[Q] bluetooth connectivity issues between one plus one and my car(2012 bmw 328i) - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had same issues with my nexus 5. I bought one plus one thinking that I would not have those issues. but i was wrong.
I can pair my phone with my car but it disconnects after a minute or so. It will try to reconnect and disconnect again. it goes on until i disable my bluetooth on my phone.
it is very annoying. does anyone know if there is a way to fix it. I am on latest release 38R.

Ask bmw if there's an update for your system.

Have you tried a different ROM, such as Slimkat?
I have ALWAYS had issues connecting my Nexus 4/Nexus 5 to my STI when running any version of CM10/CM11. Switching away from Cyanogenmod solved the Bluetooth connectivity issues with both phones. Slimkat has been the most flawless on my Nexus 5.
My OnePlus One arrives early next week and I plan on immediately rooting/installing Slimkat for this reason. CM11 has had bluetooth connectivity/streaming issues since day 1 and the Cyanogen team has shown absolutely no interest in fixing it in every single new release. It's quite frustrating really.

My OPO (38R) don't work with connected drive. I can go to the internet but BMW online don't work (the request page not found).
It's don't work with LTE but it work if my OPO have and WIFI connection... I try with another rom (slim kat and CM11) and I have the same issues.
BMW online work very nice with my SIII with HDSPA connection.
Only BMW online doesn't work, I can play music in bluetooth, phone with the car and go to the internet. :crying:

i had an issue with BT w my nexus 5 when running CM11 on it with my Audi, but seems like no issues with 33R for me... or 38R for that matter. so not sure sorry

Maybe it's my operator...

Bluetooth issues in ICS? Post your problems and solutions!

Hey guys, I'm sure a lot of you are already on one of the ICS roms already. First of all hail all devs who have made our life better before official releases!
However I have seen posts talking about them experiencing Bluetooth problems just like I am right now and mostly mentioning the Music player stuttering and similar issues like that.
My problem is a little different. My aftermarket car deck worked perfectly with all the phones I have connected to, including my GB i727. However after I flashed the ICS my bluetooth connection kept dropping out randomly. Starting with the deck not auto connecting when I get in the car. Then after I manually connect "Phone" in the menu, it will MOST LIKELY disconnect after (on average) 2 minutes with the "Media" still checked (although the connection is not shown on either the icon in the status bar or the display of the deck). Weirdest thing is, sometimes it actually keeps on working after it connects.
I didn't think that would be a problem for me because I don't use Bluetooth earphones and I use my iPod instead of my phone to play music in my car. So I even disabled my Holo Music and my Google Play... I'm on Sean's SKY ICS 4.2D
I am just wondering if bluetooth misfunctioning is a common problem on all current ICS roms for our i727 or is it just the rom I am on right now? Because I drive a Manual car, the hand free in the car is actually very needed for me. So spread your wisdom on the bluetooth issues please!
Thank you!
my jvc car radio doesn't work at all with bluetooth sense updating to sky I c s. The stock I c s leak seemed to work pretty well however. Now the phone vibrates as if it's going to force close then disconnects the bluetooth within seconds of connecting every time.
Strangely, the radio does continue to play for a few minutes even though the radio and phone both say the device is disconnected. All kinds of weirdness going on here! I am going back to the stock leak as soon as I have time to reinstall all my apps for the millionth time.
On a side note, my monster bluetooth speakers seem to work flawlessly with all the roms i have tried. Seems I need an exterminator as I am over run with bluetooth bugs!
I am a programer. I wish I had the time to work on these and help develop these roms. The developers here are some truly talented and generous folks! After finals next week, I will try to devote some of my time to helping out this community which I gain so much from. Thanks to all of you guys! I can't wait until cm9 is in beta/release stage! That will be a dream come true!

You should try his bluetooth fixes in the op. I had about the same problem and bluetooth fix 2 resolved it. YMMV

Yep, same isdues.
Tried many things but nothing.
It worked, still does only on sky ice update 6, but the phone does not deep sleep, that's the problem so can't keep using that.
Hope official rogers will fix it.

Same here.
JVC KW-XR810 car stereo running updated firmware.
Bluetooth crashes almost immediately and the phone buzzes.
I use bluetooth for playing pandora or internet radio.
UCALC worked perfectly.
UCLD2 is where problems started for me.
I've tried both fixes listed in the SkyICS thread.

Hi
My problem with Bluetooth is pairing to the car auduo. The phone can see the device, recognizes the type and tries to pair, but after putting a code I get a connection refused error. Previously worked with stock and custom 2.x.x rooms. From is now a 4.0.4 one.
Any ideas/suggestions?
Solved by replacing Bluetooth.apk to 4.0.1 found at androidforums
Works fine in my Cayman S

Bluetooth is finally fixed for me in CM10.1. No more Bluetooth Keep Awake. No more hassle of disconnects.

Hi guys,
I have found in other forum, and it's working for me.
Break connection between car and S3, and delete devices both in car and phone.
Now try to pair them again but don't let car system to access contact and data in phone.
After I did this my connection is stable.
Guy who suggested this believes that Samsung sends too much data ( all accounts data)and car system freezes).
Hope this works for you too

My Touch 4g and the ELM 327 interface for OBDII data - BT compatible ROMs?

