Hi guys! Here’s Co & Do’s Channel!
We are all fans of Android and are thrilled about variety of productive, funny and easy-to-use apps, no doubt (this curiosity is our secret of making such a great app like AirDroid, to be honest).
During the past years of exploration of the App world. We did dig out some nice and cool apps (like ours AirDroid), which we have been admiring and learning from and there’s no reason to keep those with ourselves without sharing with you guys just like what we have been doing.
So here we are, hope you will like it.
The first app that we feel really like to recommend to you is Sleep as Android:
Sleep as Android helps to sleep better and have a good night’s rest
We are recently preparing for something really big! The result is that we get burned out in the day and are tossing and turning the whole night or even can’t fall asleep! How frustrated! Then I remembered the app - Sleep as Android - one of our team member once mentioned. Hum, I’d better give it a try.
Isn’t it just an alarm clock? WTF, why so complicated? I’m asked to solve the equation? What the hell, how do I know the answer?
OK, to be serious, this app - Sleep as Android - by Urbandroid Team can help us to figure out our sleep pattern by tracking the sleep cycle, and wake us up at the most optimal moment so we would feel refreshed.
1. Set alarms
First of all, we need to set alarms in the home page, the steps are similar to setting normal alarms. Sleep as Android provides with lots of options and various ringtones for us to choose from. A small challenge for allodoxaphobia like me when welcomed by these ringtones:

}
2. Smart wake up
Indeed an unpleasant experience of being disturbed while I’m in the sweet dream. How I wish I can smash the alarm clock!! I just dreamed about a pay raise, the manager is talking to me… Awww, feel even more tired when I wake up.
The normal alarm clocks only trigger in the fixed time. To the contrary, Sleep as Android will analyze our sleep cycle, recognize what sleep phase we are in, and will wake us up at an optimal time.
For example, if we set the alarm at 8 o’clock in the morning, and set a 30-minute smart period, during 7:30 ~ 8:00, Sleep as Android will look for a time when our sleep is relatively light and then trigger the alarm:
3. CAPTCHA - to stop oversleeping
We know it’s hard to win when we work against the natural instincts of our body. Dismiss the alarm and continue sleeping is a common action and in this case, CAPTCHA will help us to get up on time.
Sleep as Android provides with several different CAPTCHAS, with a range of difficulty settings: Very simple - Simple - Intermediate - Hard - Very hard, to stop the alarm:
Math equation: choose answers from the list or type them by yourself
Sleeping sheep: find an awake sheep
Shake it: shake your phone
QR code: scan a QR code (supported QR apps: Barcode Scanner, QRDroid, Google Goggles)
NFC tag: scan a NFC tag
Dream diary: write a piece of diary of your dream
Personally, Finding an awake sheep with Very hard mode is the most difficult option for me. I have to catch 5 awake sheep among about 30 sheep, with an irregularly changing way. And focusing on something is not easy for who is half-awake.
4. Sleep tracking
Tracking sleep is another important feature of Sleep as Android. Go to ALARMS and tap Sleep tracking at the bottom left, place the phone on the bed and Sleep as Android will track our sleep.
How’s our sleep quality? When we are in light sleep and when we are in deep sleep? Sleep as Android will collect those data by monitoring the body movements through built-in sensor and aggregated those data into sleep graphs, which can give us an overview of the sleep statistics:
Those data could also be aggregated into charts:
Also, advice on sleep will be given based on a simple analysis of the data collected:
If Sleep as Android is used often, a more accurate advice will be given:
(screenshot from the Internet)
And Sleep as Android can detect sleep talking, snoring and more. Interesting when I listen to the records. I won’t tell you what I was talking about at night.
5. Some tips
1) Set your phone to Airplane mode to avoid being disturbed by phone calls.
2) Charging your phone during sleep tracking because this app is a little battery-eating.
3) A good choice to use this app with smart watch like Pebble, Moto 360.
There are lots of interesting and useful features, and Addons in Sleep as Android waiting for you to explore. But never believe all you read. Humans are humans. We use apps to make our Android more human, but we shouldn’t rely on the apps, you know me.
Sleep as Android is available for free as a two week trial. It’ll cost you $4.49 to get the full version.

