Hey there, good people.
I don't know if someone has face this wakelock before or not, neither if there is a workaround for this.
I found that the Wireless Shield controller driver is the culprit of this wakelock. In short, this service is the one in charge to pair your wireless controller with your tablet.
The service start everytime the tablet boot up, so is auto triggered without reason, and becomes a wakelock that last the time you have your tablet ON. I've tried disabling the boot receiver but after reboot the control won't pair, which is kinda silly, considering that blocking the autostart on boot doesn't disable the app itself.
This service will autostart and will keep running even if you turn off the controller. The only way to stop it is by killing it, and that's quite annoying. Is there any possible fix for it or i am the only one facing it? I'm on OTA 1 or whatever comes with the tablet (Stock)

Did you get your wakelock issue solved?? I had the same issue also. Download 'disable service' from the app store and navigate to the system apps and find the 'SHIELD Wireless Controller Service' and disable the service. It solved my wakelock problem .

But if you do that, the controller becomes useless because it wont pair.

You are correct sir. I recommend leaving it off until you need to use it, otherwise it will just be a drain on your battery.

This spams my notification and status bar when a. I restart phone or b. I turn off all radios and the enable again.
It has to be a third party app I have. Anyone else seen this before? Antivirus programs don't see anything wrong.
Thanks.

I would use droidwall and disable apps that you think is the problem. There is no way for you to know that it works unless it reproduce it self i think there is also another firewall app that does dynamic blocking but it is still buggy Hope you find the root of the problem.
I had that problem on my other phone when I had an mp3 downloading app. Do you have of those installed? I would check that out.

ok i had the same problem heres how to fix it go to the market and download "airpush detector" install it and run it. what it will do is pull the app/apps that are causing the issue then you can just uninstall them.
You def have a rogue app somewhere.
Look through /data/app folder for anything that you don't recognize or looks suspect. Also look through you Application Manager. If you don't remember installing it, unistall it...the worst thing that can happen if it was something you use is you lose you settings. I think that is worth it to prevent possibly losing your identity (not trying to scare you)
Yep I have a mp3 downloaded app. Uninstall!!

Yep, I thought so. Thats what I had on my old phone.
I have it. No mp3 app, though. Spam is lame as hell.
Though the phone shows that it is "not awake", it does not go into deep sleep. Is this a cheap trick from Xperia? :silly:
It remains all the time at 384MHz...
Though I agree that it might be something they did for faster unlocking and all, but then why do they hide it?

This is not normal, maybe some app prevent it from deep sleep. Download better battery stats app and see what is wrong.

I am posting these 5 screenshots below, please see if you find anything that explains this.
And there's one more thing, that when I connected my phone to my laptop, it simply didn't charge
Also the laptop fails to recognise in the MTP mode, and today failed to read the phone in mass storage mode as well. Any hints?

Seems that Walkman keep your phone awake. Please try to force close it in settings and see if phone go to deep sleep after that.

It is not any app related I'm sure (like walkman or settings), but some system app. I'll look into it, but what I wanted to know was that does others experience similar problem? i.e. not actually going into deep sleep
Try install wakelock detector and see the problem..

Just checked, its working fine for me in California, 8:13 pm Pacific Time.
Works for my N5, N7 2012 - both running KitKat and the older HTC's running ICS - locate and ring her's at full volume.
Check your settings to see if it was turned off - power down & reboot it, try again.

Check if your Location settings isn't off!!
It's never worked for me even with the Nexus 4. Google Location Reporting is on. Location is on and is in Battery Saving mode which uses my Wi-Fi connection to locate my phone. Their app is hopeless so I now use an app called Lookout which is a lot more reliable than the Google one.
Changed the Mode to High Accuracy but still no luck locating my phone!!!!

My issue isnt that it doesnt work, it's that I can't even get to the web site. I get an error 500 message when I go to the web site. It happens if I use my phone or my computer with Chrome, AOSP browser, or Internet Explorer on my PC.
Alarm_rtc. What is using this? Read around a bit and it seems that any app can be causing this.
Am I correct in assuming Light Flow would be responsible in my case?
(I was having problems with a charger and used the app to flash the LED to show me it was actually charging while the screen was off.)

alarm_rtc: This is your phone's internal alarm scheduler, set to wake up your phone for sync, push, etc. Closely related to the AlarmManager PWL.
To fix: Check your apps and make sure they're only set to sync when you want them to, not for constant push or stupid-short intervals.

You can also run Terminal Emulator app and type the below commands:
su (enter)
dumpsys alarm (enter)
Then search for "Alarm Stats" and see what you have.

Froze both those apps and coming up with this now.
Would like to get it down to 1.5-2%/hour with the screen off. Guess I'll keep at it. Nothing better to do.

Switch location mode to Device only in the Android settings menu.
I notice you are on HSPA. If you are stuck on HSPA, disable LTE so it doesn't keep looking for a signal. Of you have access to LTE, use it. I see you have Tasker. You can automate the radio changes with that.
This is pretty messed up. On airplane mode. Running greenify.

Yet your battery still looks to be very close to full (actually, it looks like it's full). 85.7% of jack squat is jack squat.
Point is it kept it awake the entire time I was in a movie with the phone on airplane mode.

can't just ''Force close at application list ? '' I've tried that one and my task manager did not saw it or just try to find some app blocker when airplane is for special profiles/modes etc. Did not get in deep enough to just understand but mostly as he said ''Finding all time updates'' when i do not use it, i just disable google updates and when i need then just simply enable them.
Hope this could help you !
Fyi - Maybe Some task killlers may do this the same while blacklisting them

just freeze it. you can use several apps to freeze google play and google play services. as for me my favorites are Link2SD and LuckyPatcher. everytime you have to go to the movies just quickly freeze it (and reboot if want to make sure).