I've been cruising on cyanogenmod 7.1 for about 2 years now, and since the auto store no longer reads OBD II codes for customers, I decided to purchase one of the $10 Bluetooth ELM 327 devices off ebay, and use the Tourque app to read the data from my car.
The app works great, but it only works if you have a notification pop up asking to pair with the device, and I've only been able to get BT to work with this device so far with a 4.2.2 ROM --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2204963 (only JB one I've tried). The other ICS ROM's I've tried so far along with CM 7.1 just won't connect. Has anyone else found a good ROM that works, or a way to trigger a bluetooth notification?
Basically, I turn on Bluetooth in all the ROMs, it detects the device, I select the device, and it says "Paired but not Connected" If you long press or hit the gear symbol, the only option is to "unpair". Pairing with other phones works perfectly fine, but with this device the option/notification to connect never comes up.
Anyone know of any ROMS prior to Jellybean that work with similar BT devices? .. Dunno if there is a way to trigger a notification; I do like JB, but once everything I need is working, my #1 goal is then responsiveness.
Any ideas/insights/experiences are much appreciated.
Have you tried any Sense roms?
Well, as it turns out, after I did a complete wipe, and was trying cyanogenmod 7.2 out, I was able to connect..... in fact, I'm able to connect on good ole 7.1 as well, and mytouchUXv3... which I didn't want to uninstall- seemed to have a snappier ui. I have no idea why I was unable to connect yesterday, but on whatever ROM i've tried today, if I start bluetooth, then run the torque app, then go back to the bluetooth app with the torque app running, and select pair/unpair/pair/unpair, it connects pretty soon. *scratches head*
One reason I stick to cm 7.1 is that I've read of many users experiencing diminished battery life with cm 7.2

Yeah I've read the battery life thing too.
What do we lose if we stick to 7.1 instead of 7.2

I've been using CM10.1 for the past year and have had sucess with my Bluetooth OBD II reader.
Here is the ROM I have been using. The camera is a bit slow on this ROM but other than that I love it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2204963
Just to confirm, it ALSO works well with Vipertouch 2.1.4.
Buddy of mine passed me his cheap ELM ODB II Bluetooth unit, (he could not connect to it, since he had some chinese S3 knockoff phone).. Worked perfectly first time.
Paired no problem, and connected using Torque Pro and read quite a few of the sensors on my honda without an issue.
Thanks to all the devs for keeping these older phones alive..

[Q] Bluetooth carkit issues

I always owned an "Android" phone (nexus, nexus 4, s4).
And always rooted it and installed numerous custom roms.
Last month is made a switch to a iphone 5s.
Although everything works, i am missing something.
This is the reason i bought a nexus 5.
With the help of this forum i always managed to fix (work around) any issues.
But now i do need your help.
Received my nexus 5 last week, and loving it already.
Directly rooted it and installed custom roms.
But......
I do have a problem with bluetooth and connecting to my carkit (Opel Insignia DVD9000.
Installed multirom, to try different roms (cyanogenmod, slimkat, and several others.)
Most of the times the phone will connect to my carkit, but will not read the phonebook.
Did search here already, any of the solutions given (apps or other tips), did not work for me.
Even restored the originial rom, and unrooted the device, didn't fix it.
Is this a nexus 5 problem, or a kitkat problem ?
Today i installed the latest nightly of cyanogenmod.
But that did not fix the problem at all.
Wouldn't even connect.
After that i installed latest franco kernel, and...........
It works.
No problems connecting, it even reads my phonebook.
Same for The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV
Nexus 5 and the new LRX21 on my Nexus 5 now, and it will not pair anymore with my Radio in the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.
4.4.4 no problems at all....
what has happend with Bluetooth in Android 5.0

Strange Bluetooth Connectivity Issue

I have a gogroove flexsmart x3 that i use for bluetooth streaming in my car. It originally pairs just fine. Now whats supposed to happen is after the original pairing has been done, it should automatically connect once i start my car again. However on my nexus 5 I have to press the "unpair" button and then resync the two devices again. (as in have my nexus 5 search for my flexsmart x3).
this has happened on stock and every custom rom i've tried so far. this issue doesn't occur on my galaxy s4 or iphone 4s.
If you can help me then thanks!

Same exact issue happened to me. Can you provide us with some more information. Has the device been rooted ? Custom rom or custom kernel.

Wifi - phone or router?

Every couple of minutes my N5 disassociates then reassociates itself with my router (BT HomeHub 4). Have tried wifi fixer app, setting static ips and replacing router and changing wifi channels . Other devices connected to router are fine so can only assume issues lie with the phone given the wider wifi issues around connecting to saved wifi spots and download speeds etc. I don't have these problems just these constant drop outs and reconnections. Am running CM nightlies and Elemental-X kernel. What would give the best hope of a fix. New Rom/kernel/radio/data wipe or all four? Or does my problem lie with the router? Any advice welcome as it is really irritating - particularly as I get no mobile service at home! Thanks

i hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the Nexus 5 has been plagued with this wifi issue since i believe 4.4.1. Hopes are that google will release 4.4.3 with a fix for the issue, but no word yet. As of right now there is no fix for the wifi problem :/
Thanks. Did a wipe and moved from CM to AICP. Still got the issue so help us 4.4.3, you're our only hope.

plagued? i have never had a problem with wifi.
what wifi type are you using? N? G? AC?
Try the common WiFi work arounds: setting your phone to only use 2.4Ghz (instead of 5Ghz or Auto) and toggling off the mobile data setting when using WiFi.
Well 4.4.3 seems to have made absolutely no difference.
Maybe it's faulty. If you've already tried another router there's not much else it can be. Try and get it repaired or swapped out.
I've not had a homehub 4, but never had Nexus specific issues with my HH 3 or 5.
