[Q] MIUI nav bar - Sony Xperia L

Is there any way to disable nav bar on lock screen? Also, I'd like to get rid of menu button and have on screen menu buttons. Is there any workaround?
PS: I don't want to spam dev thread. That's why I'm asking here. .

That's pretty much how miui behaves, miui apps don't have a overflow button
so the navbar requires the hardcoded menu button

No, apps do contain overflow button. I tried to change the nav bar using Xposed. No luck.

[Q] How to hide 3 dot menu button ViperXL 3.1

So I just installed ViperXL today and I can't find any way to disable the onscreen bottom menu button for apps that don't have it built in like Facebook.
In CM10 and CleanROM there was a way to have it so I could set up my recent apps key to do multitasking on tap, and menu on long press. By default that would disable the built in 3 dot menu in apps like Gmail but in those roms you can reenable the 3 dots and still use the recent apps key as a menu key.
Is there any way to hide that on screen menu button that shows up at the bottom of the screen in Viper?
Thanks!

yes its somewhere in the viper tweaks settings. cant remember exactly where. its called soft menu or something
Venom Tweaks>Buttons>Soft menu bar
Same screen also has the button remaps for the "Recents" button.

I found those options without a problem.
If I disable the Soft Menu Bar, it fixes the problem with apps like facebook and XDA, however in Gmail and other apps I lose the 3 button overflow from within the app itself.
In my attachment, the part circled in red is lost with the Soft menu bar disabled. When the Soft menu bar is enabled, I get back that button but also get the annoying black bar at bottom with the 3 dots in Facebook/XDA. CM10 and CleanROM both had a way to have the 3 dots from apps as well as disable the black bar while having the recent apps key do both menu and multitask.
I believe it is a build.prop change so there is no way to have it show just the in-app menu button

Yes, but there is on stock ROMs...
I changed key binding so long press on recent apps brings up menu, its in venum. Tweaks under buttons right next to cpu tab

I hate how we can't have the best of both worlds with ViperXL 3.2.1. Before, we could turn off the menu bar, have the in-app 3-dot menu, and have the long-press menu button for apps that have yet to update their UI.
Now we have to long-press the menu button for every app, and constantly guess if the app we're using has a menu or not. Some people think this is fine. I don't. I thought the whole point behind custom ROMs and Android was the ability to change things to what we want, and not being limited by decisions made by people who think they know everything.
Lol then find a rom that does what you want or make it yourself

[Q] Lock Navigation bar on custom rom (like stock)

Hi
I just went from Stock 4.0.3 to Team EOS 4.2.1. Everything seems to work, but Im missing the "lock navigation bar" feature.
I know it's a ASUS specific feature. It says ASUS "something" setting
Fore those not familiar with this feature: You get a new button on the navigation bar. swipe it - and it lock the navigation bar, so you dont accidental push any of the buttons while e.g playing games or watching movies. Swipe it again and it unlocks the bar.
It is a big problem for kids not to hit e.g. home or back buttons while playing.
Are there any apps, hidden settings or custom roms that makes this possible
/jk
U can hide the nav bar on this awesome ROM
Long press the power button and press the last option... Better then lock

Yes that is a better solution, I agree.
I did rummage around the settings. found a lot of settings related to nav/status bar, but never quite what I was after.
Android can be quite difficult because all the feature and setting and that they change from version to version and ROM to ROM.
But its also the freedom we love, i guess

[IDEA] Implementing navigation buttons using finger print sensor.

Guys, I have an idea to implement the navigation keys using the fingerprint sensor. Something like the meizu m3 note. It would give us more real estate on the screen. Can any developer try this?
1. Tap once - homebutton.
2. Tap and hold - recents.
3. swipe left - back button.
If it is possible, but devs dont have time for this. You can tell me how i can do it. i will try my best.
It's clearly kernel stuff and we don't have any kernel developpers for that.. This idea is good but we got a very low chance to get that..

U can use gravitybox tô hide navi bar, and change how to use home button in gravity box too.
Sorry because my English is not good.

you can hide nav bar with edit build.prop.
install "all in one gesture" and add edge gesture for back home and recent.
you can see my htc a9:

Thanks i was able to do it. The edge gestures require my finger to go all the way to the corner making one hand usage impossible for me. Anyway, Thanks a lot buddy. hope someone will be able to mess around with the fingerprint button and implement this.
I think Xposed Additions should work.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spazedog.xposed.additionsgb
Then you could hide the navbar from build.prop.
Btw, your idea is available on HTC One M9+ through a custom kernel.
any update?
With All In One Gestures (available in Google Play for free) you can still have some of those gestures covered without any hassles or even having your device rooted. Hide your screen navi buttons in settings then define whatever screen gesture you prefer. No customized fingerprint button triggered actions though...only home button functionality.

Here is XDA thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-xposed-additions-t2294274
And Repo: http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.spazedog.xposed.additionsgb
I will test it this weekend.
I miss the optic sensor of my old htc desire, it was usefull for edit text and navigation.
Is it possible to do something like that with the fingerprint sensor? (like a pointer)

Can you customise new immersive button on nav bar?

Anyone?

With the new update you get a new button on your nav bar. A small white dot - bottom left. Press it and you get immersive mode i.e. no more nav bar. However, i would rather use that button for something else.

Titanium Backup menu access

This may be a silly question. But... How do I access the settings menu or batch actions while navigation gestures are enabled?

Yes I have found work around like using navigation buttons and long pressing recents button. But was just curious as to why there isn't an actual button on the app like three dots overflow or something. Thought maybe there was a settings in OOS I was missing. I still would like to hear from others to see if they have same issue as in mu screenshot.

I also have 8.31 (but Pro version). I use navigation gestures and have NO menu button....
I have the same issue as well. I think it's a bug. I've had this issue before too and it went away automatically. The menu button just appeared all of a sudden
I'm on Pro 8.3.1 (N5X and GZosp Pie with Oneplus-like gestures). No menu, neither in 8.2.2.
Solution: tab Overview >problems >settings.
Sorry, it's mentioned in #5 yet.
