Hello.
Right now as I am typing this message, the source files for Cyanogenmod 11.0 are being synced to my computer, and I am trying to make a build for our device. I have a few questions though that would affect my development:
1) On a guide I was reading (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2060017), it says "MAKE SURE YOUR PHONE IS ON OFFICIAL LATEST CYANOGENMOD ROM". But trebon isn't officially supported. Would it still work if I put in trebon, or do I need to do other steps?
2) Do I have to code something after downloading the Android sources, or do I just have to build it instantly?
Any help on these would be greatly appreciated. I'm willing to create a ROM for our device if I can get the help I need, since I have nothing better to do anyway.
Thanks!

2) What's the minimum RAM requirement for Cyanogenmod? If OmniROM or AOKP is lighter, I would switch sources.

EDIT: After doing some research, I switched to AOKP instead of Cyanogenmod 11 because it is lighter. Apparently, according to the Cyanogenmod 11 Google+ post, they require a minimum of 512MB RAM, which our phone does not have. Syncing right now is AOKP source code. If some people would like to help me make a build, I would appreciate it if you would answer the questions above.

me :good:.. i want to help
Thanks, Androidoo.
To anyone who wonders, I got some help from @streambinder and right now I just finished downloading the Cyanogenmod 11 sources. I'll be whipping up a new build within the week and would love to have other users test it out for me (if I ever get to finish it). I've been using TheWhisp's sources for Cyanogenmod 11 for Galaxy Mini and when the ROM I built goes live, I'll be sure to upload it here and give him credits for his sources.
I need a little help here, possibly from @giugiu19 @smartandroidtech @streambinder

I think you must refer this guide as it is much more detailed.

If you have any question then you can ask the OP of that guide.

Thanks kk9999gada! I'll take a look at that.
Success! I've managed to make a build with no errors.
I'll be testing this now, and if all goes well, expect a release soon!

It's finals week in the university, so I'm putting it on hold. On Friday I will resume development. I have a logcat ready here and I'm studying it to figure out the problem. I'm 99% sure this is a problem with the kernel, probably a broken module.
If anyone's interested, I have a working copy of the ROM, but WiFi and Camera doesn't work yet. If you want I can upload the ROM. I'm doing a project for school right now. After I finish (in about 1 more hour), I'll upload some screenshots of my ROM.
Here are the screenshots of the ROM I built:

good news
Thanks man we are waiting
Hi KK,
I'm using your GB-rom from tabletrepublic at the moment. Good luck at building a CM7 for the Teclast P76ti. Can wait (but will).
is hardware acceleration working? and hdmi out? Do you flash with CWM?
I was hoping to see CM9 for this tablet at some point but CM7 will be a massive improvement over stock rom anyway. thanks man. Very happy about this. and if I can lend a hand, please let me know.

No, I am using my rom utility at the moment but will work on CMW at a later stage. Its not difficult to get it working but its not a priority.
Well, 2D and 3D acceleration is "working" as per antutu but I have not done any real testing so I cant really say. There are a few more graphics libraries to be ported though. hardware codecs still need more work as I have not look into it.
hdmi is definitely not working as I have not worked on it yet. Well, I guess a reasonable usable beta version might be out soon for testing.

maurimauri,
Could you help to run antutu 2.5.4 on your rom(is it the stock rom?) and provide the result?
And possible to provide the clean boot logcat log file as well?
Yes, it's 3.03 stock firmware.
Here are the results!
Hope this helps

could you change anther download link?
i am very hard to download
you know where am i ~
Hi KK, just to let you know that I have been trying to download the CWM file for a couple of days now, but it seems to always fail to download after about 1 to 2 Mb. Not so sure what's up with filefactory
yeah, i want to give a test very much. But it seems download link is broken.
Noted the feedback on filefactory and indeed the download performance is very bad. I will upload it to mediafire which hopefully will help. On another note, I do have the intention to delay a little bit since I am in the mist of getting the romkit to work.
Perhaps, the romkit can be used in the future to download new release of rom.

