting on Kk 4.4.2,and I want to downgrade to 4.3 so I can hopefully use towelroot to root.
Here comes the main problem/question:
I'm running the on the UK exclusive 'EE' network. If I flash a stock ROM with the wrong carrier, will I be kicked off of my carrier network? I can't seem to find a 4.3 ROM that begins with the build number 18.3.C and EE to stay on the safe side. If anyone could upload or point me in the general direction of one, that would be great!
Thanks in advance, (hopefully)
Just another JB noob

The A in ST26a means the bootloader cannot be unlocked.
A locked bootloader means you won't be able to do 99% of the things here, so you're kinda ****ed. Also limited to ROMs based on the stock firmware.
When it comes to rooting, CydiaImpactor is the simplest: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2593750
I have a galaxy s4 SGH-l337 provider is Att. I never rooted/hacked/flashed/done anything to my phone, it's all stock/basic.
Been a few days now after the android version V5.0.1 upstalled itself onto my phone. It's awful I wanted to get the new android version graviton, but before i can i need to root my phone. I haven't had success with using the popular rooting software because they do not support my version. So i am looking to revert back to kitkat and then to graviton. But, before i can revert back to kitkat i need the firmware file, and the place i went to had all but my phones model
Have i hit a dead end until lolipop works with a root program?
Thanks for the time. CraigK

Hello, first timer with a noob question.
Long story short, I want to unlock my Galaxy S4 (Verizon, SCH-I545, 4.4.2, NK1) to use other SIM cards? Simple, no? No. I had rooted my phone do I could change a text file to enable the hidden menus and then found that the menu I needed is incomplete (Perso Sha 256)--a symptom of 4.4.2, I read.
I thought that downgrading to 4.2.2 might enable the menu, but I started reading about custom roms and became interested. However, the cyano wiki says it can't be installed on my version (NK1) and I'm wondering if Pacman has a similar issue since it borrows from cyano.
My main question: 1) am I on the right track to unlock SIM capability? 2) if so, do you recommend I downgrade or install a custom rom?
Sorry if I'm in the wrong forum. I simply want to make phone calls in another country and Verizon is making it very difficult for me. Any suggestions or advice about downgrading/custom roms/SIM unlocking would be much appreciated as I am as noob as they come.
Thank you!

Although I couldn't find any root methods for my galaxy S5 active I seen something about downgrading it to 4.4.2 to use towelroot. I ran into an internet problem trying to download the firmware, fixed that. Then Odin started having problems before it started downgrading. Is it possible to downgrade? Its running the OF3 bootloader and after doing some research I found some people saying it's locked and impossible to downgrade. So is it possible To downgrade a SM-G870A running the 5.0 lollipop update with the OF3 bootloader? Or is there some kind of root available for it? Or even someway to unlock the bootloader without losing all my data? I've been trying to figure something out for 3 days straight now.
Thanks.
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
After reading this thread, it seems that you can't downgrade to Kitkat.

I have a stock unrooted Motorola nexus6 that is currently running lollipop 5.1.1 build LZY28N. I am using the AT&T straight talk sim card. I cannot get it to update to marshmallow. ive been considering unlocking the bootloader and flashing it myself, but I don't know wich build to download. from what ive gathered the LZY28N build is tmobile build. I also seen somewhere that I need to download build MRA58K. I have downloaded this build but have not proceeded because I'm not sure if it is the correct build. I want to get an official build as to not screw up my new device. I recently had a one plus one running cyanogen 12.1 and it was crashing a lot and I'm trying to prevent this from happening to this phone. anyone out there have any info for me? I know how to unlock bootloader, root, install twrp, and flash. I just need some direction as to what build to flash and have everything go as smooth as possible