I'm looking for an Windows Mobile alternative for the iPhones Sleep Cycle alarm clock. The Sleep Cycle alarm clock is a bio-alarm clock that analyzes your sleep patterns and wakes you when you are in the lightest sleep phase.

Anyone have a good idee?
My mate has an iPhone and he has been using the app for a week and swears he wakes up fresher in the morning by using the sleep cycle alarm clock.
I had my doubts that it would make a real difference, thinking it was more of a gimmick, but it makes sense.
I would donate $10USD to the project if someone makes the app

That is true but SPB Time 3 is liking a wake-up light. It just shows a white screen (bright light
) and start with playing some sound of birds/water about 30 minutes before the real alarm goes off. It doesn't have any type of REM-sleep registration.
Moved as not software release..
I will try to write this application. I will need a few days.
I'm going to have to give up on this because after days of testing I can't figure out the best way to translate the gsensor readings to movements in bed. The gsensor readings are always changing so even for example when my Touch HD is absolutely still on a table the readings are still fluctuating, particularly z axis.
Just to throw an idea out there (i have experience with control systems but not g sensors in particular).
Couldn't you filter the data with a moving average (within a predefined error range) which would essentially be the noise floor of the signal. Values over this noise floor would contribute to the calculation of the slope/gradient value.
To form a gradient/slope value you would take samples from the gsensor which were a 'x' times bigger than the noise floor which would determine the accel/de-accel slope value.
I have alot of experience in C programming, I could create the algorithms/program flow diagrams if it would help.
Is there a Gsensor logging app that i could try the algorithms out?
Maybe this can help: G-Trigger, G-Sensor based ^shake^ detector
I'm really looking forward to this kind of app, hope someone can make it happen

looks like a good alternative
I'm also very interested!

Sleep Sense application - beta coming soon
Hi All
I had to run a short-running average, comparing this with a long-running average in order to smooth out the fluctuating gsensor readings, to accurately detect acceleration and movement. Then averaging out this data onto a graph.
I will have a beta application ready for you to test this weekend. It doesn't look too pretty but the functionality should be there.
Thanks
Ash

Hi, the program so far looks quite good. I think it is not yet sufficiently sensitive to the Omnia. Tomorrow I will send you once the RAW data.
Are you sick of twirling a dial or pressing an up/down selector 30 times to set a simple timer? Then this is the timer app for you!
I wrote this free app for power users who want a fast UI. Just key in the timer delay in minutes and hit "Add" button and the timer will begin.
I'd be interested in getting feedback as XDA readers tend to be power users and I'm interested to see what features you all would like to see.
Features:
- Ergonomic timer entry
- Does not acquire wake-locks and so will not drain your battery unlike other timers
- Uses system alarm manager and robustly stores alarms so that the alarm doesn't fail when the app is closed
- Less aggressive/annoying timer sound (rooster loops every few seconds instead of without delay)
- Less aggressive/annoying vibrate settings (as above)

sweet and simple
Very nice work.
1 suggestion.
Often when cooking we you have 3 or 4 things to put on at different times.
Could you add different items separately with their own time:
i.e.
item 1 - pie t-45
item 2 - chips t-25
item 3 - peas t-10
Click start and 45 minutes starts counting down, as set by the longest time, or just enter longest first. 20 mins in "chips" notification goes off and then peas 35 mins later. That way dinner is all synchronised!
Nice concept and a great start.
It really needs the ability to time seconds (full minutes only in the current version) and multiple timers (I typically have two or three running when I cook).
As a suggestion as to how to position yourself with your customers, I'm completely put off though by an app that is still not feature complete (no preferences, as a quick find), is hopelessly crippled in the free version (60-minute limit), and has ads to add insult to injury.
I agree with the comments above. A great start, but needs to display and time by seconds, and needs to have at least 3 timers running consecutively.
Suggestion: web link to all your apps https://market.android.com/search?q=droidgram&so=1&c=apps&rdid=com.droidgram.timer&rdot=1?
Thanks for the initial feedback. Multiple timers is one of the key planned features and I hope to have this pushed out soon!
Nice start, I like the easy way to enter the time.
One suggestion: add repeating times. There are some situations where you need the possibility that a certain about of time must be repeated n times. I only know one timer (Yata! http://market.android.com/details?id=com.pelletiere.android.reallysimpletimer) who can almost do that (it's just possible to repeat over and over but not to define something like: countdown 05'30" six times, play sound after each cycle, than stop).
Would be nice if you can do that.
Cheers, Klausi

The app webpage gives details on the permission usage: http://droidgram.com/forum/Timer
Basically, it needs vibrate to make the phone vibrate on alarm. Internet and coarse location is required to serve up AdMob adverts and also is used for analytics to track errors etc.