beta should be out soon as there are some loose end to be tighten up. note though that it will still be beta with lots of bugs though very usable.
Nice work man, thanks. I test the new desk environment and some thing regular do, it performs well, i love the task bar expecially sound control fuction and the battery meter. But i get some troubles too, such as the pad dead suddenlly when i open opera mobile web browser by opening ten tabs. And another is display switch problem, it works well when using an app, but can't switch the "home" button to left in the screen launcher.
I am not test game performance though, like modern combat 3, i will do next day. Last, this mod is great, thanks again.

hmmm, morning.....what is the point of this thread really? when we have pure cm9 already (originally by Sakindia123, Lirokoa, Savves) you added apache license to devicetree, your kernel is slightly modded thats it....am I missing something here, if the rom was heavily modded I could maybe understand but its not, please explain

I could do the same, compile and upload to a new thread, but I havent because its already been done, I`m not arguing with you about this
you have a kernel thread already? which is fair enough because you`ve modified code and could be beneficial to others users and probably would work with any cm9 rom......I dont understand WHY you have uploaded someone else`s base rom with absolutley no changes to whats already available............this is xda developers not "copymywork.com" we want something original not totally the same

What is Evervolv?
Evervolv is an AOSP (Android Open Source Project) rom. We're fully open sourced and encourage it with no restrictions. The work put into this rom is community driven and and Evervolv Project is made up of numerous members and contributors. And this whole time we were receiving 4.3 nightlies
Right now the current source we are working on is Jellybean (Android 4.3.x).
Current version: 3.3.0p1
Nightlies (starting 8.28.2013) available for testing. Once issues are re mediated, a release build will be posted.
Pre-Requisites:
1. CWM or TWRP
2. S-Off, or thorough understanding of how you work around S-On to get the kernel included in this ROM flashed. FAUX, CM kernels are not compatible and will result in functionality issues if it boots at all.
3. Desire to be helpful in an appropriate manner. Logcats, dmesgs, etc are very helpful, and necessary to assist.
4. Full data wipe/factory reset
Downloads:
http://www.evervolv.com/devices/speedy - Named "ev_speedy-nightly-2013.xx.xx-squished.zip"
This requires gapps for 4.3, do not use 4.2 gapps.
Where do we get the GApps?
Edit: I got them from HERE. 20130813
Edit2: Wow this works great right out of the box! Nightly 10-2
thanks, runs great so far. only issue i see right now is i cant take screenshots, keeps telling me storage might be in use but its not.
Confirmed on my end. Screenshot isn't working for me either. I'll try to get a logcat later tonight.
Here is the logcat I got when attempting to get a screen shot. I hope this helps.

Hi all guys. As a new developer here (I'm kinda a little noob at the moment to be honest... ) I want to share with you my builds of CyanogenMod 12. I'm building it everyday when I see they update it on gerrit. I don't (for now) work directly in the code so I can't provide a real changelog.
Code:
import java.util.Disclaimer
I'm a NEWBIE developer. ROMs I upload here have been tested on
my device and they boot. If you damage your phone please don't blame me
#include <stddisclaimer.h>
Known bugs
GPS icon
Stock camera doesn't take photo (Use Google Camera!)
DSP Manager crashes when you play a song (Working to fix this)
Wi-fi Hotspot doesn't work
Features
Pre-rooted
How to install
Reboot in recovery (I highly recommend last version of TWRP)
Wipe Data, Cache, Dalvik Cache
Install ROM
Install DSP_Updated
Install Gapps
Reboot

not sure why so many cm12 roms.. It's better if everyone work for the bug fix rather than creating the same CM12 with same bugs...

for what many cm12 rom if bugs still life
Its work to xt1003 dual sim ??
Whats the point of making exact same rom? Add maybe some unique features?
So what device tree are you using?
This is the same build as anerik,s one ...
Infact the size of the rom are also the same .. 238.1 mb ....
I think he just reuploaded anerik,s build .
Do we really need 4 CM 12 threads? (not including ones based off CM 12)
So far, anerik's thread has been most useful; least bugs, big fixes, clean, and very fast and smooth.

