[Q] Error updating to CM11s 38r - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Running on a rooted phone with stock ROM (11.0-XNPH33R) and custom recovery (TWRP 2.8.0.1)
Received the OTA and I tried installing, but just took me to the recovery and didn't auto install unlike previous times.
So I tried manually flashing it, but I get this error:
E: Zip Signature verification failed: 1
E: Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/.......... zip'
I unchecked zip signature verification, but I'm still having the second error. Also downloaded the update from external mirrors, but still have the same problem.

I'm having the same issue...

Zip verification Error
I'm getting following errors when I"m trying to update:
Zip Signature verification failed: 1
Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/.......... zip'
I have unmodified ROM - unlocked bootloader, TWRP and rooted (with OnePlus One Toolbox). I've tried OTA, manually installing original zip in TWRP and modified zip from this thread. Same error. Tried to locate solution here but couldn't. Anyone knows how to solve it?
Thanks.

In order to flash CM11, you need to use the new TWRP version. The steps are links are all here:

TWRP 2.7.1.2 & CM nightly 200140831: Error executing updater binary in zip

I flashed 2.7.1.2 from the official teamwin website, and did a factory wipe. I copied cm-11-20140831-NIGHTLY-moto_msm8960.zip with md5 to /external_sd and I try to install it from TWRP. It says:
Code:
Full SELinux support is present.
Installing '/external_sd/cm-11-20140831-NIGHTLY-moto_msm8960.zip'...
Checking for MD5 file
MD5 matched

E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/external_sd/cm-11-20140831-NIGHTLY-moto_msm8960.zip'
Erro flashing zip '/external_sd/cm-11-20140831-NIGHTLY-moto_msm8960.zip'

I've found a similar issue which was due to TWRP 2.7.1.1 (and solved with upgrade to 2.7.1.2).
Previous attempts were to install M8-moto_msm8960 via ClockworkMod, resulting in dead WiFi. Then I upgraded to TWRP as more recent images would not flash in CWM, and tried nightly snapshot as per above. I am able to flash cm-11-20140708-SNAPSHOT-M8-moto_msm8960.zip in TWRP 2.7.1.2 now, WiFi works. I can wait for the next milestone, or the official CM11, and use M8, but I would like to be able to upgrade later anyway.
Any suggestions as to what to try?

Failed to verify whole-file signature when updating with recovery

Hi,
I've downloaded the lastest nightly version for Nexus 5 for installing CyanogenMod into it. The problem is that when I loaded the zip into my phone using adb and the command "adb sideload <file>", it couldn't verify the file and gave me this message:
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

I've been searching for a solution but I couldn't find anything.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!
Well, it was simply my fault to not being properly informated...
The thing was that I didn't have my recovery image updated, so it couldn't install me a newer version because it didn't support it.
What I did was simply install a proper CWM recovery and thus, I was able to install my newly CM.
Hi Please can you send me the link to link to install cwm recovery. I have same issue stuck in e: signature verification failed

E: Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/Download/filename.zip'

Question Problem updating arrowOS

I get an error when I install the system update.
I want to update manually via recorvery but I get an error: E: recvmsg failed (No buffer space available) do you have any ideas for this? System arrowOS
and assert failed: update_dynamic_partitions(package_extract_file("dynamic_partitions_op_list")) E:Error in /sideload/package.zip (status 1)
MAybe your downloaded file is corrupted?
No, I have that with every update. It only works when you reload the system. I reset the settings and everything and the same
It seems you are updating via sideload, maybe damaged data cable?
I changed the cable and the same
Why not just use OTA update?
TWRP latest beta and arrow recovery support that.
Never had any issue like that even when I manually updated in TWRP.
I just tried via OTA but an error pops up

Flash MIUI Fastboot-Image, then ArrowOS. /system_root' (No such file or directory) <= not good.
If you are fast enough, you can boot directly into fastboot after successfully flashing MIUI and flash TWRP and ArrowOS. I did this on another phone a few months ago and it worked
Tried different ways to restore and nothing has helped. I downloaded Crdroid and solved the problem. Thanks to everyone for the answers <3

That just means your download was 100% corrupted.
