[APP] NetworkMode v1.0 - One (M8) Themes and Apps

recently, i got an update on my HTC One m8 to android 4.4.4, and that update removed the option for "2G" only Mode in the Preferred Network Mode, so i made this little app to bring it back
android:minSdkVersion="14"
android:targetSdkVersion="19"
!!!
Please Use at your Own Risk since this also lets you edit other radio related settings!

Nice, secret menu - like that since good old Nokia days. Cheers.

Yes or that, but not everyone knows that code hence the app

Just for kicks... It's *#*#info#*#* on a phone keypad. Had a moment when I figured it out.

[Q] Cant make calls with my phone anymore

Hi,
I have a big problem, i bought a Inew V3 about 3 weeks ago, and evrything worked fine
After a week or so i downloaded mobileuncle tools and just checked around what settings there was. I apparently changed something as i cannot make any calls or take any calls anymore..
I can send and get text SMS though and i can go on the internet aswell
When i try to make a call it says. "Call Forwarding" "On Conditional" and hangs up
I tried to reset the phone, still the same problem
I have also tried to flash another rom, and another sim card, but i still cant make any calls
SIM card works fine in my galaxy s2 with im using right now till i get this phone fixed
Settings on Phone App > Settings > Voice Call Settings > Call Forwarding
Always forward: Disabled
Forward when busy: Disabled
Also posted on another forum but noone could help me
Anyone know what i might have changed?
Would appreciate any help

MAN thats really a lot of settings.
I don't own this phone. In the seetings you will face "CFU" (Call forwarding unconditioned) what means always forward calls. Screenshot shows "default" you can also choose always query OR always not query
Thats clearly RELATED to the call forwarding. May be try both setting.
BTW have you simply tried out the other simslot?

Next: Type/dial ##002# as it will deavtivate all conditional forwarding
That will help in most cases.
Just for your information: "conditional forwarding" settings are stored to your provider NOT to your sim // telephone. The phone will just read out the provider settings stored for BUT NOT actually to you simcard.

Tried the ##002# now and still dosent work.
So it must be something else than conditional forwarding
If i take out the sim and put it back in my old phone(galaxy s2) it works perfect
Anyone else that has an idea?
Thanks again for the reply

Just to be clear about it:
Have you performed getting phone fully back to stock? Not flashing a rom BUT using the manufactirers files? They should delete everything and set phone back to FULL stock as it seems the issue is "stored" in the phone and not to your sim

[GUIDE] How to access Service Mode and enable HD VOICE on Lollipop GPE

Hello,
Samsung devices feature an awesome tool called Samsung Service Mode (SSM) where you can monitor and control stuff about the mobile network. It shows basic info about the current network like technology, band, channel, channel width, audio codec, cell speed etc... and it can also let you lock to a particular technology or band and enable HD VOICE that should be on by default.
On TW ROMs this is easily accessible via the dialer with the code *#0011#, on 4.4.X GE ROMs you needed to flash the SSM apk and launch it via an app. On 5.0 GE those methods won't work but the apk is still there and working and can be accessed via secret codes.
How to open SSM
1) Install Shortcut Master from the google play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.shortcutmaster&hl=en
2) Open the app and navigate to Secret Code Explorer and filter by "system apps" and look for "0011" from Service Mode RIL and favorite it using "root required"
This is the main screen with info about the network
How to enable HD VOICE
1) repeat step 1 and 2 but choose code "197328640"
2) to check if HD VOICE is on click on "WB-AMR STATUS" (which a sound codec) and see if it says "ON" on every setting, otherwise go back and enable it via "WB-AMR SETTINGS".
3) reboot your phone
To see if it actually works depending on your carrier and cell tower just place a call to someone you're sure it should work with and open SSM and see if says AMR-WB <bitrate> during the call.
I attached a sample during a call where it shows that I'm currently on 3G Band 1 (2100Mhz) in active data state (DCH) with DC-H support (42mbit) and the call is HD VOICE (AMR-WB 12.65 Kbit).
The code to lock to a particular band is "2263".
Hope it helps :good:

I honestly doubt that would make a difference, as far as I know no carrier supports HD VOICE on GSM.

Same to me: I am able to enter the Service Mode, but the lower part of the page is blank...
A few days ago I have downgraded from GNK4 bootloader and modem to GNJ5. Maybe it's because of that?
Yours is working just fine. The lower part is blank because at the moment HD voice is only intended for 3G networks. On LTE is called VoLTE and I'm not sure if it's even currently supported.

