[Completed] [q] custom roms are required for archos 50 oxygen - XDA Assist

since i bought my i archos 50 oxygen , i realized there are no custom roms for this device.
i also found that the owners of this device didn't request roms for it ,
despite that the capabilities and the hardware of the device are very good an for sure it can run many roms efficiently.
so ,can our rom developers help us making some jellybean or kitkat roms for the device.
thank you.

[Completed] [Q] Some Doubts.

First of all hi I'm new here and I know nothing of android development,
I had started some work on earlier symbian platform but this is just different totally different and better than the brilliant environment.
Yesterday I bought a phone in $50 its MTK6589 291ppi 1GB RAM. I know these specs. are not very good these days buy in 50 bucks can you believe it?
So. here's my first question.
If you want to upgrade from like JB to KK then how do you do it. Do you have to build another kernel as well.
What are the tools you all guys are using to get the things done.
Mediatek vs Snapdragon for which should I go for.
Is there a method to by which if the manufacturer does not releases the source then you can port CM to it or like L preview to a device running Cupcake {theoretically}.
Does XDA-University has a quick start PDF.

[Completed] [Q] Developing to other devices?

Porting Android - Did I thinking that this modifying custom ROM from one device such as CyanogenMod for the Nexus 5 and move it to another completely different device? I have an idea for the Nokia N9 developing ended with android 4.1, I would like to create a ROM, for example, 4.4 (higher than 4.1) for Nokia N9 as KitKat has a lot of optimization and was run even on slower devices. :laugh:Could someone explain how to do or advise what to do, or give a link to the guide. Linux commands aren't unknown to me. I'm new on xda.

[Completed] Port of Lollipop Touchwiz to OPO?

I know very well that many people hate touchwiz, but I really like the new Lollipop version. I was wondering of if a port would even be possible, and if so, could someone port it? If you don't want to but know how, could you give some tips on how I could do it?
Thanks in advance!
Hi there,
Here is the section about Rom development. There are several guides to go through and if you get stuck, you can ask in the thread of the guide you choose to follow.
For that you need to register an account on XDA forums.