Thanks for the feedback. It's a bit of a tough question regarding some things e.g. release with preferences not complete.
In the end, I wanted to indicate that this is coming, but didn't want to delay the release by doing all these features up front. This way, I can get feedback on what features are important. A bit of a trade-off, I know, but as an independent programmer, I have limited time and resources so can only do the best I can as a single developer.
Updated now, the free version now has a limit of 180 minutes, which should hopefully make it more useful.
Updated to restore notification on reboot of device.
I think the app now is rock solid stable, so now I will work on additional features:
- Choice of alarm tone
- Multiple timers
At the moment, if you install both the free and pro version, you can use them together to get 2 timers at the same time.
v2.01 released
New version released. Key new features:
Add 'Seconds Mode' to allow timers to be set also in seconds
Custom alarm ringtone (by popular request)
Show alarm time in notification bar when timer is set.
Future features scheduled:
Multiple timers
App is available for free with a donate option. Please donate to support further development and additional features.
v2.1 released
3 new features for better ergonomics
http://droidgram.com/forum/Timer
- Add short timer mode
- Add tens of seconds first option
- Add tap to toggle mode feature
Hello everyone.
Let me highlight you my story.
Since little more than 2 months, sitting after daily job (mon to fri, 9to5 and half) till late night hours I finished work on the first version of my android application.
It also happened that next day after I released it to the Play Google market I've just got fired!
From one side it's better, because now I have much more time (that was missing so much) for marketing and updates. From the second side a little bit poor situation couse I have lost my main source of income and I am located 1000km from family right now.
But BE POSITIVIE I though! Anyway right now I decided to devote a 100% of my spare time for polishing and marketing of my application and the contact with users. Respond to each single response of clients as fast as I can.
The application is called Meditate - Meditation Timer
It's higlhy custamizable, programmable and userfriendly meditation timer with a bunch of settings that user can use to personalize it best for needed purposes.
It can be also used as a sleep heler [mode Fall Asleep].
Short brief of features:
Directly after application starts we can quickly and easy choose between two main mode, Single and highly customizable Plan mode.
On the main activity you can swipe between 3 meditation modes:
a) Meditation
b) Meditation with affirmation
c) Fall Asleep (sleep booster)
User has possibilities to define any amount of meditation Plans he wants with that contains any needed amount of steps. In each of them it is possible to set the category of meditation and it's duration (hours:minutes). After completing each next step, the next one is load automaticly. Till the last one, then the whole Plan can be reset and start from begining, or be completely redited.
Application has also a bunch of settings such as, preparation time, time after sound should be repeated, quieting each next sound, choosing own sound file from phonoe storage and setting the time of everydays notifications, etc.
After completing meditation there is possibility to save a note, which can be further freely viewed or edited in History of all previous meditations. History itself contains infos like date, start and end time, category of meditation, title of affirmation, title of the plan, number of step etc. Each can be deleted if user wants that.
In Statistics you can look on your progress on the scalable and scrollable column charts. Period of 7, 30, 90, 365 days ago can be set. Or after click 'Show All' we will see the meditations since the first one ever started (and still not deleted by user) till today.
Please, don't be scared, you do not need to spend money right away. Application is avaliable in two versions. Free test trial, wich a few limited options, and paid one ($0.99). I think it is really cheap comparing to other products from this category.

