Hello friends,
Presenting my first App - AutoCon
AutoCon will turn off the connections when screen goes off and turn them back on when screen turns on - Saves battery by turning off connections when you don't need them, Saves data usages. You can still be connected to internet by activating networks periodically when screen remains off!
AutoCon helps user to control the connections like Data, WiFi, Bluetooth with the activities of screen. This will prevent the unwanted usages of the network connections which leads to improve battery life!
Basic Principle :
It has been observed that the internet connections (WiFi and Data) are one of the primary reasons of battery drain. Also they consume battery when user don't need them. Typically users keep the mobile always connected to internet but majority of users don't require the always-on connection, but its sufficient for them to connect to internet when required.
Its painful for user to turn on the connection when needed and turn it off when done. Here comes AutoCon.
AutoCon will turn off the connections when screen goes off and turn them back on when screen turns on!
Also for countries like India where mobile data plans are still expensive, AutoCon will prevent the exes usages of mobile data by disabling it when its not required.
Main Features :
- Control Data, WiFi and Bluetooth connections
- Turn Off the connections when screen goes off
- Turn On connections when screen turns on
- Supports configuration of intervals after which connections are to be turned on/off when screen goes on/off
- Periodically activate connections in background (say every 1 hour, configurable) when screen is off so that user will not be totally disconnected
- Disable WiFi when its not connected to any network
- Disable mobile data when WiFi is connected
- Time Range: Connections will stay off in given time range (say at night 11 pm to 6 am, I don't want AutoCon to enable connections when I unlock the screen)
- When a particular app is running, do not disconnect when screen is off (for example I am speaking on Viber, so I want data to remain connected always even though screen is off)
- Everything is configurable - every interval, every setting.

I had an idea how to save power.
How it works is that it would run in the background of the phone.
By default WiFi is turned off, however when an app requires some form of data connection, the WiFi app recognises this and turns on the WiFi.
If a WiFi network is near and you already have the password stored in the phone it connects to the network.
If a WiFi network is near and you dont have the password stored it prompts you with a popup. If you cancel the popup, WiFi gets turned off.
This way power can be saved so WiFi doesn't have to always be on and only gets turned on when needed.
Possible? What you think?
Juicedefender does this. It will cut off your WIFI if it's not around known networks. I think you have to buy ultimatejuice (it's worth it).
Hey, everyone. Here's a small app I made for myself and figured I might as well post it for anyone else who may want it. It's fully free, and does not track any of your information (which some similar apps out there required permissions I didn't view as necessary for this kind of app, and therefor a little fishy). I made the app to be a convenience thing and battery saver (I only want my wifi adapter to be on at home, and not turn back on again at work), so I'm open to any feature requests people may have to make it more convenient for you.
I call it Auto Wifi, here's a Play store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.psiincgames.autowifi
Going on the description I wrote for the Play Store:
Auto Wifi controls the wifi on your phone for you, turning it on and off as needed. This is both convenient and saves you battery life. Want to have your wifi turn on at home, but not at school or work? We can do that for you.
You have full control over how it will work, with control over everything from the scan interval times to which wifi ssid's to connect to. The optional notification setting helps keep Auto Wifi open in the background, and is as non-intrusive as possible. We hate unnecessary notifications just as much as you do.
It operates using 3 selectable modes:
"Auto on, auto off" - this mode will shut your wifi off when no signal nearby saved access point is detected, and turns it on whenever any wifi access point you've connected to before is nearby.
"Selective on, auto off" - this mode will only automatically turn your wifi on when your device can connect to an access point from a list that you select. Great for when you want your phone to connect to wifi at home but not at school or work. It will only shut your wifi off automatically when it isn't connected to anything, so you can still manually turn on your wifi without disruption.
"Auto off only" - lastly, this mode will only automatically turn wifi off, so you can have full manual control over when it turns back on again.
Description of permissions required:
"Run at startup" - as the name implies, this is needed so we can start Auto Wifi at device start up.
"Access Network State" and "Access Wifi State" - these are needed so we can check if you are connected to a wifi network. This lets us know when to turn wifi on or off, otherwise known as the 'Auto' part of Auto Wifi.
"Change Wifi State" - this is required so we can actually turn your wifi adapter on and off for you, otherwise this app would be pointless.
Hi guys!
WiFi Auto Connect is an application help you automatically connect to WiFi networks and stop WiFi connection. WiFi Connect on/off fills the identification form with your id and submit the form as soon as your device connects to a configured WiFi network.

Use Wi-Fi+
The Honor 9 comes with many features to help your phone save time and resources. One of my favorite is Wi-Fi+. This enhanced WiFi system provides three key features that will make you have a better internet experience.
Switch Between WiFi and Mobile Data
Evaluate Wi-Fi connectivity and switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data for the best network connection. This may increase data usage.
Turn on/off WiFi Automatically
Turn on Wi-Fi when in range of a known Wi-Fi network and connect to it.
Evaluate available Wi-Fi networks
Automatically evaluate network connectivity and suspend auto-connect for saved networks that cannot connect to the internet.
When I'm going for a long drive and maybe listening to music, I'll turn my Wi-Fi off to save battery. When I get home, I don't have to worry about forgetting to reconnect to save my data. My Wi-Fi will automatically turn back on and get me connected. This is my favorite feature of Wi-Fi+
Definitely turn this feature on while you are using your Honor 9.
Not sure quite where to ask this, and searching for apps hasn't turned up exactly what I want. I just need something to provide an ongoing log (ideally with a graphical view too) of the times that my phone is properly connected to WiFi (and ideally to which SSID) and the times it is only connected to mobile data.
I think I'm getting intermittent dropouts on my home wi-fi on some devices, but I need to set up some logging over time to get more specific details. Just a nice coloured graph of wifi vs. mobile data connections over a week or two of testing would be perfect.
