When I'm taking pictures with the camera, is there a way for the phone to save them to the micro SD card rather then the internal memory?
Yes. Camera settings, change data storage to SD Card.
To add some more detail:
In the camera app press the three dots for settings then the third tab (tools icon) and scroll down to Data storage. Change that to SD Card.

I have a 16 GB storage card (~ 8 GB free) in the side of my device and I noticed today while fooling around with the camera settings that the "number of pictures remaining" that shows up in the upper right hand corner when you hit the menu tab is significantly less than if I have 'internal memory' selected as my save location in settings. I don't understand it. The ~ 8 GB is a good bit more free space than my internal memory. I fooled around with the enabling DCIM reg key, changing storage locations, etc. but nothing seems to affect it. Pict quality settings certainly increase the change of remaining picts but the increase is porportional across the storage card and internal memory.
Anyone else notice that setting the storage card 'caps' the number of picts or know why this is?

I am having a very similar issue. I just purchased a 8gb sdhc class 2 card. when I first put it in; the camera said I had approx 8000 pics remaining.. Then I added music and some programs {total less than 4gb} so in theroy I should still have half as many pics available to take {approx4000}, It says now I only have 136 pics left available!!
I notice this thread was started back in Nov with only one responce. I hope someone out there can help..
Thanks

hello.
I have a strange issue with Samsung Xcover 2 GT-S7100.
After changing the sd card a lot of apps dissapear. They won't show up even after reboot.
I use Link2SD. need some help.
In the picture you can see how some apps are shown here. 3 row, 4th column.
I've been having an issue where all of a sudden my internal memory is filled and I can't open a lot of programs due to low memory. And my gallery and music will be filled with blank duplicates of all my pics and music from my sd card onto my internal storage. All's I have to do is reformat my usb storage and it wipes it all out. That' seemed to be the fix for a while. But now, when I open my camera, it freezes up for a few minutes, and once the camera finally does start to work, is when the all the files are duplicated back into my memory. Anybody have a solution for this?

That's cm's overlay fix for cameras. You've just described every issue that it has at the moment. Which ROM are you on?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T769 using Tapatalk
I'm not sure about which Rom. Its stock running 4.0.4 if that helps. Otherwise how do I find that? So does that mean there's a fix for it?
Help needed.
My LG G5 has bootloader unlocked, TWRP installed, Unlocked, Rooted on Magisk, Rom H83020F deoxed, Asgard 4.1 kernal.
I put in an 128 gb memory card and in storage I selected the option to format the internal SD card to be used as internal storage (adoptable storage).
Here are some problems I have been experiencing.
I like to share images from QuickPic Gallery or default gallery to Whatsapp. However, this will not work on my LG G5 phone.
I select the image share to Whatsapp then the Whatsapp is supposed to show the image prior to sending but it just shows a black screen then it says sharing failed.
Also, I place some app icons on the two home screens and then when I restart the phone the app icons are gone and I have to add those again.
I try to edit images with my QuickPic app and it just sits there and spins an hour glass and doesn't crop the image.
What could be causing these weird behaviors? I never had these issues on my Samsung phones.
Also, When I had a Samsung I was able to enable adoptable storage for only a percentage of the memory card following the "mixed option" here
Is this possible for the LG G5?
Nobody else having this issue?

The apps that won't stay on the screen in a restart are the ones that I moved to the SD card internal storage.
The apps installed on the phones built in internal memory do stay in screen.
Any fixes for this issue?
I am having a strange issue from time to time, where the camera flashes to take a photo, and the photo shows up on the little thumbnail in the bottom left.
However, when I open the gallery, it turns out the photos didn't save, and they're not in the phone's internal storage. When I restart my phone, it starts saving again.
This is, of course incredibly frustrating, as I've lost some important photos that I thought were saved, including a recent holiday.
Has anyone had this happen? Is there a solution? Would using a third party camera app help?
Edit: I'm not using an SD card. Just internal storage.

Seems it hasn't storage permission or something is breaking that. Are you completely stock?
Backup your data, do a factory reset and install app one by one, to see if any app is breaking that.
That's very weird
