Does anyone know if the new raw mode functionality will work on the CM11 nightlies? Don't really want to go to CM11S to try it out.
Thanks

I read that it requires specific CM11S libraries, so it might not work.
Just test it out yourself. The latest Cameranext.apk can be found on the forum.

I am not using a CM11 based rom atm so was trying to save myself the hassle of flashing twice. Already tried it out with vaniir

I tried to flash franco kernel R32 and my phone became stuck at the Google bootloader page with the unlocked lock at the bottom.
I did a full wipe after and tried reflashing CM11 M3, then flashing franco and the same thing happened? If someone doesn't mind trying to flash it and see if it's just me, that would be awesome.
I also tried a full wipe, flashing CM11 and using the upgrade app on the play store and the same thing happened.
Thanks in advance.
It's not going to work. CM changed to CAF.

Okay good, at least it's not just me. Could you very quickly explain what CAF means? Or link me to something I can read?

it's a custom kernel branch in Linux the cm is not going down
I am looking to see if there is a build of CM11S without gapps pre added to the rom so that I can use the customizable GAPPS package to remove unwanted app packages such as TTS, talkback, quickoffice, soundsearch, play movies, play games and so on.
You could download the recovery flashable version of the CM11S build from CM directly and delete the files prior to flashing. Just be aware you won't be able to do the OTA updates moving forward as you need a full image to do so
Hold up; just to make sure I understood that how you meant it.
I wont be able to do OTA updates unless i keep the entire GAPPS package installed?

Yep, that's correct. OTA updates require a full, untouched system image otherwise the update will fail
wow might as well just go to CM11 and forget CM11S altogether in that case.
+1 to what Eddy said. Doing any modifications to /system/ will cause problems when it comes to updating to the next OTA. So your best chance would be to use CM11 or any other custom ROM with the gapps of your choice.
that actually makes me a tad bit disappointed now.
I was really hoping to keep CM11S for some of the interesting features it had. Oh well, CM11 it is. Just need to find the one without many issues to use until stable is released. Any suggestions?

You can use CM11 (or any other ROM that uses a CM base) and have the CM11S features such as lock screen, camera (available as a apk standalone, doesnt matter what ROM you use), AudioFX (same.. available as a apk).
I'd probably recommend crDroid if you plan to stick to the CM base. Gets updated weekly or so and is based off CM11 without too many additions.
@bp328i did a great job at making a zip of all the CM11S apps that work with crDroid http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55654697&postcount=132
crDroid: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/rom-crdroid-kitkat-4-4-4-t2880851
Not sure whether or not bp used the stock lock screen but attached is the gradient lock screen. Looks better than the stock lock screen (search for what it looks like).
Alright, sounds good. What about people flashing custom kernels? Is this to fix issues with the phone or is it to add something?

Both.
Additional features are made by kernel-by-basis. I can go detail-by-detail on what features but its better off not to since you'll be confused.
The biggest fix would be touchscreen as it has a new touchscreen firmware that fixes ghost swipes.
What Kernel would you recommend? I was reading that some fix a battery drain issue as well?
Other than the personal GAPPS issue i have, does CM11S have any other faults currently?

I don't use CM11S so I can't tell you for sure.
Popular kernels are ak or franco kernel. I personally use Franco Kernel.
Think Im gonna go for CM11 nightlies after looking at Madhi, crDroid and a few others. I just like CM11 for my HTC One S.
For Franco's kernel would I be using the CM11S or AOSP if flashing CM11 nightly? Since CM11s is just a custom version of CM11 i wasnt sure.
nvm found it finally from G+ thread, AOSP
Hello,
Tomorrow my OPO will arrive. I want to root it and install a stable rom. Which is the best stable rom out now? Where to start?

Those posts are quite old (from 2014) isn't there a new stable ROM out from 2015?

Stock ROM(CM 11S) is the stable ROM as per my reading goes around oneplus board.
If you are looking for any Android L based ROMs, you need to try yourself all the ROMs.
For that you can get a root access on your device and install MultiROM mod.
I don't know any other Android KitKat based stable ROM to suggest you.
I hope this helps you
44s is defo the most stable for me.i went back to it after the latest update which broke a few things for me and horrible battery life
I would like to know one too.
There is no best stable ROM, because everyone has a different opinion on the matter, so you'll just get different answers. Look at the available ROMs, choose one you think you'll like, and read the last ten pages or so of the ROM thread, that'll tell you what bugs are currently present.

I was thinking about Vanir Exodus ROM. But perhaps I should rephrase my question: What is the most used stable ROM that is recently out or kept up to date up to now?

You need to make the decision for yourself. They're all kept up to date. I run Vanir-Exodus, it's very good, but that's just my opinion. There's no way to know which ROM is most used. Just pick one and flash it, if you don't like it then flash another one, that's the fun of running custom firmware.

Vanir-Exodus I'll give it a shot as soon as I get my phone tomorrow. By the way one last little question. If I use titanium backup on my s3 can I restore the apps on OPO after installing the new ROM or will that cause bugs?
Got my OPO a little over a week ago and have stuck with BlissPop. I tried them all, CM12,Exodus,Cyanide L, SlimLP
Sent from my A0001 using XDA Free mobile app

Restoring user apps should be fine (I did that too), just don't restore any system apps or data.

Ok i got the rom and everything works fine now. I play Darkness Reborn perhaps you have heard of the game and I have issues with this. Whenever I am in the game and I tap some things it says unfortunately the game has stopped working and it kicked me out. Do you think this could have something to do with the ROM? I tried to reinstall the game tried deleting the cache still nothing seems to help.

A lot of people say that, but, I'm eager to see every post I can where there is a user who has tried at least two and compare them, or, any user who has tried one and can say "I have used XXX ROM for several weeks now with no problems and particularly like the feature XXX that this ROM adds...
Would love to see more thorough reviews showing why one person feels one ROM is better than others.
Sticky threads are pretty easy to find, they're right at the top of the forum.

i will suggest stick to stock cm11s, or paranoid android version 4.45, it is quite stable
Since Oxygen is out for Oneplus one is anyone porting this soon to our phone? It has built in DT2W and other gestures
Gestures are done with the kernel, not the ROM.
Porting the ROM as a whole is ultimately pointless - just use any custom ROM, which probably has all the features + more anyways.

But i think it would be nice to have both OxOS and Cm12S to our phones. Im sure both will be ported soon even know one is based off of 5.0.2

Also, see my quote below.
Elluel said:
First of all, porting firmware from one device to another is extremely unlikely to function properly. If you can even get it to boot (the hardest part), a LOT will be broken as it was not built relevant to the hardware. Porting a custom ROM is even more pointless when it can be built specifically for your device.
OxygenOS has not been released yet, but it's likely to have features that other custom ROMs already have/can easily replicate.
Porting "CM12S" from the OnePlus One to the Nexus 5 is ultimately pointless. CM12 can be built from source anyways, then you can just take the few additional extra apk files from CM12S and paste them in.

It is not available yet. Also, this thread is a bit old.
its an old thread, was reading about this as opo 2 is coming out, from what i read if that its not open sourced and there is a small team doing the build, the kernel will be open, i wonder how they will manage without the community
As per title
i want to go back to CM11s but wanted to know if it had he touchscreen fix applied to it?
or shall I stick to cm-12.0-YNG1TAS17L, i take it this has the fix yes?

No. You need to find a CM11 kernel (custom) with the fix, but I do not think that there is one. YNG1TAS17L - NO fix (unless you choose a different kernel). YNG1TAS2I3 has it.
