hi, I'm italian then sorry my english
I have root permissions and i unistalled the stock messaging(aosp) apk because i have also hangout but i think that i have cleaned a system file because I can't sent sms in hangout in fact when i try to type a text message the application quits. I try to install message app from playstore and the problem is there too.
how can I fisx it?
Maybe not the solution you want, but this Modified Stock Messaging app should work:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-stock-messaging-sliding-ui-extra-t2825144
You can just re-flash (dirty flash) the whole rom, that's the easiest option.
In bocca al lupo,

Hi everybody. I'm italian, sorry for my bad english, I'm studying it and I haven't a perfect proficiency, and sorry if I put my thread in the wrong category. XD I've got a "little" problem with my Samsung Galaxy Y Pro...
I accidentally deleted mms.apk from /system/apps, and I don't know how to resolve this problem. I tried to use a substitute like "ICS Messaging Pro", but in absence of this file, the incoming messages aren't visualized, and I see them only one time, through "Popup Notifications".
Now, I found a mms.apk modded, but it's not for my phone, and it crashes every time I receive an sms, but now it saves the incoming messages in "ICS Messaging Pro".
Is there anybody that can send me mms.apk for my telephone?
I've got Gingerbread 2.3.6
Version of the firmware: B5510XXKK2
You can try go sms, handcent sms or any of those apks and it should work, if not, or if you still want the original apk, try asking for it in phone's forum, any user can pull it using adb or root explorer and give it to you... if that's the way, you'll have to push it into /system/app using adb or root explorer and setting permissions... but as I said, you can try another app like the ones I've mencioned avobe
Idk, I saw that without this file every messaging app I install gives the same problem: They don't save the incoming messages. I must wait for mms.apk ...

May be setting/applications/whatsup and delete data
Or use app like android assistant and delete cash
Or try to sign out then sign in again
Or Uninstall app then reinstall again
Send bug report to developer
Reboot after every attempt

I can't post in the development section so I post my problems here, sorry for that.
I flashed @Omar-Avelar's ROM over stock JB EU firmware but the 4.2 AOSP SMS app doesn't seem to be working for me. After I replaced it with deoxed Motorola's messaging.apk(deleted mms.apk and MmsDependencies.apk in /system/app/ in Omar ROM and set -rw-r--r--/644 permission for the newly copied Moto's messaging.apk at the same place) SMS could work again. Can anyone tell me whether my text messages were sent successfully according to the screenshot? Surely I never received any incoming messages as you see.
I really love the looking and some convenient features of the 4.2 AOSP SMS app but what should I do to have it work
BTW: In this ROM, Google voice search crashes when opened from either Google search widget or app drawer.
Screenshot doesn't show Motorola's SMS app...

Yes, screenshot in the OP shows what happened for the SMS app in Omar's ROM. Stock Motorola SMS app works like following screenshot:
I remember I get this one from you thanks by the way:laugh:

It's known issue. Some of people have problems with AOSP SMS app. If you read the whole thread with Omar's ROM you can find something about it. Nobody knows why does this problem appears.

Thanks for the information, I'll look further into it.
Has anyone got to the bottom of this yet? I have just installed Omar's latest ROM (3rd June) and I cannot receive texts. I tried installing shaftenberg's 'no limit' messaging mod instead but I cannot find the app - my old shortcut says app not installed and I cannot find it in launcher. The messaging.apk definitely exist because I can find it in root explorer or titanium backup. I know Omar gas hidden it somehow but nit sure how.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I really don't want to go back to the stock jb with moto blur. Thanks

You should have new shortcut in the list of apps. And try to search mms.apk or mmsdependencies.apk in your file explorer, that should be messaging .apk.
Hi guys,
Quick question... I got this phone three days ago... I rooted it mostly to delete some of the bloatware... The thing is, I tried to delete the apps on the system folders, but it won't allow it... It returns an error message saying it is not possible to delete the files...
Anyone knows why this is happening and if there's a workaround?
Thanks!!!

why uninstall system applications,it is not recommended either one developers that is risky.
try this application work good.Make sure the app you are going to uninstall is not a system app.
Code:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=zsj.android.systemappremover&hl=en
install and Open Root app delete on your android phone and,Tap on System apps and tap on Pro when prompted to choose from Junior or Pro mode.
Scroll through the list of system apps and tap on any of the apps which you want to be removed from your phone.
Next tap on Uninstall to remove the unwanted app and again tap on OK to confirm your selection.
In case the app cannot be remove properly, you will see the following error. Tap on OK and then tap on #1 to force uninstall the app.
Now the unwanted app / bloatware will be removed from your android phone.
What!!!!!!!??!????

What version are you running? How did you get root?
Hi guys...
First of all, the "What???" wasn't meant for this post, for some strange reason when I replied on another forum post it did here... I'm really sorry about that...
Anyway... The phone was bugging and the root wasn't working right, that's why I wasn't able to delete the apps... I wasn't trying to delete system apps, but things like Google+ which I don't use at all...
Anyway, I'm on a D2306 from Brazil... I flashed the 4.4.2 global to get rid of the carrier apps, but I probably did something wrong while flashing and rooting it, so it was't working... I reflashed it yesterday and did the root again and it worked flawlessly...
I deleted the integrated apps I don't use and the phone is perfect now...
Thanks for all the help...
That's first thing I also do after rooting. There is so much delivered with the phone, and not few of it completely useless to me.
I think the advice not deleting system apps, hmmm .... what is a system app? Sony Home? SystemUI ? Or Google+, Gmail, Maps, Sony Select, ... all in system and unremovable without root. I understand that we need to be protected from doing harm to the phone we bought. But still I think the phone should come with a kind of admin function or semi-root to remove what is not needed. As it is it has more the smell of forcing people to using certain things.
For other apps I have different needs than what is supplied. I am lucky I can change things. As examples, for email I can use a normal email program such as K9, for sms I can use an sms messenger that actually does give repeat notifications, such as Evolve, QuicPic to me is the superior Album at 1/10 of the size, for navigation and maps I use Mapfactor bcs it has real offline navigation, and so on and on.
Hello XDA readers.
I have a favour that is how... (legally) can I change my phone's stock notification sound for all apps (like Whatsapp, 9GAG notification) ? I'm still stuck with the "Heaven nearby" tone that I can't change (there's no option for it)
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B4oOYQXQ5YyIY19qMlFQdmZNTzQ/edit?usp=docslist_api
My phone is rooted so what .obb files should I replace? Is it risky?
No need to question, I tried the messaging ringtone option and the damn thing doesn't even work.
Please I want to mod my phone further without flashing. Any tips is HIGHly appreciated.