I invite you to Meditate
I am aware of that because of abundance and diversity specifications and companies that produce devices with Android system, on some of them can apear errors, that I do not experience for example on my own phone (HTC One S btw.). Also because of this reason I very ask you for help with testing the application.
In thanks for your time spent by, even only for a look inside the application page and throw an eye on description / screenshots, whenever possible I will answer to any question related to the topic. Also send a whole lot of positive energy during the next meditations.
Cheers!
Pablo

Why would you make different apps when you can put it in to one

Just like HTC_Vivid said, add all muscle groups. We need to work all, not just chest after all
Thanks for taking the time to check out our app and reply!
We’re actually in the process of making a complete workout app, incorporating all the workouts into one and adding additional workouts and functionality.
To address your question however, we had a number of reasons for packaging the apps separately. Firstly, we noticed a trend in the market whereby many developers employed the same principle. Since these other apps were successful in their approach for various reasons, we thought it a good idea to do the same. Secondly, segmenting the apps allowed us to release them in stages, thereby getting some out into the market earlier. The graphics were quite a bit of work so each took some time! There are other considerations too.
Our end goal has always been to develop a total workout app (our flagship app), with the intention of monetizing it either via IAP’s or by selling it. The others are merely a free taste of what is to come, with the emphasis on free We’ll definitely add shoulder/back workouts in the total workout app, as well as several additional workout routines.
Thanks again for your input. Any further comments as to the actual functionality/design of the app would be much appreciated!
I like design of application, looks very professional
Thanks so much for your positive feedback!
Been using this and your Arm workout app for some days and really like both apps. Not to complicated, not to big, pretty straight forward. Not sure if I would need an All-in-one app, I'd rather have "just what I use" instead of "everything there is". Already gave 5 stars in playstore for both apps, very kind that they come for free! Thanks and keep up the good work!
I think there is a bug with the reminder, even I turned it off, I still get notification every day to start my workout.
Thanks adl for taking the time to use our apps and feedback to us. We really value your input and appreciate the rating. Apologies for the possible bug. We will investigate immediately and push out an update if required - thanks for letting us know! All the best and we hope you continue to enjoy our apps
Hi, regarding the notification bug: it might have been a user bug (me). I disabled it for 2 apps but forgot about the 3rd app I installed from you, that's why I got the notification.

Total gesture control. Make your device smarter and easier to use with custom touch gestures and the many more features the app offers. You can start drawing a gesture at any time no matter which app is in the foreground. No root access needed.
With Gesture Suite
🞂 You can define your own gesture shapes that make sense for you. Not just predefined straight lines or circles.
🞂 Start drawing them immediately no matter which app you have open at the time.
Gesture Suite uses a custom gesture recognition algorithm that no other app has. Among its other advantages it can also distinguish the same shape in different sizes. Example: small S shape triggers action A while big S shape triggers action B. Also you can set starting zones so that you reuse the same shape and have it do different things depending on where you draw it.
You can use:
🞂 Custom touch gestures (draw or tap) using up to 10 fingers!
🞂 Air gestures using proximity sensor (5 different types)
🞂 Shake gestures using accelerometer sensor (short shake and long shake)
🞂 Voice commands
🞂 Task Scheduler (alarm and countdown type)
🞂 App Watcher (triggered when an app launches or exits)
🞂 Device events (device boot, screen locked etc...)
to trigger tasks that you create to control your device settings or perform multiple automated actions and save time and make your life simper.
Gesture Suite offers around 70 actions you can execute to simplify things for you. Among others Gesture Suite offers the following features:
• App launcher
• File Explorer
• Image Gallery
• Task Scheduler
• Alarm Clock
• SMS sender
• Time-lapse camera
• Flashlight
• Launchpad for frequently used apps
• Screen password protector
• App password protector
• Dropbox uploader
• Audio recorder
• Custom search engine tool to automate text searching
and much more...
◆ The app is constantly improved and new actions/features will be added in the future.
◆ The app will not monitor or send any kind of data anywhere without your knowledge. Privacy is most important.
◆ To report bugs/problems please use the "Support" option in the app's settings. Do not write them at Play Store reviews.
On this thread feel free to share your thoughts on how the app could improve, what works well and what doesn't, features or actions that you would like to be added in future updates, or generally any kind of constructive criticism or feedback.
If you don't know the app yet give it a try! If you 're a fan of automation apps and touch gestures shortcuts you will love it.
havent set it all up yet but much thanks , ill leave a review ince i have time to really check it out..
downloading and testing it now I will reply later thanks!
