D851 bootloader is unlocked, is there anything in store? - Android Apps and Games

I understood because the bootloader couldn't be unlocked, there was no development planned for g3 roms, but now that our D851 t-mobile variants bootloader can actually be unlocked, do any of the major roms plan on developing? Seeing cyanogen, pac rom, or paranoid on the g3 would be a game changer.

You're in the wrong forum, like I've never seen someone get this lost on XDA. This is something that should be searched on in the LG G3 forum. As been said all the other variants haven't been unlocked yet and once they have unlocked development will really start. There is some roms that are available for the Tmobile variant but they are stock roms with a little something added. The CM 11 Rom that is there is still pretty alpha and only key functions work while everything else doesn't.

Boost Moto G with VZW Firmware?

So I have a Boost Moto G(1031) that I unlocked the Bootloader on & put the stock Verizon Moto G(XT1028) firmware on so I can OTA on Page Plus & make Life easier later. I was wondering if any one has tried to put the Verizon CM on this device setup like this or any other Verizon Rom for that matter. If so did it work?, Brick it? Error Out? what was the result's & what Version of android were you on when you tried this? I would like to have the latest Cyanogenmod 11 for Moto G on my device but some places I see 1028 & others I see 1031 so just wondering the outcome before I try cause im sure someone has tried this already. Thanks for any info
Boost Moto G with Verizon rom
I have the Boost Moto G programmed for PagePlus also. I have installed several of the rom's, both cm and asop with no problems such as "brick" or looping as you are worried about. Each of the different rom's seem to have their own issues you probably have read about in the forums.
I'm no expert, but I think as long as you have adb and fastboot figured out and follow the guides you'll do alright.
Currently I'm using the Flashable ZIP Stock Motorola firmware in the development forum and it is working very well for me.
I'm using Android version 4.4.4
Good Luck!

Right on. Yea all custom roms seem to have their own issues whatever they may be. I'm as well on 4.4.4 stock I haven't rooted yet cause I wasn't sure if I would be able to use the Roms for a Verizon device & hadn't seen any info on it. Thanks for the info I'll get her rooted & start playing yay!!

how did you unlock your bootloader may i ask?
I did it before the update then used one on here that didn't lock it
All that is available are AOSP ROMs or CM11. No one has been able to get the new kitkat kernel to boot with our old firmware. :crying:
At this point, I'm happy with DU weekly builds. Don't really miss Touchwiz, I do flash MOAR sometimes. However, I still things run much better on vanilla android.

While that is correct there are several decent versions of aosp and other variations. I would seriously look around for what's available but stay away from anything that says BL LOCKED or any variation of that
From my S3 on Wicked 4.3

I've been having recurring camera reboots on my stock, rooted, BL-unlocked ROM and really want to get away from that. Does either CM or any of the crop of AOSP ROMs of 4.4 for similarly unlocked devices manage to work well w/ phone hardware (e.g., cameras work properly, mic works properly, bluetooth works properly) without being too "1337 g4m3r XT3M3!!!"? I'd like a fairly simple layout, to be honest, without a bunch of crufty, automatic extra features. Just a plain, 4.4.4 ROM that actually lets me take more than one picture before rebooting

Nope. I believe you have to pay $50 to jtag your device back to an unlocked bootloader. I maybe wrong, but i believe that is the only hope. For the time being, the only unlockable devices seem to be HTC.

No, my phone's currently on the unlocked 4.3 build floating around the forums; i was wondering which of the unlocked 4.4 builds (e.g., AOSP, Cyanogenmod) was most stable, since there isn't a TW build compatible with my unlocked bootloader.

Questions and Help issues belong in Q&A, Help and Troubleshooting...not Original Development
All the development sections are only for developers to post work
As for looking for the "best" or "most stable" ROMs it is strongly advised that you read the development threads yourself
Find out what bugs and fixes are offered in the thread and if that appeals to you, or has a bug YOU can live with
No one can pick your ROM for you nor should they...in the end only YOU know what it is best for YOU.
As a general tip, stay away from Nightlies if you want stability as new fixes and bugs are presented often in those.

[Q] How is AT&T with the bootloader locking on this device?

Thinking about switching from Sprint to AT&T and grabbing the G4 when it comes out. Is the G3 easily "mod-able"? I only ask because my brother has the S5 and Samsung has locked that bootloader so tight, there's no way flash custom kernels or modify radios. Is it the same for LG devices?
Thanks

LG you don't have to unlock the boot loader. It's called something (can't place my mind on the name) that bypasses so you can flash custom Roms. If you'd look at the development thread you'll see all the mods/Roms

Beware
AT&T has locked the bootloader on the G3, and likely the G4 as well.
The only reason we on AT&T have custom ROMs is because the code has been "broken" to properly sign custom ROMs and recovery images, which trick the bootloader into thinking that these are "allowed" software.
In essence, it is *as if* the AT&T LG G3 has an unlocked bootloader and development can thus move forward.
It may or may NOT ever happen with the AT&T G4. I don't think we know yet.
I suggest further reading and discussion around here before jumping in on the G4 is custom ROMs are an essential for you.

Non at&t rom on at&t device.

Dear ,
I have an unlocked LG G3 D850. It had the at&t and it was causing problems with day to day use. I put twrp, cloudyg3, and rooted. Of course 5.0 is not good, so I want to either revert back to 4.4 or 6.0, but without at&t bloatware.
My question is, can I flash the D855 on the D850? This is not a device specific question. Does at&t change the hardware? Can I flash a non at&t on an at&t device? I would flash the new 6.0 at&t but do not want the bloatware. I would also like to keep it like stock lg, without the CM launcher or that stuff.
Again, this is a general question and not device specific.
Thank you modders!
(I researched and saw no answer to my question anywhere)

2021 roms that are Verizon compatible

Hello I'm sure this has been answered already but alot of the roms I flash will say sim not found when there's clearly a sim in the tray and I think it has to do with my service being Verizon . The only roms I've seen work with it are Xtended rom and pixel experience which I'm thankful those do but seeing the new android 12 roms I gave those a try and it's not recognizing my Verizon Sim.
With that said I imagine with Sprint radios being put in the roms it'd help Verizon work unless I'm wrong but my question is if I'm flashing these roms wrong let me know but I'm thankful for anyone making the roms Verizon compatible I love this phone and hope to play with more roms if I could I'd develop one myself just wanted to throw that out there as well lol
Kosp on a12 works with Verizon. Idk of any others yet