But don't listen to these guys, add some features to your ROM and upload that if you wish... Good luck young dev [emoji6]

I'm sorry but how exactly is sharing the exact same build i'm sharing to the exact same userbase is gonna 'let him learn'?

Well for starters he's doing something instead of ranting about when fixes will come like the other people now the amount of spam will evenly distribute in all threads

Introduction
This project aim to develop a kernel for the IUNI U3 able to turn on the latest version of Android and to meet the challenge proposed by IUNI.
The purpose of this post is:
Highlight the development progression.
Log the errors and bugs remaining to be fixed.
Transmit solutions of issues encountered to help those who will have the same kind of error to fix it.
Exchange and learn all together and find out how to fix those bugs.

About official source code:
The original CAF kernel source code is downloadable HERE
Common drivers are located at gionee/alps_drv
IUNI U3 specific drivers are located at gionee/project/NBL8910A
IUNI U3 Mini specific drivers are located at gionee/project/NBL8905A
The repo use a special script to compile Android with specific "GN_FLAGS" who're located into the gn_project folder, those flags are added on-the-fly and are not integrated into the kernel.

Because ADB doesn't works and I can't do an UART, the only way to extract logs of the compiled TWRP recoveryimage is to go into ADVANCED -> TERMINAL and type:
Code:

Then take pics of important part of the log

How it looks:
Nice work, might have a play with this over the weekend, although my skills are pretty limited.
Hi! Any news? seems that there no new step forward
Hi, anyone here who want to sell his IUNI U3?
I like it very much but left sim Slot for 4G is not
working and no one can repair.
Hello. That there on the kernel?
I thought the release of the code source would boost developers but it seems nobody wants to work on the U3 anymore, too bad
Hi,
Sorry for not giving any news for a long time, I sorely missed free time.
The kernel is now 100% functional on Android N. There are still some small issues and optimisations to fixes before everything is perfect.
It remains to complete the device tree and blobs to be finally ready.
The project was able to move forward with the help and support of several developers who generously gave their time to help and answer questions:
- @Sultanxda : The kernel is entirely based on his work, and moreover he helped me with all questions and technical problems.
- @feroxxx : It is thanks to him that LineageOS 14.1 is almost fully working on IUNI U3
- @nathanchance : Thanks to his documentation and availability to answer to the questions on the forum he has expanded my knowledge and awareness of security.
- @jerpelea and @GalaticStryder : They helped me to understand some technical and theoretical aspects of the kernel.
And of course also to all those who contributed to all these open-source projects without whom this project would never have emerged.
Thanks, thanks and thanks and thanks again!!!!!

:highfive:
I'll have to update the thread with more details and more regularly, like a log. The goal is to highlight the path used in the development of the kernel. The mistakes made, by which means they were solved.
The intention is to provide answers to questions that a person might ask if he wants to undertake a similar project.
When starting a project for the first time, there is often this famous stage of vast questioning and gray area. With a large amount of documentations, wondering where to start, where to go. Reading the practical experience of others could be a shortcut in the learning journey and have an idea where to start and where to go.
Soon there will be a key to the surprise that IUNI was talking about.)))
Hi, Abdess. When to expect firmware release?

Hi, Zewius21. I am sorely lacking time to work on it.
It may take time, unless someone wants to join me in the development.

Haha, exactly.
Ok the kernel source code for LOS 15.1 is available here: https://github.com/Abdess/android_kernel_iuni_msm8974/tree/lineage-15.1
There's a weird issue, everythings looks to works fine (adb, storage, brightness)... into the log... However the display doesn't works but it's acting like working.
It looks like I've to check the MDSS drivers and device tree.
Hi @Abdess76, I just tried building Lineage 14.1 off your sources. It built OK but it doesn't boot . It appears ADB isn't running despite building with user-debug and I can't seem to find any logs in /proc/last_kmesg. Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong?
Thank you for adding me to contributors, but how do you find my id in xda?Besides,How is the kernel going?

I had to make another break because of the work. Everything works however there is always this display bug. I must find the cause.
