I'm on version 33r and wishes to update to 38r. Installed xposed framework and the modified lockscreen. Before flashing the zip,i uninstall xposed from the option in the app itself and flash the stock cm keyguard back in. However there is still an error when i flash the 38r zip. Can any kind souls advise?
It's to do with your keyboard. Have you modified it or changed it or something?

Oh i did install this lg g3 keyboard thing also. Didnt know it affects since previous OTAs went thru successfully. Any idea how to solve it? Can i flash the original 33r zip files to rectify it?
Yeah you can but you'll have to wipe probably.

It's best to wipe everything except the virtual sd card.

I've erased everything but TWRP recovery and fast boot. I need to install an operating system. I can use fast boot or boot into recovery. How can I get an operating system back on the phone?
The closest I've found is cm-11.0-XNPH25R-bacon-signed-fastboot_64GB.zip but I can't fast boot it or any of its components. Says there are no partition tables.
Is there a way to copy a zip file to the system that I can install in recovery?
Use an adb push command to send a ROM zip to your internal storage, then flash it.

I sent a ROM zip to internal storage, but it failed when updating partitions.
Exactly what did you do to bork your partitions?

Erased with TWRP-Dalvik Cache, System, Data, Internal Storage, and Cache.
That's it? That shouldn't bork your partition tables. Which ROM zip did you attempt to flash?

I have tried three: Slim-bacon-4.4.4.build.6.8-WEEKLY-5783.zip, cm-11.0-XNPH25R-bacon-signed-fastboot_64GB.zip, and cm-11.0-XNPH25R-bacon-signed-fastboot.zip
I don't think the last two are flashable in recovery, they're fastboot images. You said you're unable to flash those via fastboot, right?

Yes, I'll download and ADB another rom. TWRP does do some repairs.

Flashed mahdi-2.7-bacon-20140807.zip after a few TWRP repairs & factory reset and it has booted. Back in business. Thanks for your help.
Awesome, great news.

Hi guys!
Before the update, I was running 33R, with TWRP and franco kernel 22r.
The update came in, and I read franco kernel was not compatible.
Someone in the franco thread, ZephiK, posted two links.
The OTA update, and the stock kernel
I flashed those directly after each other, that worked, and after it booted (booted fine) I unlocked the device, and now
trebuchet is crashing constantly. I can't use the device now. I went back and flashed franco 23r aosp (that one does work with 38R) but that didn't fix it.
Do I have to do a factory reset, or does anyone have the golden solution?
I'd suggest a full wipe, then flashing one of the recovery flashable 33R zips from here, and then flashing the update. It's always best to go as clean as you can, otherwise problems like this occur.

So that would be like this:
fastboot update -w cm-11.0-XNPH33R-bacon-signed-fastboot.zip
No. That's a fastboot image zip. You need the recovery flashable zip from the link I posted.

So flash cm-11.0-XNPH33R-bacon-signed.zip in TWRP?
That seems doable
Sorry for the noob questions, I'm new to android.
Thanks for helping already!
You don't have to wipe for a OTA, even if you flash it... I always wipe dalvik and cache, just in case, but never a full wipe to clean install.
If all you had was a kernel it makes no difference, I flashed it over franco's aswell and it's all good.
Try flashing the update again? You have the link on the general page of the OPO. Look in the last page of the comments to find a mediafire link -> copy to OPO -> flash via recovery.
Yep, that's the one.

This will at the same time reflash the kernel to the stock kernel right?

By the way, the only requirement is being on 33 before flashing 38, as it is only incremental

Why are you telling me this? That isn't the only requirement at all. And it being incremental is irrelevant to what you need to do to make sure nothing goes wrong.

Thanks for the help, will flash after dinner and report back then!
Thanks again for helping a noob, I feel welcome here at xda
One last question, the standard wipe in TWRP is enough right?
Or do I have to do an advanced wipe? If yes, which options ticked?
Edit: Well, I whiped everything except internal storage and the USB thingy, and I am now on stock. Thanks for the help again!
How do i update the oneplus one directly from 25R to 38R or 44S? Is this possible? By recovery like TWRP? I'm currently running 25R. When i check for updates....no new updates seem to come.

If you want to use OTA updates you must take them in sequence (25R>30O>33R>38R>44S). You can take somewhat of a shortcut though. Clean flash the full 38R ROM zip from here:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95747613655046955
Then you can just apply the 44S update.

What timmaaa said works. Another option is to flash, http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/rom-stock-rooted-4-4-4-xnph44s-t2932551
It is OTA safe as indicated in the OP post and will give you XNPH44S as well as root (SuperSU)
One question from me. If he takes the factory image from zephiK, does this mean he wipes his data also?
Or is this only when flashing via adb?

What zephik posted isn't a factory image, that's Calkulin's stock rooted 44S ROM. No, user data is not wiped when flashing that.

So..... I have to flash via Twrp?

That is correct. The general idea is,
If you're coming from a ROM other than the ROM you're currently using: Wipe.
If you're coming from the same ROM but upgrading to a new version: No wipe, just flash the new zip. The only exception to this is if the OP says a wipe is required.
Thank you very much for your help.

You don't need root to flash a ROM, try with TWRP instead.

So i am now at CM12, I need to go back to O5Q , When i tried to flash thru a zip i found it was stuck at booting!.
Researched a bit and found that i cannot do it like that i need to flash the fast-boot images of the other build.
But my question is , Is there anyway i can do it without losing My Pictures and Songs?
Last time i lost them and it was a big pain in ass!!

Go to my guide thread:

Follow the instructions in section 8, just don't flash the userdata image and it won't touch your internal storage.

My phone suddenly reboot during WhatsApp. After reboot, Welcome screen appear like 1st time boot after flash new rom. I have to select language and everything. Need to update all default software that come with 11S. But if I reboot again, same thing happen like I explained above. Running on 44S and stock kernel.
Sounds like you have a corrupt data partition. Is your bootloader unlocked?

Yeah that was what I meant. Unfortunately I think you're going to need to wipe though because just installing the update doesn't fix the problem (corrupt data partition). I think you'll need to fully wipe your phone and start fresh. First you should copy any important photos, music, etc from your phone to your PC. Just connect your phone to your PC while you're in TWRP and you should be able to copy your media from the phone using Windows. Once you've done that, go to my guide thread and follow the instructions in section 8 to flash the stock images.

So it booted back up and ask your apps and settings were back to normal? That's really strange. I have no idea why/how that'd happen.