I have the same issue, using Lollipop GPE (latest Danvdh) with a S4 using I9505XXUGNG8 modem.
Both screens are completely blank and HD Voice is not working.
Update: after flashing I9505XXUGNJ5 modem the ServiceMode screens are now working.
When checking the status in an active call I see that HD Voice is being used.
what about the SGH-M919? we can't mix and match modems can we? Plus, where do I find the SMM apk?
sir in service mode i do the commands for network unlock .. but now any sim card i enter it shows invalid sim i change the settings SHA256 ENABLED FLAG 1
SHA256 OFF SHA256 ON
but again it shows invalid sim.. please tell me the solution for this soon

I found a video that got to the WB-AMR setting using some more funky "Key Input" of "Q" then "0000" to get to the UMTS menu.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uT48bsq0sG0
But unfortunately, when you tap on the "Audio" settings, nothing happens!
Darn, so close...
I wonder if a SIM unlocked phone will enable the "AUDIO" setting?

Couldn't find Mobile Network Type

Hello, Recently I have bought an Unlocked At&T LG G3 The seller told me that the phone has a bad IMEI But it's unlocked to be used interntionally. When I received it, It's working fine, except the data network speed trough EDGE is too slow. As yo can see on the screenshot below I couldn't find the option to change the network type. and I'm stuck at "E" which mean EDGE.
http://s14.postimg.org/8r7vs0x27/Quick_Memo_2015_09_09_11_41_43_1.png
The phone's model is LG-D850 and it's running android 4.4.2 KitKat. it has no IMEI when I dial *#06# it shows IMEI: 0-05 on Settings/about phone/Status... it says IMEI: 0
Anyone here to help?
First, here are the possible reasons why you don't have an IMEI:
The phone was reported lost or stolen in the past.
The phone is still active on the owner's wireless carrier account.
There is money owed on the wireless carrier account to which the ESN/MEID/IMEI is connected.
For the reasons above, this community does not support such devices and you will probably not get any help.
But, this can also happen during a bad flash, so to fix the issue, you have 3 options:
Reset, unroot, then root and flash again
Try the suggested steps in this video
Find a company that can fix the problem by sending the phone to them

Thanks for your reply, I'm not seeking to restore the IMEI. I just want to have the option to switch mobile network type. Should I root the phone and install a custom ROM?

My bad, thought you wanted the IMEI back. In that case, the E (edge) is showing up could be due to Maroc Telecom throttling your connection or their towers could be far way (happens when you travel cross country too). Anyway, if you want to fiddle with network settings and try to get it to work BEFORE attempting to flash any ROM, try the following [3845#*855# 3845#*850#] USSD code from your stock dialer. You will get a hidden menu containing a juicy list of options and settings, so what you are probably looking for is the "LTE-Only" option (I am not sure though, but you can look through the settings).
And as always, attempt the suggestions AT YOUR OWN RISK.

I'm living at a major city, here the 4G works great. So yeah I have to change the mobile network type since it is on EDGE by defaut I guess.
I attemted the USSD code however it says "connection problem or invalid mmi code" after I hit dial. I have also tried a bunch of codes before but no luck.
I think I will falsh the phone that's the option left. I just have rooted the phone, then I will install TWRP and I will try to flash a ROM in it. What do youu suggest me to use from those ROMs posted here ?

I haven't flashed any custom ROMs on my LG, but from experience, each device somehow reacts differently to custom ROMs. For instance, I've flashed my S.G. Note (i717) over 30 times and some ROMs were stable at first then started having issues with them.
The best advice I can give you, is to pick a ROM from the list you posted and check the comments to see if it is stable or too many users have issues with it.

[HOW-To] Manual Program (SPR&VZW)

Well, Over the last few days I've seen more and more reports of "no service" and "unknown" service issues. Where you cant make or recieve calls, or text, and you are only getting data on lte.
" This will work to manual program a vzw phone also if you choose the one that has VZW.only in its name"
The LG LS997 V20 seems to have lost the ability to edit your PTN and MSID under ##786# method, and ive verified they also removed
##6DigitMSL# code. This eliminated the usual route to manually program your phone and get talk and text back without the network sending a update.
Heres the fix
Download Shortcut Master Lite From the playstore
Link here :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.shortcutmaster.lite
and once downloaded you need to go to the search option and search
iot.cdmasettings
Then you need to click Launch on that one you searched..
Click:
CDMA PREFERENCES
Then:
NAM settings
Then Enter these things
MDN = Your Phone number
HOME SID = 4139
MCC = 310
MNC = 00
MIN2 = YOUR AREA CODE
MIN1 = MSID ( need to get from sprint or sprint.com chat ask for msid )
IMSI_MCC - 310
IMSI_MNC = 00
S2 = 000
S1 = 0001370
then back out and let it reboot,
for some this is a soft fix, for some this may be all you needed- it dosn't address the full issue, but this will at-least get you started to recovery.
Confirmed this worked on my LS997. Awesome Dev took several hours out of his day to troubleshoot this and get a fix.
screenshots added ++++ sorry text is small, i had to remove my personal info from the photos. Just use photos as reference for the text in op!
Hope this helps a few out, im still working on finding a 100% resolution to why this even came out as a issue. I'm almost certain your modem is NOT the issue, but a issue with provisioning and the way your phone is getting updated/or received a bad update
please continue to provide feedback and info related to when this 1st happens so i can figure out the main source.

