[Q] Different power plug? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I can't use the original power plug because it's a US one and I live in EU. Can I use one that is a bit different?
OPO is: input: 100-240V, 50-60hz, 0.3A output: 5V-2A
Mine is input: 100-240V, 50-60hz, 0.35A output: 5V-2A
I also have a less powerful one (nexus 4) that I use but it charges a bit slower.
Thanks!

Is yours charger this with two flat metals not round? IF so just buy cheap adapter for it.
We have 50 Hz here in europe US have 60 so it is compatible with both.

As mentioned previously, just buy an adapter: https://www.google.com/search?q=us+...5.3691j0j7&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=122&ie=UTF-8

Yeah it is the one with the two flat ends. Are you sure simple cheap adapters like that will not fail on me and destroy my battery?

I am using it already at home... Ill post picture later. About 5 hours ;p i am at work now..

OnePlus are supplying a cheap adaptor to use in conjunction with the EU charger for OPOs in the UK - we don't merit a dedicated charger!

Power Adapter Specs... please!

I've just bought this tablet from Amazon.de to be shipped to me in the UK - it's likely to come with a Euro style power adapter, so I need to buy a UK equivalent.
Can someone tell me what the specs of the adapter are?
I'm guessing 5v @ either 1 or 2 amps...?
Thanks!

The charger is quite special I think.
Attached is a picture of mine. (Euro.)
5v @ 2A or 15v @ 1.2A (Yes it has two ratings?)

I have no idea when it runns what though, or even what pins it applies it to. It may be some odd propriatary system...
Edit:
It seems to be related to USB 3.0 and some extra pin.
Normal USB 2.0 plugs will activate the 5v charge, while a USB 3.0 plug with some fiddly shorting or something can activate 15v.
More power through a thin wire
Edit2:
It's the same adapter as for the Prime apparantly.
Ok, cheers.
I guess I'll buy a travel adapter instead - I can use the original psu then, instead of trying to find a replacement straightaway.

You should be able to use another phone's wall adaptor, so long as it transforms down to the proper amperage.

most new adaptors are rated 100-240V - I use the same adaptor in the US and in Europe. Just read the label before plugging it!
It's just a USB charger. Virtually any will do.

Indeed, the stock charger is 100-240V, so all you really need is a simple adapter plug.

Yeah, I got one of those too. And I also use all of my other EU chargers (Motorola, Sony, etc).
One uses 850mA, the rest is with 1.000mA like the one frome Samsung for your T699.

The Nexus 5 comes with the same charger.
It shouldn't be too bad to find a Nexus 5 charger
As long as the charger has an output of DC 5V, 1.2A. and an input of AC 100V– 240V, any cable that meets this minimum specification it will work.
Check this out:

It's a bit pricey but you can find something similar with EU outlet plug.

Both fake, they don't have the signs which are required to sell electronic devices in EU

They are not designed to be used in the EU, since they have the American plug (flat), and not the rounded ones for the EU. The EU sign is "CE", the E being rounded like the C. But I wouldn't worry too much about that, any charger will do. These charger plugs, like laptop chargers, work between 100-240v, so you can use eg an American charger via a plug adaptor in the EU without problems
A charger will only supply as much current as a device requests. I have never seen my Nexus 4 pulling over c. 800mA, so any charger rated over 1.0A should be fine (for example a laptop will output 500mA, that is why it takes longer to charge from a laptop output. No harm done, just slower).
The original charger plug is rated at 1.8A fyi. Amazon do sell the original EU LG N4 charger plug, just look for it on your local site - or find one on eBay at 1/3 the price

But in your first post, you mentioned Amazon..?
Anyway, in short, any charger will do, Samsung or whatever. As I said, for something like this, you're best trying ebay.
Actually i have original nexus charger and its identical with those ones in links, i dont believe those are fake

Similar wall usb charger specs, different times to full?

Oneplus one charger works best:
Input 100-240v ~ 50-60Hz 0.3A
Output 5v - 2A
But at night, the charger I use at that room is slower at:
Samsung travel adapter
Input 100-240v ~ 50-60Hz .35A
Output 5.0 - 2.0A
Could that .35A make it slower or even the usb cable being used with the samsung which is thinner and longer?

Its the cable's fault. If you use the same cable as the OPO charger, the charging time will not vary much.
The general rule is if you want to use a longer cable, it should be thicker.
Ex: a 6 foot cable should be at least 22 awg and ideally 20 awg. Although, the thicker the cable, the more rigid it is

Thanks I guess I should pick up a thicker usb cable to try out with samsung usb charger because I trust the specs on both chargers should charge the device just as fast using either one.

Absolutely right, both chargers should be able to do the same job. Just make sure when you purchase a new cable you pay close attention to the AWG rating of the cable.

Thanks guys, indeed a thicker cable worked. Actually looks like the same shape of oppo stock charger cable.

Found some "super charger" cables and adapters on ebay

If you google hauwei super charger some cables and wall adapters show up. They look like they have the purple. Not sure if they are legit. Probly not.
I bought a couple of these on AliExpress, they look excactly the same and they do work with SuperCharge, very happy with them!
I need the cable in a 2M length. That is the issue. I see that there is one it there by Higoo but it is not available in Canada. I wish the charging technology was not so proprietary !

I confirm, ordered car adapter from the same seller. 100% genuine (passes authentication procedure on Huawei site), supports Super Charge. Very-very good price.
Thanks, man!
I've just bought a UK supercharger from eBay and after a quick search it looks like the UK versions don't have the purple. It does the job though (supercharges) and appears to have the quality of a genuine item.

I have an Anker Quick Car Charger QC3.0 which offer INPUT: 12V / 24V AUTO SWITCH
OUTPUT:
3.6V-6.5V =3A
6.5V-9V = 2.7A
9V-12V=2A
FAST Inteligent charger QC3.0.
My question is, can i use it for Huawei Mate 9? I dont mind if it is not chare fast enough, but will this charger cause any potential damage to the phone? has any one used QC3.0 car charger for the Mate 9?
I just checked Huawei's website : their car charger's output: 4.5V=5A, 9v=2A, but did not mention 9-12v...
thanks

I use a QC2.0 car charger with the included with the phone and it charges just fine. The phone draws 2A. It's not as fast as the included wall adapter but it's still pretty fast