Def worth the time man. You made it 10x easier being direct and following the info to the T.
EXACTLY what needed to be done for a positive resolution!
:good:
you can also go to the same place by searching msl.
and clicking the bottom one of the 2 that show up, click edit, and put in your ptn click okay the the full msid then okay. once done you need to reboot.
I don't think I'm having any issues other than I seem to experience more areas where I lose service than I did before I rooted.
When I searched for iot.cdmasettings - nothing came up.
I then searched for cdmasettings and again nothing came up.
I then searched for iot and a bunch of stuff came up. I noticed the 2nd. item from the top had iot/cdmasettings so I clicked that one.
My S1 is 0000375
I wonder if MSID is the same as MSL?

i would clean install version 6.5 phh
the majority of us are running it now.
Its stable and soild, and will pass safetynet,
im unsure why you dont have the hidden menu stuff, 6.5 phh should.
update to that and see if its any better.
we may need to get people to backup their radio and see what ones work better.
im on the oldest radio
I made a mistake. I was going to install F but ended up going with J.
6.5 PHH is all downloaded. I'll give it a try.
Thank You very much.
Can u check which version has the stuff to manually program 6.5 phh when i search and find iot.cdmasetting and hit launch in shortcut master it does nothing...

? both 6.5 versions have root, you must be dirty flashing or doing something else.
2 versions of 6.5 bud.
phh root witch is built into magisk,
and supersu root witch is a seperate app.
5.5 and 6.5 both are exactly the same, minus using magisk manager.
I didn't download phh app but it wouldn't request root on 6.5 so I just used a back up

Didn't need any apps. Its built into magisk for root.
Thats the build im using as my daily. Root takes a min to setup as the 1st 15min after boot its still optimizing and doing commands.
Im 100% sure the no calls and text bug comes from using a aosp rom and changing nv info. Knocked me off service all day and didnt know.
Lost my ptn and my msid
Also got hit with a error code 16 and had to speak to the networks solution dept.
Maybe a tad bit more help...
I followed every step the only issue I've noticed is I can now make calls but only when I turn roaming on. If I just connect to the sprint network I get data but it says mobile network unavailable when trying to make a call. Any ideas?

Thats why, try a update prl and see if it changes. Do it on wifi if it dosnt work try on lte/3g
162 is not a sprint prl
you need PRL 54022 or 54xxx
any version really 54 whatever will work.
if prl update wont change it the only other idea would be
##diag# put into diag mode and use a tool like cdma workshop or similar to push the prl to your phone.
[email protected] is my hangouts email. We can speak more about this but talking about NV items and the tools that work with them
is a grey area on xda. I can not share my version of cdma workshop as its a paid for version linked only to my pc. There are free versions and tutorials out there on how to connect to a phone in diag mode and use cdma workshop or any other es tool to do the prl push

Hotspot on the s7 edge oreo (sprint)

Hey folks, since the oreo update I lost any hotspot or tethering in my s7 edge.
I was really frustrated about it. I went into research about the topic and I didn't find any solution for my issue. After watching a couple of videos on YouTube, the result was the same , but I got an idea and turned out working
Steps:
I download an app in playstore which is quickshort maker.
2 - once you got the app , click on it and write hotspot , you will get two options service mode and settings. Select settings
3- after selecting setting , it will give three options , select the second one, setting hotspot.
4- then you will get some options that doesn't really matter just click on try and the option of hotspot will launch.
Sorry for any inconvenience with my telling , this is the first time I'm writing something here or in any place. I hope it can work for you.
No sucess i have same problem with yours and tried your method .. when i click try its only shows blank screen.

Hello there , it seems to me that you chose the wrong option in the process.
It has to be the option option the one that only shows mobile hotspot.

I have tried to made a shortcut but nothing seems to work. So , you will have to make the process or you add that shortcut to your favorites inside the app.
It looks like sprint disabled the option from the setting in oreo. I guess they don't want us to tethering. Best of luck. I'm happy is working for you as well.
